Patzcuaro is a no frills "hole in the wall" tex-mex place near NE Mall in Hurst. I had seen it a number of times driving past here but didn't have a reason to stop until invited by a friend that I hadn't seen in a while's birthday lunch that they decided to have as a meetup here. Staff took really good care of us. Made sure we had everything we needed and gave good space when my friend was opening cards and gifts. The only negative I could was that it wasn't 100% clear that we needed to pay up front. So, we did have a few mins of looking around trying to decide if the folks who needed to get going sooner than others, should go stand up front or not. I got the fajita tacos which were decent enough, with really good portions. Though my tortillas was already soggy when I got my food. So might be worth paying the dollar or so more for the regular. Are they going to go into regular rotation, probably not, but they have landed on my list to take folks that need a bit more basic tex mex without fighting to much of a crowd like at some more well known places, or at a chain. read more

Went back for another good meal with family- celebrating my Dad's Birthday this time. No frills about this place. Just good food! We enjoyed Nachos, Steak quesadilla, fajita taco plates, & grilled catfish with veggies. Chips and salsa also good. You pay at counter. I deducted a star due to the restrooms that are in need of updating. I've noted that previously but now they have signs saying you can't even flush toilet paper. The have larger trash cans available but that's a little to authentic Mexico restroom experience for my preference in Hurst, TX! read more

Dropped in here to get my cinco de mayo margarita and glad i did. It's not overly large but a good size with a small bar. The margarita s delicious, i had it on the rocks. They do offered frozen ones but only frozen. The service was quick and efficient and we ordered an appetizer which came out pipping hot and cooked perfectly read more

This is located where Souper Salad use to be in Hurst by NE Mall. The restaurant was clean and service was prompt. They had large group tables ready (seating 10 but could make bigger/smaller). They do have a bar and offered mixed drinks, some beer and wine. They also offer breakfast (both American items and Mexican items). In my opinion, Mexican Food restaurants are either thumbs up or thumbs down with salsa. There's seem to be made with serrano's, served warm with fresh made chips. It had good flavor with medium heat. Definitely a thumbs up for us. We split the beef fajita nachos, which was plenty for us. The beef was tender with good flavor. Prices were moderate/average. Example, our nachos were $12.99. I figured I would update my review since they finally have their liquor license. We both love the Enchiladas Michoacanas, best enchiladas ever hands down, but you would not believe how good these nachos are. I am not a person who orders nachos at restaurants because I love an entree with sides, and I usually have plenty of chips and their amazing salsa. But I cannot get enough of these nachos! Tried out this little cafe found on Yelp! This place did not disappoint. The meat was flavorful, the salsa was made fresh and still warm when I received my chips and salsa. It was not too spicy but just a hint of spicy which was perfect! The house margarita was good and fairly large. Not overly strong but made just right. I'll admit, I've been putting off sharing my secret gem with you all! For starters- this is the cleanest, most authentic, friendliest, AND fair priced mexican restaurant in the area. My spicy margarita was only $8 and as you can tell from the pic- it is pretty big. The food however was the star of the show! The Migas plate Was good and in my opinion if the tortilla strips are not crispy it can really make or break migas and this one was on point! Steak and eggs was just not it. Not good it was needing way more flavor to it Chroizo burrito was yummy! Their beans are very good and their homemade tortillas according to other reviews and I believe their website too. Not true. They are NOT homemade. Very disappointed French toast is nothing extraordinary. They do not offer chips and salsa before 11am so if you're expecting Mexican breakfast and want that chip and salsa like I did- then this is not the place for your breakfast stop! Today, a group of local school counselors tried Patzcuaro for the first time. We tried a variety of plates, of which I'm posting some if the pics. I had the enchiladas and chose double beans since I'm not a rice eater. The enchiladas were very good and had a nice amount of cheese over them. The beans were tasty and we liked their hot sauce. It wasn't very hot but had a nice flavor. My friend who ordered the beef fajita salad said the fajitas were tender and seasoned perfectly. Her word was AMAZING! Another friend got the chicken and beef fajita platter and said it was delicious! I could go on, but Iet's just say this was a WIN! The restaurant itself is pretty simple, nothing fancy, but it was clean, the restrooms were clean, the servers were kind, and they got our food out in good time. The prices were good for the amount of food we were served, and for the beautiful plating of the food. We agreed to have our beginning of the school year meeting there and possibly our Christmas luncheon. That's how much we liked it! read more

We have only been for breakfast, but it is great!! Fantastic omelets and the Huevos Rancheros are the best! As with anyone the salsa is always the key to a good mexican restaurant. I was excited to give a new Tex-med place a try. I thought it was really interesting how they had so many options, including Mexican breakfasts all day! Walking in, it is a huge place. I didn't take the hint it was so empty since reviews seemed really good. The thing that really caught my attention was the booths were not really even meant for 4 people. Very small and other seating wasn't adequate unless you pushed tables together. (We are a family of 5.) Now for the food, I got fajitas (chicken and steak) they were very lime flavored but honestly I liked them. The meat was not chewy and for the price they gave plenty. They skimped on the rice and beans that came with it but that's not a huge thing. Just surprised me as it's the less expensive part. My son got an adult chicken quesadilla as they didn't have one on the kids menu - WEIRD! It was packed with chicken and must say not enough cheese. Oddly didn't even have rice and beans on the side. Now for my husband...major shocker...he hated it! He got a chorizo breakfast burrito. He is a chorizo lover and don't think he has ever not liked some but this he didn't touch after the first bite. He called it dog food. Unsure if since we were there around 2 it just cooked to long or why but it wasn't edible. Unfortunately not a place I'd recommend or be back to off this experience. Really good Tex-Mex food. Ordered the beef fajita nachos and it was exactly what I was craving. My only con is they should incorporate more Mexican decor and music. That would really give it a better feel. I felt like I was eating Mexican food in the super salad which Is what the location used to be. When I eat Mexican I want to imagine I'm on vacation sitting on a beach somewhere. Anyway, great service and prices as well. I would recommend the restaurant to family and friends. I understand that a lot of places are currently short staffed, unfortunately, that affected our first experience at Pátzcuaro Café. There was only one server the whole time so even though we needed chip refills, drink refills, and silverware, it was hard to get her attention since she was so busy with other customers. She didn't get a chance to come to our table until we were ready for our check. Our total also seemed a little high, but once again, with her being the only one there, she was the one ringing us up. Given that she was so busy, I didn't even bother asking her why the total was what it was. Food was good. lots of options. I would be open to trying it again, but hopefully there is more staff or we will visit when it's less busy. read more

Lunch adventure recommended by a friend, recommend by a friend. How is that for authenticity of where to eat! Sunday lunch, we were able to be seated quickly. The environment is one large room with a few low partitions to separate the tables. The staff was very attentive and responsive. The menu started with breakfast selections, followed by lunch specials, fajitas, specialties and finishing up with desserts and drinks. Included fried foods and a section on Cajun food. Since we selected a restaurant named for Mexican food we stayed on course. The meal started with chips and salsa. My sponsor selected a meal called Mixed Plate - enchilada, taco, rice (meal typically comes either beans). I selected Guisado Ranchero since I did not know what it was. It is a Stew made with a protein sautéed in red or green salsa. Both of our menus items were to be served with Tortillas, but they were not delivered to our table. Actually we forgot about them until after the meal, so I guess it did not matter. The meal was tasty and pretty standard compared to other Mexican food establishments. It is worth a visit to try some different variations of Mexican food dishes. At the end of your meal walk to the front cashier and they will find your ticket and you pay there. read more

A sit down Mexican restaurant in Hurst. Too good to be true. Unfortunately this place is missing the mark in a lot of areas. Customer service started off ok. We were able to choose our seating. Which was good at first but horrible once the server disappeared on us. Probably because he had tables all over. And he kept sitting down at the table in the back corner. All while we needed a refill, Togo boxes a check. We ordered cokes and nachos to start off with. The chips were hot and fresh and the salsa had great flavor and is served warm too. Probably the best part of the experience. this came out maybe 5min after we placed our drink and appetizer. Our waiter returned 10min later to take our entree orders. I ordered chili relleno. And husband ordered the chicken fajitas. Maybe another 5min and our appetizer came out. They were ok. Unfortunately our food arrived about 5min after the appetizer. I just hate how there wasn't any time in between courses. The chili relleno came with rice and beans. Rice was cooked perfect and beans were just ok. I've never had a Chili Relleno that only had the egg mixture on one side. Which was disappointing because that what I had been craving all day. It was a very lazy way to make it. The chicken fajitas came out sizzling and the chicken was unseasoned. Not sure why it was so bland but plain is never good. This also came with rice and beans but my husband swapped the refried beans for charro beans and they too were very bland. The corn and flour tortillas that came with our meals were delicious. Unfortunately our server disappeared on us and we got the manager to help us out with the Togo boxes and check. It was a long time waiting with no drinks and just sitting there wanting to leave.
