I haven't been to Los Lupes in several weeks due to customer and food issues of late. My wife enjoys the place but wow, I should have nit give in to her and ordered food from them. I placed my order at 6pm (it took several minutes to get someone on the phone that could "understand" and take my order) so I placed an order and she finally had it correctly. I was told 10-15 minutes because they were not busy. I arrived at 6:20pm (5-10 minutes after) and she said it would only be a minute. Over three years later & a majority of my review is still the same. I did want to update, because I've been reading a lot of bad reviews lately about the employees with how understaffed they are. Personally, we had a great experience. The woman who seated us was very nice & our waitress, Sandra, was awesome. She got our order just right & refilled our drinks multiple times without needing to be asked. For me, nothing has really changed. We ordered the queso again, despite my previous feelings about it not being good. Lesson learned, it's still not good. And you may be thinking, like I would, how can you trust a Mexican restaurant that doesn't have good queso? Well, I don't know the answer to that because everything else hear is awesome. The Christian plate is still my go to. It comes with a cheese enchilada, cheese taco, guacamole tostada, and a beef crispy taco. The only weird thing about it is that a "cheese taco" as listed on the menu, is the exact same thing as a cheese enchilada. There is no difference at all. So essentially the plate contains two cheese enchiladas. Yet the beef taco is actually a crispy beef taco. It's all really good food. Every time I've eaten here, they've always had extremely fast service. Today our queso came out at the same time as our food. I wouldn't let the bad reviews scare you away. I've read them & they do seem bad, but we didn't experience any of the things others have mentioned so I believe it's worth a try for yourself! read more

Came here with some coworkers midweek for a little birthday gathering. We had 4:30 pm reservations and were seated at a table set with chips, salsa, and bean dip. We've been coming to this location for years. But over the last year we have experienced terrible service. We've had issues with getting orders correct, getting orders, and getting correct credit card slips. This last time I we had to wait on my sonic meal after they forgot it. They finally brought it out after we all had finished. Then when paying I got the wrong credit slip to sign. I took it in to make sure nobody signed mine but to make sure that person got theirs. They were proceeded to tell me the first time ok we will get on it. 15 min later I went back in and asked for a manger. No manger was there. So we talked to the bartender about it. We had driven past Lupe's a few times but never stopped, so figured we'd give it a go. When we arrived, we were greeted and asked if we'd like to sit inside or outside. We opted for outside, as it was a nice day. Their patio is nice with ample comfortable seating and is shaded, which was nice. A server promptly took our drink orders and brought chips, salsa and bean dip while we perused the menu. My first instinct, reviewing the menu, was that this place is quite expensive for Tex Mex, but they have a great selection, including a decent set of lunch specials Monday-Friday and a weekend brunch. I opted for the shrimp enchiladas with Poblano sauce (it is alternatively offered with mole sauce). I also asked for a side of the "atomic sauce" which I saw listed with several other dishes. Glad I got it as a side. Just a very little bit goes a long way, but is absolutely delicious. The enchiladas were delicious. The Poblano sauce was flavorful. And the rice and beans were pretty much your standard Tex Mex fare. My husband got the Mexico City tacos (which include the aforementioned atomic sauce) and they were delicious and flavorful, but beware, they're spicy. Met some friends on a Saturday night at 6:30 and the place was poppin. Glad we had reservations. I was first and wasn't waited on until the 2nd person arrived which was about 10 minutes. I thought that was odd but not a big deal. These days I feel like we have to plan to be patient when dining out. My first drink was the jalapeño margarita which was delivered 3/4 of the way full with too much ice. I don't recommend it. I then switched to the regular house which was perfect. The food was also delicious. Like why don't I go to the place. I will now! Plenty of parking and the restrooms were clean. My menu had dried salsa on it which is just not okay. It was a pretty standard margarita, tasted like a premix, but they chill their glasses so it was nice and cold. The chips and salsa weren't bad, but forgettable. I went with the rib eye tacos and my friend had the brisket chimichanga. The meat was tender but not particularly flavorful, for rib eye. The charro beans were really the surprise of the plate. They were really good and had some jalapeno in it. The service was really good. The food was satisfying but it didn't distinguish itself from the many other options in the area. I came here with my best friend and when we walked in we were greeted by a man and he told us to follow him so we did and he put something on a table and kept walking at the same pace , we almost weren't sure if we were supposed to follow him lol after looking closer we saw he out cutlery down. I don't think i've left a restaurant without tipping like that in 5 years. Server felt entitled to my money after screwing up every step of the process. She was not friendly, didn't know the menu, didn't communicate with her manager running the drink (my GF got carded twice), was not sympathetic for the hair and mischarging me so badly. Rice was normal fare and beans were a little sharp tasting but vegetarian. I would order this again but with something else like Caldo de pollo. Supreme Burrito: huge! Filling! Stuffed with ground beef, rice, sour cream and a mix of other good stuff. Could have used a little sweeter contrast flavor. The meat & rice were a bit overwhelming.
