Tbh, the food was on the spicier side, so if you have a superrrr low spice tolerance like me, try to get extra ranch instead of Mary's signature sauce to balance it out. Chicken and pickle on a stick was a fun and new twist to try! I don't like pickles but my friend said it was good and would buy again. She said the pickles tasted like they make them in house (fresh!!). Not a bad price either ($4.99 I think.. might've been $6.99). Dough boys were yummy! A good glazed donut without the taste of fried oil. If I was craving sugary bread, this is the best dessert to soothe it. The regular roll that comes in the box is truly yummy as well. We stopped by Mary's Sue's Hot Chicken on Sunday for lunch, and overall it was a really good experience. From the outside, I expected it to be a smaller spot, but it was actually much bigger than I thought. Everything inside was clean, and even though there were a few people ahead of us in line, the process was simple--you order first, then grab your food and find a table. The cashier who helped us was super nice, which made the experience even better. We both ordered lemonade teas--one peach and one watermelon--and they were honestly a 10/10. Not too sweet, more on the tangy side, which I loved. It wasn't overly crowded--maybe around 10-12 people inside, with a couple more eating outside--so it felt comfortable. We ordered the chicken with the sweet spicy flavor, along with fries, mac and cheese, pickle sticks, and rolls. Everything came out fresh and tasted really good. There was about a 10-15 minute wait, but that's expected for fresh food and totally worth it. The presentation was great, and overall the food hit. I stopped by during lunch. The lunch crowd seemed to be very steady. I probably waited about 20 mins for my food. Darnisha helped me place my order. Even though there were a few people in line she was so patient taking my order. It was my first time visiting their establishment, and I asked her a few questions. She didn't rush at all. She took her time to go over the popular choices and drinks from the menu. Even telling us the history behind the business. She had excellent customer service skills. I went with the Mary Sue's #1. I got my chicken dry and added the sweet and spicy sauce on the side. I went with mac and cheese as my side order. For my drink I saw everyone ordering the watermelon strawberry lemonade, and I got that as well. That drink was so good!!! It wasn't even that sweet which makes it perfect. Very refreshing! My meal was fresh, and I love how they give you ranch and honey mustard sauce to go along with your meal. I particular wasn't a fan of the sweet and spicy sauce. Stop here on my way I ordered the wings they were very tasty and spicy , sauce was good had two types specifically made by owner secret sauce. service was exceptional., as I was sitting there a man approached wanted to know if I was ok . I learned he was owner Kevin he gave me some background information on his business as we were talking he went to back and came back with 3 doughs they were amazing hot and so good.I noticed this portrait with Journee on it questioned him about and he explained a fundraiser was done to support her and he kept it up . Okay I'm not sure what happened on my most recent visit. Several tables were dirty. The gentleman at the register was jovial and kind as were all the employees I encountered. I ordered my food to go. I waited about 20 minutes for my food and received free dough babies for my wait : ) I got home 15 minutes after ordering, my chicken was piping hot and yummy. The fries were odd. It tasted like they were stale and had been dropped in oil to make them seem fresh. They were inedible, so I put them in the trash where they belonged. My bun was burnt and stale. My food container was dirty with food stains. Its not okay I pay my hard earned money for stale food thats inedible. I hope it was an off day. This was my second visit to this restaurant. My first visit was a perfect 5 stars. Hence, the reason I'm so confused about my second visit. Theres also a 4% fee if you pay by credit card. Today we happened to luck up on an experience of a lifetime.
