Hot, quick, and delicious food! I loved the well seasoned and crispy chicken skin that shelled their very juicy chicken. Rice was cooked through with texture still and beans were seasoned well also. Came on a Tuesday and it felt like a Friday rush, the crowd speaks for the place. The tortillas were less fluffy as I imagined and more of a naan-like texture. Still yummy, so no complaints. The green sauce had a kick and the brown was reminiscent of a chili adobo sauce; both were really good and accompanied the meal. Even the moody bathroom was cute and on theme with the Mexican flair (the CLAY sink was so cute). Only draw back was that it was hot and humid in there. I've had Pollo Primo bookmarked for a while, and we decided today would be a perfect day to give them a try because it's usually less busy. I ordered the 1/4 white meal that comes with the standard beans and rice with two tortillas. The chicken itself was seasoned well and moist, along with the beans. The herb rice was okay, nothing special. They also give you one green and red salsa plus Pico de Gallo to accompany your meal. Now, the frozen margarita was definitely good and strong. I witnessed a few customers walking in and placing orders for the margaritas along. The chicken lacks flavor. I went after seeing someone's video on instagram. Got the half chicken which comes with rice, beans, tortillas, and sauces. I also got a margarita. The chicken was cooked very well but had no salt! Like none at all. The beans were my favorite part with the drink being a close second. Great service and love the outdoor seating. I've had to eat here a few times to really appreciate it. At first, I thought it was kind of bland/dull. However, a few months later, something made me think about them again and I realized I wanted more. The location is kind of difficult to get to and the parking is limited. However, you have several outdoor and indoor seating available. The chicken is tasty. Maybe not as salty, but it's seasoned well and juicy. The beans they werve with the chicken and rice is great on it's own. I always ask for extra pico and tortillas which are definitly fresh. I highly recommend you try this place. i've been to Pollo Primo in a while, I used to come here every Tuesday with my little seeing the Primo song in the love the place music amazing bathrooms Picasso! The decor is so fun and the people are just wonderful and very helpful. The first time we went, my granddaughter who was five did not want to eat the beans. I told her that they tasted like chocolate, and they do. we would usually order tortillas, beans, rice, and guacamole, and split an Agua Fresca, which we would mix with soda water. Today I got the quarter chicken, dark, which comes with beans and rice, and I brought it home with an Agua Fresca. As I said, it's been a long time, and I am so happy. I tried the margarita with a hibiscus topper and it was delicious. We didn't have to wait long before the food arrived. We were both very pleased with our meals. The chicken is so flavorful and juicy. The skin was a bit crispy on the outside and the meat was tender. The combo came with pico, tortillas and some sauces. They use basmati rice and it was fluffy and seasoned well. The esquites was so good! I'm not a huge fan of guacamole, but I enjoyed theirs. I will also say that while the rice was good, I have to agree with other reviewers, I have had better flavored rice elsewhere. But the star of the show here is the chicken anyway. It was moist and seasoned well. The skin could have been a tad bit crisper but not a big deal. The biggest issue was the seating, it could be a lot better and there could be a lot more of it. This is one of my absolute favorite spots to visit while in Atlanta. You cannot beat the lunch special 1/4 chicken, beans, rice, chips and Guac with fresh tortillas for $15! It was pretty packed when we arrived but the line moves! They get you in and out. There's plenty patio seating and minimal seating inside. I've been living in Atlanta for ~10 years and this is truly one of the best meals I've had in my time here. Food is extremely fresh and as someone who can be quite sensitive to foods/ingredients, this is food I would return to time and time again. I can't get enough of this place! When I had my first bite of Pollo Primo, I knew I would be a fan for life. Located in Grant Park, Pollo Primo serves up some of the best flame-grilled chicken I've had the chance to enjoy beyond vacationing in a bit. The interior of the restaurant is not the biggest, but believe me, the flavor presented on each plate is massive. There are a few tables inside with seating available, but they also have a huge deck that can seat dozens of folks who prefer to enjoy their meal Al fresco. The entree menu is quite simple - choose your size of chicken (1/4, half, etc etc) and then decide on your delicious accompaniments. Most meals come with rice, beans, tortillas and sauces, all extremely flavorful and the perfect pairings for the chicken. Beyond the chicken and sides offered with each plate, I've grown to love their esquites! I loveee Mexican street corn, especially when it's off of the cob and Pollo Primo does it right. You can also grab a beer or margarita while you visit! Ordering online is an option if you're in a rush and want your food to go, but even as one who prefers to order in advance, I've learned that ordering in store is a quick process. I think that the longest I've waited has been ten minutes or so, and that's nothing when you note that your food is super fresh. The team is always helpful and efficient as well.
