We happened to be at lighg up sodos christmas event with our 3 god daughters & Pollo Campero had a tent set up so they wanted to spend the wheel & out of all of us 3 of us won the 2 piece chicken meal. So after the festival we were hungry & decided to check it out. The place was nice and clean. Plus the girls enjoyed what they were playing on tv while we ordered 3 of the meals we won & the 2 youngest we got a chicken nugget meal for them to share because we did not see a kids meal. We were all satisfied with our meals, we all had fried chicken. I liked the yuca fries the most, the kids loved the french fries & the rolls that comes with the meals but I can say we all liked the fried chicken too. As for the service, it was great! They helped us place our order, brought our food to the table when it was ready. Plus had conversations with us I asked if they had a sauce for the yuca & was gonna go ask for some at the counter & was like no, I'll get for you they even asked towards the end if we need boxes and brought us some with a bag. I went through the drive-thru at 9:15pm and ordered an 8-piece meal. I was asked if I could wait 20 minutes, which I agreed to. However, within a minute, the cashier came back and said they only had 5 pieces of chicken left and could not fulfill the order. I asked what time they close and was told 10pm, which made the situation even more frustrating. There were still 45 minutes left before closing, yet they were already unable to serve a basic order. I was also told they had a large order come through, but that shouldn't prevent other customers from being served entirely. I didn't even wait I left immediately. This reflects poor planning and lack of customer consideration. If a location cannot maintain enough product to serve customers until closing time, their hours should reflect that. read more

I was introduced to this chain while visiting Guatemala (where it originated) earlier this year. There are now numerous franchises throughout Central Florida. This location is bright and clean, with simplistic styling which is consistent among the chain. You can order at the kiosks or the counter. I went with a kiosk. I got the Campero Bowl, which was pretty tasty. It's loaded with ample fixings that blend together nicely. I feel the fried chicken is right for the bowl, but on its own I prefer the grilled chicken. I would prefer chopped tomatoes rather than whole, as they were lacking in flavor. I always go with the Jamaica drink and yuca fries. Also a fan of the Campero sauce. I wish the menu here was as extensive as what's offered in Guatemala. A lot more options there, which I was hoping to try :( Also wish napkins were more readily available. For dine-in, I do appreciate that food is served on plates, rather than all disposable materials. Service was decent. Prices are okay, depending on what you're getting. Pollo Campero is the bomb! They have a nice outside seating area, inside is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly. Now, their chicken, wow! Grilled or fried, the chicken is amazingly delicious; it is tender and juicy on the inside and the skin is so pleasantly crispy. I'm in love with their chicken. Yuca fries are also crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I really like their Cole slaw too, and their Jamaica aguas frescas was nice and refreshing. They're horchata is amazing! It wasn't too cinnamony and was just sweet enough. The chicken here is super juicy. The fries container is similar to what you would get an apple pie in from other fast food places. The mac and cheese was okay. The service was quick and friendly. I got a flyer in the mail for a free 4-Piece meal so I decided to come over and buy a chicken sandwich to try as well. My husband kept bragging about this place and one time he got take out and i tried it thought it was good; we finally got the chance to stop by and the chicken was even better fresh! It was very tasty very moist lots of flavors. My daughter had the macaroni and it was pretty good. They have their own sauce which I wasn't a big fan of because it tasted like pickles but it was so much better with chalula, really wish they had Pica mas!! I also really liked their aguas The horchata was good but it tasted a bit watered down. My favorite agua was the mango it was super delicious!! I hadn't been to a fast food chicken spot in a long time, so I was excited to try Pollo Campero for the first time, and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the 2-piece fried chicken with a side of mac & cheese and a dinner roll. We went for a late lunch/early dinner around 4 pm, which turned out to be perfect timing since we beat the crowd. The food was delicious! I usually expect fried chicken to be a little oily, but this wasn't at all! It was crispy and flavorful. I also tried the fresh mango drink, which had a peach-nectarine undertone... sooo good! They do have a drive-thru, but we chose to dine in. The restaurant was very clean, and the cashier was super helpful and friendly while going over all my options. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our meal. I'm currently injured with a possible fracture, so I decided to use the drive-through instead of going inside. The employee taking my order kept asking me to speak louder and louder so he could hear me. When I got to the window and paid, he told me to wait for my empanada at the stop sign instead of the window so he could hand out other orders. By the way, the drive-through is one-way. While I was waiting at the stop sign, cars started honking at me, so I had to move and eventually go inside to get my empanada. It was extremely unprofessional. I explained what happened, and instead of apologizing--especially since it's visibly clear I'm injured--he argued with me and walked away. I've been coming here since the restaurant first opened and used to recommend Pollo Campero, but the service and quality have gone downhill. The chicken was overly salty, and the bread was cold. This place is my go to spot for chicken. The best part is that you don't have to choose between fried and grilled because they have both. Same with potato and yucca fries or coleslaw and beans or tortilla and roll. Everything is well seasoned and delicious. It's a fast food place so not fancy but it is nice and clean. Inside is very spacious and can seat large groups if needed, we went around lunch time and it was really busy, we waited for over 30mins for our food, the staff was really nice and professional and provided updates throughout. I wait about 15 mins before they decide to put down the tools and come take my order. They did not wash their hands after doing the construction and took my order. They grabbed the drink cup with their dirty hands full of dry wall dust and handed to me. I could see that they had fresh chicken cooking in the back and instead of giving me that I saw them reach to the back of the chicken box and gave me the smallest and driest chicken possible. Eh, so was already unsure about this place just from how it appears, doesn't look like some place I'd be dying to go to whether that's from the outside or from content I've seen online, but thought I'd give it a shot because of the convenience of their drive thru. I downloaded their app to place an order ahead asap pickup at 8:15, that said it would be ready at 8:30, I pull through the drive thru to get it when I'm told if I selected their "pay at the store" payment method that I'd have to go inside to pay ... ? I have to get out of the drive thru to find parking then walk inside, wait in line to pay. I ask why I have to come inside to pay and they said because if I select that option, that they give your order you place to whoever comes before you if they got the same thing ... meaning even if you place it in order to get your meal at a certain time, that you basically have to wait until you pay before they actually make it lol. So I ended up waiting inside until 8:45 when they finally gave me my small order. So a half hour after I placed it originally. Mind you, this still doesn't answer my question as to why I had to come inside to pay and why I couldn't pay at the window once already there lol. They really shouldn't have the pay at the store option if they're going to make you do all this. read more

The upcharge on this item was laughable and does not even compare to ANY of their chicken sandwhich you would order. I truly hope that upper management rethinks their strategy. Disappointed! My wife and I went there for dinner excited about a new place for fried chicken. We ordered the 4 piece meal to share with two sides. The chicken pieces were two legs and two thighs. You would think that you would get at least one breast (my favorite) in that meal. The pieces were small so if you are dieting then this would be the place to go. The 4 piece meal is $15.40 and comes with a choice of 2 sides. We got the Yuca fries and the Sweet Plantains. The chicken was a major disappointment and greasy/small. We will not be returning! To us, the food was so bad that it was not work taking a picture. I always take photos but not today. I failed to mention, you get either a roll or tortilla with the meal except for us. We were so excited to try this place out, and ended up disappointed. The food was okay, the chicken was extremely greasy and seemed to get soggier the closer you got to the meat on the bone. The mac and cheese and coleslaw were really good though. The service was not great, we were standing at the register and multiple employees passed by, avoiding eye contact with us to not have to take our order. Finally, one young lady made eye contact with us and seemed reluctant to take our order at first but then turned back to take it. After ordering, we went to find a table to dine at and although the grand majority of tables were empty (only two tables with customers), all the tables seemed greasy and with crumbs from previous diners. We never found a clean table to sit at, so we settled for the least dirty we could find. We saw an employee cleaning tables shortly before leaving and noticed they wipe the tables with one wet rag, without a disinfectant spray, so it seems like the grease just gets spread from table to table. The floor had a lot of debris (straw wrappers, napkins, crumbs, etc) and it just seemed very dirty. My first time trying this franchise at their new location on Orange Ave in downtown Orlando, where I live, around 4pm. I walked in to place my order at the counter. The store and drive thru was empty of customers and the workers were talking amongst themselves. I ordered a 2 piece w/ fries and a roll and paid an extra $1.60 for the breast substitute (I don't even know if they sell wings) which came up to $11.50 for the 2 pieces of chicken with some fries and a dinner roll. My order was taken by one worker and filled by another who brought the order to me at the counter. My first mistake was not checking the order in the car before leaving and waiting until I got home to open the bag because I got a thigh and a leg with my fries and roll, which was not what I paid for. Disappointing to have paid extra for nothing because of the inattentiveness of the counter person, who filled the order, in a store empty of any other customers but me! My second mistake was paying $11.50 for 2 pieces of chicken with some fries and a dinner roll. The drive thru lady was very rude.I order the chicken sandwich combo and she ask what side, I answered and she immediately just says come to the window. I ask ma'am and the drink, you never asked what I wanted. Then she rudely says the combo doesn't come with a drink. So I order a drink.
