Ana did my pedicure and LE did my BF pedicure and we got the deluxe option and it was a very pleasant visit. All the employees were so comical and made our experience really fun and made my day since I laughed so much! Decor: it's decent looking. Nicer than other places but not super fancy but the pedicure chairs were super comfy and nice looking and their decor is cute. Customer service: I give them a 5 out of 5. I had such a great time and the pedicure was really awesome. They were super busy but did not rush us at all or doing their job. Quality work is what I like. Also they had this thing between each other if they spoke viet, they had to pay a dollar and it went towards their holiday party. It was quite a spectacle to watch because they joke around with one another. I loved it! My pedicure chair was so comfy!! Where do I even begin with this place? I have been coming here since 8 years ago, they have seen me since my college days, through pregnancy, and now with my 4 year old son, and I have only gone elsewhere to get my nails/waxing done if I was out of the country/town. I get everything done from mani/pedi, I've tried gel, regular, acrylic, dip powder, you name it, and also all kinds of waxing. Brazilian, lip, eyebrow, underarm, full legs, tummy, arms, but only stick to Brazilian, lip and eyebrows now that I no longer wax the rest. I don't do lash extensions, but I have seen many people who have and they look great! I love getting my wax done there. Their pedicures are very relaxing and the nail polish will stay on longer than a month without getting chipped and I only use regular nail polish, no gel on my toes. Their manicures are amazing! I am currently in love with doing dip powder for my manis, but I have enjoyed doing regular, gel, and acrylic here before. Whatever you ask for, they will pay great attention to it and do whatever it is you need to have done. I keep my nails pretty simple, and they always do a great job keeping them looking clean and classy and super cute, and the perfect length I like to keep them at. I have been able to grow out my natural nails and do the dip powder directly on them because they don't shave my nails down so much and my nails are healthy as they are. I wish I had taken more pictures of my mani/pedis over the years, but I only have the recent ones as my old phone has been destroyed and I don't even any old pictures anymore :( I love all of the employees there, but I have to say my favorite people I keep asking for over and over and over again are Le, Trinity, Nancy, and Hannah (I hope I spelled their names right). If you ever need to get your nails, was, or las extensions done I definitely recommend this place and they will take great care of you! Also, bring cash if you can, they will most likely discount for you if you're a student too. If you can't pay full in cash, at least tip in cash. They prefer that. I have referred a lot of my friends and coworkers and they have ditched their nail ladies to come here ;) that says a lot. I used to live one block away from them and that's how I discovered this place. Now I live 30 minutes away and I still only come here. P.S. I got my nails done for my trip to Florida in September and they stayed on until Halloween and everyone thought they were my Halloween nails and kept complimenting me on them as if I had just gotten them done the week before Halloween. So I'll go by saying that I've had some pretty mediocre experiences with nail salons. Either they're too rough. Not attentive to detail. Rough as hell. In a hurry. You get the picture. POOR experiences. I was super skeptical with coming here because of the mixed reviews but alas, I was swayed by the outweighing factors. Nearby where I live. Decent rating. Closed 30min before I decided to roll out of bed. DONE. I get there and was greeted within a timely fashion. I get it, I showed up right at closing like THAT guy. Nonetheless, they spewed out gentle instructions. I sat down. Boom. She goes to work but she did something that I haven't had done in SUCH a long time. *dramatic pause* *queue tears* She asked HOW I wanted my nails shaped... Instantly I fell in love. And from that point moving forward, the rest of the experience was damn pleasant. No need to state that I WILL be back. I wouldn't even think about going to this nail salon again. I called ahead to make an appointment- on arrival I wasn't even acknowledged by anyone for a good 4 minutes. I mean, they all saw me but just started at me. I eventually asked someone for help- I think it was the manager, she told me i'd have to wait 10 mins- I waited and then she (overly) begrudgingly came and sat me down frowning. She then proceeded to file my nails so aggressively that I had to snatch my hands back several times saying 'you are hurting me', Each time she pulled my hand back and ignored me whilst frowning more. She then said very rudely 'if you want polish off I have to file nail'. I asked if she could do this without making my cuticles bleed. At this point she stomped off saying something to her coworkers. Whilst I was waiting for her to come back, I decided to check out the place on Yelp- just to make sure I hadn't found this place en route to a different nail spa. I placed my phone back on the table and she saw what I was looking at. At this stage it was like she's had a personality transplant, she was referring to me as 'honey' and saying things like 'sorry for hurting you, I always try my best for my customers' etc, really going overboard. She started complimenting me on everything I was wearing etc- it was bizarre and an obvious reaction to her thinking perhaps I was mid writing a bad review about the place. My nails looked OK (apart from the cuticles) but they only lasted 4 days before they ALL started peeling. This place was far from relaxing or pleasant, the customer service is terrible and they're next to a drumming studio and keep the door open so you can hear the loud traffic. There is no way I would go back after that experience and would suggest others look elsewhere as there are definitely better options out there read more

I got a full acrylic set with gel polish for $45. The lady worked fast & had a lot of experience with nails. However the reason why I'm giving it 3 stars was the unsanitary tools. She used the nail clippers on me but she had gotten it out of a tupper plastic container where I'm guessing the rest of the tools were just sitting in. I didn't hear a splash or any cleaning solution in there. When she did use them on me, they appeared to be dirty. This is a health concern because skin fungi can spread easily through sharing equipment. She also didn't trim cuticles (glad she didn't now because the equipment could me dirty) anyways, will be taking my business somewhere else because a skin infection is not worth it. read more

I've been going to this place for 7 years now and I love how professional they are mostly in terms of doing nails. Every single time I got my nails done it was literally perfect. I also love the staff. They are very sweet and very hardworking. They try their hardest to provide you with the best service they possibly can. It does get busy a lot and people get frustrated of waiting but it really is worth the wait so try to make enough time if you don't have an appointment and bring enough cash. Pretty busy on a Wednesday evening, but they managed to squeeze me in without an appointment. Good selection of polishes, though not as many dark colors as I'd hoped for. There seem to be a lot of the trendier glitter and neons, which is not for me. I just got my nails done yesterday so I can't speak to how long it will last, but the quality seems good so far! Perfectly painted and cuticles all cared for. I got a gel mani and regular pedi, and it was just under $50 before tip. I'll divide my review into two parts to be fair: Physical Service: I got a standard pedicure, which was good. It was around $30 bucks. The massage part of the pedicure was perfunctory. I give the actual nail service a 3/5. Customer Service: This was not good. The nail specialists asked me & my friend if we wanted to add-on manicures. We agreed. When our pedicures were reaching completion, I asked if the manicures were still happening. An employee who was not directly working on either of our pedicures but had been part of the "us getting a manicure"-proponent group, very aggressively and loudly said "WHY YOU DIDN'T SAY BEFORE." I calmly but directly replied that we had clearly agreed to get manicures after the staff offered them to us. She left the conversation unfinished. It was very rude, especially considering that the manicure was a service the specialists had pushed for us to add-on. I give the customer service a 1/5. Averaging these, the experience was a 2/5. I despise rudeness, so I'm never going back. read more

I've been to this salon several times before and my most recent experience was extremely disappointing. I went to get a gel pedicure and an acrylic set. The gel pedicure was well. However the acrylic manicure was horrible experience. The woman who was doing my nails was going extremely fast. I don't even believe they used EMA I believe it was MMA since the acrylic was extremely hard and lacked any form of flexibility. The shapes of the acrylic was horrible even despite my gentle pleads of making the shape of the nails more realistic and not too thick. When I paid at the front I told the one of the lead members of the nail salon I wasn't pleased with my service and she told me to come back the following day or week but I had plans to go out of town. Once I got back I went to another salon to take off the set and it took nearly several intervals of dipping my hands in acetone plus drilling to remove the acrylic that was placed on by polished nail staffer. While the staff is nice and friendly, that was my last time going back. Quite frankly, they rush certain clients and have numerous people working on one person which makes for a hastily/rushed outcome on the manicure/pedicure service. They do not care about the health of the clients nails. read more

This is my #1 nail shop- i've been coming for years, after too many bad nail jobs or negative experiences at other shops in the area. So yes - I love Polished Nail Spa! They are SO friendly (genuinely friendly) they are super clean, reasonably priced, do quality work, have tons of services and colors to chose from. I also get waxing here and Lee does a AMAZING job! They are up on the newest trends (dip, clear-acrylic, magnetic, ombré, mood polish) But the also are so good at simple classy nails with deluxe add ons like hot stone massages, paraffin masks and sea salt scrubs. they do great line work if you want a more elaborate design. The clientele is mostly berkeley ladies, some students. oh and the sandals they have are the really nice thick flip-flop, not those horrible paper thin ones that some places give, where you feel everything you walk on and have to pray you make it to your car without getting a hole. read more

Overall I find the place a bit stressful. The ladies did a good job on my nails, just cleaning and painting them. My chief complaint is that they generally appear very dismissive, and during the time I was there, everyone of them was chatting away, at times with me sitting in between and them chatting over me. I went to get my nails done as a form of self-care, and I walked away feeling more overwhelmed by the constant noise. I came here for a gel mani, and was not impressed. While they have several color selections and gel polish brands, the UV light they use to seal the gel is outdated. The color I picked from their keychain of samples (a bright pink) ended up being a completely different color than I picked. Still a shade of pink, so not a huge deal, but falsely represented nonetheless. My nails were poorly shaped, and the polish started chipping off within a week after my manicure. I have been getting gel for over a year at various salons, and I can only imagine that cutting a corner with their cheap and outdated UV light is to blame for this. They say that they accept credit cards, but will make a scene if you don't pay in cash. I overheard them bullying a woman into going to an ATM, which was concerning to me. The woman doing my nails reprimanded me for not bringing any cash (except $5 for her tip) and told me to remember to do so next time. read more

I've treated family members to mani-pedi's at Polished Nail. My sister and my aunt were very happy with the results. Lee and Lucy are their favorites- they obviously have many years of experience and are very personable. Waxing- Typically, my hair stylist would take care of this deed when I went in to get my hair cut. I'd be sitting in the chair where she washes my hair and she would wax my brows really quick. Some times I would cringe, knowing if she gave me a discount on the waxing, that my eye brows weren't perfect. I then tried a waxing salon in Albany. Wax was a little too hot for my comfort level. My search ended when I found Lee at Polished Nail Salon. Perfection is her middle name. I have brought in my aunt, sister and niece in to the store for manicures and pedicures. I don't know if Lee is the manager, but she seems like the coordinator of the place. I notice she does a great job managing the flow of customers in the early morning and late during the day. Last night I was chatting with a friend of mine at dinner and told her that I was ready to get my waxing done again by Lee. My friend said that she'd love to join me after hearing me rave on and on about her. I called Lee at 6:00 pm and asked her if she could squeeze us in. Whalla- we had an appointment at 6:45. Never thought I'd LOVE getting my eyebrows waxed while I was laying down. A friend of mine and I walked into this salon pretty late in the afternoon one day and decided we both wanted mani-pedis. The ladies here were very accommodating in taking both of us. There was a wait, but that was expected because we were both walk-ins. For about 3 hours, we were both pampered by the wonderful ladies that work here. All of them are very personable and kept us smiling throughout out entire session. Even though we kept them far past closing time, we were not rushed at all. The ladies took their time to make sure that our polish was perfect and that our nails air dried completely before we left. If I could give this nail spa no stars, I would. First and foremost, the tools are not sterilized between each customer. I saw almost every technician bring their basket of tools to the next person after previously using them on someone else. That is absolutely disgusting and not sanitary. Second, I came in and was told the wait would be 15 minutes. No problem...except that I waited nearly an hour, and I am not the only one. 3 people who came in after me waited almost an hour after being told the wait was only 20 minutes. One young woman even got up and left because she no longer had time to get her service. If the wait is an hour, please tell your customers this. Third, my technician asked if I had cash when I presented my debit card. If you want just cash, please post this information inside and on your window. I used to love this place even after one of the nail techs KIM infected my toe nail . I ended up going to someone else because I loved the customer service and Tran always did a great job. But honey I just need to leave this place alone seriously . I got a gel manicure last Friday for my birthday and Tran always does a good job but unfortunately one of my nails chipped after a week . I think they changed the polish or something because it seems cheap .I'm not too happy about that . But that's not it , I also got a Brazilian wax done which I regret smh . I usually get my wax elsewhere at my original spot but I was rushed for timing so i decided to let LEE do it , BIG MISTAKE !!!! . She was very rough. The way she was pulling the strips didn't even catch all the hair , and then to make matters worse it was very unsanitary ! She kept using the same strip with HAIR to finish waxing . Yes I said it she didn't use a new strip she kept using the same nasty ass strip with hair and wax. I asked her "your not going to use a new strip ?" After she was finished I felt a burn like my skin was ripped off . She did a horrible job . It's been a week and my hair is growing already smh .
