I tend to gravitate to restaurants carved in the model of an old home. That homely atmosphere tends to make the experience more tasteful. Plus, Polanquito is family-owned and ran, exactly what I was looking for. The homemade Pork Cracklings with guacamole was so delicious and a unique twist in terms of an appetizer. The main dish of Green Pipian Mole w/Pork Ribs sealed the deal on Polanquito being one of the better breakfast/brunch spots I have been to in Houston. Wow, glad I found this place! By far one of my favorite places to go to breakfast now. The Veracruzan picaditas are soooo good! As I looked at other people's food, I could see myself returning to try many other delicious plates. My secret to finding Houston's hidden gems is to never make a brunch reservation and drive around until I find a place with no wait time haha. This was one of those instances and I have to say, I outdo myself every time. A friend and I happened to stop here after striking out 2 other places before since they had no tables and extended wait times. The location was so cute! I loved the simplicity of the table decor. They have repurposed a variety of tins for things like flowers and the bill. The brunch menus was really good and they sell fresh chicharrones!
