Arrived at 9:08pm after a long shift at work to find that the door was locked and they were cleaning up. Have their hours changed? If so, a hand written sign at the least would suffice. So disappointing!

    stale fish

My sister & I went to Poke Bar for lunch craving fresh salmon & tuna poke. Quality of fish was beyond disappointing. I thought sour taste of fish was from ponzu sauce but fish really was stale. Serving stale food is not acceptable no matter what.

    thai tea

i had a great day with my cousins and craved poke, so we decided to hit up this since it was nearby. the server didn't greet us nor had the proper customer service to let us know he was busy regardless being by himself. he prioritized solely the to go orders and then finally looked up while we were reading the menu for about good 5 mins to say "give me 3 mins" and continued on restocking the trays. now don't get me wrong, i use to work in the food industry as well. i know solo hours can be the worse and unpredictable, but customer service requires patience and multitasking. a simple "welcome" and "let me know if you have any questions" can go far, but being dismissive with a condescending tone/attitude isn't alright. onto the food, i purchased it at 7:33 pm, and i'm not sure what is going on, but it is now 11:28pm writing this after feeling sick and running a fever from the food. the fish probably wasn't maintained well and i didn't even finish the rest after the 2 bites i took in hopes that i wasn't just tasting it weirdly. the thai tea is what's killing me the most at the moment as i knew something was funky earlier. he offered us a taste test on both the milk tea and thai tea. upon tasting the milk tea, it was sour like lemons or something and i damn near spit it out. the thai tea was fine at first but as soon as i got home, i don't think the milk or cream should've hardened that quickly.... (pictures included) nonetheless, i'm sorry to the workers, but this is not ok. people can get severely sick. if management isn't training the team properly, the rest of the team follows the same way. like is the food handler certificate up to date?

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was my first time ordering Poké and I don't think I'll order another Poké again unless it's a reputable establishment. My disappointment is immeasurable. First, upon entry the server did not greet us and told us to wait for 3-5 min until he got the Togo orders ready. Keep in mind, we were still deciding what to order, but he didn't ask us if we were ready. Next, the server was chewing gum while he took our order. I never in my years of food handling that I witness a server chew gum in front of me. Part of the FDA test mentions that a food handler should never chew gum and this server violated that code. Another issue I had with our server was that some items were not available including drinks which he should've mentioned first hand when we were checking out. Lastly, the drinks such as the milk tea and thai tea were the most vile and rancid things we tasted. My cousins literally gagged and said that they were getting cold sweats as soon as we left the building. I used to work at a boba shop and this was a huge disappointment for my taste buds to witness. The server did warn us that if we wanted to taste it and to see if it was bad, but the picture will determine if the drinks are good or bad; you decide. The ambiance was quiet and the server had no intention of putting music in the background. Instead he used his AirPods while taking order. The server did not greet us nor had a smile when we entered the building. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit and you have lost a potential customers.

    Medium poke. And miso soup
    Janina S.

First time here. Every time I go to the gym I see this place and finally I got to stop by and I could say I loved it how that I've been missing out I got a medium poke and a side of miso soup. Everything for around $20 including tip. Parking is available right in the front. Very fast and the go.

Messy bar and example of how there is mixture of fishes

I would like to submit a complaint about a location in Hawthorne Torrance. April 6th time of 6:20 I went to order 2 bowls which I noticed that the area of the fishes were not clean and I let the server know that I have a member who is allergic to salmon so asked to make sure there is no salmon touching the food which it was.( I have a picture evidence) The server still ended up scooping the food which salmon was mixed in so I let him know to please make sure it's not from the pile since I don't want to take the risk. But server responded by arguing with me that there is no salmon mixed which I can clearly see there is and I also took a picture of. I respectfully ask that he takes this serious and do a new clean mix without salmon and he went in the back to get more clean food which he's throwing the bowls around with giving me nothing but attitude. When mixing the food he did not mix any of the food. He squeezed all of the food together. This is such a bad behavior even letting the person know how dangerous it will be if there is any salmon in food. I did pay for the meal but ended up throwing the order away because I do not feel safe for my family to eat a meal prepare by someone who doesn't care about a safety of a customer, which rather see that a family member end up in a hospital. Because when letting him know that there is salmon in the mixture he responds "no there is not, even if there is l, it won't be harmful." I request that someone reaches out to me and hear me out because I am very frustrated about this when I am a paying customer. The guy should be fired

The salmon had a really extreme fishy taste and the texture was disgusting. I don't think this is safe to eat. Also the store itself smells really bad, I'm concerned about the safety of the food here.

    Juan M.

Very cool little spot I came to while I was in the area. Parking outside was rough and tight spots everywhere. The two guys insider were very kind and helped me order immediately! It's basically station to station where you order the poke bowl you want. The fish itself was not that though. Really a bummer because it looked very good, but the smell was incredibly fishy by the time I got home to eat it. Maybe it was an off day? But that was very off putting.

I am disappointed in myself for waiting this long to try Ueno Sushi. I've been driving by this location on Carson st for 10 years. It used to be something else (Thai maybe?) before it was a sushi restaurant. I think it was something else before that. I never went here because I thought the food would be mediocre given the history of changes but I was so wrong. SO WRONG! I came here on a Friday night for a party of 1 and while the restaurant was full and many customers were coming in for their reservations, I did not have to wait. The Sashimi Combo 10pc was surprisingly generous. Every single piece of sashimi was huge. I honestly thought they forgot to cut each piece in half lol. It also comes with a bowl of rice, salad, and miso soup. I finished the night with blue fin toro sushi. For those who might find themselves confused like me, this is labeled Sushi on the menu, but it is better labeled as nigiri -- the sashimi on a small ball of rice. It comes with two pieces and the tuna was HUGE. I almost couldn't see the rice! I was blown away by what I was getting but it makes sense given the price I was paying. I was so happy. Overall, great food, wonderful portion sizes. Downside is the pricing but it matches what you're getting. The biggest downside is the parking. It is a small parking lot so you may have to get street parking. Other than that, I'm coming back.

I found Waraku while we were shopping at Walmart and figured it was nearby, they have seafood, which she will eat, and the quality looks prime. It is the corner space of an outdoor plaza, most known for the 85C Bakery off of Carson. If you enter the lot from Abalone Ave, youʻll see it right away. The exterior is very unassuming, but interior is spacious, clean and contemporary Japanese. The service is excellent and the quality is very good. I want to say the price is reasonable for the quality you are getting. It is more like a ala cart experience, so it can get pricey real fast! I did get my steak (Angus NY strip loin) and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. I wouldʻve liked it a little more charred on the outside, but it was still great. She got the A5 wagyu teppanyaki and crab which was very fresh. Those were off the appetizer menu so those portions were VERY small. We both ordered one piece each of shrimp tempura, which was really good (big, fresh piece of shrimp) and crispy clean batter. Iʻm still on the search for the best shrimp tempura tho. Iʻm talking light airy batter with the panko like crust. This wasnʻt that, but it was very very good. I need to go back for the daily seafood bowls, which looked like the real star here.

After asking whether we wanted more drinks and hearing that we were fine, they brought the bill almost immediately, which made it feel like they were trying to push us out. Meanwhile, other tables that arrived before us were still comfortably dining and talking. We had also ordered more than enough food--honestly more than several other tables around us--so there was no reason for our table to be rushed out. Most restaurants typically allow at least a two-hour dining window, yet we ended up leaving in just about one hour because the pressure to leave was so obvious. Ironically, the food was actually excellent, but the staff's behavior completely overshadowed the meal and made it hard to even remember how good the food was. Taking a while for the six people to order so I nudged her and I asked her to move and she seemed upset that I did that but didn't say anything no apology so it was very uncomfortable and I was rushing through my food so I burnt my tongue on the hot soup again even though I knew it was hot because I just wanted to get out of there. And then when I was done, I had to wait a while for the check and then they couldn't process the Apple Pay at the table so then I had to go to the front and wait for somebody to attend to me there overall this experience was not fun and stressful and I had got there right when they opened. I sure wish I had selected a different seat!! I wouldn't get the Nabeyaki soup again. It was really big and had a lot of end pieces of tough napa cabbage. There were two pieced of shitake mushroom and the standard thin fish cake slice. There was and egg in the soup and a three small chicken pieces. On the side were three small pieces of green bean and two tempura shrimp.
