First time! I live less than a mile away and actually never knew about this place! Poke Bar is a small restaurant with few seats indoors. I got the large poke bowl with 4 proteins. I got two portions of salmon, octopus, and spicy tuna. The quality is good. I got all the toppings loaded onto my poke bowl except pineapple. I got avocado which was $1 more. Avocado is a great value here. You get a lot for $1. I tried to order milk tea but the employee said they didn't make milk tea for some reason and could only make honeydew or taro. So I passed on the drinks. I thought this place is solid poke bowl place. Would definitely be back since I live close by. read more

After a long day of errands, I pre-ordered a medium bowl for take-out with salmon and octopus as the proteins, a base of the spring mix/greens and most of the toppings. While it was a delicious meal overall, I was a disappointed in that the medium bowl was mainly consisted of spring mix greens with very little actual salmon and octopus poke. I wonder if it would've been different had I placed my order in person and watch them make it. read more

I'm really disappointed with my experience here. I ordered the tuna and a few hours later became extremely sick with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. It was bad enough that it completely ruined my day and required me to rest and recover. Food safety should be a top priority for any restaurant, especially when serving fish. Based on my experience, I'd strongly suggest the restaurant review how their tuna is stored and handled. I hope this was a one-off issue, but I wanted to share my experience so others are aware. read more

Surprised to see so many bad reviews as this one of my go-to lunch spots for work. However, I admittedly only have ordered delivery so I have never physically been in the restaurant - which is where I see most of the complaints. I also only ever order kale noodles and salad as my base, so I can't comment on the bad reviews for rice. I actually love the kale noodles and re-order form this place because I love having that option. I always get spicy tuna, salmon, and scallop as my proteins and I have never noticed any issues with them. They have a lot of toppings options which I love because a lot of poke places don't have this many. Their wasabi is strong which I also love because for some reason I love to burn my nostrils when I eat poke! Overall a solid delivery option and will continue to order from them! read more

i had a great day with my cousins and craved poke, so we decided to hit up this since it was nearby. the server didn't greet us nor had the proper customer service to let us know he was busy regardless being by himself. he prioritized solely the to go orders and then finally looked up while we were reading the menu for about good 5 mins to say "give me 3 mins" and continued on restocking the trays. now don't get me wrong, i use to work in the food industry as well. i know solo hours can be the worse and unpredictable, but customer service requires patience and multitasking. a simple "welcome" and "let me know if you have any questions" can go far, but being dismissive with a condescending tone/attitude isn't alright. onto the food, i purchased it at 7:33 pm, and i'm not sure what is going on, but it is now 11:28pm writing this after feeling sick and running a fever from the food. the fish probably wasn't maintained well and i didn't even finish the rest after the 2 bites i took in hopes that i wasn't just tasting it weirdly. the thai tea is what's killing me the most at the moment as i knew something was funky earlier. he offered us a taste test on both the milk tea and thai tea. upon tasting the milk tea, it was sour like lemons or something and i damn near spit it out. the thai tea was fine at first but as soon as i got home, i don't think the milk or cream should've hardened that quickly.... (pictures included) nonetheless, i'm sorry to the workers, but this is not ok. people can get severely sick. if management isn't training the team properly, the rest of the team follows the same way. like is the food handler certificate up to date? read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was my first time ordering Poké and I don't think I'll order another Poké again unless it's a reputable establishment. My disappointment is immeasurable. First, upon entry the server did not greet us and told us to wait for 3-5 min until he got the Togo orders ready. Keep in mind, we were still deciding what to order, but he didn't ask us if we were ready. Next, the server was chewing gum while he took our order. I never in my years of food handling that I witness a server chew gum in front of me. Part of the FDA test mentions that a food handler should never chew gum and this server violated that code. Another issue I had with our server was that some items were not available including drinks which he should've mentioned first hand when we were checking out. Lastly, the drinks such as the milk tea and thai tea were the most vile and rancid things we tasted. My cousins literally gagged and said that they were getting cold sweats as soon as we left the building. I used to work at a boba shop and this was a huge disappointment for my taste buds to witness. The server did warn us that if we wanted to taste it and to see if it was bad, but the picture will determine if the drinks are good or bad; you decide. The ambiance was quiet and the server had no intention of putting music in the background. Instead he used his AirPods while taking order. The server did not greet us nor had a smile when we entered the building. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit and you have lost a potential customers. read more

Poké Bar - Medium poke. And miso soup - Sushi Bars Near Me - Torrance, California

This was my first time visiting, and unfortunately, it didn't leave a great impression. When I walked in, no one greeted me or offered any help, even after I stood there for a few minutes trying to figure things out on my own. When I finally did, the guy behind the counter seemed annoyed and in a bad mood. When it came time to pick my proteins, I wasn't aware that I got three. Instead of explaining it kindly, he just said, "You get three" in a dismissive way. After that, he took me to check out, and that was the extent of the interaction-no effort to make the experience welcoming at all. The food itself was just okay, but definitely overpriced. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the lack of customer service and overall vibe were disappointing. I'll be looking for other poke spots instead. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. As soon as you walk in the place smells like dirty rags. I ordered a medium bowl today with albacore and shrimp as my proteins. As soon as I took the first bite I realized something was off. The food had no flavor and the fish tasted weird. After a few more bites o realized some of the albacore was still frozen and in the process of thawing out. I don't understand why that would ever be served to a customer. I ended up throwing my food away. What a waste of $18. Never going back. read more

Very cool little spot I came to while I was in the area. Parking outside was rough and tight spots everywhere. The two guys insider were very kind and helped me order immediately! It's basically station to station where you order the poke bowl you want. The fish itself was not that though. Really a bummer because it looked very good, but the smell was incredibly fishy by the time I got home to eat it. Maybe it was an off day? But that was very off putting. read more

I would like to submit a complaint about a location in Hawthorne Torrance. April 6th time of 6:20 I went to order 2 bowls which I noticed that the area of the fishes were not clean and I let the server know that I have a member who is allergic to salmon so asked to make sure there is no salmon touching the food which it was.( I have a picture evidence) The server still ended up scooping the food which salmon was mixed in so I let him know to please make sure it's not from the pile since I don't want to take the risk. But server responded by arguing with me that there is no salmon mixed which I can clearly see there is and I also took a picture of. I respectfully ask that he takes this serious and do a new clean mix without salmon and he went in the back to get more clean food which he's throwing the bowls around with giving me nothing but attitude. When mixing the food he did not mix any of the food. He squeezed all of the food together. This is such a bad behavior even letting the person know how dangerous it will be if there is any salmon in food. I did pay for the meal but ended up throwing the order away because I do not feel safe for my family to eat a meal prepare by someone who doesn't care about a safety of a customer, which rather see that a family member end up in a hospital. Because when letting him know that there is salmon in the mixture he responds "no there is not, even if there is l, it won't be harmful." I request that someone reaches out to me and hear me out because I am very frustrated about this when I am a paying customer. The guy should be fired read more

One of the worst poke experiences I've ever had. I paid almost $20 for a bowl that was 95% old, dry rice. The person who made it was incredibly stingy with everything -- barely any protein, veggies, or sauce. And worse than that, their attitude was awful. They looked annoyed, had zero friendliness, and treated every customer like we were bothering them. It felt like they were rationing the food as if it were coming out of their own fridge at home. I was honestly shocked. I've always gone to Pho & Poke and loved it, but today I decided to try this Poke Bar since I was next door picking up salon supplies. Huge mistake. Never again. read more

I've had Poké Bar before, but this was our first time going to this specific location. I'm sorry, but that Milk Tea was GROSS. When we said we wanted to order Milk Tea and Thai Tea he literally said "Do you want to try it first because I'm not sure if it's good." He gave us some to try in those little sauce containers and rest assured that was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. The Milk Tea tasted very sour and pungent. If I could describe its taste, I'd say it was like sewer water and rotten milk that's been sitting out for weeks. Right after, I began gagging, felt like throwing up so bad, and had cold sweats all over my body as I was driving us home. These are the exact symptoms I had before when I got food poisoned at another place so now I'm a bit terrified. In all honesty, I'm not sure why you would even have drinks like that available to purchase. Below, I attached pics of my cousin's Thai Tea that also tasted really bad. We noticed it had a bad smell and started foaming and crusting at the top which I'm sure Thai Tea shouldn't do that since we get drinks like this all the time. The service was just alright. The server guy seemed like he didn't even want to be there. Had earphones in and focused on other things before taking our order. The place didn't seem welcoming and was super quiet so we decided to just take our food home. When we got home, I couldn't even finish my food. I already got an upset stomach. I have a very sensitive stomach so I'm not sure if it was the Milk Tea that I tried or if it was anything in my poke bowl. I don't like to write negative reviews, but I felt this was absolutely necessary because someone could get sick or worse. read more

Upon entering, this place smells like a public toilet lmao. The fish is low quality and honestly I threw it out after one bite. I knew I should've just gone to Bafang Dumpling next door (which is rly good btw!) but I figured I'd try this place for a light lunch. I'm not really sure what happened to this place, but it's not what it was before. When I walked in there were two teenage guys behind the counter- one didn't even look up from his phone. Then I had the pleasure of my items being made with a side of iPhone- again, the guy couldn't put his phone down...even when filling my bowl. The quality and quantity have also diminished. My items were so putrid, I couldn't eat them. I'll be reversing the charges- not losing 20 bucks just to get sick and not eat dinner. I have to go through my bank because their phone number listed has been disconnected. Please get off your phones and make sure the food stays at appropriate temperatures- this is fish you're dealing with and I'm almost positive I'm going to get food poisoning. I almost threw up first bite. The kale was slimy like when it's gone bad and I won't describe the fish because I don't want to make you sick too. On my way out another couple was leaving, they made several remarks about how they're never going back. Get a manager in there who has the capacity to put their phone down. Unsanitary, unprofessional, and disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised if this business doesn't make it. Got the medium poke bowl which come with 3 proteins! Quality was good and taste was great! I love the options for base and toppings. They definitely have lots to choose from and they don't have much restrictions on how many toppings or sauces to choose from unlike other poke stores. You can also ask for sauces on the side. The service was nice and quick. The smell in the store could highly be improved, but at least you know they clean. Other than that, I recommend this place! Overall nice location and clean, somewhat good staff depending on the day. It's my second visit from a year ago, hoping to give the place another chance but seriously not satisfied with the quality of salmon. I am super picky when it comes to Poke. Some of the places are just not clean enough or their items in containers waiting to be used by staff look dry or just not good. This place, Poke Bar puts all my fears to rest. I love it and so does my family. You want it they have it and they make it so easy to order. It is on the wall. First, you choose your size. I find a medium is great, almost too much. I could never eat a large, but I have shared one with my grandson. Second, you pick your base, white rice, brown rice, kale, spring mix or kale noodle. I love their white rice. My husband goes for the kale and my grandson enjoys the spring mix. Next, grab your protein, salmon, tuna, tofu, spicy tuna, tuna and a few others. You then want your mix and sauce. You can get anything from pineapple to corn or mango and there are others. Their side include things like avocado, seaweed, ginger and fake crab (don't care for that one). They also have side dishes, sometimes I just want their rice and other times I stop in for Miso Soup. It is all great. This is really one of the only poke places I love to go to. I will do the 30 minute drive to get there. The prices are fair and the service is really great. Have fun. read more

I actually have been here twice, and the only reason I was back for a second time its because this is the only healthy fast meal place I could think of after leaving the gym at 8 pm. I was very disappointed at the customer service the first time, we came 15 min before their closing time and the guy there told us we close in 15 min so I cannot serve you. However, he then said He would serve us but be fast? I mean just change the closing time to 15 mins earlier instead of being rude.. On top of that, he arrogantly served our food (or rather threw at us..) while using the rudest tone. Food was good and I will leave you some pictures in case you feel the need to go.. but make it there 4 hours before their closing time so that you don't feel like you are begging for food.
