Miyabi Uni is everything uni. Almost everything you order is gonna have uni incorporated into it. So get your wallet ready to pay a pretty penny. My family and wife and I just went ham and ordered a bunch of appetizers and food so sorry for not having any specific details here. Spoiler alert: everything had uni in it from pasta to chirashi bowls to sushi to carpaccio. So go for whatever your heart desires here. The tonkatsu was a little dry but acted as a nice filler/break from all the uni. Still, you might be better off just getting another pasta instead. So all in all, this is a great place for all your uni needs but it's a little pricey so be ready for that. They have a parking garage underneath the restaurant so you can utilize that if street parking is too limited, otherwise, this is a nice restaurant for special occasions.

We had our 521st monthly anniversary here and had a wonderful dinner. I love my sushi because the rice portion is perfect. It's small enough so you can appreciate the fish. When the rice is too much, you can't eat it in one bite like it's supposed to. We still love the uni shooters. We are going to try their sake pairing in July. It should be great. I can't wait!!

I love uni and I've always wanted to try Miyabi Uni. We stopped by on our way to Intuit Dome and the food didn't disappoint. We had the Uni and Toro donburi (rice bowl) and the signature Uni pasta (Japanese style w garlic Uni butter and soy sauce based sauce). Great umami flavors and plenty of Santa Barbara Uni. The ambiance was cozy and clean, while the service was friendly and warm. It was a great experience!

Came to Miyabi Uni as I was visiting my friend in Torrance and it was her suggestion after I said I wanted to try a Japanese place. Not too bad! Since this place specializes in uni, I obviously had to get something with uni. Was also craving toro, so I settled on the Uni Toro Donburi. Man this was great! Six pieces of toro and six pieces of uni. Well worth the price! Staff here was friendly, no complaints from me. Definitely worth a future visit.

I love uni, and I was in the area to give Miyabi Uni a try. Showed up as soon as it opened for lunch, and was promptly seated. Ordered the uni oysters ($18.95 for two) and the Miyabi signature uni pasta ($33.95). The uni oysters were beautifully-presented, even had caviar and gold leaf dust on top! Taste-wise, they were really good: briny, creamy, and slightly sweet. Highly recommend getting this! Uni pasta was tasty as well: decent portions with al-dente spaghetti and flavorful garlic sauce. Decent amount of uni on top; the uni was also slightly torched, which brought out a smoky-sweet taste which I enjoyed. Although it didn't blow me away as much as the uni oysters, it was still a yummy and satisfying dish. Prices are steep, but for special events and the occasional treat, Miyabi Uni offers fresh uni with decent portions, and it's worth a go!

El Prado Ave points the way from the park to Miyabi Uni, which is nestled within Plaza Del Prado in the heart of Old Torrance. Location is a notable feature of the restaurant, as its walkable surroundings are filled with bakeries, tea rooms, antique shops, and more. Miyabi Uni has been serving up quality sashimi rice bowls (donburi), hand rolls, and original creations for over a decade, and that experience shows. We opted for hot green tea and the toro and uni wrap to start off. The tea, although bagged, had a smooth and rich sencha-type flavor. We enjoyed the ponzu jelly and other unique elements of the wrap. The uni tasted fresh and sweet, signalling us to go ahead and have more. The Miyabi Kaisen donburi, recommended by our attentive server, was replete with deliciously tender cuts of salmon, tuna, roe, fresh uni, and more. The house uni hand roll was good, but we really enjoyed the salmon skin hand roll, which was brimming with crispy skin and grilled flavor...so much so that we ordered two. In summary, this staple of Old Torrance is a great place for curated bites of high-quality uni and other fresh seafood. However, the quality and location come with a price. Miyabi Uni is best enjoyed on a date or celebratory occasions to fully appreciate what it has to offer.

The fish is fresh here! They specialize in uni (hence the name) and have different varieties of uni. I love the donburi, uni pasta and fried oysters. They used to have happy hour, but they cancelled it in August 2025. They also have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly!

Great dining experience if you like uni and creamy/buttery foods. I went here for the birthday. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday lunch. The service is very prompt. Someone from my group couldn't have butter and they were accommodating. All the food had very balanced flavors. The miyabi Uni pasta was really good. Creamy but not too rich. Great presentation. The truffle fries were fun too. They give you a paper bag to mix in as much truffle salt as you would like. We used the entire thing! The salt also went great with the grilled squid. Would definitely recommend.

Don't think twice about coming here. I can't say enough good things about this place! I didn't personally care for the American Wagyu, but everything else was top notch. Just my preference. I'm sure if they had Japanese Wagyu it would be on par. The staff were very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. And the music! I was jammin' while eating. When I'm back in the area, this is absolutely a spot I'll rerun to. Definitely on my top five.

Pricy but good quality seafood! We came here for a dinner at 06:30 Pm on a Saturday wasn't too crowded. There are table and bar seating, we walked here since the hotel was near by. For food, we got oyster with uni, sashimi bowl, ankimo, and saba and ebi sushi a la carte. Ankimo-(9/10) got miso flavor didn't have a fishy smell fresh Oyster with uni (10/10)-must get! The ratio of uni ikura was perfect. Chirashi bowl (8/10)-sashimi could have been cut thinner but generous on sashimi for $50, could share with 2 people. Sushi (7/10)-nothing special but fresh as expected Overall fancy and a treat meal to come for special occasion. Would highly recommend for uni lovers!

Miyabi Kaisen small size, super delicious & fresh!

Miyabi Kaisen (comes with miso soup) was terrific, the House Green Salad with sea urchin dressing was amazing and the Miyabi Roll & Unagi Avocado Roll were both delicious as well. Had edamame & super yummy Chicken Karaage as well. Kudos to the sushi Chefs Xin & Carlos! Excellent friendly welcome & service from Roberto. Comfortable atmosphere with music lightly playing in the background. Highly recommend Miyabi Uni in Torrance, CA for delicious Japanese cuisine!

If Uni is in the name of the restaurant, then it's definitely a must try. It was nice to see that the wait staff were Japanese and I thought the chefs were too, but then I heard them speaking Spanish. That didn't quite ruin it for me, because if a master chef can teach his ways and it is followed, you would not know the difference. We came at the right time of the evening as they had happy hour options. Definitely had to order oysters for $1.50 each. Well worth it and so fresh. They had karaage octopus tentacles also for happy hour and they were delicious, but for $6.50, you only got 6 small pieces. As for our entrees, e has to try their creamy Uni pasta to compare to those we have had elsewhere. It was a slightly different preparation, but the taste was perfect. A very nice buttery and creamy taste of Uni and the right amount of sauce to pasta ratio. As for the reason we went to Miyabi Uni, we ordered the Uni Don Buri. We shared it which made it not enough, but as a single serving for one person, it would have been just the right amount of Uni and rice. Our server was very sweet. I tried my little bits of Japanese on her which really broke the ice. It almost made me feel like I was in Japan. We will definitely have to come back and try the many options they offer.

Miyabi Uni Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Miyabi Uni

I would like to try the pastas, are there eggs (as in chicken eggs) used in the pasta sauce?

Most of them are made of butter. I don't think there are eggs in the sauce but it could be in making of the pasta noodles.

Do they accept walk in with no reservations?

I've walked in without reservation before but it may depend on how busy they are. Highly recommend calling ahead of time to make sure.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / April 8, 2023

Yes it does but you need to call to reserve. It's covered all the time and heated (in the evenings).

Do they still have uni ice cream?

They did when I went in April.

Is there outdoor seating right now?

    Yes, they have patio seating.

Do you have happy hours on weekdays? if so, what is the menu?

Yes, they do. Their menu changes with specials. You should call them.

    How are the uni?

The uni is fresh! I'm certain they have Japanese Bafun uni and not just Santa Barbara uni. Bafun uni has more dense flavor and it's so much better than SB uni.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Yes :)

    Is this business kid friendly?

Yes. If they will eat from their menu. But it's pricey.

Do they still offer 7 course dinner with pairing?

Yes, we do but only on select dates! Our next event will be next Thurs Sept 20th. Please like our Facebook page or follow us on Instagrams for all announcements. Hope to see you soon!

Is the uni risotto available during lunch time?

    Yes!

    Are there happy hour specials?

They just started: Monday through Wednesday all night $1 oysters (minimum 6) and $3 Sapporo. They will add a happy hour menu in about 2 weeks.

Their menu specializes in Korean style premium seafood items. They have the option of live or not. They had different set options and items you can get a la carte. We went with their live fish and sashimi set C. We also got some live shrimp and live octopus to try. I love that the staff was super knowledgeable and explained everything to us. The live set included a lot of side dishes. It also included halibut and flounder, a platter of abalone, sea cucumber, cold soup, hot fish soup, calamari and vegetable tempura. All of which were amazing and tasted very fresh. The live octopus was definitely an experience. They tasted fresh and sweet and were very actively moving. If you want to try it I would definitely recommend trying it here. The chef was nice enough to have us try two types of nigiri. Both were amazing and fatty. The whole dinner was quite an experience. Since there were so many dishes they made sure to go in order but not rush us since many items were coming out. The staff was super attentive. Many items came with its own sauce so they made sure we were doing it right. We spent about $400 for 3 people which included alcohol. I thought it was fair especially for how fresh our seafood was. The inside of the restaurant is pretty casual but clean. You can also see most of the seafood items. I recommend if if you want live seafood items Korean style. We will be back.
