This place is adorable! Love the inside and outside area and the drinks were very good too. The bartender was a bit rude and didn't serve my friend and I for a while. Pokito may now be my favorite bar for starting off a night out. The inside is not only pretty, but all the designs are well thought out and tasteful. The bathroom has relaxing decor and even plays the sounds of the rainforest! It's a small bar that isn't crowded so space shouldn't be an issue, even with a larger group. Great spot for drinks! We arrived around 6:30pm for happy hour on a Wednesday, there were a few people but otherwise open and we were able to grab a table. By the time we left around 8:30pm-9pm it was getting full and every seat was taken, including their stadium seats along the entrance. The drinks were very tasty plus interesting like using thai tea infused rum. Service was friendly and fast however once it was getting crowded there was line as there was just one bartender at the time. I only wish they didn't use a green laser light projector against the wall where the tables are. It's right at eyeline and was blinding me no matter what angle I tried to sit at. Great for a pre-date night drinks or meeting some friends, I would say no more than 4-5 tho, it's not a huge space and tables can only seat about that many. read more

This is one of my favorite bars in Brooklyn! The location is small but the decorations are super fun and funky - they immediately put me in a great mood. There's a decent chunk of outside seating and they have really great COVID-19 precautions. If you're dining outside, you can order via a window and can scan the menu through your phone. The drinks are absolutely amazing. My favorite drinks are the Paloma and Rick Ross - both are fantastic for spicy cocktails and aren't super sweet. They have a great amount of flavor and if you're into frozen drinks, the Yuz + Me is super yum, but a little more sweet than the Paloma and Rick Ross. This place gets super busy so definitely take advantage during off hours or on Sunday (when they have an amazing happy hour all day deal). They also have a really great hot sauce (which I definietely suggest taking home, if you're into spicy homemade hot sauce - it's absolutely delicious). I finished the bottle in 2 days. read more

I saw this spot in Time Out recently, and since I'm trying to explore my new neighborhood I walked over. It's brightly lit inside and out, so I couldn't miss it. Also there was nothing else open on that street. It's pretty small, and sort of reminds me of if my grandmother decorated Christmas, but mixed with smart light bulbs. I just installed those in my new place, the kind that you can control with Alexa. I made one room purple and one room blue and another one orange. I only do that after work. It's way too trippy to wake up to colored lights and then have to walk outside and go into an office. It really confuses reality if I mess with the light bulbs in the morning. But, the bulbs also have timers so I set all that up and don't have to worry about it. Some of my friends think that my Alexa is listening in to everything but I don't really care, because mostly I just talk to the light bulbs at home. read more

I've heard about Pokito for a while now being that I only work a few blocks away. Decided to give them a try and order some delivery being that I had a discount from Caviar. Glad I gave them a try because the food is delicious!! Delivery was massively quick with a friendly delivery guy. They don't have a huge menu, but what the do have is worth is. I was slightly bummed that they called to tell me they didn't have any coconut rice (as their menu stated they did). How can you not have that staple?? I really love the Asian-Latin American twist on the food. I really only have two words when it comes to this place. YUCA FRIES!!! Hot damn they are amazing! Really soft and fluffy on the inside and the Gochujang mayo (great heat) goes PERFECTLY with them! I can eat them and use that dip for days on end. I also got the market bowl. It was $12 and consisted of grains, grilled sesame eggplant, Japanese yam, seared greens, shiitake, and house pickle. It was out of this world but they barely filled the take-out container. You hardly get anything for twelve bucks. Total rip-off but I must say it was delicious. I would love to give this place another try. Have a dine in experience. Had a fantastic meal here. Love the Japanese/Latin twist, keep those yucca fries coming. Cocktails were strong, Presidentes were cold, and each dish was better than the next. Get the yucca fries and ceviche to start, then the crispy brown rice and fish bowl, and then the congee. The specials were on point too. Homemade hot sauce and casabe to start was a nice touch.
