I was craving Hawaiian poke, as one does. My usual spot is North Shore Poke in Huntington Beach. Their fish is fresh every day and just AMAZING. So, being in Brea and knowing all of these "fast-casual" Poke spots are opening... I gave this one a try. The concept is just like Chipotle, but instead of 3 main steps -there are 5 steps, which gets confusing. The fish conceptually scares me because it's just sitting out in front of you, which I am sure is totally fine, but visually it makes me weary. The line took about 10 minutes with only about 5 people in the queue, which to me isn't awesome in the speed category. Although in the spirit of comparisons, I have waited over 10 minutes for Chipotle. So now I have this mix of fish and other crap that I don't know how to say in a plastic bowl... The taste is good enough to satisfy my craving for poke. But is it awesome? No. I wouldn't say the fresh feeling is here... The rice wasn't even very warm. I probably won't go back but I might give Pokinometry a try before I boo all of these fast-casual poke spots. **updating my review to two stars because 3 hours after eating it, I'm burping up the taste. Decent alternative to Pokinometry, but I still would choose Pokinometry. I like that the bowls are wider and you can mix your food better but unsure if you might be getting less in quantity. I also like you can get a few different types of topping, but I didn't like that it didn't have as many choices in fish. I'm a big fan of yellowtail and they don't carry that. read more

I for one love assembly-line Poki ... I know it is not traditional but it is so good to have it your own way. I work in breath and have been driving down to Anaheim for Pokinometry. I do love that place but it's a little bit of a stretch to drive down there find parking and then wait in line for a half hour to get a bowl. Very fresh and tasty poki bowls. Tried the tuna and spicy tuna with ponzu, spicy mayo and sesame oil. They offer a multitude of add-ins, ie, crab, avocado, edamame, corn, cucumber, etc. The staff was efficient and friendly. I think this place beats Pokinometry. Parking is quite limited but you can park in the residential area around the corner. read more

Horrible horrible service !!! The short again girl is brain dead, after being told 3 times not to put crab in the bowl she still put crab in. She just laughed about it. It's like a bunch of kids are working here. They had a line almost out the door and they were still playing around and speaking a different language laughing. They would sneak outside to go on their phones while having a line. Then they would go to the back room where you could hear them all laughing. Very unprofessional place. The food was ok. They sayid they open at 10 on website but when I went there they said they open at 11 so I had to go back. I found this to be extremely disappointing because I was looking to start my day off with a nice fresh bowl of Poké before I went to school. After the disappointment I came back during the night after my classes were over to get a tuna poké bowl. The service seemed like they were slightly annoyed and did not want to be bothered. Also the portions seemed a little small and stingy compared to other places. I am paying $13 for a large so I am expecting both quantity and quality. Nice little place if you want to grab a quick bite to eat and looking for something healthy. They don't have the biggest selection of fish, but quality isn't bad. I wouldn't say they have the freshest fish, but there isn't any fishy after taste. I've brought a few friends there and they all enjoyed their bowls. You can customize your bowls to however you want through various toppings, proteins, sauces, and sides. The only limiting factor to me is the selection of poke. They usually have salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, albacore, and shrimp. Overall, good food for a decent price. A large bowl will run you close to $13 after tax. Don't go too hungry though as it may not fill you up completely. read more

I live right around the corner so it is convenient for a quick walk to get some poke. I first got the ponzu saice and it was a refreshing flavor. Second time i got the spicy mayo, it was good but there was too much of it. The fish is fresh and delicious, the toppings are really good. I love this place! It's right down the street from my office and I can't get enough! Love the environment, how many sides they give you and all the options they have. If you love spicy, try their hottest hot sauce, I can only do the medium and I'm usually always asking for hotter at other places lol read more

I have come here a lot in the past. Its a decent poki place although it's always been a bit more pricey than other spots. I went in today and they have begun charging an extra $1 for a scoop of avocado. I figure even the biggest scoop is maybe 1/4 of the whole avocado, and when you can buy a large avocado for $1.50, the extra charge is quite a markup. Since this place was already at the high end of what I like to spend, I'll explore some of the other poki joints next time. read more

I had seen their banner while driving home from work but yesterday it was finally open!!!! I walk in and it's pretty much a subway style place only with rice bowls and fresh fish I got a large bowl with 5 scoops of fish. The bowl was big enough to share for 2. Fresh, fast, and yummy! I've been here a couple times since they opened. Service is ok, a little slow. It is chipotle style where they make your bowl in front of you. The best part about this place is all the sides they offer. They offer free avocados which is the best part! The fish is just average, but what can you expect from a quick service poke place. I tried this place tonight & I am a fan! It's a little pricer than the other poke places I've been to but it's totally worth it! You get an assortment of toppings which isn't always offered at other places & you can get as many as you want! They don't give you a limit to how many toppings!
