    Hair

The poke was fresh and tasted good, but unfortunately I found a hair in my food. This raises concerns about food safety and whether proper hygiene protocols, such as wearing hair nets and following sanitary preparation procedures, are being consistently followed. I hope this was an isolated incident, as the food itself was enjoyable, but I hope the restaurant takes steps to improve its food handling practices.

The portions here are huge!! At first I was surprised with the price for a regular, but they give so much. The fish tastes pretty fresh too. Overall I would come back again if I were in the area!

    Avocado smoothie

It's our second time here in just a week. The food is so good and refreshing. Also the regular bowl is loaded and more than enough food. Today we tried the taro and avocado smoothie. They def take pride in the food and service too! The girls that work there are so sweet!

I first discovered The Poke Co about 2-3 months ago. During my first visit, I scanned their barcode and signed up for their rewards program using my phone number. Pretty normal nowadays--restaurants have rewards programs to encourage customers to come back and earn points. Today was only my second time coming back. Before going to the restaurant, I decided to check the app because it was Saturday and I thought there might be a long line. I entered my phone number, received the verification code on MY phone, and successfully logged in. But once I got into the account, I saw someone else's first and last name. At first, I thought maybe it was just some kind of placeholder name like "Jane Doe." But then I looked closer. The account also showed that person's email address, an address in Alabama, and a favorite store in San Francisco. How is another customer's personal information showing up after I verified the account using my own phone number? That seriously concerns me. If rewards accounts are connected to phone numbers, how did my number become associated with someone else's name, email, address, and account information? I don't see why another customer would intentionally enter my phone number when they would need their own number to access their rewards. My natural instinct was to log out and delete the account just to be safe, which I did. And then it got even stranger. Immediately afterward, I received another text message on my phone saying that I had successfully unsubscribed from Cold Stone Creamery. Cold Stone Creamery??? I was using The Poke Co rewards account. At this point, I have no idea what is going on or whether these rewards programs are connected through the same third-party platform. I also don't know whether deleting the account affected the other person's rewards points or account. I'm not claiming to know whether this was a data breach, a technical error, an account-linking problem, or something else. But being able to log in using MY phone number and verification code and then see another person's name, email, address, and other account information is a serious privacy concern. If this happened to me, could someone else potentially log in and see my information too? The Poke Co, please investigate your rewards system and the company operating it. Customers should not be able to see another customer's personal information after logging in with their own phone number. And to other customers: please check your rewards account carefully. If you see information that doesn't belong to you, take screenshots and report it. This is not something that should be happening.

It was super satisfying and fairly spicy, something most poké spots don't ever get to. I normally don't get mayo in my bowls, but this wasn't too bad and had a nice kick to it. The service was okay. The server behind the counter was very helpful and generous with the portions. He also stepped through every option, giving useful suggestions as to what to add next. He was also very adept at making small talk that sounded like he was interested. The only caveat was he disappeared after taking and making my order. This was possibly due to being the only worker in the shop. But it was also very jarring to have not a single soul looking after the dining room or front counter. This was even more noticeable because the spot was barren as far as customers go. There were no pick-up or take-out orders ready to go. There were no dine-in customers other than me. It was super eerie, like I was eating in a ghost town or waking up in the Walking Dead world. It did allow me enough quiet to read my book after, which was nice. But it's very unsettling to be eating alone alone for 75% of the meal without even employees in eyesight. All in all, the food was good but I wish it was a bit more popular so I don't feel like the first guest to a party the whole time.

It is currently 105 degrees out and the AC is blasting nice and cool inside. I order the poke bowl and usually get salmon so can't comment on how the burritos are. The spot is clean and parking is good in a small stripmall. A few tables for dine-in and there's a soda fountain as well as bottled drinks in a fridge. They have some stuff not all the usual poke spots have like tamago as a protein or sliced jalapeno and pickled onions. Decent sauce selection too, leaning more on the sweet side. They are also the only spot I've seen with red hot cheetoes, which is one of my favorite poke bowl toppings. I like their salmon and veg and haven't had any weird off tasting bites of food in the times I've been here. Pretty consistent. I like that the servers tend to be pretty consistent with the amount of fish in a scoop - that tends to be an issue at most poke places I've been to but here it's pretty constant / reliable. My large (5 scoop) order comes out to about $22 with tax. I think that's about average these days for a large poke bowl and it's always a sizeable lunch for me. I've always had good experiences with the staff and had some nice chats with the owner, no negative service experiences (I see some other people have had less positive interactions in reviews and it's definitely possible). This spot got my friend group's approval and I think it's gonna be the go-to for poke for a while!

Wanted a burrito but worker said it they were out of seaweed. Which is fine I got a bowl instead. The worker was extremely rude to me, I felt like he was sexist because he didn't show that energy to my boyfriend or the two big men that came in afterwards. Even my boyfriend agreed that he was mean to me. Whole time I was telling him my ingredients politely, he was almost scolding me asking me what I wanted. He was a young guy with floppy hair. Wish I asked him what his problem was. Fish was good but they also didn't have any eel sauce either. Portions were extremely small and not worth the price. I got cucumber and only received 4 slices. I won't be back due to the service and portion size. Do better.

I really like this method because I can take my time deciding what I want to get without feeling the pressure of somebody behind me in line. It is also very clear of what is an extra cost and what is included so there are no surprises. Once you fill your sheet, you handed to the worker and they start preparing it. They typically give generous portions which I cannot finish. I usually get a three scoop one and it lasts me two meals. They have a refrigerator right after the register with multiple drinks their Italian sodas are really good. Overall, this is a small spot in the strip mould that is definitely worth it. A single bowl came out to almost $30, which is very steep for poke. You fill out your order on paper and they prepare it in the back, but the portions felt pretty small for what you're paying, especially on the proteins and toppings. Flavor was fine, but nothing standout enough to justify the cost. Ambiance is simple and tidy, good for a quick stop, but at this price point I expect either bigger portions or something more memorable. Wanting to spend some time catching up with a friend after work, we decided to give Seasurf a try. After getting great feedback from some of my Yelp friends, many said that the Happy Hour offerings were amazing. The restaurant has a very open concept with half of it being "inside" but still very open to the outside patio area. This set up was great on the (very) warm summer evening we were there, but I wonder how it plays out during inclement weather? Anyway, orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table as they're ready. The gal working the register was friendly and patient about answering questions. The guys delivering the food and collecting finished plates were all also friendly and engaging. This be our first Happy Hour visit, I thought that because of the reduced prices that the portions would be smaller. Um, I was wrong! Thus, we had way more food than we could finish and ended up taking home a whole order of king taco asada nachos. We did polish off 2 orders of poke nachos, a classic fried fish taco, and a bowl of Hawaiian island poke. All of the nachos had a good ratio of protein to chips and all the "toppings" were super fresh and also balanced to the overall dish. The Hawaiian island poke bowl was delish!! The tuna was marinated in the traditional Hawaiian style and was super flavorful. The overall vibe was casual and laidback. I can see why it's a popular destination for Happy Hour!
