I like Poki Bowl! It's nice to be able to customize your bowl exactly how you like it. I always get half greens and half rice. I prefer the tuna over the other protein choices. Sometimes the portion sizes vary depending on who's working, but overall it's still a good value. There are lots of toppings to choose from, and the service is usually nice and quick. Honestly, this place really put a big smile on my face! I came yesterday after a long day at work and it really was the highlight of my day haha. I've been to other Poki Bowl locations before and safe to say... they don't even compare to this new Gilroy location! The prices are a bit high (but what ISN'T nowadays, especially in the Bay Area). Nonetheless, I feel like it was worth it! - Good quality food! The fish was fresh and they had a variety of ingredients. - You DON'T have to pay extra for avocado. Need I say more?? - Nice and clean atmosphere - Amazing service from start to finish. I was greeted with a friendly face right when I opened the door and overall just had a great time here. Poke is on my list of top 5 favorite foods and this place felt a little short. Don't get me wrong the place was clean, had excellent service and the food was fine but it just lacked a bit of flavor. The fish tasted fresh enough but could have been a little fresher. The toppings were fine but a staple of a Poke place for me is that in needs to have masago and eel sauce and it lacked both of those. This Poki Bowl is in a nice location with plenty of parking. Upon walking in , I noticed the high ceilings and how clean the inside. I was also greeted right away and the temperature inside was cool. There are plenty of tables with lots of eating space and the max amount of people permitted is 46. What did I pick ? I got a large bowl consisting of brown rice, salmon, shrimp, ahi tuna, yellow tail, cucumbers, onions, mild sauce, avocado, seaweed, ginger, seaweed mix, and topped off with miso sauce. The portion sizes were perfect And evenly balanced. Every bite was satisfying and tasty and I could not put down the fork. The food was fresh, the ginger was so flavorful, and I kept thinking "Wow, I've never had a bowl this delicious as this one" I devoured the entire bowl, not a spec of food remaining. The ingredients are usually not fresh including the fish itself. And I swear every employee I have ever come across here seems so unhappy with their job here and it translates to how they treat their customers. The customer service never disappoints and they're generous with the amount of toppings they put in so it makes the price worth it. I order a regular size bowl w/ sushi rice, mild spice, tofu, cucumber, edamame, green onions, masago, avocado, imitation crab, furakake, sesame seeds, crunchy onions and spicy mayo. Quick friendly staff and plenty of seating indoor. I ordered my bowl with sushi rice, spicy tuna, ahi tuna and shrimp with a medium sauce and avocado and a bunch of other things. So delicious! The parking lot at this location is the worst.....not sure what the city was thinking when they built two drive thrus in a tiny parking lot. Reasonable priced (good value) and a nice variety of ingredients but limited on sauces. Super nice surprise that they don't charge extra for avocado. We usually get the salad and sushi rice combo. Salmon is our favorite protein; would pass on the octopus. Recommend going there and ordering instead of ordering online. 2 of our party of 4 discovered they were missing items in their bowl when we got home; even though the print out listed all the items correctly. Just got a bowl with two scoops of crab, the crab had gone bad. Super disgusting almost rancid. I called and the guy who answers the phone just said okay when I told him, I suggested he through out the crab and he said we already changed it out. Pause. Solid poke place! Wouldn't be out of place in a larger/more metropolitan location even, so especially for Gilroy this exceeded our expectations. Good portions and fish was fresh. Only criticism is the sauce - I picked mild and it really didn't taste like anything besides sesame oil. Luckily I added the miso dressing on top which helped with the flavor. Hubby got the spicy sauce and said it wasn't really spicy, kind of looked like sriracha. All the workers were super nice and helpful. Overall 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5. read more
