A friend and I were shopping so stopped in since they are conveniently located by the outlet stores and have a "fun" decor style. There's a sign that says "Wait to be seated", but no one came out to seat us and a group of people walked past us to go inside, were sat right away. A girl who sat us ended up being our server but took a very long time for her to come back out to even take our drink orders. I had to ask the guy bringing water and tortilla chips who our server was. Once our server arrived she was very nice and answered our menu questions. I ordered the the spicy Mamacita and my friend ordered the pina colada. Both drinks looked cool but mine was very sweet, not really spicy at all and was tiny for $15. I think I mostly paid for the presentation part...flower, popsicle, etc. We both ordered the 3 taco trio and the food came out before long. I had a mahi mahi, carne asada and a taco macho. Again, the food wasn't that great: rice and beans had an off flavor, octopus was chewy in the taco macho, and the mahi was a bit fishy. We took half our food to go and checked out. All in all I would not come back unless it was out of convenience due to the location. The food and drinks have a nice presentation, but the taste of everything wasn't there for me. If you're already shopping at the outlets, this is one of the better spots to stop for a quick bite--just don't expect it to be worth going out of your way for. It's a shame the place isn't nearly as good as it was when it first opened. The food always looks great, but the flavors are average, and the cooks can be inconsistent. You might get a great meal one day and a very "mid" one the next. If you want an aguachile that's not too spicy, the aguachile de tamarindo is a solid choice, while the mango habanero has a nice kick. The tacos are consistently good. We were seated immediately, they brought out our water and took our drink order. It's an interesting decor, made me feel like I was back in the 60's. The music is loud but it goes with the ambience. It's Mexican food and sushi? Interesting right! I had shrimp tacos rice and beans, it was delicious! My husband had calamari and an asada taco. He enjoyed the asada taco, but the calamari was very small and chewy and tough. We both had Horchata, which was delicious. However I was watching the mixologist make drinks, he was making the best looking drinks. I asked if I could take pictures and they graciously said yes. Ran is for some take out. The Baja fish tacos are awesome. The beer batter is crispy and the fish not overcooked. Served in a soft corn tortilla with cabbage, tomato's, pico and green sauce on the side. Super yummy. The salmon/lemon roll was excellent. No skimping on the fish. Rolled well. Came with a roasted pepper which was an excellent touch. Sides of chipotle, and soy sauce. Super yummy lunch. The service was quick. My order was ready when I arrived and the person who greeted me had a huge smile. Honestly, we do not know of too many "good" places to eat here. Not even with the help of Yelp, LOL. Quality/Quantity - This is probably more of a drinking establishment rather than food. Check out the pictures. Two Asada Taco - Very "fatty" pieces of meat, almost not edible. The flavors were good, but the texture and quality of the meat ruined this entree. Tropical Mango Roll - Pretty creative and good. Decent normal portion. I also like the fact they give both soy sauce and the mayo sriracha sauce. Novo Roll - Interesting, but not my taste. Although I like both mozzarella cheese and bacon, I just don't prefer it on top of my sushi. Interesting selection of hot sauces, condiments on each table; see picture. Really bad service. We arrived at 7:45 PM and waited more than 15 minutes without anyone asking for our order. We ordered rice for our kids, but when it arrived, it was cold. After us, other customers came in and were served food before us. After waiting 20 minutes, my wife went to the counter and spoke to the waiter. They gave her rice, but never brought it to our table. After another 15 minutes, my wife went back again to ask where our rice was. The staff just ignored us and didn't even offer water. In the end, they told us they don't have rice. We came here before and had a good experience because another lady was very nice, but this time the service was terrible. Very disappointing. read more

Decided to pop in for lunch on a weekday as we were making our way home from Pismo. The location is smack dab in the outlets, the side where Nike is. On the weekdays, the outlets are dead af so parking was a breeze. There was only one other table dining when we arrived. Our waitress was very nice, but she did inform us she doesn't speak English well. We didn't really have any issues communicating with her what we wanted to order, or anything else we needed. We decided to come here because their imperial oysters looked amazing. Freshly shucked oysters topped with ceviche? Count us in! However, they were out of oysters so that was a major bummer :( We opted for the ceviche mitotero, which has shrimp, octopus, scallops, and little chunks of raw tuna along with the normal cucumber, tomato, onions. It also has diced mango for that sweet tropical edge. I was a major fan of this but if you don't typically like mango salsa, this might not be for you. They serve this with a lime on the side but the ceviche was sour enough as it is. The tajin around the rim of the plate was a nice finishing touch too. I am not an octopus fan, but it wasn't bad in the ceviche as all the seafood was nice and tender. For $22, this was a huge serving, however they only give you two tostadas and two packs of saltines. We still had the basket of chips from the table, so we just ended up eating the ceviche along with this. We also ordered the taco trio. You get to mix and match 3 tacos of your choice, and it comes with a side of rice and beans too! The rice is on the stickier side, rather than loose, and the beans they covered with cotjia cheese which I felt was unnecessary but for $21 this is a pretty good deal. The tacos are bigger than street taco size, and your options range from octopus, shrimp, fish or carne asada. They do not have any other meat options on the menu. The baja shrimp taco was my fav, with huge crispy shrimps, and a delicious crema and slaw. My second fav was the tacos governador. Typically this is served with cheese but this one tasted like a shrimp fajita. Taste wise super delicious, but needed some extra texture. The carne asada tacos looked SO good and we really thought this would be our fav but it ended up being so mid. The steak was tender at least, and had a nice smokiness but it was bland, and needed more salt/flavor. We got the chicken tenders meal for my toddler and we can confirm the fries are from frozen, and the tenders are not white meat. She ate it though, so it is what it is lol FYI the salsas the tacos come with, as well as the one served with the basket of chips is pretty spicy. The server was either exhausted or having an off day. 2 stars for the service. The food was good, that's it, just good. The taco governador was alright. The sauce it came with was spicy. The sushi roll we ordered was actually better than good. The burger tasted like they poured an entire bottle of salt on it. I have been here a couples times and am glad that I gave them a second chance. The first time I went I got the salmon lemon roll which wasn't very flavorful and the Blue Caracao drink because on here it looked good. But when I got it, it wasn't the same. I asked for sugar, it was extremely bitter, not sweet at all, the sugar didn't help, so that was a waste. I wouldn't recommend Sushi just go to Ninja Sushi. We shared the octopus. It was super spicy but it had a really good flavor to it. Pulpitaco was very very chewy so make sure you chewy very good so you don't choke. It tasted better with lime juice on it. The Tacomacho by far of they best item that I tried, it was so flavorful and now I want to go back an get more of those. I recommend asking for the sauce that they give you for sushi, it's good for dipping all of the foods (it's not soy sauce) and also the roasted wax peppers they give you with the sushi. I also bought some of the roasted wax peppers to go and I mix 3 scrambled egg and chop up one of the wax peppers in it with some salt and pepper... best eggs ever! We had a fantastic experience at Culichi's! They're tucked away in the Gilroy Outlets between the shops and came as a referral from a friend. The service here was the best we've had at a restaurant in a long time! We were immediately greeted by the hostess, seated, provided menus, provided waters and chips/salsa, and greeted by our server, all within 5 minutes. Our drink and food orders were taken very timely and they came out from the kitchen quickly, we didn't have to wait long at all. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, continuously checking up on us, she was awesome! There were a variety of drink options, highly recommend the margaritas. The music in the restaurant fit the vibe very well, we enjoyed the playlist. Food options here were unique, Mexican and sushi. When I can get tacos and sushi at the same place, that's a win! After we got food was when the attentiveness decreased a bit. Now the food. They provide chips and salsa. Chips are colorful and good but the salsa didn't taste freshly made, had a thick tomato sauce consistency so seemed store bought. I got the fancier roll which at first the crispy outside threw me off as I expected a different breading but this roll was surprisingly good. Like, it didn't just look pretty, it legit had depth and flavor. It had a great spicy sauce, spiraled veggies on top and flavorful ingredients (shrimp and avocado) . Very filling. We got a rice and beans for baby - very good. Also, my daughter got the bacon wrapped shrimp - mmm. The michelada drink was good but I wondered why the other tables had it with an extra beer and I didn't. The pineapple drink my daughter enjoyed but there were no refills. After a long day of shopping my family and I were starving!! We passed by Culichi's and was intrigued by people drinking micheladas in the front of the restaurant. We were offered complimentary chips and salsa and I had to say it was pretty good. As expected, the micheladas were to die for. I recommend the mango michie over the regular one. I killed my drink in less than 5 minutes because it was sooo good. Besides that, we ordered fish and carne asada tacos. The fish was okay but the carne asada I would rate them 5/5. The carne asada tacos had good seasoning and the portion was enough to share with everyone. As for the aguachiles, they had different sauces but we stuck with the verde sauce. I would definitely also recommend getting this. My spice tolerance isn't too high so I thought they had a kick. But my sister (who can handle spice) said she didn't taste any. You be the judge if you decide to order this! Was it worth the price? Ehhh...probably not. But the convenience made up for the pricing, given the restaurant location was in a strip mall, the price was expected be on the higher end for authentic Mexican food. We ordered through the Yelp app on 2/18/21 which was convenient. We noticed there was a lot fewer items to choose from on the Yelp app when compared to their website. A lot of food sounded good and we ordered the California Burrito, Surf and Turf Quesadilla, Surf and Turf Burger, and the Tuna roll. It was a lot for us but we were able to try a lot of the food items. The California Burrito was delicious, the Surf and Turf Quesadilla was tasty, the Surf and Turf Burger was not bad, and the Tuna roll was just okay at best. I've seen Culichi's a few times when shopping at the outlets and to be honest, it never looked inviting to me. Maybe because it's the first restaurant to be tucked between clothing shops in the actual shopping center. Idk. I've also seen their ad all over social media during the pandemic and it didn't entice me either . However, I finally decided to give them a try via Uber Eats and boy, my instincts were correct- this place is not good! I get they are trying to mesh Japanese + Mexican cuisine, but I think they should just focus on the Mexican aspect. The sushi had absolutely no flavor. I ordered a rainbow roll to be basic and safe and the only "fresh fish" on there was salmon, which was absolutely thin and tasteless. The rest of the toppings on the roll was avocado and shrimp. Oddly, the two sushi pieces with the shrimp toppings had cream cheese underneath, which is so unexpected and random.... why would only two pieces have cream cheese, but more so, why even include it in a rainbow roll ?!? Additionally, the sushi doesn't come with any soy sauce, ginger, or wasabi. Instead, it comes with a side of spicy Mayo and ponzu sauce. Also randomly, chopped green onions and some shredded carrots on the side. I thought this was just for take out orders, but I'm seeing the same arrangement in every sushi picture for dine in. Very strange... lol I also ordered a carne taco and that was actually good and filling. They loaded the taco with carne and the pepper on the side was a nice touch.
