Enchiladas Michoacanas y carne asada platter
    Paolo B.

An amazing addition to Tres Pinos beyond bar food or a gourmet steakhouse. About 12 tables are situated inside this quaint restaurant. Part of a larger chain, this place is smaller and more intimate. The chips are an assortment of different types of corn. All fresh and warm. The salsa was tasty. The carne asada platter was excellent. Rice and beans were a little different than your normal Mexican restaurant. Beans not all blended & mashed up. The rice had some corn & peas mixed in - nice touch & texture. The enchiladas Michoacanas were 3 small chicken & cheese enchiladas and a side of super tender carne asada. No wasted rice and beans on this combo plate. Huge assortment of Mexican beers, sodas & juices. Margaritas are generous and delicious. Best Mexican restaurant in San Benito County - soon to be a line out the door every night! Open daily until 10 pm. Take out available.

Complimentary chips & really killer salsa. Will order salsa for take out next time.

Those were the worst fish tacos I've ever had, and ridiculously overpriced. Won't stop there again for food, that's for sure!

Husband ordered the Oak firewood roasted pork chop special and I ordered the lamb chop lollipop appetizer for my dinner with a Tres Pino house salad. (See pics. Didn't take salad pic sorry. ) Everything was dee-lish!!! We will be back with the kids. The ambiance was nice, lighting was intimate and cozy. The bar looked very crafty and seemed to have every ingredient to appease your cocktail desires. Can't wait to come back!

The decor is nice with white cloth tablecloths. The menu has a lot of different choices. My wife ordered the fish special. A sole in a white wine and cream sauce with capers. I ordered veal saltimbocca ( veal with prosciutto with a white wine and caper brown sauce. My wife lived her dish. She said the fish was quite nice and the risotto was flavorful. My saltmbocca was delicious but a bit over cooked. My side were good but nothing. Special. The dessert menu had several options. My wife choose the crème burle and I a berry cup with grand manure. Both were tasty and the crème burle had a crunchy top and creamy custard. Note they have an extensive wine list including some iconic wines. Service was good the wait staff was very professional and friendly. I would say that service was a little slow but not too bad. We will be back for sure.

White tablecloths, cozy booths, elegant decor, smooth music floating in the background... the whole place has classic old-school steakhouse energy in the best possible way. The bar area was already lively when we arrived around 4:50 p.m., and little by little the dining room filled up too. For a small town, this place was humming. Always a reassuring sign when hungry hikers are making important dinner decisions. Carmen, our server, was absolutely superb. Warm, professional, genuinely friendly, and her recommendations were spot on. The kind of service that quietly elevates the whole evening without making a performance out of it. We shared a ribeye with peppercorn sauce, a pear and prosciutto salad, and a deeply decadent chocolate dessert because apparently our bodies decided we had "earned it" after the trails. Honestly? Fair. The steak was beautifully prepared, flavorful and satisfying. The salad balanced everything nicely, and dessert fully committed to richness without apology. The only small miss for me was the mashed potatoes, which could have used a touch more creaminess. They seemed emotionally reserved. I also had a Manhattan that was expertly crafted, smooth, balanced, and exactly the kind of cocktail you want while sinking into a booth after miles of hiking. We genuinely enjoyed ourselves here. It felt less like dinner and more like a reward ceremony for surviving the trails, the sun, and our knees negotiating every downhill section.

So a few months before the wedding, we decided to go and try them for dinner. Everything was really good and the service was really nice. We inquired about their catering and they gave us a pamphlet that showed different packages and catering prices. It took a little bit to get in contact with them but when I finally managed to get somebody, it went smooth. From there they gave us a more accurate quote breakdown of what we wanted. We picked the Tri-tip and Chicken option. It came with pasta, salad, garlic mashed potatoes, dinner rolls and butter. We also chose 2 appetizers for the cocktail hour. They were the meatballs and crackers with assorted cheese. We also chose 2 servers to help with the buffet and bussing tables.. The day came and they got there on time. They laid out everything nicely in the chafing pans. The servers were very attentive. They served, cleared plates, threw everything away. The food was delicious! All our guests were raving about it for days to come. Especially the pasta. We had a lot of leftovers so we ate wedding food for like 2-3 days. I highly recommend Paines for your catering needs. They did an amazing job, the food was so good and their customer service was great. We will definitely be back for date night. Thank you Paines!

While the food looked amazing to eat I was abruptly interrupted by an unwanted guest (a hair) found at the top of my plate I can't imagine the food safety is managed here if this is something that can occur on a weeknight. Be wary of your food before eating. Training in hospitality and food safety would go a long way at this establishment.
