    Beauty and the Beast

Had dinner with my family at Hanami Sushi on a Wednesday evening. We had a reservation at 5pm for five people and were seated immediately. The restaurant was pretty empty except for a large group when we arrived, but it was hopping by the time we left. The large group was really loud. I wish we had been seated away from them. I ordered the combination dinner with beef teriyaki and mixed tempura. It was SO good. The shrimp were large and weren't over breaded. The teriyaki beef had such a nice a flavor. I liked the miso soup and salad, too. Others in my family ordered teriyaki salmon, rainbow rolls, and chicken udon along with a side of edamame. We all agreed the food was excellent. The service was good, except at the end when the restaurant got busy. It took a while to get our check and for the waitress to pick up payment, but that's okay. Gave us more time to visit. Apparently the restaurant has a Beauty and the Beast theme.

Best sushi spot in Morgan hill. Only way to cheers is a shot of hot sake, a shot of nigori, and a glass of beer. Triple fisting ftw. The sweetest Asian lady in front will seat you then take your order. She constantly checked on us and ensure our waters are refilled. Lots of seating and lots of parking Everything off the menu is delish and support local business

Everything was delicious, 1st time here & would definitely be back. Service was quick and our waiter was very kind. Also, super clean and overall great experience.

Run the other way. Garlic Edamame- no garlic. Chili oil. Old. Two spicy and I couldn't eat it. I was still charged for the 2 beans I ate. Yellowtail Nigiri - would not stick to the rice. Rice fell into the soy sauce. Crunch Roll- just not right. Shrimp tempura on top of a roll? The sauce was too sweet and the batter too salty. No plates other than what the sushi comes on. Now the food was bad, but the servers are worse. When the kitchen is on the other side of a CURTAIN, we can hear you. Yes, I heard you. Then a little girl just standing around in the middle of the restaurant. Very warm room.

My usuals are Spicy Josh roll and caterpillar roll. The owner retired and, as long time customers, it's sad and weird not to see her talking & serving us. The food still tastes good and the ambiance remains the same. Their prices are pretty average- it's not overpriced. I've personally haven't had to wait 1 hour for food or any type of service. The servers are efficient and friendly. There are new servers but that hasn't affected my wait time or the taste in food. During the pandemic, they stayed open with all of their loyal customers' help because they treat their customers like family. This restaurant is the only other place I'll go to for sushi in town.

Everytime I come it's always consistent the prices are great and the portion is good! I ordered 2 spicy salmon rolls and 2 salmon handrolls! They also have Toro (tuna belly) and also Uni (sea urchin) on the menu!

    Completely tasteless Beef Udon.

The wife wanted Japanese food for dinner on Saturday night. Sushi Confidential is good but is a tad pricey. So we decided to come here. I looked in the window and saw no one sitting anywhere in the front of the restaurant. I told her that an empty restaurant on a Saturday night isn't a good sign. But since she wanted Japanese food I decided to go in. There were indeed people in the restaurant but they were all seated in the back. Not sure why they do this since it makes the establishment look empty. Anyway I perused the menu and saw there wasn't much I was into. I asked if the chicken in their chicken Teriyaki was breast meat. Unfortunately they use thigh meat. So I decided to get the Beef Udon. When the food arrived the broth for the soup was pretty much clear and the beef appeared to have just been boiled in the broth. Everything was pretty much tasteless. I had a few bites but that was enough for me. It just wasn't worth eating. The next time the waitress came by I told her the food was no good and she asked if I would like something else. I told her, "not and she agreed to take the food off our bill. My wife enjoyed her food. She had a 2 item dinner combo, Scallops Teriyaki and Tempura.

Ordered to go at the store and waited half an hr to get my order on a Sunday. Food is good and tasty. Will come again

Fresh sushi at a reasonable price. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** We were seated quickly and the food came out pretty fast too. All the staff who helped us were friendly. **Decor & cleanliness, 3/5** Decor is very plain but everything is clean and tidy. Keep in mind staff don't all wear masks. **Price & portion, 4.5/5** The sushi rolls are a bit cheaper than what you'd find in San Jose, but the portions are also a bit smaller too. In the end it evens out -- you get what you pay for. **Presentation of the food, 5/5** Sushi will always be visually stunning! I got the rainbow roll which had different types of sashimi on top. **Taste of the food, 4/5** The sushi was good but not excellent. While the fish tasted fresh and had no fishy smell, it wasn't particularly tender or blew me away. Still a good meal for the price!

Sushi Nara is located in the nice busting Vineyard plaza off Monterey Road and Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill. Plenty of parking is accessible in the large parking lot. The sushi restaurant has simple traditional Japanese modern decor. The atmosphere is family friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of tables and booths for dine in. An appealing sushi bar is present as soon as you walk in. We ordered salmon nigiri, unagi nigiri, gyoza, tempura shrimp dinner, rock and roll sushi roll, Godzilla roll and a glass of Chardonnay. Everything was delicious and high quality. My tempura shrimp dinner included plenty of crispy tasty shrimp. The salad underwhelmed with just lettuce and too much dressing. My favorite was the Godzilla roll. Every bite was bursting with flavor. Overall we enjoyed our recent experience at Sushi Nara. The staff were nice and accommodating. Food came out quickly. My only gripe was the price point of the bento boxes and dinner specials were too high compared to other sushi restaurants. I'm glad we were able to drop in finally since we have not been here in a while.

It's all about their Chirashi Bowl and the fresh wasabi add on. It's legit my favorite menu item because they are super generous with the fish slices, variety and portions. I have tried other sushi places that have been a Morgan Hill staple as well as newer places but I keep coming back here. I've mostly done take out these days but when I do done in, the staff are attentive and polite and there's a bit of speed in their step when providing service. There's plenty of space to sit, it's not too loud when the restaurant is full either.

We started with the steamed clams in this garlic sauce, which were AMAZING. The sauce was so flavorful, and dipping the bread into it made it even better. We also ordered the beet salad, which was pretty good, along with the seafood linguini and seafood paella. The linguini was decent, but the seafood paella was definitely the star. It had a creamier, cheesier flavor compared to traditional paella, but it was so rich and satisfying. Service was great, and the atmosphere makes it a perfect place to sit down, relax, and enjoy your company. Our server was…read morekind and doing their best, but the food quality and overall experience were not good at all. We drove almost 3 hours to visit while spending the day in the area, and honestly, we would've rather grabbed fast food instead. What made it worse was that we were hoping to treat our mom to a nice meal, but all of us ended up disliking the food. The appetizer plates we were first given were visibly dirty, so we had to ask for clean replacements right away. A few people in our group ordered the loaded clam chowder since we'd seen so many positive reviews online, but it was extremely underwhelming. The seafood tasted undercooked and the soup itself had barely any flavor. The wait time was also frustrating. We received appetizers fairly quickly, but waited almost an hour and a half for our entrees. During that time, staff kept coming by offering extra bread and refills we didn't ask for, which honestly felt more like an attempt to make up for the long delay. Meanwhile, several larger parties that arrived after us were served their meals before we were, even though our group was only 5 people. What also made the experience uncomfortable was that once our food finally arrived, we felt rushed to leave. After waiting, staff were already trying to clear plates while some of us were still eating, which felt unfair considering the delay was completely out of our control. By the time the food finally arrived, the quality just did not justify the wait. Overall, it was a very disappointing Mother's Day experience, especially after driving so far. Sadly, we won't be returning.

The only thing he liked was the sweet and sour chicken. Everything else was bland, no flavor or seasoning. I ordered their Chicken Sizzling Rice Soup. It took them a minute to prep that one, but no problem, I understood. When I got it, it looked more like a mushroom soup than anything else. The broth was flavorful enough, but I had to take out 75% of the mushrooms. It comes with chicken, zucchini, and mushrooms, with the rice on the side.
