You start from choosing your rice/salad. I usually get brown rice/mixed greens, but I've gotten the multigrain rice, which is good as well. Then you choose your protein! So many choices, but you really can't go wrong with any of them (I've been loving getting the tuna (chunks) and salmon). Next is the sauce. I've tried the Spicy Korean and Dynamite, which were bomb. I've been meaning to try this place out from when i saw it on an ad. So finally took my client visiting from california and he thoroughly enjoyed! What we both thought was really great was that everything was made fresh right in front. All the ingredients looked amazing and there were so many choices. Medium works for me and you get two size scoops of fish. And following the pattern Large will get you how many scopes? Anyone, anyone. Go ahead and cheat it's in the pics. Pick your starch. Rice (white, brown, multigrain) salad (spinach aka Popeyes favorite, spring, or Romain). Can decide like me mix it. Pick your protein. The time I went, they had 4 different kinds of fish, tako, and tofu. How is tofu a protein? Anyway. Pick three sides. Look at pictures I'm not listing them all. Lastly pick you toppings. I got furukake but there is also fried onions, sesame seeds, fried corn, and two other ones. My bad no photographic memory for this guy but he has photos. And for the fish they add the sauce when ordered. The standard sauces you get anywhere. Mixing the sauce when ordered, lets the fish hold its texture. Of course you can get it on the side. Which I did since I was heading back to work. Plenty of seating even for large groups. Parking: are you kidding me? It's downtown. There are parking garages for about $5 for every half hour. TIP: buy something at Walmart and you can use their parking garage for up to two hours free with validation. $10 minimum but you need stuff anyway. Lastly go here this food rocks. And if this place closes hopefully it so the can get a better location and not because of lack of publicity. I was a regular at the Don Quijote location and was extremely disappointed when it closed. Now I get happy whenever I get to go downtown because I can come here for my happiest lunch. I feel this place has the best bang for the buck among the poke places in town with the widest variety of choices to make a good, balanced meal. I'm sorry they don't have the tako anymore but the seasoned calamari with mixed, pickled vegetables is tasty and the squid is tender. I've been here twice now, and I'm thankful Pokeway is here. The smallest size is still a decent portion. The spicy ahi is great, and I recommend getting it with their Dynamite sauce. Pokeway offers tons of options, whether it be your protein, sauce, vegetables, and toppings. Despite the fact that downtown has many options for poke bowls, this is the only place you can get poke, your way. I like how they have different options for fish, sauces, salad/rice, and toppings. I still haven't quite figured out my favorite fish/sauce combination. It's even better that they offer you more sauces to go for your salad and fish. I have also been to the Pokebox at Ala Moana but it is definitely more delicious here and the people are more friendly. Also, the toppings are more generous than the Ala Moana competitor. I do think the prices are a little steep considering that I can get a full set of fish, rice/salad, and miso soup at ahi lovers for $10 whereas I'm not getting as much here for the 2 fish option.
