Solid Poke joint close to the Spectrum. This place is ideal for your lunch time poke fix if you're on the go. I came here with 2 coworkers to grab Poke and was surprised to see this place tucked away in a business complex. Service was super fast and efficient. I got a regular size with spring mix, tuna and salmon. They have a good amount of toppings, and don't seem to have many extra charges associated with things. Only downside is, they don't have a warehouse of sauces or tons of eating space for large groups. It feels a bit cramped in there. In terms of fish quality, everything felt super fresh and tasty. The size of the bowl was pretty decent too. I would return here if I needed a poke fix again. read more

Our company has been ordering lunch for the office every day.. sad to say that the Pokenoya experience as a whole has been sub par. It's not 100% off..The poke itself is excellent.. it's the portion of that fish you're paying big bucks for that doesn't make it to your desk when you order through a delivery service like grub hub.. that has led me to this review. I'm a big tuna head- AKA i love fish. AKA I know how much fish I SHOULD BE for as much I'm paying for it. Pokenoya has been shorting me on my 4 (fish tuna) bowls pretty consistently, while ordering online. It's really unfortunate that you can't expect the same amount of fish that you'd get from this location in-person, that you would when ordering online. I would expect a business to try and protect itself from a situation like this by actually providing MORE than u pay for.. but it's happened over 5 times now that the raw fish within my bowls has been significantly less than one would expect. Bummed. Mentioned it to their team before.. but this is consistently a let down. read more

Ok I had commented on another poke spot I had found thinking it was such a great poke spot but I found this poke spot. I'm a poke type of person but when I say this is the best poke, the BEST!! Then they have some orange drink that I don't quite remember the name but it was so refreshing and delicious! read more

Hidden gem! This will be my go to poke place in the future. Because this place is very popular, I would recommend getting there early to make sure you get the fish, sides, and condiments you want. Why does Pokenoya stand out? - Friendly staff - Warm rice - House made sauces, sides, garnishes - Seared albacore!!! This is like steak, fish form, to me - Higher quality of fish (you can get your sauce(s) on the side and taste the fish yourself :]) - Local mom and pop place that does it right and serves local corporate jobs and people like me in the neighborhood For people that are concerned about cost, it's very reasonable and competitive for the quality of fish and overall product. When you compare this place to a poke chain or a place that drenches their fish in sauce to hide the quality, that isn't a fair comparison. I have no pictures because my wife and I ate it all before I even thought about taking them. Next time! read more

Really like this place. Fish has always been fresh and decent options for toppings and sauces. Portions pretty good. I wish they were open on weekends. One gripe though is the sushi rice seems to regularly be mushy and clumpy. Probably should work on making better sushi rice. Other than that, love this place. read more

This was my first time here. I didnt enjoy it and wouldn't recommend it. 1. Service: as the guy helping me was about to ring me up I saw the sign "mix upon request" so I asked him oh I'm so sorry could you mix it for me and he did it but under his breath said "a word of warning for next time" I found this very rude as there was no one else behind me anyway! Needless to say I regret tipping him -_- also he was not guiding me through the choices or explaining my options 2. Food: I've had poke before and it overall just didn't taste as fresh. My stomach started hurting few minutes after eating it and I only ordered cooked meats too. Not going here again read more

Right down the street from my work place so decided to give it a try. It's in a small business area so it could be a little hard to find. It's like the other poke places where you build your own rice bowl or salad. They also have signature bowls that you could choose if you don't know what you want. What I got: Regular Salad w/ Salmon & Tuna w/ Spicy Mayo Sauce and Everything ($8.50): 3 choices of fish, but I just stick with salmon and tuna. Couldn't really taste the spicy mayo sauce so I wish they had put more into my bowl. Got it with crab meat, avocado, cucumber, white onion, seaweed salad, masago, crunchy onions, and nori strips. Love all the toppings that they offer, but the sauce lacked flavor and made my salad pretty flavorless...I just love everything really sauced! Service: Small little place with a few tables inside and outside. Workers just make your food and you're on your way! They have boba drinks too though! But didn't get a chance to try it...will I be back? Probably not... read more

I've been buying the custom poke bowl for a year now at lunch times, usually 2-3 times a week. Always fresh and tasty cuts of fish, lots of customization and extras options and fairly priced. Has saved me from the junk food default that is so easy to get into the habit of! This is healthy, nutritious and (for me) within walking distance for pick up, though I also do delivery when I'm work-pressed. Prep time is usually 30 minutes or less. The menu is also much broader than poke if you like other Asian fusion styles. A small and trustworthy local business and I'm happy to give an A-rating! read more

I ordered through postmates and chose the three protein bowl and chose double salmon plus spicy tuna. What I received was 4 cubes of salmon, a small scoop of spicy tuna and small amount of toppings but tons of rice. Very disappointed for a $20 bowl. Won't be back. read more

Really good, fresh poke in a hole-in-the wall spot. Absolutely worth visiting if you're in the area or work close by. Extremely limited seating. Parking isn't too bad. I recommend planning on getting it to go. Business is very small. The smell inside can sometimes be awful (fishy) but it's worth it for the good food! read more

I love this Poke place. It's one of my top 2 in South Orange County. They give plenty for their regular size and the pricing is reasonable! I normally get half sushi rice and half spring mix with Salmon. I don't handle spice well so I opt for no spice! It has plenty of flavor and you can always ask for a bit more sauce if you like your bowls super saucy. I would definitely give this place a try! I didn't even wait to finish my poke bowl to write this review because that's how good it was. 5 scoops of protein for a little over $13 is the best price in OC and best of all they offer scallops as a protein and nobody else does. Large portion, very fresh tuna, plenty of mix ins so let's just say I found my new go-to poke spot. Excellent job guys read more

Although not as great as my favorite joint somewhere else down further south, it is great for the location and the quality they give here. Although seating is a bit hard, I rather enjoy my quick poke fix and would come here again for their quality ingredients. It may not seem like a lot for the quantity but it for sure fills u up in the end. Very nice. read more

Good service. Fresh tasting fish. Simple menu with simple sauce. Nothing fancy and complex compare with other Poke places. Fish - Tuna - Spicy Tuna - Salmon - Spicy Salmon - Albacore Base - Rice - Brown Rice - Chips - Spring Mix Sauce - Mild - Spicy Drizzle Sauce - Spicy Mayo - Wasabi Mayo - Jack on Fire (essentially water down chinese rooster chili sauce) - Jane on Fire It would be great if they could offer cucumber as a base. Some other Poke places have done that. read more

Yummm. I'm new to the Irvine weekday lunch scene and this was an amazing find. Tucked away in a little business center this place does not disappoint. regular (3proteins) and large (5 proteins) size poke bowls. Tons of options for proteins, sauces and add ins. Best part was that it was all included at 1 price. None of this $1.50 extra for avocado or $1 extra for this and that. I deducted a star for lack of seating as there is space for more outdoor seating but they haven't seemed to utilize it. Overall I will definitely be back. read more

Work nearby so very convinient. Not bad for a poke place and will do in a pinch. About $9 for 2 scoops of protein. 1 scoop shy of most places for a small. if you want 4 scoops, it'll set you back about $12. Decent variety of proteins, add ons, and sauces. I think this place is decent enuf but I would kick their flavor a notch if I wanna enjoy it next time. I need to find the right sauce combo. Also feel that the fish could be fresher but not bad tho. overall, decent. And they sell breakfast and boba too! read more

Best, friendliest service I've experienced at a poke place. So nice! 5 stars for service, 4 for fish and nice variety of selections and 4 for pricing Spicy K sauce is a must try (Get the Korean sauce on the side!) Large plate is 11.95 and wasnt that large... Half brown rice and half spring mix was a good option.. they give a lot of rice! The mix was slightly bitter... the brown rice is better than any other poke place I've been to (including Wow Bento) Spicy salmon was my favorite; I also enjoyed the tuna, albacore and regular salmon. You can sample before you get it :) I didn't venture in to octopus or scallops but if that's your thing they have it and my friend enjoyed it. Unlimited ginger is a plus :-D I also enjoyed the crunchy onion and garlic topping amongst basic toppings. They are generous with their toppings (Good selection but not as many as some other places) definitely fresh though. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

Five stars for the quality of the food and the value too. I got a bowl with brown rice / spring mix, seared albacore, octopus, and spicy scallops, avocado, crab meat, onion and cucumber, seaweed salad, sesame, masago, and a dash of furikake and very light spicy sauce. Done to perfection. I met with some old coworkers that day, and we were hanging out at the tables outside for a bit longer chatting. One of the employees came out and refilled our water, which was appreciated during this heat wave. Very thoughtful and over the top service. Their water is filtered and not the tap water you get at most other places. read more

Nice place! Food was good! Ordered the large build your own poke and was pleasantly surprised to see that adding things like crab meat and avocado were included in the price of the bowl. The large order allows you to pick 5 proteins so of course I went for all fish and tako (octopus). The fish was fresh and the price was right! Was a little disappointed that there was very little seating inside and how there were no fountain drinks. The hours are geared for lunch only so plan accordingly. Would recommend this to anyone and I will be going back! read more

I was so excited to try this place because its soooooo close to my office. It looked good and the line moved at a quick pace. I ate my poke bowl. After I ate my bowl I got in the car and drove home and thats when it happened. I felt sick and so did my friend who also got a bowl. Its possibly MSG. We both felt sick and both got sick once we were at work. Both our stomachs had a lot of pressure and pain and discomfort. I called the company several times but know answer. I have gone to this place a lot recently and I love the food. The poke bowls are amazing and most of the staff cares about their service and food. However I said MOST of the staff. I called in my to-go order and the young girl on the phone had the worst customer service skills ever. Now, I am in HR and I am also the corporate recruiter for my company.. and I know and understand how stressful lunch hour is. I also understand how a customer should be treated on the phone and this girl was just awful. I called in a to-go order and had two separate orders. I told the girl my order, and she informed me. "We are all out of albacore" in which I replied oh ok.. I'll do salmon instead. The girl not only was rushing and giving me the "rolling eyes tone" when I was ordering, I asked a question about base toppings.. "what are the base toppings again? Are they popular?" In which she replied "ugh ya.. that's why they are base toppings..." total attitude problem right off the bat. At the end of the order, I asked if they could do anything to help out with the total because the reason I called in the first place was for the albacore. Again.. I got the "UGH I'll ask I guess.." response and she asked and it turned out they were not out of albacore. So I said ok.. no worries.. and repeated my order and she was again annoyed. How this girl is the "voice of the company" and face I do not see how she got the job in the first place, I would never hire someone that made my company look bad. Next, I arrive to pick up my food. I walked up and I was happy I ordered ahead of time because the line was long. I walked up and who else? The girl from the phone. "Ya it's not ready yet, 10 more minutes.. (rude voice) In which I replied.. " so what your saying is I could've easily walked in and got my food order right away?" In which she replied.. "I make the orders as they come in and you called like 5 mins ago" I bit my tongue and didn't say anything. I checked my phone and I called 12 mins ago. I stood on the back and the gentlemen who made the food was very kind and offered me a free boba while waiting. I was happy he cared enough about his business. It was a kind and respectful gesture. As I went to pay.. I was informing the other girl co-worker that they are separate orders. The gentlemen came over and asked what was going on. The girl informed him "oh I think she's upset because the wait" in which I replied.. "No no... I'm ok with the wait, trust me I get it you are busy. It's the customer service over the phone and now in person the the young girl next to you. I come here all the time and you guys are always on it! And the food is always perfect. It's just that one employee who has the negative attitude to customers. The girl heard me and said "I'm sorry I just have a lot of orders and I do them as they come on" - again in a rude tone smiling sarcastically and fake. I have worked at Starbucks for over 3 years and sometimes alone.. and not once have I ever treated a guest how she did via phone and in person. There is no excuse for that attitude. Overall the company and other employees seem to really care about their business. The gentlemen in the back is what will keep me coming back. Hopefully they can redeem themselves. Also, gloves on employees would be a huge plus. Thanks y'all! read more

I just wanted to send a quick update to warn people: If you order takeout straight from the yelp website, they have raised the price of the regular sized bowl by a couple of dollars. Make sure you order from their website pokenoya.net or just order in person so you're not paying extra. Not sure what the reason for this is. Quality of the food is still wonderful, as well as very friendly service every time I'm there. read more

It's A-OK. Super busy at lunch. I wish they had more sizes for poke bowls available. Fish seemed fresh. Really, it's nothing out of the ordinary. Glad I ordered online instead of waiting during a packed lunch crowd. I prefer Pokeworks at Culver Plaza. Different strokes for different folks I guess. read more

Stopped by here today to pick up some lunch for me and my mom. Read pretty good reviews so I was excited to try it. I brought it home and as my mom and i are eating our bowls we realize that the rice was not fully cooked. (I had white and she had brown) The food wasn't bad but because the rice was still kind of hard it kind of ruined the meal ): I would say that overall the flavor was okay but I probably will not be going back. read more

This is a super small joint in the middle of no where LOL but the food is pretty good. It's mainly for business people who have to grab a quick lunch. The fish is fresh, probably the most fresh that I have tried in Irvine so far. The toppings are pretty simple. I got the half brown rice half spring mix with all the toppings. Opened just last week. Located on a dead end street inside an office complex, hole-in-the wall. Some seating available, plenty of parking. They just opened, so they are still working out the kinks. You can choose between regular (2 scoops of fish) and large sizes (4 scoops). As a base you can have white rice, brown rice, salad, or half & half. They have the standard selection of fish items you'd find at other poke places (and egg & tofu for your vegetarian friends). You can then add avocado, cucumber, onion, and imitation crab to your base. They have a wide variety of sauces that you can mix & match. Finally, the toppings: there are so many! You can have seaweed salad, ginger, fried onions, fried garlic, dried seaweed, masago, cream cheese, the list goes on. If you don't want to build your own, you can choose from their many preset bowls. A majority of them are supposedly spicy. They also serve boba tea drinks and smoothies as well. Overall, I thought the taste was good. The fish to rice ratio was a bit uneven, but the topping selection kinda made up for it. Service was friendly, but there are still communication issues they need to smooth out, and they are not operating as efficiently yet (they did just open after all). The boba tea is excellent, doesn't taste like powdered tea. Definitely worth checking out again. read more

Recently, I was celebrating another precious birthday dinner (a little delayed by 7 days but still counts) and decided to go here, last minute. My friend and I had reservations at another restaurant across the street in the mall. But, I wanted to be a little bit more hungry, so we decided to walk around and then cross the street to find our place in Water Grill. So we crossed the bridge that connects the mall to the other side where the Water Grill lies and with the heatwave we are enduring as Californians, the walk felt like a trek through Arizona streets. I have never been to Arizona. But now I do not have to, apparently. I had called the joint before but they told me they were absolutely book for the night. I have lived long enough to know that place in a crowded restaurant is sometimes a matter of finding a crevice to call one's own. But a crevice is sometimes found only through efforts. The staff was prepared to show us options, one of two bars, and seating in other areas of ther expansive restaurant. I think there were three options and all of these were in the avaiable areas. They did not try to find me a table in their main dining rooms, which is fine. I did enter as a peasant looking for stale bread. Ronnie, my friend, did not want to sit anywhere where the heat was abundant, but luckly on our trek through the bar we found a group departing. Those seats were for us. People were barely getting up. I was almost the tazmanian devil, but contained, I did not want to lose these seats which meant for us, to another person who needed those sits. I am not sure why but I was acting like a bridemaids during a clearence sale for her best-friend's desired gown. I wonder if this happens in real life or I am imagining a scene from a movie that made women savages when it came to low priced clothes? The stools had food rests. My feet did not hang. A significant plus! The crevice had been found, and, like mice who had found their cheese, we were ready to split food and giggle like rats as we did! It was a superb meal! Like, a holiday was had in the moment. Once I found the halibut with the gnocchi my made was made up. Nothing else would due but what I had waited for and found anew. Since the LA shop did not have it, I feared that this place would not as well. We also ordered brussels. Roonie ordered their sirloin and their chimichurri. At one point, I combined the gnocchi, with the halibut, and smeared the chimi, and ate it in one mouthful and the proceeding pow was a blast from the present to the taste buds. The Delorian arrived and parked in my tongue, is what I am trying to say. Our server was Diana. And I thought that she would be more familiar with the fact that Diana was the real name of Wonder Woman. So I am making some lame dad jokes, even though I have not fathered any children, about Amazon and Thymescara. And she politely nodded but later found out that she was not connecting my jokes. But I guess dad jokes can be like that. She was also really kind of cool as a server. For instance, Ronnie wanted to enjoy mac and cheese. I ordered but then I walked and saw their beautiful ears of corn and wanted some. Ben eut we were informed that we had enough food and the corns probably would not be needed. Diana accomodated the request of swapping the mac for the corn. I wanted no chili. Then corn on the cob came with chili. She said that she had put in the order. And then a second order of corn came without chili. Ronnie, being the pure angel she is, was like Do you need the chili corn back? And I was like, now we licked it. Simply because I feel that the restaurant would be tacky to deliver a wrong side and then ask for it back. Like for the prices you all be charging, they can let us absorb the cost of their mistake. Both ears of corn were left. The real kiss on my birthday from the universe was that I was allowed to have an entire side of the gnocchi for 16 dollars. It came. Now there was enough for Ronnie to share. I will admit that before a gurantee of more gnocchi I was wondering if they could share. We also got a tri-flavored cookie with ice cream with a sea horse cookie with ice cream. It was great. Exceptional even. And the garlic on the brussels, I am glad I am not the king of the undead. So this place is a gem under the sea that I can visit from time to time. It is just not that close. But it is not the white whale, nor am I Ahab. I can go more often. And after yesterday's dinner, I do not see how I can not.

I love this place, it's the only good poke/raw fish place near this business area for the time being. I like the combination of things they give you, it just hits the spot every time. Make sure you try the spicy mayo sauce, I would recommend adding that on top and once you mix it in, it makes the bowl that much better. I've been recommending this to all my coworkers, and they all fell in love with the place. Too bad it's not open on the weekends. My go to combo of fish is spicy tuna, tuna, and albacore. For a little while, their portions were getting smaller, you could tell a few members of the crew were really trying to give as little as possible...so that got a bit annoying, but recently with a new crew and after they raised the price they seem to be better about that. Every time I've gone to Pokenoya for lunch, the food and service has always been great. The service I received today in specific has been amazing. Work has been hectic during the pandemic and today I forgot to check the times of when restaurants close. In this case, I rode the company;s electric scooter from the office to Pokenoya to get my late lunch. Little did I realize that it was already 3pm and they were closing. Regardless, they still allowed me to order my food and they informed me of their closing times for next time. Extremely good poke place! One of the best I've had! Only downfall is that they are located in the middle of a corporate complex which tends to get super busy around lunch time. It's an extremely small area with practically no seating so it's better of to go. Overall though, the food was good if you are willing to pick up orders. read more

I love Pokenoya for lunch. It's a very small location, think more take-away then eat in. They do have a few seats inside and out, but it's small. I order online in advance and my food is waiting for me when I get there. If you show up at 12:30 expect to see a line. The medium house sauce is delicious! So flavorful. read more

But I think just one or the other is a decent meal and pretty affordable honestly compared to some of the other places I have been going to. The sushi pieces were SO FAT. Sushi is supposed to be one bite. I struggled to get this all down in one bite. It was more like two bites. My new friends around me remarked more than twice about the (good) struggle I had! The poke bowl was so filling. The belly is such a good good cut. Tender and sweet. I had my reservations but lordy, I had to take the rest home and I was so full. Located inside the Mess Hall on Flight in Tustin, you would not expect anything amazing coming out of here. Their hours close at 5 pm. And they are closed on Sundays. But parking is very ample and I truly hope this booth sticks around. The owner is so friendly and accommodating.
