I recently tried the Poke Burger at Pokekai in Doral Yard and really enjoyed it. The most unique part is the deep-fried crispy rice used as the bun -- it adds a great crunch and makes the burger stand out from a regular poke bowl experience. I really enjoyed my visit at Pokekai in the Doral Yard Food Hall. I've been watching many many tiktoks raving about PokeKai and the hype is legit. With plenty of options on the menu, they are most famously known for their Poke Burgers. As you see in the photos below I ordered a Poke Burger with tuna as my protein. It was amazing! It's not even as messy as you think it would be. It's also a large portion size for around $20 so I believe it to be good value. I saw this place pop up in Instagram in a reel prior to vacation. I knew I had to go while in town, and I'm glad I did as the hype is real regarding the sushi burger! This place is located in Doral Yard. You place your order at the counter and wait for your device to buzz. Now the food... You can choose your protein for the burger; tuna, salmon or tofu. I went with tuna. The rest of the burger consisted of kani and seaweed salad, and avocado which was all packed inbetween two crispy rice "buns." The texture between the crispy rice and the sushi was great. It also came with a side of eel sauce and spicy mayo. Everything was a great marriage of flavors and kept me wanting more and more. The reason I had to take away a star was because I was charged for soda AND chips when I only ordered a soda. The plantain chips were good, but since I didn't order them it was a little upsetting to see it on the bill. Overall, this was a delicious lunch and I definitely recommend stopping in! read more

I finally got my hands on the sushi burger from Doral Yard's Pokekai and it was delicious! The "burger buns" are made from fried sushi rice rice, and layered in between was fresh tuna, crab salad, avocado, and topped with sesame seed. I thought the burger was great. The rice buns were crunchy, and added a great texture to the fillings in between. You wouldn't guess but it's a heavy filling and I felt full and satisfied afterwards. I liked it. The yard has an option and variety of different types of cuisine so you're not just limited to sushi if you don't like it. Saw them on tiktok and really wanted to try their poke burger. I ended up getting the salmon poke burger. The vibe of the place was immaculate in the food hall. Pokekai is located inside the Doral Yard. The menu is packed with some really incredible options including sushi rolls, poke bowls and some appetizers. The first time I visited, I ordered the Spicy Tuna Bowl, which was really delicious. The tuna was fresh and even with the jalapeños included wasn't as spicy as you'd expect it to be. Packed with flavor and just enough heat that you can enjoy it without reaching for your drink after every bite. The second time I visited I ordered the Brie Paradise bowl, because it sounded really interesting. Holy guacamole--this bowl blew my mind! It was soooo delicious. With the shaved coconut and chopped fried plantains, the pineapple and Brie cheese paired with shrimp tempura and krab. This is the best poke bowl I've ever had, ever. It was -chef's kiss- Both times I visited for lunch the service was quick and the staff was friendly. Ambiance of the Doral Yard is typical of a busy food hall but depending on the day/events is what determines how packed it is with people. My only complaints was that my wife and I found the "rice buns" of our poke-burgers were a little greasy, but honestly it's literally rice fried into a patty, we knew what we were getting into. I ordered delivery for their Tuna Poke Burgers and it did not disappoint! It travels surprisingly well. While it is a bit on the splurge side of my food budget, the burger is really big, and they pack in a lot of filling. I also really appreciate how the crispy rice isn't too thick so that the filling and sauces can really shine through. The ingredients were fresh and the crispy rice was fried perfectly! It can get a little messy to eat so make sure to ask for extra napkins. This spot is a little hidden in the midst of Doral Yard. But you'll find it when you head towards the patio area to check out all the food options. I'm a huge fan of poke bowls so they had me at poke! I was struggling on what to order because honestly, I really wanted the Poke Burger as someone walked by me with it and I immediately asked, "What is that???" It's like poke in between crispy rice mad love. But too much rice for me and I was trying to be somewhat healthy. Ha. I opted for the Poke Ceviche bowl. It looked tropical and clean eats. You order your food and they give you a pager and beep you when your order is complete. It didn't take long, maybe 5-10 min? My ceviche was good but somewhere in there, I could taste the oiliness of the fried plaintain chips or the macadamia nuts. I couldn't tell which. So that threw me off a bit. But overall, the fish was very fresh and I loved the texture of the pickled red onions, peppers and mango. I personally thought the option of white rice or quinoa was an odd add on. I ordered mine with quinoa because I love quinoa but honestly, I only had a few small bites and left an abundance of quinoa. This restaurant stood out during the Downtown Doral Foodie Festival!! I've had poke before while stationed in California and I can say that the poke here is so fresh and delicious that it reminds me the experiences that I had in the west coast. The poke was flavorful not ultra fish and the texture was on point with the sauces decorating the flavor as you undergo the total taste journey that was eating Pokekai's poke. The service was extremely quick and the attention to detail on the dish is best explained as a mix where art meets flavor. I really recommend this spot to any sushi or poke lover.
