My husband and I went here to celebrate a special occasion. We had a reservation and they greeted us and say us right away. They went over the food and drink menu and gave us time to think about it. We ended up ordering the chef experience with a couple of add ons, while pairing it with a bottle of Sake which was served in this interesting decanter/chiller which had us very entertained the whole time there. The chef experience comes out in different phases and each time it was served to us they were able to identified the type of fish being served. We thoroughly enjoyed what was served and we were impressed by the quality of the fish. The restaurant is not big, but it does have seating for one large group in the back. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, it isn't boring but also not overwhelming. There is plenty of free parking. Overall, we were impressed and definitely we will be coming back. read more

You have to order the GG wagyu sandwich; it was SO good, it completely exceeded my expectations. The Wagyu inside is crispy and juicy. The sauce they use gives such a special flavor. It was a party in my mouth. The strawberry sandwich is not too sweet, it's the perfect level of sweetness. The strawberries give it a nice tartness. Would definitely order it again. We liked the Osaka roll; the mango gives it a nice touch. The nigiri is good too. Nothing was fishy or chewy in a bad way. Gyoza were tasty. The curry katsu udon bowl was bland. We would not order it again. The egg sandwich was bland and we would not order it again. I wish they had funaguchi sake here. Cute ambience inside. They also deliver on uber eats but I haven't tried delivery yet. read more

Was out shopping nearby and wandered in for lunch fully expecting the usual and instead found a surprisingly reasonable omakase in Doral (a sentence I didn't think I'd ever say). The starter omakase runs about $68. It was around seven courses plus dessert, and honestly, every dish pulled its weight. Bonus points to the server, who gave clear, thoughtful explanations. Menu-wise, don't expect a parade of rolls they're clearly nudging you toward the omakase experience. But if that's the goal, they're doing it right. All in all, a really enjoyable meal and one I'd happily circle back to, next time to explore more of the menu. read more

Came through with my cousin on a rainy Friday to catch up, and were pleasantly surprised with this experience. This spot is located in an unassuming shopping center where a Nicklaus building is, which is perfect for when you're in the mood to keep a low profile. It's a small, intimate restaurant with counter top seating and a few tables. From the moment we walked in, the folks chopped it up with us and made jokes, which is great because it broke the ice in a way that felt like you were amongst friends. Excellent service all around. We sat at one of the tables as we intended to do a lot of talking and didn't want to be noisy at the counter. We decided to take the recommendation of the staff and did the omakase express option and a sake sampler pairing with three different kinds. No notes here because everything was great, there were several "MMMM!" moments (wish I remembered what each bite was!) and the first sake we got (pictured) was fantastic. Would definitely buy it to have at home. Big shout out to Allie, who covered our table on her first day, was very cool and definitely helped steer the dinner in the right direction. If you're in the Doral area and in the mood for some quality Japanese, definitely stop by here! read more

Second time at Rakki sushi and again it did not disappoint. It was our anniversary(second anniversary at the restaurant) and they were so nice to give us a Polaroid picture with a cute card. As an appetizer ordered the kumamoto oysters which were so tasty, salmon nigiri that melted in your mouth and then for mains we got the doral and Sakura rolls. As a dessert we ordered the matcha tiramisu which is limited at the moment. Our server Patricia was nice, the atmosphere was great and the restaurant is extremely clean. I'm glad we visited again. read more

We originally came here for the Sando and it was okay. The Sando was nice and hot but I wasn't the biggest fan. I think the biggest thing for me was the price to food ratio. There wasn't that many people there so the service was decent considering but the decor and Japanese vibe was great. The chairs on the other hand are not meant for people with thick thighs. read more

I had heard really great things about this place, so I finally decided to give it a try. We went on a Saturday night and got seated right away without a reservation, which was nice. But a few minutes later, the restaurant filled up quickly, so we definitely got lucky. We ordered one omakase to share, along with the specialty tuna, and a roll. The tuna nigiri was fresh and tasted great, but paying over $40 for six small pieces felt like a stretch. Same with the omakase--it was good, but since we split it just to get a taste, we definitely left still hungry. The roll we got was also super small for the price. Altogether, we spent $150 for what you see in all the photos. The quality was solid and everything tasted good, but it just didn't feel worth that price point. Service was good overall, but our server (who was also the hostess) had a bit of an odd vibe. She kept laughing at the start of every sentence like she was nervous or trying to fill awkward space, which honestly made things feel a little uncomfortable when she was explaining the dishes. Another thing to mention: the ambience was underwhelming. The restaurant is in the middle of a random shopping center in Doral. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for how upscale the prices are, I expected a more elevated or memorable setting. Everyone was professional and very nice, and the food was fresh, but overall I just didn't feel like the experience matched the cost. Probably wouldn't return, at least not at that price. read more

Very cool spot. Wife and I got takeout from here this weekend and despite it being a long haul to order food, the sushi was exceptional, the chicken katsu sando was very good (would have liked a katsu style sauce with it though). The chef is Japanese which is rare to find and awesome since we need more Japanese run Japanese establishments. They have a nice selection of sake and some craft Japanese beers on the menu. Overall this is a great spot and would definitely love to come back! read more

This is quite a hidden gem for sushi! Tucked away in a shopping plaza in Doral, Rakki Sushi & Omakase has some of the most freshest sushi I've ever had. I decided to visit with some friends to try their limited anniversary happy hour menu and I'm so glad I did. It was a 3 course meal for a set price, but I decided to pay extra for certain items on the menu The most memorable pieces to me were the yellowtail tiradito and the Doral 104 roll - so yummy! My chirashi don was also very fresh. Service was efficient, inside is clean. The only downside I would say is that the temperature is freezing - definitely bring a jacket. I will definitely be coming back here to try the omakase! read more

The omakase experience was amazing. It's sad that it won't continue. The details and dedication are really unmatched. Everything was delicious and explained well. We also did a sake pairing and it was perfect. The place is small and cozy and service was excellent. read more

The food was good but Unfortunately, the server was more interested in socializing than checking on us. We usually eat a lot of sushi but since he never checked us, we didnt have an opportunity to order more before the chefs wrapped everything up. What an amazing experience. Imagine having the freshest fish brought in from Japan. That is exactly what I ate yesterday. It was simply amazing. My daughter had eaten here before and said it was fantastic. So, I wanted to try it for myself and brought her along. Our server was very thorough. He explained what each dish would be?, since we did not order specific items. The restaurant chose our dishes. That made foe an adventure. The miso soup was good. I enjoyed the cold noodles a lot. They had a great flavor. The scallop ceviche was good, my daughter loves that so I gave her my portion. We both did not care for the potato salad. We each took one bite and that was it. We gobbled up everything else. The salmon roll was excellent. The sushi mini platter was last. The fish, again is so delicious. There is a huge difference between the fish here and your regular sushi spots around town. I appreciated how the owner came over to explain what the different fish types were on the sushi. I wish I remember what each was. The mochi at the end was very good as well. If you love this type of food, you must come here. We walked out of here full and happy. read more

Rakki sushi provides one of the best omakase experiences in Miami. The service is top notch and the owner truly cares about each customer. Fish is hands down the freshest I've had--they bring it from Japan every week. The menu changes with the seasons and adapts to the ingredients currently available, guaranteeing that they'll always be fresh. I haven't stopped thinking about it since the day I visited and just keep daydreaming about the next time! this is a 10/10 recommended! read more

Everything about this place is quality. Quaint, quiet, and intentional. The food was amazing. Each dish is well thought out, food items carefully selected, and intentionally prepared. The service is top-notch. Nothing was amiss. All staff are there to serve and when they aren't they are still very focused on prep, learning technique, or cleaning. This made for a quiet and relaxing time. This kind of food and service yields a fairly steep price tag, but the combinations of flavors, the elegant simplicity, and the slow feeling of peace we experienced during our time at Rakki Sushi was well worth it. This just may be a regular stop for us whenever we're in town. read more

As a born and raised Japanese person, I have to say that the overall quality was great! Definitely recommend going on nights Jo-san is in to serve you at the counter as he will provide an authentic Japanese experience. My husband and I had the omakase menu with the sake pairing course. We also ordered from the a la cart menu as well. Rakki tries to maintain traditional Japanese sushi while adding western high end flavor such as foie gras and truffles as toppings on their sushi which made some of the dishes derail from being 100% authentic and traditional Japanese cuisine. The sushi rice they used were a bit different from what I was uses to with the use of a smaller grain rice and dryer texture. I will say the quality of fish was fantastic and I am willing to make this our new sushi place when we have our cravings. read more

I love this place! I came here yesterday for their omakase experience and It's everything an omakase should be and it's authentic! All the courses were perfection and they start with an egg that was so delicious and I've never experienced egg in an omakase before. Don't worry the rest was lots of delicious fish like Chu toro, O toro, fatty salmon, red snapper, salmon eggs, and two hand rolls. The o toro was served in the best way possible which was a nigiri seared with a Japanese wood which I'm obsessed with. The service was great, our chef told us many details of the fish we were going to eat before eating it and telling us where it came from which I find very important. The chef was always smiling and asked if everything was okay and the one in charge of the sake's was also very nice and helpful. The ambiance is so nice. It is located in a regular parking lot and when you step inside it's like you teleported with its decor and music. The decor is very Japanese with lots of wood and bamboo and the music was so chill, so chill it was very quiet. I was almost whispering the whole time but I didn't mind it just added to the vibe. Thank you so much Rakki team my boyfriend and I had an amazing anniversary experience and we can't wait to be back! read more

We were looking for a centralized location between Plantation and south Miami for an Omakase dinner date and found this unassuming location in Doral. Located in a strip mall, don't let Rakki's humble appearance fool you. We made reservations for the 15course Omakase experience and 3-sake flight. As the day after Valentines, or perhaps they always do this, they welcomed the ladies with red roses, which I thought was a nice touch. Isabella was our most delightful server, knowledgeable and provided information about the ingredients of each dish with ease. While not a Michelin rated experience, this was still a really good authentic Omakase experience with fresh Japanese ingredients. The sale flight paired well with the meal and each dish was distinct in flavor profile. My only criticism is as a15course experience, it would have been good to have a little more variety in terms having a hot course and other textures involved in the dishes. Otherwise, the quality of the fish and flavor profiles were excellent. As a cancer survivor celebration, they gave us an extra dish and went out of their way to congratulate me, which really touched my heart. I gave them 5 stars because as a small business, they are really trying to go above and beyond, and it shows. Thank you for a wonderful dinner! I look forward to coming back. read more

Amazing experience here with the omakase. Wow. The chef prepared the most delicious and delectable sushi combinations for us. So worth the price, which for Miami, is VERY affordable and reasonable for the quality of food. Everything is imported from Japan and so fresh. I am so happy I was able to experience this. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable, constantly teaching us about each sushi and asking us how we liked it. It was amazing service and felt very comforting. They are very detailed with the warm towel to clean your hands in the beginning, to the small wet napkin between dishes, and everything in between. The ambiance is beautiful and great for a data night or night with friends. Lighting is dim for that intimate feel. I highly recommend coming here if you are a sushi lover or food connoisseur. Wow, wow, wow! This was my first Omakase experience and it will not be my last. This restaurant is phenomenal! Their fish flown is flown in twice per week from Japan. They have handwritten name plates where you sit at the bar. The owner is the chef, and he is awesome! He is young and ambitious. He is meticulous with putting these courses together. The male server is so kind and professional. The assistant to the chef is also amazing. They truly care about the product they put out. You do not see that very often. Every course was amazing. I would never be able to spell or possibly even pronounce what each was. The names of the fish were ones I never heard of. Because I normally eat "American" sushi. What a difference!! I loved or really liked each course. My absolute favorites were the oyster, the one that reminded me of soup and the charred sushi. The only one I only took two minor bites of was the biggest. Dessert. This was high quality but quite possibly eggy, which is not my thing. The lady next to me had a birthday and they brought out a really nice candle. For every pair, they take a picture on one of those newer Polaroid cameras. This is a fantastic place to go for a unique experience. i can see why every single review is 5 stars. Come check out Rakki Sushi & Omakase, Doral's first and only Omakase restaurant! Led by Chef Wang, you will be taken on a journey. Placing one's trust in his skillful, culinary hands, he creates a fabulous, personalized experience. The quality of everything that is served is exceptional and is certified direct import from the Toyosu market, in Japan. They have an exceptional sake selection. We went with the Daishichi Minowamon. I like sake with a little bolder profile, but this bottle paired perfectly with every course. We start off with the Kumamoto oyster, Hirame and Shiso flowers, Bafun Uni and Ikura bowl, and Chawanmushi with white truffle paste, which all were amazing! Then off we went for a nigiri adventure ! From Otoro, Chutoro, and Akami, bite after bite is a heavenly experience! Each nigiri has its own unique flavors. Don't forget the dessert with their Matcha Tiramisu and Seasme Panna cotta! First, the good. Visiting the area, we decided to try it out. Noting we love sushi. We promptly seated. A little explanation was given about Omakase. We chose not go that route. We chose the prix fixe menu with several courses.. the server suggested and recommended certain selections over others. Most everything we had was good or very good. .. The bad; i found they try to push into the omakase choice.. At $128+ the prix fixe menu wasn't cheap. Portions were very small. Wine that we had was $17 for an approx 3 oz pour! For just a normal Chardonnay until I reminded the server their Happy Hour was wines 30% off + special sushi prices. He never mentioned the "Happy Hour" specials. Then came the bill which already included 18% tip. $242.70 inc tip for 2 for their prix fixe menu read more

Wow! Five stars for Rakki. I've been hearing about this spot for a while and I finally got to try them out this past weekend since our friends' got an email that they had an anniversary special going on. This sushi and omakase spot in Doral is in an unsuspecting plaza. The parking here is super easy and once you're inside, you're transported to a different place. The inside is intimate but bright. We came around 2pm on a Sunday and were the only ones dining in. I know this place can get crowded, from what I heard, so our friends made a reservation- we had a group of 5. This is the biggest amount of seats it looks like this place can accommodate. Although we weren't there for the omakase, I was super excited to finally try their food. We got the "Cheers to the Years" special, which came with 3 courses- a small plate, a main plate, and a dessert. They were actually out of some of the stuff we wanted, like the matcha crepe cake, but we still got some good choices. I got the tempura tray for my small plate, the nigiri 6pc combo for my main, and the matcha mochi for dessert. Some of the plates come with upcharges and I think the one that was most worth is was the yellowtail tiradito ($5 extra). The food came out all in good time and it was all SO GOOD. The fish was super fresh and and you can tell everything was put together with a lot of care. My friend also go the Doral 104 roll for us to share and that was probably one of the best rolls I've tried. We had to get a few other things off the menu so I also ordered an otoro hand roll. These don't have prices, at least not that I saw on the menu, and I was a bit surprised to see how steep the cost was for one hand roll so keep this in mind. We dined there for long enough so we also stayed for happy hour and some of us got more nigiri and a carafe of sake, which was 30% I believe. I also got an unagi don to-go and that was still so good when my partner and I had it later. Overall, such a great spot for sushi. I can't wait to come back and try their omakase! read more

4 1/2 stars. 19 year old went for birthdat lunch omakase. The price was very reasonable ($60 I think?). Before arriving, a staff member called to confirm and ask if we had any food allergies/avoidances). We waited until one other group arrived and the chef was ready. Each of the many courses was exquisite. The serving cadence was perfect. I am not sure how long the "soft opening" prices will be available, but definitely a great choice for omakase. read more

There is no better example of the increasing discernment and sophistication of Miami's Fine Dining scene than the opening of Rakki Sushi & Omakase in Doral. If you told anyone 5 years ago that a strip mall in Doral would be home to an omakase restaurant, opened by a Chef that has trained/worked at other Michelin starred omakase establishments in Toronto, New Jersey, and The Den at Azabu on Miami Beach, they would probably look at you weird and say no, this restaurant must be located in another popular/touristy Miami neighborhood. Chef Wang and his team have curated an experience that truly rivals some of the top omakase names that rapidly growing Miami-Dade County has to offer. We were very fortunate to try out their 18 course "Rakki Lucky" experience during their grand opening on the Saturday right before Christmas. This meant the cost was 50% off ($90/per person instead of $180/per person), and oh man was that an EXCELLENT value proposition for everything this omakase included. We got to our reservation about 10 minutes early since we were doing some last minute Holiday shopping nearby. We were seated at end of the counter while we waited, which is where the Rakki bartender attends to patrons. He allowed us to try various types of sake, including an absolutely delicious matcha one that we absolutely need to buy for our liquor cabinet! Due to the nature of the experience and the party before us running a little late, we were seated about 15 minutes after our original reservation time. But, it certainly did not matter to us! Our entire group was sat at the counter with small chalk board name plates/tags in front of our seats (a very personal touch)! The waiters passed out the menu for the evening so we could follow along with the experience. Everyone congratulated my fiancée and I on our upcoming wedding in 2024, which was really sweet! All of the courses from start to finish was a truly memorable experience from start-to-finish. My taste buds are still savoring the tuna tasting experience (Toro, Chutoro, and Otoro), the gold caviar used with some of the other fish dishes (I believe it was with the Mackerel) and the A5 Wagyu. WOW! Everything truly melted in your mouth and reminded you exactly why the certifications/grading for the beef and fish they have flown in from Japan are posted around the restaurant. Every single ingredient used oozed of the utmost quality. What an evening! I am excited to see what the future has for Rakki Sushi & Omakase! The Miami dining scene is on fire! Thank you to Chef Wang and the entire team for such an amazing experience to end 2023 and for the well wishes for our wedding in 2024! read more

Rakki is an 11/10 omakase experience. They're the very first omakase here in South Florida that's in Doral! This already let's you know it's not going to be a mission to drive to/find and pay for parking. On top of that, you're not going to break the bank for very high quality, fresh fish. I took one of my girlfriends there during its grand opening week and they were having a half off special on all foods and omakases. This was my opportunity to try the most expensive one called "Rakki Lucky" which is normally priced at $180pp for 18 courses. We loved it from start to finish! There was not one course that I didn't like so the best I could do was rank them. Sawara, chu-toro, and unagi don were my top favs! But honestly, just try them all! Depending on you, there's different tiers that cater to several price ranges and I don't think any of them will disappoint. What really made it was the service- Chef Wang and his sous chef, Antonio, and server and host (I didn't catch their names). Everyone was very kind and friendly. They knew what they were talking about when we asked all our questions and made lots of conversation with us. It really made the difference and very enjoyable. We can't wait to come back! read more

While visiting Florida, dining out was naturally a highlight of our days. One evening, my husband and I had the pleasure of reconnecting with old friends who live locally, and their dinner suggestion was Rakki Sushi. Having lived in some of the world's top culinary destinations--Dubai, Hong Kong, and beyond--I'm no stranger to exceptional dining. Still, I was delighted to discover something here that felt carefully curated, with the potential to meet my standards for upscale sashimi. I asked the chef to prepare 10-12 pieces of his personal recommendation of the rarest and most dynamic, and to my absolute delight, each piece was exquisite. This was not the typical Americanized fare of low-grade salmon drenched in soy sauce and fried toppings--this was sashimi of the highest quality, so delicate it needed no embellishment, melting effortlessly on the tongue. I nearly swooned with every bite, while the rest of the table enjoyed beautifully plated oysters, elegant crudo, and refined specialty rolls. We arrived at 5:30 on a Monday and took our time reminiscing, all within the restaurant's cozy, clean, and organically designed space tucked in a strip mall. Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded--only a couple of other tables--which made me wonder if perhaps the elevated price point keeps Rakki more of a hidden gem. If so, it's absolutely worth the splurge! For me, food is about more than taste--it's about memory and connection. This dinner not only satisfied my palate but also rekindled all the nostalgia of my love for Asia's culinary artistry. Rakki Sushi is an experience I won't soon forget and I wish them the very best. read more
