Kumamoto oysters

Second time at Rakki sushi and again it did not disappoint. It was our anniversary(second anniversary at the restaurant) and they were so nice to give us a Polaroid picture with a cute card. As an appetizer ordered the kumamoto oysters which were so tasty, salmon nigiri that melted in your mouth and then for mains we got the doral and Sakura rolls. As a dessert we ordered the matcha tiramisu which is limited at the moment. Our server Patricia was nice, the atmosphere was great and the restaurant is extremely clean. I'm glad we visited again.

We originally came here for the Sando and it was okay. The Sando was nice and hot but I wasn't the biggest fan. I think the biggest thing for me was the price to food ratio. There wasn't that many people there so the service was decent considering but the decor and Japanese vibe was great. The chairs on the other hand are not meant for people with thick thighs.

omakase hand rolls, tuna and white fish

I had heard really great things about this place, so I finally decided to give it a try. We went on a Saturday night and got seated right away without a reservation, which was nice. But a few minutes later, the restaurant filled up quickly, so we definitely got lucky. We ordered one omakase to share, along with the specialty tuna, and a roll. The tuna nigiri was fresh and tasted great, but paying over $40 for six small pieces felt like a stretch. Same with the omakase--it was good, but since we split it just to get a taste, we definitely left still hungry. The roll we got was also super small for the price. Altogether, we spent $150 for what you see in all the photos. The quality was solid and everything tasted good, but it just didn't feel worth that price point. Service was good overall, but our server (who was also the hostess) had a bit of an odd vibe. She kept laughing at the start of every sentence like she was nervous or trying to fill awkward space, which honestly made things feel a little uncomfortable when she was explaining the dishes. Another thing to mention: the ambience was underwhelming. The restaurant is in the middle of a random shopping center in Doral. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for how upscale the prices are, I expected a more elevated or memorable setting. Everyone was professional and very nice, and the food was fresh, but overall I just didn't feel like the experience matched the cost. Probably wouldn't return, at least not at that price.

This is quite a hidden gem for sushi! Tucked away in a shopping plaza in Doral, Rakki Sushi & Omakase has some of the most freshest sushi I've ever had. I decided to visit with some friends to try their limited anniversary happy hour menu and I'm so glad I did. It was a 3 course meal for a set price, but I decided to pay extra for certain items on the menu The most memorable pieces to me were the yellowtail tiradito and the Doral 104 roll - so yummy! My chirashi don was also very fresh. Service was efficient, inside is clean. The only downside I would say is that the temperature is freezing - definitely bring a jacket. I will definitely be coming back here to try the omakase!

What an amazing experience. Imagine having the freshest fish brought in from Japan. That is exactly what I ate yesterday. It was simply amazing. My daughter had eaten here before and said it was fantastic. So, I wanted to try it for myself and brought her along. Our server was very thorough. He explained what each dish would be?, since we did not order specific items. The restaurant chose our dishes. That made foe an adventure. The miso soup was good. I enjoyed the cold noodles a lot. They had a great flavor. The scallop ceviche was good, my daughter loves that so I gave her my portion. We both did not care for the potato salad. We each took one bite and that was it. We gobbled up everything else. The salmon roll was excellent. The sushi mini platter was last. The fish, again is so delicious. There is a huge difference between the fish here and your regular sushi spots around town. I appreciated how the owner came over to explain what the different fish types were on the sushi. I wish I remember what each was. The mochi at the end was very good as well. If you love this type of food, you must come here. We walked out of here full and happy.

Everything about this place is quality. Quaint, quiet, and intentional. The food was amazing. Each dish is well thought out, food items carefully selected, and intentionally prepared. The service is top-notch. Nothing was amiss. All staff are there to serve and when they aren't they are still very focused on prep, learning technique, or cleaning. This made for a quiet and relaxing time. This kind of food and service yields a fairly steep price tag, but the combinations of flavors, the elegant simplicity, and the slow feeling of peace we experienced during our time at Rakki Sushi was well worth it. This just may be a regular stop for us whenever we're in town.

Rakki sushi provides one of the best omakase experiences in Miami. The service is top notch and the owner truly cares about each customer. Fish is hands down the freshest I've had--they bring it from Japan every week. The menu changes with the seasons and adapts to the ingredients currently available, guaranteeing that they'll always be fresh. I haven't stopped thinking about it since the day I visited and just keep daydreaming about the next time! this is a 10/10 recommended!

As a born and raised Japanese person, I have to say that the overall quality was great! Definitely recommend going on nights Jo-san is in to serve you at the counter as he will provide an authentic Japanese experience. My husband and I had the omakase menu with the sake pairing course. We also ordered from the a la cart menu as well. Rakki tries to maintain traditional Japanese sushi while adding western high end flavor such as foie gras and truffles as toppings on their sushi which made some of the dishes derail from being 100% authentic and traditional Japanese cuisine. The sushi rice they used were a bit different from what I was uses to with the use of a smaller grain rice and dryer texture. I will say the quality of fish was fantastic and I am willing to make this our new sushi place when we have our cravings.

I love this place! I came here yesterday for their omakase experience and It's everything an omakase should be and it's authentic! All the courses were perfection and they start with an egg that was so delicious and I've never experienced egg in an omakase before. Don't worry the rest was lots of delicious fish like Chu toro, O toro, fatty salmon, red snapper, salmon eggs, and two hand rolls. The o toro was served in the best way possible which was a nigiri seared with a Japanese wood which I'm obsessed with. The service was great, our chef told us many details of the fish we were going to eat before eating it and telling us where it came from which I find very important. The chef was always smiling and asked if everything was okay and the one in charge of the sake's was also very nice and helpful. The ambiance is so nice. It is located in a regular parking lot and when you step inside it's like you teleported with its decor and music. The decor is very Japanese with lots of wood and bamboo and the music was so chill, so chill it was very quiet. I was almost whispering the whole time but I didn't mind it just added to the vibe. Thank you so much Rakki team my boyfriend and I had an amazing anniversary experience and we can't wait to be back!

We were looking for a centralized location between Plantation and south Miami for an Omakase dinner date and found this unassuming location in Doral. Located in a strip mall, don't let Rakki's humble appearance fool you. We made reservations for the 15course Omakase experience and 3-sake flight. As the day after Valentines, or perhaps they always do this, they welcomed the ladies with red roses, which I thought was a nice touch. Isabella was our most delightful server, knowledgeable and provided information about the ingredients of each dish with ease. While not a Michelin rated experience, this was still a really good authentic Omakase experience with fresh Japanese ingredients. The sale flight paired well with the meal and each dish was distinct in flavor profile. My only criticism is as a15course experience, it would have been good to have a little more variety in terms having a hot course and other textures involved in the dishes. Otherwise, the quality of the fish and flavor profiles were excellent. As a cancer survivor celebration, they gave us an extra dish and went out of their way to congratulate me, which really touched my heart. I gave them 5 stars because as a small business, they are really trying to go above and beyond, and it shows. Thank you for a wonderful dinner! I look forward to coming back.

Wow! Five stars for Rakki. I've been hearing about this spot for a while and I finally got to try them out this past weekend since our friends' got an email that they had an anniversary special going on. This sushi and omakase spot in Doral is in an unsuspecting plaza. The parking here is super easy and once you're inside, you're transported to a different place. The inside is intimate but bright. We came around 2pm on a Sunday and were the only ones dining in. I know this place can get crowded, from what I heard, so our friends made a reservation- we had a group of 5. This is the biggest amount of seats it looks like this place can accommodate. Although we weren't there for the omakase, I was super excited to finally try their food. We got the "Cheers to the Years" special, which came with 3 courses- a small plate, a main plate, and a dessert. They were actually out of some of the stuff we wanted, like the matcha crepe cake, but we still got some good choices. I got the tempura tray for my small plate, the nigiri 6pc combo for my main, and the matcha mochi for dessert. Some of the plates come with upcharges and I think the one that was most worth is was the yellowtail tiradito ($5 extra). The food came out all in good time and it was all SO GOOD. The fish was super fresh and and you can tell everything was put together with a lot of care. My friend also go the Doral 104 roll for us to share and that was probably one of the best rolls I've tried. We had to get a few other things off the menu so I also ordered an otoro hand roll. These don't have prices, at least not that I saw on the menu, and I was a bit surprised to see how steep the cost was for one hand roll so keep this in mind. We dined there for long enough so we also stayed for happy hour and some of us got more nigiri and a carafe of sake, which was 30% I believe. I also got an unagi don to-go and that was still so good when my partner and I had it later. Overall, such a great spot for sushi. I can't wait to come back and try their omakase!

Matcha tiramisu

- Great food, great chef, great vibes - The fish is super fresh and flown in from japan - There are a couple of counter seats and table seating is available too - The scallops were fresh and flavourful - My favourites were the salmon + o toro + matcha tiramisu - Great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary!!

Amazing experience here with the omakase. Wow. The chef prepared the most delicious and delectable sushi combinations for us. So worth the price, which for Miami, is VERY affordable and reasonable for the quality of food. Everything is imported from Japan and so fresh. I am so happy I was able to experience this. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable, constantly teaching us about each sushi and asking us how we liked it. It was amazing service and felt very comforting. They are very detailed with the warm towel to clean your hands in the beginning, to the small wet napkin between dishes, and everything in between. The ambiance is beautiful and great for a data night or night with friends. Lighting is dim for that intimate feel. I highly recommend coming here if you are a sushi lover or food connoisseur. You will not regret it.

This is a cozy place with fresh fish, but not a 5* Japanese restaurant. Good service and friendly staff.

The nigiri: unagi was tasty, hotate didn't really taste like anything, salmon was tasty, hamachi and the amaebi was chewy, tuna was tasty. The skyroll wasn't bad and not spicy. It's wonderful because their entire digital menu has pictures which I appreciate SO much! We ordered the sampler for 2 (sushi pizza and croquettes), the 101 roll and the volcano roll. So, even though we ordered the sampler for 2, they brought us the sampler for 4 (which is $56). Because they already brought it to our table, we didnt want to waste anything and chose not to correct them. I'm not entirely sure how they got this wrong. However, everything was delicious. I was leery about the Asian crunch, but the walnuts added a nice mild earthy flavor to the tender salmon. The coquitos were very unique. I've never had fish and curry mustard before. The sushi pizza was fresh and crispy and the croquettes were tasty. While I won't complain about the flavors because everything was delicious, I will complain about the price point we didnt intend on spending. The 101 roll was unlike anything we've had before. A wonderful option for someone who doesnt want to go too heavy on carbs. I dont know how a plantain pairs with salmon and tempura shrimp, but it just works. A little salty, a little sweet, and a decent sized roll. The volcano roll is quite the attention grabber! Piled high with krab salad it turns a basic volcano roll into an extraordinary one. The Kani is fried which doesn't usually happen with volcano rolls and avocado is added to the top. Its a great twist on a classic and the textures are wonderful. Unfortunately, no one came to check on us during the duration of this meal, so it's a good thing we didn't need anything else. For an app, two rolls and 2 cans of diet coke, the total came to over $100. The price point is the only thing keeping me from giving this establishment 5 stars. I would give it 4.5 if Yelp allowed me because the quality is great as are the portion sizes. I'll definitely come back to try other options and probably do a better job of speaking up next time if my order is wrong.

I highly recommend making a reservation, as wait times can get long. Before coming, I did a bit of research and found a link to make a reservation (I couldn't find a direct link on their page, so I had to look it up online). When we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess, who asked for our reservation confirmation. Once confirmed, we only waited about five minutes for our table. Our server, Hani, was really nice and attentive throughout the night. Starting with drinks, they offer 2-for-1 specials. Hani recommended the passionfruit margarita with a Tajín rim, which I decided to try, while my friend opted for the coconut margarita. I have to say, I loved my drink It was flavorful, and you could really taste the passionfruit. I also tried the coconut margarita, it was okay, but the coconut flavor wasn't as strong. I might try the coconut mojito next time. My friends agreed that the passionfruit margarita was the best. I also asked for more drink recommendations, and Hani suggested the guanábana (soursop) madness, which includes coconut rum, rum, guanábana purée, and pineapple. For some reason, I expected it to look like a piña colada but it came as a cute drink with a red purée on top that tasted more like strawberry. I wasn't entirely sure what it was, but it was good! It wasn't very strong (maybe it could use a bit more rum), but I'd still order it again. If you like guanábana, I'd say go for it. Lastly, I tried the tamarind margarita with a Tajín rim, also really good. If you're not in the mood for cocktails, they also have $2 glasses of wine and prosecco, which is a great deal. For food, we started with steamed gyoza, fried shumai, and sushi pizza. I have no complaints, everything was delicious We ended up ordering another round of gyoza (this time fried) and shumai, that's how much we liked them. For rolls, we tried the Doral roll, which has shrimp tempura, krab salad, avocado, and cream cheese, topped with salmon and eel sauce. It was sooo good definitely try it! We wanted to try more, but there's only so much we could eat Even though we shared everything, the portions were filling, especially with drinks included. For dessert, we ordered the Oreo roll. We were debating between that and the fried ice cream, which I low key regret I thought the Oreo roll would be a whole deep fried cookies with ice cream on top, but it turned out to be Oreo crumble wrapped around what seemed like frozen cream cheese and strawberry. I wasn't a fan, the texture wasn't creamy, and it was too frozen, so we had to chew through it. If I could revamp it, I'd keep the whole cookie, deep fry it, add ice cream on top, strawberries, and a drizzle of Nutella, now that would be the I definitely regretted not ordering the fried ice cream or even their brownie The ambiance was good, the usual noise level of a busy restaurant. We sat near the front, so it didn't feel too crowded. It's a great spot for friends or a date night. There's parking in front of the restaurant and nearby since it's in a shopping center. Our server consistently checked on us, and other staff members also came by to clear empty plates and glasses, which we appreciated. Would I come back? OF COURSE I have to try more dishes (and drinks) that I didn't get to this time. A table near us ordered the Coquitos Crunch (I'm assuming it was good because it looked amazing), the volcano roll, and the dynamite salad, all on my list for next time! I'll definitely keep this spot as one of my go-to places for happy hour with my girls
