The Sweet and Spicy poke was great, but the shoyu poke was a bit too salty for me. Would definitely come again to try your other entrees!

Ok. Imma say i was suprised. The Saimin surpassed my expectations. I've only had take out…read morebefore and its been eh. But I think the key is common sense in ordering. I'll be frank, I know people who have gotten food poisoning from here- so I would avoid foods that have bones in them and require attention to temperature. But for the more fast food type items, this place hits and the prices are reasonable. The their ramen is very good. My husband got their over easy eggs and spam on rice, which was cooked perfectly. And their side salads SMACK. They have a great selection of grab and go tropical drinks as well. We will definitely be back.

It's an L&L Hawaiian Barbecue--what more can I say? If you're familiar with the chain, you'll know…read moreexactly what to expect: classic local-style Hawaiian comfort food served up quickly and consistently. The cool part? This one is located right here in Alaska, which makes it a bit of a gem for anyone who's craving a taste of the islands far from home. The menu here is pretty much the same as what you'd find at any L&L location in Hawaii: plate lunches with generous portions of rice, meat, and of course, that iconic mac salad. Speaking of the mac salad--while still tasty, I did notice it was just slightly different from what you'd get back home. Not a dealbreaker at all, but if you're a die-hard local food lover, you might pick up on the subtle change in texture or seasoning. Still, it hits the spot. Service is exactly what you'd expect from L&L--no frills but efficient. You order at the counter, they cook your food fresh to order, and then you pick it up when it's ready. The staff was friendly and kept things moving, even during a busier time of day. The location is super convenient--it's inside a mall food court, which means there's plenty of parking, and you don't have to worry about finding a spot. However, keep in mind that being in a food court means the seating area isn't exactly relaxing or quiet. It's functional, a bit noisy, and not particularly decorated--but honestly, you're here for the food, not the ambiance. If you're homesick for Hawaii or just visiting Alaska and curious about what Hawaiian-style BBQ is all about, this is a solid stop. It won't blow your mind, but it will definitely leave you satisfied and full. Sometimes, all you really need is a comforting plate lunch to make your day better--and this place delivers just that.
