OMG! Favorite place to stop while I'm in Anchorage for lunch. The pork belly is to die for in the lumpia Yum Yum.

I'm starting my "office lunch adventure series" off with my most favorite places. Eldrics formerly known as Jeepney, is AWESOME! I'm going to be honest I let my co-worker order everything so I'm not 100% sure what all we got but WOW.....it was DELICIOUS! It helps to have someone familiar with the cuisine to order. The pancit was great, and the lumpia had the best sauce! The highlight was some sort of spicy vinegar coconut dipping sauce my colleague called pinoy sauce. Everything came hot, well packaged, ample portions, and the whole order was correct. All important when ordering delivery. read more

I love trying new dishes! I travel every Monday for work so my friend and I stopped by Eldric's for lunch since it was on the way to the airport. You know it's going to be good when there is a line. When you walk in, you choose what you want form a selection of dishes in the hot case and they serve you up a HUGE serving. My friend and I got one of each - not having a clue of what we selected. Everything was great - and we both left full and happy with our choices. If you want to try Filipino food - try Eldric's. They're fast, fresh and a good price for the amount of food. read more

Holy crap! I did not expect to get such good Filipino food while in Anchorage, but here we are! Got a 2-entree plate with pancit and bistek- asked them to pour some bistek sauce over my rice too - SARAP! Don't forget to ask for sabaw (soup) too - so freakin' tasty! I'll be first to say that I am no expert on Filipino food. Another reviewer describes this spot as being a "turo turo" style restaurant. I had to google it. It means "point point" and refers to places where there's a hot case and you point at what you want scoops of. That's definitely the style of this place. I pointed to two things that looked interesting. One dish looked like spicy chicken, the other looked like pork and veggies. Both dishes tasted stale. There was a distinct lack of freshness. The veggies tasted fishy. Again, maybe they are supposed to taste like that, but I found it not to my tastes. I had to choke it down. It's about $11 for two point points. It comes with two scoops of white rice. Staff is really friendly, and interior is really clean. The sriracha sauce also tasted off: very watery texture, with much more vinegar than heat in the flavor. read more

Having lived with my grandma and many other excellent cooks from the Philippines for many years in Hawai'i, I would say I know really really good Filipino food. This is an authentic Filipino restaurant.. very similar to the restaurants in Hawai'i. Feels like home, minus the kakanin (please make). Okie, so my son's wrestling practice is right by here so I have picked up dinner 3 times now. I usually do half rice half pancit (Filipino noodle dish). Every time I've been I've gotten the beef stew, which is Filipino style not what you would think of as beef stew, if you know the taste of bay leaf and shoyu it has those flavors. Very very good, rich and deep flavor, meat is fall apart tender. I've also had the pork BBQ stick in the case, pretty good, large chunks of fat you have to watch out for but most Filipinos eat that regularly, I'm just not that Filipino yet The chicken and pork adobo are both winners, some of the better adobo I've had, they definitely have perfected their recipe it's very rich and I like mine SOUR and it doesn't disappoint. The pork guissantes is very flavorful, rich tomato broth with tender meat, can't go wrong. They give you HUGE portions and the price isn't bad, for two large plates and a bbq stick I paid $31. read more

These guys are ridiculous. I placed an order for an important event at work. Everything were paid. I talked to them freaking how many times to confirmed it. Time came to pick up orders and they said they forgot my orders. They kept saying they have talk to their boss about it. I heard their boss saying $10 more dollar and and something else and then they offered me to get slices of Cassava($5) instead of full half tray which what i ordered! They could've just talk to me if theres problem with pricing or something but everything was paid already though! Bunch of liars. I just canceled everything. Very unprofessional. Went to Eldric's to dine in today with my family. Was not impressed. The Adobo was bland & some parts of it was cold. Meanwhile, the pancit was soggy & rice needed more water. Service was ok. $5 fee for credit card is ridiculous, even though they filled up our plate, they should've payed attention to when they stacked both of it onto one tray causing some of it to spill when we picked it up. read more

Doing this review just based off the food. The food is amazing! Great authentic Filipino food that's ready for people on the go! The Menudo is my personal favorite. The meat is always so tender, the sauce is always perfect. The serving sizes are great and not so small. The Shanghai is always side to get always have a crunch to it. Upon many strong recommendations I went to this establishment for dinner. No one was there but me for dining in; everyone else ordered "to go". I had the two item Combo with two scoops of white rice; no brown rice available. The two items I chose were the Chicken Wing/Mini Drumstick Adobo and Pork Caldereta; plus, the small bowl ($8.00) of the Pork Sinagan with Baby Bockchoy with broth. The Pork Sinagan - was a disappointment as it was luke warm broth and three small mini ribs and about 4 strands of baby bockchoy. The Pork Caldereta had raisins in it as part of the ingredient sweetener ; the Chicken Wing/Mini Drumstick pieces still had the feathers on the skin of this meat item. Yuck! The mini small container of the vinegar w/ diced white onions is not worth $2.00. Overall experience, this establishment gets two stars. Granted it was at 5:30 PM when I went ... you would think this place would be busy - NOT! Overall cost paid = $32.00 - so not worth it .... read more

Today, November 12, 2021, we bought ala carte kare-kare for $20. We tried their kare-kare because it looks good, UNFORTUNATELY, the KARE-KARE OXTAIL MEAT WAS VERY CHEWY. I was very disappointed and made me decide to recook at home the undercooked oxtail meat of the kare-kare we bought. We'll not buy their kare-kare again unless the meat is tender. read more

The only reason why I would agree with the negative reviews is only if it's for the lack of choices. Yes, if you come in late in the afternoon, chances are they might not have a lot of food left. Because they have a lot of customers!!! Which means they have great food. Also, this is a "turo turo" style, they cook just enough batch to last a day, and not have left overs the next day. We have other Filipino restaurants in anchorage but Eldric's by far the best when it comes to food quality and taste. I am Filipino and yes, I eat here at least once a week. One of my favorite places to eat in Anchorage! Delicious Filipino food in a welcoming environment, good prices and most importantly, an authentic feel. Cafeteria-style options means there's never a long wait, but even their regular menu items are served quickly too. I love their food but they always seem to run out even before 2pm. Went in at about 2 pm and saw that they were out of one of their beef dishes. Asked if they were making more & was told that it would be a 30 minute wait. Waited for more than 30 minutes only to be told that it will be longer because they have just started cutting the meat. Customer service sucks too. As a customer, this is one of my pet peeves. Please don't waste my time. You won't like it if I did that to you. read more

As a Filipino, I go to many Filipino restaurants. I have dined in small and more well known restaurants alike. I would say Eldric's has one of the best Filipino dishes and I enjoy the environment. All in all, I was pleased with my experience and plan to go here regularly. read more
