Chicken was perfectly crispy yet so easy to bite/chew. Miso soup was very flavorful and the salad tasted fresh. *Saba Shioyaki Teishoku(9.3/10)- lightly salted grilled mackerel served with ponzu sauce. Satisfied with the portion size and the fish was grilled perfectly. Just the right amount of seasoning. *Under the Sea Roll(9.2/10-) yellowtail, avocado inside and topped with tuna, salmon, eel, tobiko, unagi sauce. Quality of the fish high. Both rolls have just the right of sauce that soy sauce is not even necessary. *Sunset Roll (9.3/10) - unagi, cucumber inside and topped with tuna, salmon, slices of lemon, unagi sauce. Quality of the tuna and salmon tasted so fresh. Slice of lemon added just the right amount tangy zest to each bite as you chew. Ambience: great for small to large group. Restaurant looked clean. Divided into two sections. For a place that's small the menu has plenty of options Service: great service. Server checks on us for water refills. Wait was not long yet the quality and presentation were amazing Price: price is worth the quality of the food Parking: free parking spots in the front

The staff are very sweet and welcoming. The shop is on the smaller side, but there is generally not a wait on a weekday evening. They offer QR code ordering at tables or a tablet by the door to order to go. I generally order their Chirashi (pictured) and a salmon hand roll. The fish is cut well, the salmon specifically is so so buttery. The hand roll is PACKED with salmon. Even their rice is nicely flavored. Definitely worth stopping by if you want a great meal at a great price.

I really enjoyed the salmon sashimi, spicy tuna hand roll, and the lion king roll. The fish was nice and soft in these three dishes and super tasty. The hamachi lover roll and the sunflower roll were solid, but some of the fish in the middle was a bit chewy. They are super generous with the fish though! The chicken curry was definitely a bang for your buck but the carrots were really undercooked. Now for what I think could be improved! The tuna nigiri and sashimi was really stringy, stiff, and didn't taste super fresh. I also think that the red snapper sashimi had the same issue. Overall, I would be back to try more rolls because they are so affordable! I'd recommend this for sushi on a budget, also considering it's conveniently located right across from San Jose state. The place itself was casual and cozy, and the food comes out pretty fast. The staff are quick!

While it's not the best I had, the entire experience was brilliant. I don't think there is a better value around. Parking was not an issue, with plenty of spaces in open lot, although it does tend to get crowded during peak hours. The interior decor is minimalist and elegant. I'd call this a medium size venue with a decent amount of seating inside. I totally understand how they made the top 100 in the SF Chronicle list, it's so well deserved!…read more I have only heard golden reviews of goodtime bar through peers and thought it was a great time to finally check it out! I came here with a friend on a weekday for dinner and it was not packed at all. The atmosphere was very minimalist and clean, with a cute disco ball in the corner. This establishment requires you to order at the bar (makes sense it's a bar), and then they did you a number for the table so they can deliver your food. Any drinks you order they will make it right then and there for you to bring over. In terms of food, here is everything we ordered and my thoughts! *Deviled eggs: You would think since it's deviled eggs, there wouldn't be anything too special about them but I appreciated the small pops of salmon roe that added a nice textural play with the creamy eggs! * Bluefin tostada: Absolutely delicious with fresh tuna, paired with mango, on a crispy wonton chip. What a rich treat. * Arancini: The twist of fusion flavors was great. I love how the Japanese curry added a nice mix of umami, paired with the sharp creamy kimchi sauce. Definitely a favorite! * Pork belly: Pull apart, juicy, and tender! These paired actually really well with the arancini for a good balance of rice and meat. * Red miso crème brûlée: interesting sweet and salty flavor combination between the red miso and Madagascar vanilla. Not too overpowering tho. A lovely meal was had here!
