One of the best bar food spots in MKE, hands down. Great service, love the wings fries and don't sleep on the burger

Haven't been here since before COVID. Brought my wife and 21 yr old son (newbie to Points East.) If a business in Milwaukee should win an award for operating protocol during the Pandemic...Points East wins hands down. COVID sucks, but Points East still creates a great atmosphere and cares a great deal about customer safety. Whoever came up with the procedures is a good mind. The food....always a treat. read more

Best wings in the city, hands down. If anyone says otherwise it's because they've never been..simply put. Where Milwaukee goes for wings.

Several coworkers invited me to try these "wings of legend;" apparently some of, if not the best, wings in Milwaukee. I've eaten a lot of food, and I've eaten a lot of wings. These are definitely in the top five. I've heard they are dry rubbed, deep fried, then grilled. The resulting combination is fantastic. The seasoning is a little salty, a little sweet, and packs just enough heat. The fry gives it a satisfying crisp and keeps the juice locked in. The grilling loads it up with some char and some smoke. These are addicting wings: I found myself still wanting more despite being quite full after 18 of them. There were also garlic fries and cheese curds ordered for the table. The cheese curds were too cold for judging, but the garlic fries were great even when cold. I like the layout of the place, but it's a bit confusing. There's an entrance, a bar, and some seating. Then you go through a hallway to get to the restrooms, but if you continue on, there's another seating area. From what I've gathered, the place was renovated for more room. One of my personal gripes with most bars, pubs, etc. is their choice of music and volume of said music. If I notice the music, it's usually not a good thing: it's too loud. I did not have a problem at Points East. Wings of legend indeed. I will return. read more

Yes, the hype is true. Well for me anyways. Those wings had to have been easily the most delicious, charred, juiciest wings of my lifetime. Wowza. Full disclosure, the other half of the party thought they were just okay. So if you like charred and juicy, mama Mia. This is where it's at. And the garlic fries... Ahhhhhmazing! read more

Let's start off with a really helpful hint for all the newbies.... Go order the food AT THE bar and they will deliver it to your table. Now onto the food... The wings were actually pretty delicious... Only one flavor and it's a spicy smokey flavor ... Not to overly spicy. We had mozzarella sticks and a order of garlic fries and they were also pretty good. Would definitely come back! read more

I have attempted to give this place service many times. Each time I have been faced with racism. This is the only things that it could be. I understand that there are rules, but this is a bar setting. I should not be screamed at by a bartender for being on my phone. If the policy is you can't take orders while a customer is on the phone, that is fine keep working with other customers. There were a group of whites laughing laugh and talking amongst each other (not quietly of course it is a bar). However, I was talking on the phone to my client and all of a sudden I am being too loud and "need" to get off my phone. The owner has justified this behavior before. I am convinced that they will not take this seriously until a civil suit has been filed. My husband is an attorney and I am strongly considering to file one due to racism. This is ridiculous that we are faced with this behavior in 2022. Sick of it! read more

The best wings I've ever had and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this to anyone new in town looking for great wings on the East side. read more

Order the wings. They only do them one way, a semi-dry rub with just the right amount of heat. Washed down perfectly by one of the many beers on tap. No frills. read more

The best place for wings in Southeastern Wisconsin. If it's busy, expect to wait awhile but definitely worth it. We stopped here on Christmas eve and got some wings and fries! The small dive bar also has a wide variety of beers on tap, some that are more rare to find at other bars. The service was great and the bartender was very attentive! We will definitely be stopping back. read more

Great wings. Best in Milwaukee in my opinion. Highly recommend. They are dry rub so if you're looking for sauce, bring your own. Decently priced and the beer is always great - tasting and options. Only benefit of the coronavirus is that this place now does carry out orders which they hadn't done before. Hope they continue that trend in the future. read more

We just love, love, love the hot wings. They are so authentic. Once we went and the wings were so hot my nose was running. Other times the wings were not so hot. So, if you love watching games of any sport my favorite is college basketball (I like em young, but legal), please stop by. The servers are wonderful. The atmosphere is great and the drinks are strong. If you don't want to wait an hour for your wings don't go on Thursday night football night, like we did. We waited an hour for the wings. Well worth the wait. Recently they changed their fries, and I can honestly say, I like them. read more

Best Wings I've ever had, seriously. A very substantial beer list for a bar this size. Lets recap, amazing wings and beer= a winner There are no servers here just bartenders and a "bouncer". Treat the bartenders right and you will get your beer timely. It will be busy, be prepared for an hour wait for the wings, well worth it. read more

I had a wide range of experiences at this location. Points East is well know to have one of the "best wings" you can get in Milwaukee area. Unlike other wing places, Point East only does 1 type of wing (medium/hot) and they do it extremely well. The wings are soaked, deep fried and then grilled to give them a unique taste that many bars around have unsuccessfully tried to copy. Service can be hit or miss depending on the day, time and who is working. You order at the bar so if you need a refill on a drink you might have to wait in line for the bartender to free up. For example, I had to wait for about 15 min this past saturday to get a water refill because a few groups of people walked in with only one bartender during lunch hour. Also, I have heard the owner is not the most pleasant person but have personally not had any poor experiences. I would consider this place a dive bar with excellent wings. If you are looking for a great basic wing this is your spot. Easily, a top 3 wing place for me. read more

Food came out fast but the whole batch of wings were terribly burnt. All you could taste was char. Also only 1 thing of ranch for 18 wings? 2 should be standard if they're all going to be burnt. read more

I believe that Points East Pub has the best chicken wings in Milwaukee (easily). Coming from the East Coast, I have been to plenty of amazing places that serve delicious chicken wings. However, these establishments have been harder for me to find out here in MKE. That is, until I found out about Points East. Their wings are flavorful, spicy and have that charred/grilled taste to them. They are tender and fall off the bone with each bite. The reason I am giving Points East 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because of the time it can take to get your wings. Since this place is so famous (in MKE) for this fare, it may take upwards of an hour to get 12 chicken wings. Also, the wings are about $1 each (i.e. 6 wings are over $6) -- So definitely not the cheapest wings you can get. Finally, it is important to know that you CANNOT place an order of wings to go here. I am assuming it is just because they already get so much business in the restaurant that they do not need to provide customers with the option to carry-out, but they don't! If you want wings to bring home and enjoy, you will need to find another restaurant. read more

The Chicken Wings are INCREDIBLE. Definitely get the order for 18pcs, 12 just isn't enough. Great place to watch a game, friendly bartenders, good vibes. read more

Not a wings connoisseur, but these are the best I've ever had. Amazing grilled flavor. Bleu cheese, ranch and celery were very good. I subtracted a star because I didn't care for the fact that we had to scavenge for a table, which took a while. I hate inconveniencing people by asking when they are going to leave. The pro of this is you don't have to tip a waiter. Service at the bar was very good. Also $2 PBR bottle special on Wednesday's. I'd never consider myself a "wings kinda guy." I'd come back for these. read more

As every Milwaukean will tell you this place has the best wings in MKE! They only have one "flavor" which makes ordering super simple! They sell them in quantities of 6, 12, 18 etc. Go on a week night if you want it to be quick otherwise you will probably face a long wait to find a table. You can order from the bar but eating wings standing up is not ideal. They also have a good selection of beers so I usually get a drink while waiting for the wings! The sides are not great, I once waited over an hour for a side of garlic fries which were just fries with pre canned, minced garlic dumped on top. Stick to the wings!! read more

We ordered the 18-piece wings they were perfectly they came out nice and hot with an order of fries that were fresh and still hot and my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger which he said was great. No kids no take out adult time only at point east pub read more

Arguably the best wings in Milwaukee. Have been here on multiple occasions and it's great. Service is always good at the bar and the wings are delicious. Highly recommend !! read more

I just got back from Vegas and decided to stop here after looking on google who has the best wings in Milwaukee! So, I left the airport and stopped by and the wings are fantastic and I really like that they grill them instead of frying them! They only have one way they are served with a dry rub and has a spicy, hot kick to it! The atmosphere was great and will definitely be back when I am in town! GREAT WINGS HERE!! read more

I don't get what the hype is all about. The wings took a while to come out and they were dry and overcooked. Only having one flavor made it boring, especially cause they were hard and dry. Tex-Mex Corn Fritters were tasty, but kinda expensive for what you get. They are also just a frozen product that they order from a distributor and fry. Came across this article recently and I had no idea this happened. http://archive.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/39977947.html/ Overall, I will stick to my regular place for wings and will steer clear from a place that has this kind of people. P.S. I'll let you in on my preferred place for wings.......................................................... Camino. read more

All reviews rave about the wings which everyone agrees are the BEST! Next visit try the jalapeño poppers, FANTASTIC!!

Naomi is way off base. I've been a guest for 10 years. As a "POC" I have zero issues with the service. I wish other establishments treated all people as they do at Points, all of us are regulars. The wings are the best and the service is top notch. read more

I've heard for years about how amazing their wings are, but have yet to try. We tried to go on a Saturday night and it was so packed that we hardly could get a beer and didn't even try to order wings considering it took forever getting a beer. Decided to go back on a random Tuesday or Wednesday night at like 5:30 PM and the bar was busy but not crazy. Got a few beers and started to order some wings, but were told it would be 1 hour and 40 minutes. Seriously? I get the whole "we're a bar that happens to serve food" shtick but this is utterly ridiculous. Almost 2 hours for wings you just drop in a fryer and toss on a grill? That's a joke. Will not attempt a 3rd try, no matter how good those wings are supposed to be, plenty of other good wing shops in town. read more

Points East has the best wings in Milwaukee! This place is straight forward, one kind of wing, no list of 20 different sauces to decide from focus on perfection. Their dry rub is perfect, you don't have to worry about getting sauce all over your face and your hands aren't a sticky mess. read more

Why has it taken me so long to come here? The wings here are some of the best in MKE. Tender, juicy meat with a crispy outside coated with their house dry rub. UGH. So good. Not too spicy, but will definitely clear out your sinuses after 5 or 6. Also had their sweet potato waffle fries basket. Waffle fries are always a good choice. It is primarily a bar, so it is loud and crowded and whatnot. If you're not into that, come anyways. The wings are worth it. read more

The wings are the absolute best!! At first I was unsure about not getting to pick a dry rub but theirs is the best. It definitely has a little kick to it. Only downside is you get charged for a side of ranch but whatever I guess. read more

The tuna sandwich was not good. The fish was overcooked to within an inch of its life. Had the wings again and I still don't like them. They're just not what I want in a wing. It's a dry rub, spicy to the point of not being edible, and the wings are a bit small and dry. Still, everyone loves this place. But having been here twice now, I'm just not impressed with Points East. read more

I came in on a random night to grab wings and regretted the decision immediately because it was game 4 of the Bucks playoff game. Nowhere to sit and standing room barely existing, I didnt know what to do (you can't place to go orders) but I decided to wait it out because I was starving. 40 mins later someone finally abandoned their seats and I got to place my basic wing garlic fry order. It took another 30 minutes to come out but it was worth the wait. The wings weren't crispy per say but well done and not saucy but flavorful. The Bucks ended up sweeping and I got to eat so all was well. read more

Buck-fiddy PBR bottles on Wednesday and Joy Division on the speakers. This is a good start to my third visit here. Also, arriving early enough that there are only a few people at the bar means I'm finally going to have the wings that everyone has been raving about these last several years. The beer prices have been fine on my previous visits, but the place has always been so packed that there was no prayer in getting a seat to actually eat here. The wings aren't cheap, but that shouldn't stop you. It's okay to spend for quality. $16 for 18 substantially sized wings that are cooked in a two step process, served crispy with a little char from the grill. There's only one flavor, and it's got a little bit of bite, but that's really all they need. I had the 18 with an order of the seasoned sweet potato waffle fries and only left a few fries behind. I'm also a fatty when it comes to wings, so you may not need that many. I loved them. I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone as being top-tier in the city. If I can find the time, I'll try to be back in again before the official Milwaukee departure. To note: get there early and still be prepared to wait once you've ordered. As they point out clearly, they are a bar that serves food, not a restaurant. The kitchen isn't built for speed. read more

I have experienced much better. As others have pointed out it is in a strange location, but that isn't something to deter me from "the best wings". We walked in and no one looked up. It was about 6:30 and the place was maybe half full. My date walked up to the bar and grabbed a couple drinks, then ordered 18 wings, onion petals and garlic fries. One of the bartenders was mildly attentive, and he put our order in. Of note, there was one chick behind the bar, and she was not only taking and filling drink orders, but doing ALL the cooking/grilling/frying AND delivering it to all the tables. She was seriously overworked and still managed to not act like it. There was an older bartender who seriously was a waste of space. I wanted a second beer and quite seriously stood at the bar for a good 10 minutes without acknowledgement. This is not to say he did not see me, as I am sure he did. He sat and messed around with the cable, poured HIMSELF a drink, etc. Finally I just went and sat back down pissed off. The wings really were great, and that earns both the stars that I am giving. The garlic fries had real garlic chunks which would have been great if they weren't all at the bottom of the soggy/greasy paper boat. The onions were just fine. With the right amount of beer and service, I would return for the wings. However, with the "you're not a regular so forget you' attitude, I have no interest in returning. read more

The 5th Star is for the wings. They're the best around, so I gotta drop props on my peeps at Points East. You feel me? Mad flavor. Big & meaty. It's a great place for a game, but it can get a bit loud. Loud with a crowd. People love this place, son. Solid beer selection; not a crap-ton of taps. But they serve pitchers! Authentic Milwaukee atmosphere without any pretensions. Serious bartenders who know what they're doing. They may not act like they're your best friend right away. But that's because they aren't. You don't need a hug every time you walk into a business, do you? Neither do the regulars. They have some legit regulars. And if you've been there more than once, you will probably recognize said regulars. They're there nearly always, regulating. And they are recognizable. Regularly. No need to order anything other than the wings. But if you must, go ahead. You'll be one of the few. If you don't know if you want ranch or blue cheese with your wings, you are most likely doing it wrong. It's blue cheese. Like Joey Diaz says, "It's either blue cheese with wings, or..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhP-vABgknQ read more

My husband and I recently stopped in here after seeing a show at Shank Hall. We used to go here back in the day, quite a bit. We eventually stopped coming here as often, because it started to become quite a hike - we moved out to the 'burbs and left city life in the dust. Anyway - when we walked in the door, we were blown away! Totally re-done! NEW BATHROOMS! (By far the best renovation they could have done, ever!) Nice clean area, they took out the stage in the back for more seating (and to put the bathrooms in). Same friendly bartenders as we remember. Service is always fast, prices are pretty low considering the area they're located in. Still has that "corner bar-esque" feel to it. My husband loves the wings (honestly I'm really not a wing fan so I can't comment on that aspect). Their beer selection is awesome - but check to make sure what is on tap as it looks to change often. Next time we're around, we'll be stopping in again. They've made a lot of welcome improvements and it looks really nice! read more

Yes. Ooh, yes. This was my first time and I smiled all the way through countless, delectable wings, $1.75 bottles of PBR and warm, friendly service. Erika, our multitasking bartender, made us feel welcome as my head spun watching her service an ever growing crowd. I had heard that it gets busy, so we went early and parked at the bar. Go early like me. Let those cold PBRs get pulled from an ice filled reservoir and trickle down your throat as you gorge on plump, tender, just spicy enough wings. There were tons of other liquor and beer options but I only had eyes for wings and Pabst. The place is clean, bright and lovely. The people employed there are, as well. Give it a shot and you won't regret it. read more

Thought I'd check what the hype was about as I love good wings........ By the way don't bring a minor here as the owner is a registered pedo so any kids are asked to leave the place immediately by another employee. Seriously . Bring your kid in and see for yourself. Anyway went back with a group of 5. Like all the reviews say no "table service,no quick service" from a bar that was half full at best. Bartender/owner Not friendly and had the personality of a shoe. How about the worlds worst service? No one offers refills on water or soda and its a wait every time you need anything from his highness behind the bar. On to the wings $15bucks for 18 wings that took almost 40 minutes. They are not that great and the burger which is advertised as Angus beef was tiny in a dry roll and comes with a small bag of chips. Filthy bathroom -no parking. Go to Elsa's for wings , Leff's on state on Tuesdays and Colonel Harts , on weds for much better wings on special. Even so bad as I would recommend bw3 or kfc! Point East is a bit full of themselves as they don't do carry out? I can't imagine how bad that would be as they are bad at in house service and quality. My party will never return. Voted "best wings" by bicycle riding ,Birkenstock, tree hugging east siders maybe? Expand your search a mile. This place blows , would never recommend and never going back! read more

Wings: 5 stars Service: 2 stars Drinks (beer selection): 4 stars Average: 3.5 - rounding up The wings were great -- grilled and full of flavor. They do take longer than you would expect. Yelper Carrie G. ordered pickle fries and they were nice and crispy since the pickle was sliced thinly. There was no table service and you have to order at the bar. I would have had no clue had I not been meeting up with other people. The beer selection was above average, yet not impressive. I would go back, but they don't rank at the top of my list. read more

You'll want to slap somebody!! Points East is a true 5 Star wing spot that does it right. Grilled wings with one flavor is simply the way to go. You'll leave satisfied every time guaranteed!! read more
