We visited Broken Bat on a rainy Sunday afternoon, right as they opened. The bartenders (I think one was the owner) were welcoming and quick to answer questions and offer samples before we made our final selections. I had the High 'N Tight and the Captain Cliche, and I'll be honest, I did not detect a huge difference between the two, though I liked both a great deal. The decor is truly a baseball fan's dream. Aficionados of any team, not just the Brewers, will enjoy the vibe. My husband really liked looking at certain walls covered in baseball cards. I enjoyed looking at old posters of pervious brews offered by Broken Bat. They have come up with some creative names! There is plenty of seating, and the seating options are great for groups. Several groups filtered in while we were there, including a pedal bar tour. Music was excellent (some older tunes) and not too loud, which is something I have appreciated with age! read more

I've been wanting to check out broken bat brewing. I had an unused gift card but never made my way over. I came on a Saturday afternoon probably shortly after they open. It wasn't very crowded and allowed dogs. The bartender was quick and very nice. I had a strawberry sour and it was very smooth and easy to drink. We came when they had their walkers point makers market and they had a nice space upstairs for all of their makers. You got your sports televisions above the bar, plenty of seating in their larger space, and a full on wiffle ball court that's reservable! That and they keep upping their beer and seltzer game. I was pretty shocked I hadn't come across this place when doing my research on a Milwaukee visit. Someone at the nearby Bobblehead Hall of Fame told me about it and I knew I had to work it into my visit. If you're a baseball and craft beer fan this place is an absolute must. Every beer name is a play on something baseball related and the relatively new taproom would make for a great place to catch games. Even from a purely beer fan perspective I think they're worth a visit. They had a few unique options and seem to cycle new ideas in and out pretty frequently. The two unique ones I tried were a white wine aged witbier and a tequila aged lager. I thought the witbier was fantastic, the lager was a little less my speed, but if you're a tequila fan I'd highly recommend. I wish there were an equivalent spot available to me in Austin and more elsewhere around the country. Can't recommend this place enough read more

We are Packers fans from Indy. When headed to Green Bay, Broken Bat was our second stop on the trip of the year. We found the brewery online and (after talking to the team at Broken Bat) decided some wiffle ball would be the perfect respite on the way to the Tundra. We were not disappointed. The place has a baseball theme and we were welcome to sample the beers prior to first pitch. We rented the field for an hour and after serious stretching played 3 three-inning games of 2v2. My husband and I got married on April 16, 2022. We were looking for a space to host our rehearsal dinner the night before. Baseball is a mutual interest of ours, and it was a recurring theme throughout our wedding. Broken Bat is one of our favorite breweries, so we reached out to them to see if we could host our event there. With our group size, the brewery wasn't a good fit, but we were told that they were in the early stages of building an upstairs space. The owner said he would check back in with us at a later date to see if we were still in need of a place. We reconnected later and were told great news! The upstairs, Lumber Room, was on track to finish up by spring of 22. That made our event the first to be held there. Everyone we spoke with was lovely. Celina made this entire experience easy for us and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. With us being the first party in their new space, they worked with us on time, cost, and group size. We did receive an email a couple weeks before saying the elevator was not on schedule to be finished by our event. Luckily, this didn't affect anyone in our party, so nothing changed for us. The Lumber Room is terrific! It is extremely spacious, with plenty of tables and chairs. There was plenty of room after our 50 guests. The woodwork is beautiful and it's a cool area. We got catering from Glorioso's and the staff helped to set everything up. The bartenders were attentive and helpful to people making decisions about what beers to drink. We had plenty of space to mingle, eat, and do a wedding party run-through. Walker's Point neighborhood is awesome and this is the perfect place for an event! Most of the beers have some silly names, but I wouldn't let that throw you off. The bartender told me one of there most popular is the Beach Ball Pineapple Milkshake IPA and I would have to agree it is delicious. The food truck outside is a must stop as well, whether it's before, during, or after. If I lived in Milwaukee I would definitely be here frequently, even if it was just to pick up a four-pack. We went to Broken Bat for a friend's birthday and it was great! We reserved a wiffle ball field where they can accommodate up to 20 people (we had a lot less than that but it was nice to have the space). We were able to quickly sign our waivers and grab drinks at the bar. We reserved the field for an hour but we were easily able to extend it for another hour when nobody else had it booked after us. With the amount of people we had it was extremely affordable. The service was great and there were plenty of drinks for us to choose from at the bar. In the beginning of the year, I heard there was a poké popup happening at Broken Bat Brewing and thought, beer? Poké? Sounds good to me! A poké spot whose location is right across the street, Aloha Poké, was in house making bowls and Broke Bat had plenty of beers to choose from. Broken Bat's basement location is warm, casual, comfortable, and inviting. We decided immediately, from a strictly atmospheric perspective--this place was our jam. We each ordered a stout (solid) and grabbed a poké bowl. They have beers to suit any taste from sours and IPAs to stouts, pils, and lagers. We love the stouts, so stuck with those. I noticed on their website that they're actually in the middle of moving (this was before the #saferathome order). Looks like their new location will be in Walker's Point, which I think would suit them. Their vibe seemed a bit more Walker's Point than Third Ward. I also read on their site that they'll be starting to-go beers out of their new location on Pittsburgh Ave in Walker's Point, beginning April 1 (and then of course, will be serving in-house once it's safe to do so). read more

For a brewery, I think Broken Bat is pretty great in Milwaukee! I am not really a beer drinker but I think that this brewery has some options with strong ABV that are also tasty! The biggest appeal to this brewery is that you can rent out the wiffle ball field in the back of it and play! This was so nostalgic of childhood memories and just a ton of fun. I believe it is around $170 to rent out the field for an hour. They recommend having about 10 people on each team but you can do more or less and I am sure that it will still be great. I've followed Broken Bat from their tiny beginning location to their new huge location. It's a terrific place, especially right now when we need all the space we can get. The staff is consistently welcoming and friendly. I haven't had a bad experience here. I'm not a milkshake IPA fan but their pineapple one is delicious. It may be the only one I've really liked anywhere. Overall, they have a nice, rounded out selection. I'm sure any beer drinker can find something. A cool brewery to happen upon, for sure, but since it was part of the Maker's Market, we didn't actually sit inside and sipped our beers while perusing the crafts. A great variety of beers on tap, including sours, darks, ales, and Oktoberfests! The baseball decor is a little kitsch but I was with baseball fans and they loved looking at all the posters and pictures. Plus, they have a beer called Can of Corn which is a great reference to Bob Prince. This brewery goes for the more industrial style with a lot of exposed duct work, butcher block top tables, and iron. Still very cool. read more

It's $125/hour to have the back room to yourself and we ended up adding on another hour because we were having so much fun. Broken Bat Brewing Co is now my second home. Its a very big, spacious brewery with great brews , ambience and is very dog friendly. Try their Cracker Jack IPA, its smooth and not too hoppy. Their hard seltzers are good too. Although they don't serve food, ypure allowed to order food and bring it inside the establishment. Rhe walls are filled with baseball themed posters and by the bathroom they have a cool wall of figurines of various baseball players. Stopped in the Broken Bat on Saturday after perusing art for the last Gallery event of 17. This quaint Brewing Company is located in an underground location on Buffalo Street. We loved the space, even though it was small it doesn't feel too small. I had the Chedd beer and while I usually do not like a darker beer, this one tasted really good. Sometimes when you get the dark beers they taste too heavy but this one was filling without making me feel weighed down. I was a little disappointed there aren't any food offerings, but we loved the complimentary nuts. Living in the Third Ward, I could see us coming back to watch some games and have a beer. The only thing I would say needs work is that even though they weren't too busy they didn't greet us when we walked in and while not unfriendly...definitely didn't make us feel too welcome. We hosted our "Welcome Party" here for our wedding weekend and we couldn't have picked a better place. My husband, Mark, and I have been told by so many of our friends and family about how fun everyone had! The wiffle ball field was a fantastic way for our friends and family to let loose, mingle, and enjoy. The space makes for a great layout for people to spread and enjoy each other's company. Each staff member we worked with was absolutely fantastic (nothing but nice, helpful, and incredibly genuine). We stopped in months earlier to check out the space (on our own), and the bartender on duty was beyond kind and helpful in answering our questions. Beyond that introduction, someone helped us with every step and answered every question. Everyone on duty that night was so positive, helpful, and welcoming. Especially as our party did run a bit later. We brought in our own food, and they accommodated this so well (tables, napkins, etc). Drinks were flowing and they made tabbing so easy for us with our large party. Without a doubt, the easiest and most enjoyable large-scale event.
