Ope Brewing is a fun bar to visit if in town! There are plenty of tables both inside and outside, perfect if you looking to host a large group. The bar also has a large parking lot in the back so you don't need to worry about parking in the area. When I went, there were also two food trucks on site which was a fun addition. We were in town for Thanksgiving and needed to get out of the house, so we headed over to Ope! Plenty of parking available in attached lot! They don't serve food but Chucho's Red Taco truck seemed like a permanent food truck serving up Mexican and American classics. The interior of Ope is quite large and was perfect for our family of ten to hang out together. Fun and eclectic decorations fill out the space. Counter service was very fast and friendly! I had the "Can I Pet Your Dog?" which was their Amber ale! Perfect for fall, while being light enough to crush a few! Extra points for coming in a fun glass. I also tasted my partner's "Perfect Screwdriver" which was delicious, and I don't care for IPAs. A lovely orange juice-inspired beer with just a subtle hop kick at the end. Absolutely love this place. Walking in, most of the time they have a live band cranking out great tunes, loud, but not too loud where it hurts your ears or your dogs. Awesome and huge beer selection on tap! This place is massive with an inside bar and outside bar, the outside also has multiple volleyball courts, people were playing bean bags, and i probably missed more. We sat outside the whole time listening to the band, in the sun, with dogs and people that were super friendly everywhere. Everything was clean as could be from the floors to the bathrooms. Ope is one of our go to places because it is so dog friendly. It's especially fun when the patio is open and doors are open to the outside. One downside is that when doors are closed and a band is playing, it can get really loud and difficult to talk to whoever you're with. Otherwise it's such a great place! Tl;dr Give me an awesome place where kids and dogs are welcome and you've got a regular in me! So my husband and I recently had twins and they're a little over a year old. Anything new parents can do to run and eat something great or drink something great outside of a "nap window" is a rare golden moment indeed. Ope Brewing has an amazing space and it's very openly accepting of real babies and fur babies. The place is always hopping and has their own lines of not just beer, but hard seltzers as well. Since it's colder and winter now, I definitely gravitate toward a dessert slow sipping type of beer, like the decadent Brown Chicken Brown Cow. My husband really liked A Stop and A Score which was an oatmeal porter with almond. Some beers are seasonal though, so you might as well check the website before you get sad if they're not still there. Also, all of the beer names are hilarious and always give a great nod to Wisconsin - I mean even the bar name itself is perfect, if you haven't awkwardly ran into a coworker or stranger in a hallway or aisle and haven't given an "OPE" then what are you doing here? They are always running fun specialities, whether that's trivia or special holiday-related events, the stage is always empty when I'm there, but I know they must have some fun shows! Have admired Ope's beer wherever I've had them and loved my visit to their taproom this past summer. It's large, with lots of space, and dog friendly. There happened to be a gaming tournament going on that afternoon and what a great thing to have in the taproom, building community. Kudos to Ope! who recently won many awards for their seltzers. One of my absolute favorite places to go for any occasion. The space is expansive with both a large indoor seating area and outside space. They also have a ton of events happening and have board games, outdoor games, and volleyball nets. Their beer/seltzer/cider selection is robust with a delicious option for everyone. They are also super dog friendly. My sweet 16 year old dog just won their dog of the month contest! They allow outside food and have food trucks available outside for food purchase. Probably the largest brewery we have in greater milwaukee, it's like a giant warehouse inside with an equally big gravel parking lot. They are that old but already have a large following. It's located right across the West Living apartments where I've been so many times to visit friends. Large selection of brews and their Ope! brewery ones are great, especially the sours! Dog friendly, outside food friendly (they have Chucho's taco truck there quite often). Great for hanging out, dates, events. I hosted a fundraiser there with them and their communication was prompt and easy to plan with. There's a ton of seating and games available and like most breweries they have trivia nights during the week along with other weekly events. This brewery is massive and has a food truck parked outside. You can conveniently order food from a QR code and then you get a text from the truck letting you know your food is ready. Getting a beer is efficient. You can order from either end of the bar. There are lots of great beers to pick from but I think their sours are amazing. Ope! does a lot of fun events. I have stopped in for their winter holiday market and most recent Galentine's Day. This brewery is also dog friendly so it's fun to see all the cute doggos there. The parking lot is pretty big. If the place is full, you'll park on the unpaved portion so just use caution when walking at night because it gets pretty dark out there and the ground is uneven. read more

There's literally nothing about this place we haven't loved. Their beer selection is on point even for this non beer drinking girl with lots of fruity and sour options with very little to no beer taste. You can bring YOUR dog here, OR come and get your doggo fix by visiting other people's pups (always ask first before approaching of course). And depending on the time of day and events going on you can stop in for a quote drink and mellow vibe or for a fun night out with a rowdier feel. I visited this new brewery last weekend for the first time. I enjoyed the flight of beers I ordered, especially the "I'll Take 4 Boxes" Pastry Stout collaboration with Eagle Park Brewing, based on the Samoa Girl Scout Cookie, and the Peach Passionfruit Hard Seltzer that I could sit on a patio with and drink all day. The space is beautiful, and looks unlike any other brewery tap room in town. It reminded me of something I've seen at breweries out of state (see my photos). The space is set up for multiple large groups to meet or for individuals, couples, and small groups. On my visit, I saw families with children, and dogs, and friends gathering, even playing giant Jenga. It was a great atmosphere, overall, with lots of energy and happy faces. They usually have rotating food trucks parked outside, and you can bring food in or have it delivered there. I'm glad this is close to my house. I expect to he a regular! read more

Few things...we've taken to calling this place Ope Cheese due to the number of kids playing, laying on the floor and unattended. Not to mention the case of pink eye I'm pretty certain I got after being here (I was no where else the entire week but home) It's a shame the place is run amuck with kids and dogs because the drinks are good. The workers are phenomenal, and also know how to point you in the right direction of what you want. They have live music every weekend seems like, and we can't get enough of it! Ope! You haven't tried this brewery yet? What're you waiting for?! This place is a big open space with different seating areas from the bar, high top tables, couches, etc. The lighting is so unique and it's a great place to come with one other person, or hang out with a large group (I've done both on multiple occasions). Okay, enough about the venue, let's talk about the drinks. I've probably tried every sour and seltzer there is and haven't been disappointed once. You'll have a hard time picking which one to order because all of the names will make you giggle. I suggest getting a flight like a did the last time I was there because you'll definitely want to try multiple. They have the Chucho's Red Tacos truck everyday to make sure you have some substance and can consume more beer! (And if you haven't tried Chucho's yet, you're doing it wrong). Aside from that, you'll be able to catch a comedy show, enjoy different bands, and can participate in things like volleyball or disc golf. The best part though, DOG FRIENDLY!!!! 4.5 stars for the beer and 2.5 stars for some of the staff. This is not like me to complain about a brewery- I love small breweries, and I love local businesses, especially. The last two (maybe three) times we visited Ope, customer service in general has been lacking. This most recent visit on 7/8/23, we were greeted at the bar with not a "hello", but from our first server, he almost looked straight through our faces, and didn't say a word, almost as if he wasn't even "there".. didn't say a word, didn't acknowledge we were in front of him until I said "Hello" and then he said "What can I get ya.." Like, the most disinterested greeting one can offer. The second server, a woman at the rear register near the back garage door, walked up to me, and again, this time, just stared at me. No greeting. And when she took my money and gave me the beers, did not utter a word, or if she did, it was so quiet and short that I missed it. She Just set them in front of me and looked at me. I said "Thanks", and after the thanks, I still got nothing from her. I don't know if the owner is telling the staff to act aloof or if they're just miserable there, but there are way too many great breweries in the Milwaukee area, and your manager should be making sure you know the importance of taprooms being warm and inviting places. You cannot survive on your beer alone, and your staff were certainly NOT too busy to add a tiny bit of common customer service courtesy to the transaction. I also can't speak about this other incident, but I was told by someone that he went there one day, saw a person's dog pee on the carpet, and reported the urination to the bar. The bartender said "Oh I don't deal with that", and left the mess on the rug. Come on, if you're so proud of your dog friendliness, be ready for the challenges that come with it. Nobody wants to walk on pee stained rugs, and this is coming from a huge dog lover. I was bizarre. I'll be back because I like the beer, but the staff need to treat their customers a lot better. read more
