We ordered a fish fry and a Roost of the forgotten one turkey sandwich. It seemed to take a bit for the food even though it wasn't busy. Both items were just ok. The pieces of the fish were pretty small and not very flavorful. The coleslaw was mediocre and the bread wasn't the freshest. Maybe I would go back to try something else. It's a really nice, fun and nerdy atmosphere just like the former 42 Ale House whose place it took. I almost hate leaving a mixed review. It's a big place and was very crowded, but you can sit anywhere. You either order at the bar or from the QR code on the table. I ordered from the bar. I'd rather have table service from a server. Well, they lost our drink orders, but that was quickly rectified. The food took a really long time to get ready. I thought they lost that order, too. I had the fish fry. It consisted of two pieces of cod, very lightly breaded. They were pretty tasty. The potato pancakes were so crispy and had a nice onion flavor. Very good! The tartar sauce was not tartar sauce at all, more like a creamy herb dressing, but not bad. The Cole slaw was inedible. A half slice of rye, pat of butter and lemon wedge completed the meal. My Reuben was extremely meaty and delicious - I ordered it with a side of tots which made it even better. I've been to Faklandia once before for their fish fry and apparently forgot to leave a review. No worries, cause it was good enough to come back for and gives me another chance to review it. My to go order consisted of the large fish fry and mozzarella sticks. Italian breaded mozzarella sticks are very good. So are wonton mozzarella sticks. Combined, those two types form the greatest mozzarella sticks known to mankind. The Italian breaded wonton mozzarella sticks at Faklandia are heavenly and a major reason why I will go out of my way to eat there whenever possible. The beer battered cod has an excellent ratio of batter to cod, but a little more beer in the batter would be nice. Since a large order contains three pieces, I assume a small order contains two, but why mess with only a two piece when three is an option. I don't mind getting cod if I have to, but I wish they had other choices like perch or bluegill. The potato pancakes are the other reason that I hold Faklandia's fish fry in high regard. These are the crispiest pancakes I've ever had and they have an amazing balance between potato, onion, and pepper. I LOVE these potato pancakes and wish I could have them more often. read more

Cool place! Came here quite a few times when it was 42 Ale House, disappointed to see that place go but seems like the new owner is keeping it going in the same direction which is awesome. Bartender was super nice and knowledgeable, he was able to answer any questions we had. It's nice that they have the small 4oz. pours to try different beers, pretty sure we tried most. Never again, this place is awful. They do not take reservations, even for trivia. I or another person from my team routinely arrived an hour or more early and all large tables would already be taken. The staff wouldn't put two small tables together for us, even if they were to seat all our members at both tables. So why not just push them together?? The food service is awful, and even got worse with the new online ordering application. Trying to get drink refills us so awkward and food orders got all jumbled up or completely lost. Even before the online order system it was difficult to flag someone down because the servers don't frequent the back gaming room. On the topic of food, it's not the worst but it's also not great. The menu is small and almost everything is so greasy or simply deep fried. My last visit I got very sick from eating a burger here. Almost immediately. I don't know what caused the food poisoning-the veggies or the burger itself. I wasn't the only one who felt ill after dinner so it wasn't an isolated case. There is so much that needs to be improved here and I don't think that it's going to happen quickly. Be mindful of what you order, double check your receipts and good luck getting a table. read more

Met some friends at the bar. Bartender was so pleasant and helpful in finding the perfect beer for me. My husband has a harder time for a beer to his liking as he is an IPA man. We went to a table to order dinner. The large patio looked very inviting but we opted for inside since it was pretty warm out. Faklandia was an experience yesterday I enjoyed the experience a lot! I did enjoy the live music just felt off for it being a magical brew restaurant, the people I met made it a 5/5 experience but just going off the service and food I received I gave it a 3/5. I tried the double hopped IPA which wasn't hoppy at all. The pineapple ale had just a little too much pineapple juice. We had a Long Island iced tea with a lot of blue curaçao very strong and tasty and the citrus cosmo orange citrus was nice also a little too much pineapple juice. All the drinks were above average but for a magical brewing company taking fantasy drinks nothing wow'd me As for food it was ok the pizza was very seasoned the pizza sauce was good but the seasoning on the cheese was a little too much for me. And the tacos were good they were just missing hot salsa and the sour cream on the side made it harder to eat putting the sour cream on top of the lettuce. As for everything else other than the tacos all tasted the same the seasoning which I'm guessing is salt, mustard seed, lemon pepper with garlic powder was on everything it was on the pizza, fries, tater tots, chicken I got sick of that taste quickly The only other weird thing was the bill was per table so everyone ordering at my table went on to my tab so everyone had to venmo me which was a hassle but the table and atmosphere was very nice. read more

My husband and I came here on a yelp elite night to watch the band, eat pizza, and drink their tap beer. Included in their complementary bar was a cream ale and IPA. Both were very good. For food, we were able to grab some tater tots, breakfast pizza, and pepperoni pizza. The tater tots were perfectly crisp! The breakfast pizza had maybe a wheat crust? I'm not sure but whatever it was, it was so good. Chewy but not floppy! The pepperoni pizza was also a step above your normal bar pizza. The atmosphere was so neat. The patio is open with not a ton of seating, but enough for a 100 person yelp event. My husband and I got there towards the end and were still able to find a comfortable place to stand. The interior has a gamer/cozy vibe. They also have a side room you can rent for private parties. My husband and I decided to sit at the bar for a bit to explore their menu. I ordered the blueberry IPA, which is award-winning and went down very smoothly. My husband got their butter beer, which would make Aron Weasley proud. The bartender was engaged and super friendly. Replacing a very dear place to my heart, Faklandia is a welcome addition to this neighborhood. The place was previously occupied by The 42 Ale House that closed early 2020. The place exhibits the same spirit. Young, established, nerdy, and good bar food. This place really means business! I saw them evolve and build their business really quickly during COVID-19 and it made me happy. There's a story behind this place. A story that makes you want to be part of its success. The building is great. Big. Outdoor seatings. Spacious. Nice big bar. Atmosphere here is very lovely. As I said, it shares some DNA with the previous business. The owners are young and active and work on the floor. They're very involved. They have karaoke nights, Trivia nights and a whole new section dedicated to gaming. This is great! I tried their Faklandia Supreme Pizza. Beyond good. Very good for a bar. I am excited to try more things. I also liked their Burgers. Their menu keeps expanding. I will be coming back to this place. This is Dominic the food reviewer and Friday I had dinner at Faklandia Brewing. It is located at 3807 S. Packard Avenue, Saint Francis, WI 53235. They're open Thursday-Saturday 12pm to 8pm and Sunday 11am to 7pm. The brewery opened in March 2020. During that time,they only had beer and food to-go. Over the summer they slowly opened up the patio to customers, and now the dining room is open for in-person dining or you can get food to go. The owners Nathaniel Fakler and Ben Mantay wanted to open up a restaurant and brewery for over 10 years. They chose the city of Saint Francis because they liked the city and the people are friendly there. They came up with the name Faklandia from Nathaniel's last name and the nickname of his basement/man cave, Faklandia. It's a place to get away from any stress the you have in life. Nathaniel learned how to make beer in the Barley to Barrel program for home brewers. The brewery has many popular beers. Ben said some of their most popular beers are the Salamandra and Liz Wiz. My mom tried the Thuja which is a pineapple pale ale. She loved the fruity flavor. The restaurant has a large patio for customers to sit outside in the warmer weather. Inside there's a big bar, booths, and tables. Also, there's a big game room where anyone can come and place board games. For dinner I had Thuja Hawaiian pizza. It had pineapple, Canadian bacon, and pepperoni on it. Their pizza is made in a wood fire oven. I thought it was magnificent and outstanding. It was so good that I ate my whole pizza. My mom and grandma got the fish fry dinners. The dinner comes with either 2 or 3 pieces of beer-battered cod. It also comes with rye bread, coleslaw, and a choice of potato. They have fries, tater tots, or potato pancakes with apple sauce. My mom loved her dinner. She got it with the tater tots and she said they were delicious. My grandma got her dinner with the potato pancakes and she said loved them. They both really like the coleslaw too. The restaurant also serves burgers and they have a Sunday brunch too. They will also be adding ramen to their menu very soon. Our waitress Kate was awesome and friendly. I also met with owners Ben and Nathaniel and they were really nice too. I've now gotten pizza from here 4 times in it's short life, and I think each time it has gotten better. The last visit, I had the opportunity to sit and chat with the owners for a bit. They say the pizza was not part of the plan and the best is yet to come. Part of the plan or not, the hand tossed - wood fired pizza is good! I've fallen in love with the supreme pizza - pepperoni, sausage, red pepper, red onion, and black olives. It has been perfectly cooked each time. Also tried the mozzarella sticks once. There was a limited menu today so I'm wondering if they didn't use the usual wood fire pizza oven. The dough tasted like par-bake that wasn't baked enough - thick and doughy with no crisp. Faklandia opened a few months before the lockdown. We wanted to try it but didn't get a chance. We more or less forgot about it. Last Sat. we attempted to go to the South Shore Beer garden, but not only no parking, no tables were out. On the way back we were thinking of somewhere to go for a beer and happened to drive by Faklandia. Quick turn around, stopped in and saw they also had food. One of the staff asked if we wanted a seat, we said we'll have to come back as we didn't know they had food. We came back a few hours later. Ordered beer and a pizza, and sat outside. It was a beautiful day, low 80s. The patio is a little worn but inviting and comfortable. It's mostly covered by a large pergola. So how was the beer and food? The pizza was great. Only one topping but great flavor and excellent crust. The beer was also great... My wife had Vash Vanilla Cream Ale which she loved, I tasted it and it was really good. I had Nox Atra, not too heavy and a really nice flavor. And service was great. I can't recall our server's name but he was friendly and attentive. Faklandia is close the Oak Leaf Trail so it's going to be a regular destination this summer. read more

I like this place better when it had more arcades and was an arcade bar the overall presumptuous attitude of this place is not very good and they have a tech nerd gaming of teenagers right next to the bar which doesn't make sense the bartender totally ignored me for 10 minutes and I had to get his attention and the various beers I tried were very flat and not tasty at all overall this is a spacious building and there is no other bars around the area so this likely is sometimes a must go for some people read more
