I've been to In Plane View a few times over the past year and a half with my favorite thing to get being the grilled cheeseburger (grilled cheese sandwiches for the top and bottom buns with a 1/2 pound burger patty and bacon between them). As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the best burgers I've had in the Milwaukee area. My family came with me on my most recent visit and liked the cheeseburgers they got too. My parents were on their way out of town and they asked me to find someplace close to the airport so we could just eat and get to the airport in time. In Plane View had good reviews here on Yelp, so that is where we went. The menu is not overwhelming, and Kim the bartender was super friendly and helpful. My mom got the Reuben and my dad and son got cheeseburgers. I decided to go a little off the beaten path and I got the Reuben rolls. Oh my goodness! They had the texture of regular eggrolls with the deliciousness of a Reuben inside. They were amazing and I would definitely recommend them and have them again. In Plane View definitely gives you the opportunity to watch the planes as the front faces the airport. There were lots of screens with sports and it had a usual lounge-y feel. read more

This place is awesome! I did not expect to be blown away by a casual grill/bar next to the airport. You do get a nice view of Mitchell Airport, hence the name. We went on a Friday night. They were packed, but the service was still very good. Our server was polite and attentive despite it being busy. The fish fry is definitely in my top five in the city. Nice, light, beer-battered cod. The burger was my favorite, though. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in a long time and very affordable! The buns are toasted perfectly and the burger is charred just enough to be flavorful but not burnt. I am so happy to have found this place and look forward to coming back soon. First off Skyler did an absolutely fantastic job at being the face for the business, she does her job very well and the passion shows. I was off today while everyone was working so I took my self out for a beer and burger bar lunch like I like to do. This place is the old Brass Monkey with I think new owners but same staff and a new menu with new beers. It's right across from the airport with a patio view of the airport. The place is a nice looking bar/restaurant with bar seting, tables and a few booths. I ordered the krombacker pilsner which was server in a frosted glass which I appreciate that I was told is from Germany which was good. The menu isn't bad and just right for a bar with apps, salads, pizza, wings, sandwiches, wraps and burgers with a Friday fish fry menu. I was told that I can get a rare burger so I ordered the B52 bomber which is a 1/2 pound patty with blue cheese and bacon and I added raw onion. My B52 was cooked perfect and tasty on a fresh bun. The patty was juicy and it had a nice grill flavor with plenty of bacon but the blue cheese flavor was lost a bit because it needed more to stand up to the bacon and beef. The frys were hot and cooked to order and seasoned nicely. You get a meal and drink card and after so many you get free food and drink which is cool if your a regular. Overall it was a great lunch with good beer and a good burger with great friendly service so I would definitely go back for more of the menu. read more

I had someone recently suggest I check out In Plane View over by General Mitchell International Airport. They didn't have a ton of options for vegetarians, but that's probably not their target audience. It looks like they put an emphasis on the local bar feel and the dining after that (but for those that aren't vegetarian - there are a lot of options for you to pick from!). I think the big appeal is their outdoor seating that puts you ...In Plane View - as their name suggests. On my way out I saw a plane taking off. We are from out of town and came here as a recommendation from a lady we met. The bar tender was amazing! He recommended a beer to my husband (The Spotted Cow) and it has now become his favorite beer and he is so sad it is only sold in Wisconsin. The food was DELICIOUS! My husband and I recently stopped in for a couple appetizers and drinks. The vibe was friendly and there were a few families along with Bucks fans waiting for the game to start. There was a back area hosting a family birthday party--just a great mix of people. Our waitress was attentive and suggested I try the new Corona NA they just got in when I asked about their non-alcoholic beer choices. It was a great alternative to a real Corona and only had 60 calories, which was appreciated alongside the delicious Reuben rolls and generous nacho plate we consumed. In Plane View is right across from the airport. Their fish fry easily makes it into my top ten with some pros and cons. First of all, the fish - they give you three HUGE pieces of beer battered cod - lots of food for your $15. They serve it very quickly. The words were barely out of my mouth when she brought the platter. It comes to you searing hot. The fish is crunchy and delectable on the outside, flaky and moist on the inside. Perfect. AND they have malt vinegar condiment-wise. You can't find that everywhere, I have only seen it at Cliffords. You can't tell from this picture, but that's a true marble rye for the bread and it doesn't come pre-buttered. They don't have potato pancakes, which I love...but would rather have them not serve them at all than screw them up. They serve it with fries and the fries are really good. And the cole slaw? I know a lot of people toss the cole slaw and I like it, but probably wouldn't enter a burning skyscraper to get some. Ok, maybe I would....but this cole slaw? All bets are off, or maybe I was really hungry. It was fresh, creamy and slightly sweet. This was the best I've had in a while. The TLDR Conclusion ? Pros - generous portions of perfectly battered fish, malt vinegar available, super good cole slaw. Cons - no potato pancakes, no variety - cod is what you get read more

I wanted a Cajun chicken breast but they didn't have Cajun seasoning so I had a plain grilled chicken breast it was large fit the nice soft bun... I was pleasantly surprised! We went to In Plane View for the Friday fish fry during the harley event. Up to this point in the year we had been to the Friday fish fry at least 14 time this year. At this point you would have the feeling the employee's would know us. We sat at the bar and ordered are food and eat it. Food was good, service was fair, friendliness was a failure. Heard about this place from my nephew and his family who relocated from Myrtle Beach SC. His wife is not familiar with the Friday fish Fry tradition, as my nephew who is a WI native. I joined them last Friday and concur fantastic choices and delicious The hand breaded selection chosen others looked great. Large generous portions of fish, choice of chips or fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce and marble rye. I chose the baked with seasoned vegetables, rye bread and chose chips. I took homemade chips home and the waitress said they keep well. I wish I had gotten her name, she was right. Plus my nephew's wife had her make us an amazing cocktail service was stellar even though there was a steady crowd at the bar and dining area. Didn't even know that they existed. Tomorrow is actually their 1 year anniversary. I'm bummed I didn't know about this gem for 1 year. Waitress was very friendly and incredibly fast service. I went for the fish fry w 2 other guys. 2 of us got the beer battered and the other hand breaded. The beer battered was so flaky, hot, juicy and delicious. Fries were outstanding and the coleslaw was great too. It had a little bit of onion in it and that boosted the flavor. Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night with my wife and daughter. Excellent wings and a really phenomenal Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The fries were great as well, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. We also got a pepperoni pizza which sadly was nothing special. Quick friendly service, very clean. I like this place. I mostly deal with the bartenders, they are friendly and attentive. I found out they also make great clam chowder.
