I have gone several times and always received great service. The servers are attentive and check on you frequently. That is super rare lately. They have an extremely talented piano player on some nights. The fish fry is one of the better ones in the area. They also have a delicious fried shrimp entree. The clam chowder is full of flavor. If you want chicken, the tenders are delicious, They just started serving nachos. You receive a huge serving so be ready to have a big job ahead of you. All of the employees are very welcoming. If you are a beer drinker, they have quite a variety to choose from.

St. Francis Brewery was a standard family favorite before they closed, I figured my review would still be here to update but here is my review after our second visit since re-opening! Food: Excellent! My beer can chicken dinner and the grilled salmon with smashed garlic potatoes and green beans both excellent! Beer: Very good! The Kolsch, effervescent, bright and crisp. The Single Origin Guatemalen Coffee Beer very good. Growlers to go are a nice touch, and they said there's a discount when you refill. Service: Excellent! Word to the wise, the south suburbs dine really early. Make a reservation if you would like 5pm seating during Lent. On both of our visits the manager came by to see how everything was, and our servers were always excellent, meaning good new company culture! We hope to get back here soon to try the cod fish fry and more craft beers!

WOW! Go here now. This place absolutely will knock your socks off. I am so glad to have kind of accidentally stumbled on it. The vibes, the wait staff and the food 10/10. The pic I have is the hot honey chicken Sammy with pimento cheese. It's outstanding. Love love love

St. Francis Brewery is a very large brewery restaurant, with a large bar and several seating areas. We were immediately greeted and seated. We opted for a hgh top table near the bar . Service was very attentive , nice and ensured our needs were met. My husband tried a few of their beers, the Permit Pending and Lofi Life. He liked them so much he was disappointed they did not have cans to go. We started with complimentary barrel poppers, pretzel bites with a beer cheese. They were soft and not salty. We also had cheese curds- the portion was large and the batter was light. I had the Hot Honey Chicken Sammy, rich in flavor, not too spicy and the chicken breast was so moist. My husband had the South Milwaukee Burger- a double smash burgers. The food was very good, the portions were enormous and service was excellent.

Great service and environment! We went on a Friday around 6 PM and they even had live music. The live music was more acoustic vibes which we loved. There was immediate seating at the bar. We are always impressed by their food. The fish fry was delicious! Well seasoned and well cooked fish and french fries. Really couldn't ask for more for a Wisconsin fish fry. My husband had the burger. I can't recall the name, but I believe there were also onion rings on top of the burger. Large meal, burger was cooked well. Onion rings were a bit greasy (we had leftovers to take home and we warmed them up in the oven and they were sitting on a pool of oil). Love it here and we will be back!

I recently saw that St Francis Brewery had reopened and decided to check it out for our ladies night dinner. The restaurant itself is very pretty, lots of space. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. Started with a few drinks; my friend got a peach martini and said it was amazing. I had the apple sangria which was so good. We had the stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta for appetizers. Both were fresh and generous portions. All three of us ended up ordering the prime rib sandwich for dinner and it was a big hit. The meat was so well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was really delish. Overall great experience and we will be back.

We had an amazing dinner here tonight. We started out with stuffed mushroom caps. I then enjoyed salmon over red mashed potatoes with a side of green beans. My sister decided to go with a large salad with goat cheese, beets. The service was really good. Our waiter was very attentive and the ambience was very nice.

My fiancée and I tried this the other night since they have recently opened back up. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, she ordered the braised beef and I ordered the beer can chicken. The server welcomed us by bringing out pretzel bites and cheese sauce. We asked if there were jalapeños but she said she didn't know. We asked because I'm deathly allergic to them. Well, we decided I could eat a plain one and Alyssa could have the cheese sauce with hers. The server seemed new to working in a restaurant and not very comfortable. The mushrooms and entrees came out at the same time--not the worst thing in the world. They were actually very good and packed a lot of flavor and sausage in them. The braised beef was excellent! My fiancée did not leave any of it to waste. The beef was tender, the mashed potatoes were cooked well but the asparagus was hit or miss depending on which bite you take. Some were more al dente than others. I had the beet can chicken--let's just say it was an experience. Not because the food but the way it was handled. When they brought it out originally (with other dishes), a woman (manager I'm guessing) took it immediately back and the server looked confused. The woman brought it back and said, you can eat this one but I don't like the presentation of it so we are making another one pretty for you to have. So, I ate the first one--sooooo good by the way! Only a slight bit of dryness but everything was great! I also had the same experience with the asparagus though. I made it about halfway through my meal and then a guy brought out the beautiful dish--it was glorious, and asked for the other meal back. Now, I haven't worked in many restaurants but I found this strange. Normally, places would comp the meal entirely or just switch the entire meal. So, while we were utterly confused, we appreciated the manager taking the time to fix the dish (though I would've eaten it and been fine lol). A nice bit was I was only charged $17 for it instead of the normal $25. The downside--the are waiting on their beer license so they still don't have their own beer. It's not the end of the world but after wondering why, it also looked like they didn't put up hardly any decor yet either. It seemed a little expensive for a brewery that didn't have their own beer to purchase. I mean, I lived by Napa and the price for food could compete with them. I'm not sure if I'll go back until they seem to settle a bit and have beer.

FABULOUS...ATMOSPHERE: 10 out of 10. I love how they decorated it and it's such a nice, warm, welcoming place. The piano player is a nice touch. I had to compliment and thank him for playing an entire set of Stevie Wonder. SERVICE: Top notch. Again 10/10. FOOD: Excellent. The fried dough balls they brought to the table with the buttery, cheesy sauce were delightful. I had the perch fish fry. The batter was crunchy and it tasted like perch should taste, not flavorless like cod or too fishy. I love how they toasted and buttered the rye bread! The potato pancakes were on point. The only reason I would give it 9/10 is the Cole slaw was really bland, but who cares about the Cole slaw? All around terrific experience.

We visited twice in a week! Good atmosphere with even better food. The service was quick & the waiter was knowledgeable. We loved the beer can chicken - so juicy. The pork chops were the thickest I've ever seen. Of course tried their beer as well and I was a big fan of the rizzzberries

St. Francis Brewery and Restaurant is a great addition to the neighborhood. We visited on opening day and it was packed! The space is very nice, and they had live music. The service was extremely friendly. There is definitely more of a restaurant feel vs. brewery. We didn't order food but everything we saw looked great, and the menu is extensive with something for everyone. We stopped by to check out their beers - unfortunately due to licensing they aren't able to sell their own beers yet. They did have some local options on tap so we chose one of those instead. Looking forward to returning and trying some of their beer!

We dropped in for their Oktoberfest party and since there was no seating available outside, we sat inside. We were seated and then no server came to take our order for at least 15 minutes. We had to ask staff to find our waiter. It wasn't a great start, but things got better and they obviously had a lot going on that day. I got the cheese curd platter and a sangria bucket. It was good, but the hot honey jalapeño curds didn't really have any cheese in them. The other two types of curds were good, though. It mostly feels like a restaurant that happens to be a brewery too than the other way around. Not a bad thing, just notable. The crowd was full of people from all age ranges and it seemed very family friendly. The rest of their food and beer menu looks really promising and I will definitely be back to try.

Arrived and we were greeted with an enthusiastic welcome from front desk! Wow! We just don't expect this warm welcome anymore so took us by surprise - in a good way! We were immediately seated in a nice and clean booth. Water was brought to table. We also got some nice- free- and delicious soft pretzel bites with cheese dip. Again, we just don't get free anything anymore, so this was a very welcome treat! Great, super friendly server. Beers were tasty . Wish they had some to take home, but alas not yet. Dinners and apps were all tasty and delivered quickly. Food is fresh and fries were amazing - crisp, light and tasty! There was a bit of a wait to get our Togo boxes and cash out, but overall a wonderful experience! Highly recommend checking this place out!

There was a polka band and they guys walked around singing to all the tables before their set started. Super cool. They have a small kitchen. I was disappointed to learn that they don't make their special flavored cheese curds on Fridays, but the regular ones were just fine and enough for our table to share. There's a little deck in the back that overlooks the Milwaukee River that we were able to enjoy on a beautiful, unseasonably warm day. Overall a nice time here. One kind of weird thing that happened here, which I only mention because it didn't seem like our tour guide was able to handle it in the moment, and they definitely need a system in place to handle guests that are making the rest of the group uncomfortable. There was a guy who kept turning around and staring at people, fidgeting in a way that I recognized as agitation, and kind of pacing. All the parents who had kids in the group realized there was a problem and even though we didn't know each other, kind of formed a line in front of the kids. I'm sure it was a one-off, but there has to be a way to deal with guests like that. Also a little weird that kids over the age of 12 have to pay for the tour, but each of their soda drinks took two tokens, while the adults only used one for beers.
