I've been here in both summer and winter now, and it is much much slower in winter. They did have the entire interior decked out with holiday decorations which was awesome. The beer is always good, service is always polite, but they were out of their pre-mix cocktails which prevented half of our party from being able to drink so we had to leave after one beer. I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Component Brewing. It was one of the first breweries I visited when I moved to Milwaukee. It was in an entirely different location then, so this was my first visit to the new taproom. Such a comfortable and fun spot! They have so many different events, including an ASL Guided Brewery Tour (which is quite unique) and a monthly book club. I originally stopped by to drop off books for their used book sale, but I stayed for two beers. Very friendly staff and appear to be highly engaged with their community. There was a nice variety of styles on their beer menu. I tried a pilsner (I believe?) and an Oktoberfest (because it was the season). Both very tasty! I enjoy the atmosphere of this brewery and the type of community they seem to be building. read more

Nice brewery with a good amount of seating both inside, and on the patio now that they moved to the ground floor of the building. They have a good selection of beers on tap and I was delighted to try their Dill on the Hill beer brewed with pickle brine - it's not for everyone, but I love pickles, so it hit the spot. They are in a large industrial warehouse building which has a lot of other businesses in it, including another brewery & a distillery, so you could spend an afternoon or evening here going to different spots. read more

Rad space - inside & put! Serving up great brews too ;) The location of this brewery is very unique. It's located in a former - maybe partially still operational warehouse in the corridor between Walker's Point and Bay View. It's next to a co-op brewery and a distillery. Both a 30 second walk from Component, so you're in solid company on this corner. While food beyond $20 Charcuterie and maybe some light snacks is not available at the brewery, be sure to scan their insta before heading over. If you can sync up with when a food truck plans to stop, all the better! We arrived right after the Tots truck closed up for the day. Inside is a nice open space with the brewery equipment on full display. I loved the delicate, feminine decor touches such as the crystal chandelier, hanging plants and neon sign that reads, "Prost". It's a unique, modern vibe that's for sure. Plenty of bar space and outdoor seating. Big TVs inside, we went to catch a Bucks game and we're shocked we were able to snag bar seats for a front row seat. Now...the beer. It's solid. And beer is not my first drink of choice. You can also grab cans to go - a cab runs ya about $6 each and come in 4 packs. The blueberry and lemon sour is divine. You can sample whatever's on tap before ordering. I tried all four sours and had a full glass of two flavors. Perfection as far as a sour goes. Lots of IPAs on the the menu and everything has a fun name; most with a MIlwaukee twist. Definitely a place I would take friends when they are visiting from out of town! Service was good seemed like a lot of regulars hang here based on the casual and friendly greetings tossed around when people would come and go. The only downside if I had to point out something would be the location of the bathroom. Ooompf. It's a ways away but it's cool to be able to scope out the interior spaces and see what other offices set up shop in the bldg! read more

We're literally neighbors too this spot and haven't taken the leap to try until they recently opened their new beautiful location in the same building (which has more than the other breweries/kombucha/cider shops). This building is Stonegate of a distillers incubator. Component is beautiful inside, dog friendly, has a great patio and open floor plan. We've had flights and full pours of IPAs, sours, tarts and stouts. So far all so not disappoint. We will spend so much more time there throughout the the summer given the quick bike ride over. Check it out and do hit up twisted path and beer barons while there! read more

How has this spot existed since mid-2018 and I am literally just discovering it?! I've come to Twisted Path and the next door (rotating) breweries for years and never noticed this. I happened to see a sandwich board yesterday and the bartender at Twisted Path pointed out where it was hiding. Up a few stairs, around a corner beyond several storage lockers is a brewery tucked away for those that are truly in the know. To my surprise the room was packed without a seat to be found. Even better is it's companion-friendly, I think I spotted at least 3 dogs just laying around looking to be pet. Our group ordered several beers to try and we loaded up on some free popcorn while playing round after round of tic-tac-toe. I really need to go back to this spot - I wish it wasn't so hidden! Maybe one day soon they will outgrow their space and move to a more visible location. read more

Component has been a consistent favorite of mine! They have amazing range of beer selections from sour ales to unique IPAs. I love that they are dog friendly also. Definitely a most-visit for beer lovers! The brewery is also on the Reel Craft Beer Pass also which is a plus. read more

I visited Component Brewing Company on 5/29/22. I visit craft breweries as a hobby. Before the next brewery opens, this was the last brewery on my list for Milwaukee. The brewery was closed for a period last year when I was in the area, so I was glad to return when re-opened. First, it's a nice space with good seating. They share the larger building with one other small brewery and another planned to open. I ordered a flight and found that two options on their tap list were either out or only in cans. My friendly server offered alternatives and I ended up picking 5 samples to try. All, including two sours were solid in taste profile and mouth feel. They don't fill growlers but have all their beers available in cans. I liked their Hefeweizen & left with a 4 pack. Their Wi-Fi connection was solid and with the location you have access to several free options. I really appreciated my server and his conversation about beer and regional breweries. I would recommend a visit on any crawl or to give them regular patronage. read more

Cool atmosphere. Its upstairs down a long hallway - a little confusing, but neat. I wasn't a fan of the beer. I tried a few samples and finally settled on a Stout (not the imperial stout). It was just okay and I didn't even finish it. They have a lot of sours and hazy IPAs, of which I am not a fan. read more

The wife and I wanted to try this place for awhile, finally had the chance tonight. I've been to a lot of new craft breweries and I'll tell you this place nails it on beer quality. From the IPA to the Gose we were extremely impressed. Each beer had unique qualities that made it standout from others in the field. The Rose Sour Ale has just the right amount of fruit while the Brown Ale had well balanced coffee flavors. Don't pass this place up. Other breweries may have flashy decor and big patios but Component excels at what it's supposed to - Beer! read more

I attended a Yelp event for this business otherwise I wouldn't even have known it existed! If you are looking for something different, look no further. This brewery bar is located near another brewery and a distillery so it's super easy to extend the experience and try out this brewery. First you have to ring the buzzer, then follow the hops stencils on the ground up to the second floor, through a door, around the corner, and down the hall. It's reminiscent of a hidden speakeasy but even more casual and fun! Highly recommend to check it out :) read more

What a fantastic hole-in-the-wall brewery! And I mean that in the best way possible! The location is a bit unusual for a brewery but I think that adds to the charm. I tried a sample pour of all eight of their beers - all very drinkable! My top three were The sour ale, the IPA, and the double IPA (which packs a punch at 9.8%abv). The smell of popcorn will lure you in and the abundance of boardgames and the delicious beer could probably occupy you for hours. The building also has another brewery, a distillery, a chocolate shop and more so you can check out a few other area businesses while you're there! (It is directly across the street from where they're building the mixed-use complex where Horny Goat used to be.) Check them out! They have limited hours currently, but judging from the quality of beer, I can only expect to see them grow. read more

The entrance is super creepy so totally fit my style. The atmosphere was good and had the Speakeasy feel the owners were going for. There is nothing for non-beer drinkers so keep that in mind. Small breweries like this one are all over Milwaukee and other than the creepy entrance, I'm not sure the beers will impress enough to make Component Brewing stand out. read more

Between the games, popcorn, tightly-knit, cozy feel, this place definitely gets points. For flavor, the beer I've had here (Bay View Breakfast) and the one my girlfriend had (a sour) definitely get high marks. The missing star is for selection, which was limited when I went and consisted almost entirely of IPAs with a sour and a brown thrown in. I'd be interested in going back again now that it's stout season, and anticipate I'd enjoy myself even more. read more

The beer here is good, as is the location. Unfortunately we won't be returning due to the extremely rude demeanor of one of the owners. Rather than the owner simply explaining that we could not use our additional pub pass, he became very aggressive and confrontational. Beware when patronizing this establishment. As for us, we will never return. Good craft beer is not that hard to find in a Milwaukee--we will go elsewhere. read more
