It was a random Saturday afternoon in Chicago. My S.O. and I had just shot some pool and bowled a few games, and it was still early enough that we wanted to keep the day going. He blurted out, "You wanna go to Milwaukee?" "Sure. Let's do it," I said. So we swung by his place for a change of clothes, then mine for the same, and hit the road. We didn't know where we were going, where we'd stay, or what we'd eat -- but that was part of the adventure. Once we got into the city, we drove around for a bit, then pulled into a Pick n' Save parking lot to look up things to do and even what restaurants were nearby. Turned out a little pub was right across the street, and people raved about the wings. We parked, walked in, and were seated quickly. We ordered a six-piece of wings, some cheese curds, and a couple of burgers. The wings blew us away. Great dry rub, super crispy, with this backyard-BBQ smoke flavor I still struggle to describe. It took me straight back to backyard cookouts -- that char, that flavor you only get off the grill. These wings had it, and we were hooked. After that we explored the city a bit before going to our hotel. We only stayed the one night, but before heading home the next day, we stopped by and got another round. Since that first visit in 2020, we've driven up a few times a year just for the wings and tell EVERYONE that will listen about this spot. A few things to know before you go: they don't do to-go orders on the wings. And they're popular enough that even on a random Tuesday night, we once showed up craving them and found a line down the street. It moved fast, so don't let that scare you off -- just be ready to wait. We've mostly gone on weekends and don't live in town, so I can't really say which nights are best, but apparently any night can turn into a wait. Love stopping in local spots. Stopped in to grab some quick bites. They don't do to go orders and you have to dine in. The menu is also electronic which you have to pull up on your phone. It's definitely a college hangout spot from what I could tell, plenty of college kids on their watching the game and hanging out. The food was cool. Nothing that'll knock your socks off but it's good bar food through and through. They have a little set up where you can make a makeshift carry out with trays and aluminum foil to take your food with you. Wings, yes please! Points east is just east of my son's apartment and he suggested we eat here prior to an Admirals hockey game as it is one of his favorite local places. When his girlfriend found out we were going there she was all in as well. They ID everyone so be prepared for that when you arrive. I can see this place get's very busy and the couple times I have now been there we were early enough to get a table quickly. You order food and drinks at the bar and food runners bring your food. The interior is kind of typical older Milwaukee sports bar. tv's, neon, and lots to look at. There are no "to go" orders much to my son's chagrin. But they always order more that they can eat so they have leftovers. The wings and fries are fantastic. They do a dry rub only but it is super flavorful and just a little spice so nothing to be afraid of. The service is always really quick so we can order, eat and get rolling to the stadium quickly. The burger was placed on wet, cold leaf lettuce and did not have bacon on that said it would on the menu. Don't make the same mistake we did by waiting to try this place. We had a nice Sunday lunch at Points East since we were both craving wings. All of the staff were so nice, and the place had great vibes along with being well cleaned. The food came out super fast and pipping hot! Cheese curds were delicious (sad we forgot to take a picture). Fries were delicious. We were both glad we tried the Tex-Mex Corn Fritters, however probably would skip them next time. They are good, don't get me wrong, just not our favorite. Okay, now on to the star of the show. The WINGS!! Dang were they delicious. We were able to have their wings several times during the pandemic as a to go order and have been craving their wings for a long time. Tonight was our night. Date night with my husband for the Bucks game. We had the wings and the garlic fries. We weren't a fan of the garlic sauce but the fries were delicious dipped in the ranch that came with the wings. This place is known for their wings, but I don't really consider them anything special, just average. Always fresh though, and locals seem to love it. When you go in, you're going to see a fairly classic Wisconsin corner bar, but larger. It's always packed on game days. Of the three times I've gone, I've seen disruptive guests get tossed twice and make a huge scene, including one occasion where service to the entire bar was cut off temporarily. Some people I met at Summerfest recommended this place claiming it's one of the best sports bars in Milwaukee. That's a bold exclamation but Milwaukians are known to tell the truth so I trusted them. And it was rewarded! They claimed the wings is among the best you'll ever have and they aren't wrong. The wings are some of the best I've EVER had with the right amount of smokiness and texture; dipped in that homemade bleu cheese, you couldn't ask for a better bar eats. I played it safe (and cheap) by pairing the wings with bottles of Miller. They do have plenty of bourbon and whisky selections along with beer. Seeing those helped allowed me to connect with a few visitors from Chicago who were also here. We bonded over beers and shots while watching NFL week 1. Speaking of which, there's plenty of TVs showing all the games. The bartender was kind enough to put the colts game on where I sat despite the game being on a different tv. Sadly the colts played terrible and lost so in a random act of kindness, the bartender immediately had another beer open for me although I wasn't finished with mine. Much appreciated. This spot is one of my highlights of the trip. Great food, great people, great bartenders, just a great bar. No doubt this is on my rotation when I visit MKE again! read more

They do have a bit of a kick, so if you are sensitive to spice, I would take serious precautions. Hi I have been going to this place for years I never had a problem until now I will never go back reason being soon as I walked in they had a man at the door checking IDs doing garbage not washing his hands and setting up tables unsanitized. I-made it there a lil before 10pm. Ordered me and my boyfriend food when the food came out fries were cold I ordered 6 pieces he ordered 12. When I tell you they gave him 10 drumsticks & 2 flats it was not hot or done just threw us the last of the last they could have said kitchen closed. When I brought it to the man that was bartending that day he argued with me saying I can't do nothing the chicken is done if my boyfriend don't like drums he shouldn't eat chicken I mean the drums where so big. Then he go say ok this one about one of the drums I can see it is big. Then he continued on to say what you want me to do throw all the drumsticks out you get what comes out the bag. I have never been so mad in my life to have someone talk like that to me I almost lost it. I said I am asking you to fix the order no one wants 10 drums it should be half and half he still wanted to argue stating you can take it home, I walked away wasn't about to go back and fourth remind you it was customer their. He embarrassed me and their company when all he had to do was fix the food or take the food give my money back they have a no refund policy. I felt uncomfortable. As a vegetarian it was so nice to have an option other than cheese curds or a basket of fries to order and the hearty veggie topping options were appreciated. However, the bun was chewy and over steamed. The patty was closer to a veggie burger than an impossible patty. We also ordered a full order of garlic fries. The full order was enough for one person; so, the portion was much smaller than we anticipated. The garlic and butter sauce weren't worth it. Next time, we will just stick to a healthy side of mayonnaise or ketchup to dunk the fries in. read more

We got to take advantage of the stay at home order and get to-go wings from points east! This place has awesome reviews and the some wing pride and are usually pretty strict with how their wings are done, no kids, no take out. Even now, you have to call them for curbside pickup and speak with them personally. No delivery, and no leaving messages, no ordering ahead for a certain time, and no internet orders. That said, ordering was super easy - call, order, and drive. Wings were ready in 15 minutes, and a friendly server brought it out curbside and took our payment. Oh, and they also charged an extra $4 for the order. I wish they hadn't. I would have tipped them better. I don't know - I've never been a fan of this 'added gratuity'. It makes me feel like they're telling me how much their service is worth, rather than me deciding how good the service was. There's also a 36 wing limit per takeout. So that's what we ordered. It comes with about 4 sticks of celery per 18 wings and a side of ranch of blue cheese. The wings are fried, sauced, then grilled. It feels like a dry rub because it's been grilled after it's sauced, but the sauce felt to me more like a liquid hot sauce, that is dried up because of the grill. It's actually really good, with kicking flavors. I like that the wings are on the smaller side (though hubby likes them bigger). I must say, the wings are good. It's probably one of the best we've had in the greater Milwaukee area. The only better grilled wings we've had is from Buckets Pub down in Racine. But I'm sure it's a matter of personal taste - I just like the Buckets' dry rub better than Points' hot sauce rub taste better. read more

After about 15 minutes 8 more of the guest had arrived and they ordered wings, the same white young guy came and threw the wings on the table. said nothing, did not even know who the wings were for, he just throw them on the other end of the table, turned around, said nothing, and walked away as he gave the wrong person the wings. He needs to be FIRED because he did it a 3rd time and nearly got his AZZ whipped. We left and will NEVER COME again and give you our hard working money.
