I don't know what it is, the way they cook it, their sauce their cheese, but all of it combined is wonderful!!! They don't over sauce, they don't under cheese, and their crust is great! Ordered a pizza and was told delivery would be 45min to an hour. It is now an hour and 15 minutes and called the establishment and was hung up on when I asked about the location of my purchase. Oh, Pointer's. We had so many good days in college. I can't even begin to count them. I mean, really, who can have a party without a pointersaurus? Preferably one that has somehow come to appear at your party for free courtesy of the Wash U RCOs (Residential College Olympics). Pretty good pizza! I decided to try it for delivery after reading the reviews on yelp, and I'm satisfied! I've tried both the regular crust and the thick crust, and both are really good. Their veggie pizza is great. Delivery isn't the fastest i've experienced (took about 40 minutes each time), but they deliver until 2AM 7 days a week, and you really can't beat that. I was a little less than sober after a show by Preach at the duck room and was craving some pizza. I'm used to MU where all pizza places are open until 3 am...but I called all pizza places and NO ONE was open. Then, my boyfriend had a stroke of genius and remembered Pointers. NOT ONLY WERE THEY OPEN, they let me use the bathroom and laughed at all my less than fabulous jokes....(I kinda think I'm a comedian when I've been drinking)! The pizza was delicious. The pizza is okay. It would have been better if it were warm. I am staying in a local hotel and ordered my pizza online. In the order process I put that I am sitting in the bar near the front desk. Unfortunately, the information is not transferred to the delivery person. He stood at the desk for 20 minutes having the desk call my room that I was not in. Eventually somebody had the great thought to call the bar.... 10 feet away and ask if I was there. I tipped him 25% anyway. read more

This is a mixed bag. I ordered a 16" (large) 3 topping pizza thru Yelp, and was quoted a pick-up time of ~45 minutes later. Around ~40 minutes later, right when I was a block away trying to find parking, I got a call from them. The guy was wondering where I was, I told him right next door. He told me the pizza had been ready for almost half an hour. Strange, according to Yelp I still had 5 minutes. Pizza here is a different category from that of PIzza Hut, Dominoes, Papa Johns, , Jet's... It's simple. It's not cheap, not expensive. Was it worth $19.31? On most days, probably not. I would consider this joint to be an option only when other places are closed. This place has a redeeming quality though: It's open till 2AM, the latest out of any pizza place I've been to in STL. Alas, my college days have recently come to an end and I'm finally ready to close the book on late night pizza places, such as this one. read more

If you've lived in St. Louis most or all your life and have never had Pointer's Pizza then you really need to get out more. Forget about Domino's, Pizza Hut or Papa John's because Pointer's Pizza is the end all when it comes to what is by far the best pizza in our city and state. Very yummy pizza! The best reason to get a pizza from here would be to get the big dog of all pizza's... the Pointersaurus! You basically have to have a pick-up truck to be hired as a delivery person! Two friends and I got this pizza and barely fit it in the trunk cause your not going to fit it anywhere else. Frankly, I was jaded. The red neon signage over the sun-bleached yellow exterior didn't give me much quality comfort. Nor did the slightly dirty interior. But I've gotta hand it to Will F. - he's right. This is a good pizza! Loaded with cheese, covered in generous amounts of sauce that goes right to the edge of the not-too-thin / not-too-thick crust and they are very generous with the toppings. update: they *were* generous with toppings... I found this place when I was at the bike shop next door. I couldn't help but notice the amazing smells coming out of this pizza shop. I stopped in and grabbed a menu, but couldn't get any pizza that day. A couple of weeks later I finally got the chance to get some pizza, and I knew where to go. We are new in town and have tried a few places, but haven't been overly excited about any of them yet. We were still searching for the ultimate pizza place. I think I found it. This pizza is pretty cheap and they have some good deals, $14 for 2 md cheese pizzas for example. This night we decided on a 14inch with mushroom, onion, and meatball. It was delicious! I and I can't wait to get the chance to order from them again. Best pizza so far in St. Louis (although I hear Imo's is good, haven't had it yet). Go to Pointer's, you should not be disappointed. I really love this place and have been ordering from here since literally the week it opened like 20 years ago. When I was a kid this was always our Friday night place. My family ordered pizza, salad, and wings almost every week for years. The first time we had it was a memorable night. As my father finished his first slice he yelled "honey we are never ordering f***ing dominoes again!" I will never forget that. At my sixteenth birthday, my parents fed the mass of kids with the famous pointersauras which was awesome. They also delivery until 2 am which was awesome when I was in high school and college. They would even deliver the pizza to my garage door at 1:30 am as not to wake my parents. How cool is that. During college I got all my Wash U friends to fall in love with this place. We even ordered a pointersauras to the Olin Library at like 12:30 at night, which was quickly devoured by me and my grade grubbing study group. The school would also provide free pointers and beer during happy hour on Thursday night in the rathskeller (don't know if wash u still does that but they did when I was there). I bet I have eaten here more than 500 times and even tried the pointers challenge once and miserably failed (My roommate and I couldn't even eat half!!!). This place has given me so many great memories. but it was the amazing food which kept my family and I coming back again and again. The best thing, in my opinion is the sausage pizza. I love it with onions and would sometimes order double portions. They also offer a pizza with everything that is amazing (The Mastodon?). The buffalo wings are incredible. My senior year housemate literally ate those everyday and referred to picking up takeout as "going to the grocery store." They are great with extra sauce on the side. Literally all the appetizers are out of this world. The thought of their toasted ravioli makes me miss St. Louis. The salads are also good, but I don't have much experience with those. The sandwiches are so freaking good. Try the BLT with extra bacon and you will not be sorry. They also had good lunch specials, which were a favorite in college. If you are a hungry Wash U student, pick up the phone and order. Though I moved to NYC after graduation, I still remember the number: 314-644-2000. You will not go wrong with this place. The pizza is delicious. It doesn't taste like the other chains. The only chain I can stomach is Papa John's and this pizza blows Papa out of the water. I have always gotten a consistent product, consistent service, and great pricing. Their delivery is fast (but then again that might be because I live only about 3/4 of a mile away). They deliver until 2am every night! They offer a 10% student discount if you have a student ID, and I think they also offer discounts to police too. Their prices are sometimes even better than what the other guys charge when their pizza is on sale. I just ordered a 12' cheese pizza with two sprites (with my student discount and tip factored in) and my total was $15. They have a full menu, not just pizza. We (with help of friends) have consumed, over the years, no fewer than 30 Pointers' Pizzas, including the monsterous Pointersaurus. They are one of the few late night food options in our neighborhood and lucky for us the pizzas are always tasty and hot and the deliveries fast. These are not gourmet pizzas and I definitely wouldn't call them the best pizzas in St. Louis. Online ordering wasn't working and said the place was closed. I'm used to ordering late here so I called; big mistake. Reached a very very rude guy who just said they were open until 10pm on Sundays; it was just after 9pm so I ask why the online ordering wasn't working. He didn't like that question and repeated they were open until 10pm and he didn't know anything about online ordering. I went ahead and ordered over the phone although the guy didn't seem to want to be bothered. I ordered a 12" thin crust with sausage, mushrooms, and onion. He said it'll be 30 minutes and he was good on that. I tipped the delivery guy and got ready to enjoy my pizza. It was not the this crust I ordered; I assume what i got was their regular crust. It was thick, doughy and generally awful. The ingredients did not stand up well to that thick crust and the crust itself way too chewy and had a lousy taste. It was too late to call and complain, not that it would have done any good. Their thin crust is okay and that is all I've ever ordered. I was starving and managed to eat 2 slices but it. Wasn't a pleasant experience. What a waste of money. The rest of this pie is not worth saving for leftovers; into the trash. read more

What constitutes a 5-Star rating? Pointer's Pizza. That's what. 5 Stars will get you quality, consistency, and pure deliciousness. Pointer's Pizza is not your typical cheese-n-cracker St. Louis Style pizza. It is your mozzarela, red sauce, hand tossed crust pizza that you find in most other parts of the country. But Pointer's does it right, and they get it right every time. If I am feeling unsure about what to eat - I always go to Pointers. The cheese is always ooey-gooey good and the sauce has a distinct flavor that never lets me get by without eating at least 5 pieces. They always have great coupon specials - just ask. The standard Pepperoni is a staple at our house. So is the sauasage and mushroom. In fact, you can order anything you want and it will be solid. We have had the wings, the pasta, the salad. It's all good. Real good. I just can't recommend Pointer's enough. Great food, great pizza. If I ever move away from St. Louis, any time I come back I will be sure to go to Pointers. Ordered pizza at the Big Bend location in Richmond Heights. Sat down to eat it at my home and there were tiny bugs all throughout the pizza box that were possibly termites or baby cockroaches. I counted at least 5-10 bugs. Naturally, I immediately took all the food outside to the dumpster to get the bugs out of my apartment. When speaking to the manager about the issue--he hung up on me twice stating "I need to look into the matter." Typical fast pizza joint, not amazing but not bad. Service was friendly but the pizza was just kind of bland, the sauce was tasteless and veggies didn't seem fresh. I also got the Cannelloni which, again, was bland (a tasteless, watery sauce which might have been the pizza sauce again?).
