Full house! Reservations are a must. Home style smoked menu and Dutch style food. We sat at the bar, happily, with no reservations. Friendly atmosphere other than the singleton at the end of the bar seeking a one night stand Valentine. Our bartender was great, very pleased to find an Irish stout, even in a can. She also made a great Espresso Martini. My farmhouse salad was spot in and my husband is still salivating over the Dutchman meal.

Came for our first time to try a new place. We were seated at a table in the bar area of this historic hotel building, which was beautifully restored. We both had drinks then my husband got a salad, which was huge, then he got beef tips while I got their smokehouse meatloaf. We both enjoyed our meals and I took my meatloaf home for 2 more lunches! I did get their apple raisin bread pudding which was wonderful, but also so large that I took most home. We will go back here. Sadly, it is only open for dinners and reservations are needed- but such a special place! And, they have birch beer on tap!! What a treat! Service was excellent- friendly, polite and professional.

Twice smoked beef brisket burnt ends is a carnivores dream! Crispy, smokey, melt in your mouth glory. Pair it with a couple of your favorite beers & good to go

Dry corn bread with terrible herbed butter.

Nice people, good service, good drinks. And a nice place.. However the brisket was so dry you couldn't was it down with a gallon of water.. cornbread was dry too, with herbed butter. Should be honey butter. Ribs were over smoked too. Not all it's hyped up to be.

    Wings! Delicious.

We haven't been here in years, yet it was as good as I remembered. We started with wings, old bay style with Cajun ranch and Parmesan peppercorn dipping sauces...DELISH! We then split the pickle brined chicken sandwich which was fantastic, tender and tasty and the prime rib sandwich which was also flavorful. The sides were great too...Mac-n-cheese and coleslaw. Definitely a great spot. Reservations are highly recommended.

My favorite place. They never disappoint. The food is very fairly priced and it is absolutely outstanding. Everything is homemade. I took a friend here and he was super impressed with the pulled pork sandwich. Well worth my 40 minute drive each way.

They try to bring you back in time. But has today's menu and pricing. Also they won't give you the traditional last shot in the bottle.

I order the pick two with pulled pork and ribs, it was great and very decent portion size; I definitely had left overs.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

The experience provided does not meet expectations for the price point required…read more Spent the weekend doing their murder mystery package, and overall it was okay. The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

Just in time for Halloween!…read more Perched atop Packer Hill in the village of Jim Thorpe, this place was used as the model for the Haunted Mansion at Disney, whose interior is anything but spooky. After our tour at Asa Packer, he later built his son Harry a mansion next door as a wedding present in 1874. The mansion's impressive facade could have been taken from a Gothic novel, so much so that the building's design caught the eye of Disney Imagineers where my partner, his aunt, and I came to take some photos last Saturday. The Harry Packer Mansion Inn is open for lodging, tours on weekends, drinks at Libations Lounge, and, of course, murder mystery. Fifteen-foot ceilings, marble fireplaces, and gilded mirrors reflect the elegance of the Victorian Age. If you are in the area, it's a photo op.
