This 5 star review is for the team at the PODS Perris, CA location. They have made access to our POD and verification of what is actually happening with our POD bearable. The company itself gets 1 star - seems to be using an antiquated computer system so you cant access correct information on your POD. Website is down allot - dashboard doesn't come up, etc. Ours was supposed to be picked up in Fullerton, ca and delivered to this Perris location. Months later when it became time to access our POD we were told it was in Chino, Ca - but wait, it was actually in Santa Ana - we only found that out due to another amazing warehouse worker, John, at the POD storage in Santa Ana. Today the person on the company customer service line said our POD was 'in transit'. Due to our previous issues, I contacted Xavier in Perris and our POD was still there. He is making sure it gets picked up and sent out tomorrow. Thank you so much to Xavier and the rest of the team. We have accessed our POD there twice with no issues. As far as the PODS company goes - they need to redo their systems so that their customer service people actually know whats going on with your POD. Andre did an OUTSTANDING job getting my POD delivered. The ONE star is for the customer service. The road IFO my house washed out. I called ahead of time to make sure the driver understood to stop on the blacktop & call me BEFORE he attepmted to deliver the POD. I explained our issue; showed him the road was impassible. He called his boss & explained what the problem was. With the help of my neighbor, she allowed the POD to be dropped on her property so I could unload it. Andre took down the address; took pictures of the road conditions & where the POD was located. How can PODS NOT update their system & make note of the address where it was dropped off? Had I done a better job of checking first, to see the other bad reviews, I would have never used PODS. read more

The level of incompetence PODS demonstrates repeatedly is mind blowing. I have spent thousands with them in the last year, mostly because they are making the process of retrieving my stuff impossible. Every phone call is met with a hour+ of hold time. 90% of the agents are rude. The "process" is different depending on who I speak to. They have said they will call back 6 times, once they did (but offered no solutions). Last week I realized my payment was 2 months late, how was that possible as I've received an invoice every month? Today I was told they decided to stop sending invoices and were waiting for us to figure it out on our own as they decided not to share that change. For unexplained reasons, they refuse to deliver to my new area. Now I have to hire movers to unload my unit and bring it to me, defeating the entire purpose of using this company. It's nearly 10am now and the Perris location where my POD is, is a 15 MINUTE drive to my daughter's house where it was supposed to be delivered today! Still on HOLD! I'm a small business owner, and if my customers were being put through what I'm being put through at PODS, I'd want to know about it. No one deserves to be treated this poorly. One is, how long after my POD is delivered to my new house do I have to unload it without incurring any additional costs? Secondly, how much is the delivery fee to my new home? Delivery was as promised. Was storing POD in my yard to put overflow furniture inside in order to STAGE my home for a sale. The POD was in my driveway for apx 2 months, which they promptly charged my credit card for. I have been on hold over an hour now waiting to speak to someone about picking up the POD. This morning I was on hold over 25 minutes. I tried going on line but my one and only email address doesn't seem to work. Obviously my name was entered wrong. I tried to call yesterday and once again could not get anyone to answer the phone. I need this POD removed, PRONTO! The new owner is coming. So far, I have had an excellent experience with PODS. The delivery person is Ronald and he was very kind and professional and handled Podzilla like an artist. Yes it is an expensive process, but for our situation, it was the best value and my interactions with everyone has been exactly what they promise and exactly what I need. DO NOT use this service. They say you can get your stuff out of storage any time - just schedule 7 days in advance.. but when i really needed my stuff they had NO dates for weeks. So i had to leave my stuff in storage for weeks after I needed it OR had the option to hire a truck to empty my pod and get it myself (over 1 hour from my house and 100's of extra dollars). It seems to me they take your stuff, hold it hostage for as long as the wish with no guarantee they'll get it to you any time near the time you need it. Total scam. BEWARE. read more

We've used Pods for over 10 years now. Each time we realize that while the service is great, they find a way to make it even better. This time, we're working with the Perris, Ca store and they are the best yet. Ronald N 49343 dropped off another pod this morning. unfortunately, I'm frail and elderly but Ronald made sure the pod was placed perfectly for our needs. He even asked if I wanted him to open the pod door. He said that sometimes items packed in the pod can shift while moving and he wanted to make sure the door would open and anything that might have moved inside would not tumble down and hit me in the head. Ronald is an incredible Ambassador for Pods. He didn't just come to drop off a pod in my driveway. He came as a fellow human being, wanting to do the right thing. Do not use PODS! After having the pod rented out for 2 months because of our move, it was transferred to our new location, the door was jammed and could not get it open any way possible. We called CS and no one could come out until maybe 2 weeks after. Mind you, we had our fridge full of food by the door so when we opened it right away and could be the 1st thing out. Guess what? Everything got spoiled!!! $500-$600 worth of food gone to the trash because no one from PODS came out sooner to try to just open the door on their end. Also one of my big screen tvs was broken when I opened it. All pods did When I called was transferring me to different departments not helping me at all just to give me the run around every time. And the one person that did helped me said I was gonna get some type of credit on my account now there saying that I ain't getting nothing cause it was all my fault. I used this company to move my family from San Bernardino CA to Washington state. I was quoted a price for pick up, storage and delivery. I gave my credit card and was charged every month as quoted until my delivery date. After months and thousands of dollars, when the delivery of my stuff was finally to take place they shook me down for an additional $500 fee to deliver to my new home. After this bait and switch they contacted 5 months later to notify me that they forgot to charge my card and that I owe them $522 more dollars. I contacted them repeatedly to try and sort out the trouble with their billing and to settle this with them. I got no response from their management and instead was sent to collections. This company is the most unprofessional and unorganized company ever. I was getting ready to do a large renovation and needed a pod delivered to my home to hold my items. The day the first pod was set to deliver the time window came and went and they did not show up. I call and they have forgotten about me. They were able to figure out how to still deliver the pod the same day but it was a mess trying to ensure delivery. Fast forward another 20 days I needed a second pod. On Sunday the 13th I called and spoke with a representative for a delivery of Tuesday the 15th. Tuesday morning I called pods right away as I was concerned that I would be forgotten again, nor did I get the text message the night before with the delivery window. Come to find out the representative scheduled it for the wrong day. He scheduled it for Sunday the 13th and I have been told that they don't do deliveries on Sunday the 13th, also this was the day that I ordered the pod. Also the system was showing the pod was already delivered... but it was not. The first representative I spoke with said that the representative that ordered it on Sunday for me did it incorrectly and he could have it delivered on the 17th. I needed it prior to the 17th as I had a very expensive range being delivered that I needed to store. That representative transferred me to a second representative who stated she did not care that he did it incorrectly and it was not their problem about the delivery issues. They could not deliver the pod until the 17th. At this point she started raising her voice and cussing at me. The next thing I know she hung up. I went online to use the chat feature and the individual was helpful but could not bump up the delivery from the 17th. I have attempted to call several times since then, but each time is a 20+ wait. I used the callback feature and when they called me back the representative got disconnected and didn't bother to call me back. I called the 800 number again and got in the queue with a 27 minute wait. At this point I have yet to actually speak with a representative who is able to answer why I could not have the original delivery date nor do anything about it. I can't say enough bad things about this Company. They make promises out of their headquarters but their local managers and staff are basically incompetent. They have no control over their local people. It's crazy and you have zero control. They did not show up on box moving day and I had to call and argue with them about what happened. The National office didn't even know they cancelled my pick up order. We waited for hours and no one showed up. Crazy. Believe me you are totally helpless when they don't show up, everything is in their box, and you have to leave your property that day. Your house has closed escrow and you must leave. It has been more than a year now since I moved from Chicago to San Diego and I'm still dealing with the aftermath of incorrect charges with Pods. I rented 3 pods for my move and had paid originally with one credit card and then paid with a second for the storage that was expended while home remodeling was being done. The first problem I had with Pods is that I received several different dates as to when my belongings were expected to arrive at the Riverside location. After my renovations were completed I emptied the small pod on site in Riverside before the renewal for another months rental was to occur. The other 2 pods were delivered to my new address and picked up before their renewal date of charges. Pods went ahead and charged both credit cards on file along with charging an extra month of storage even though all three pods had been emptied and returned in a timely manor. After several phone calls to their customer service and the assistance of the BBB, Pods finally removed the double charges but not the extra over $860 charges for an extra month of storage that I did not use. I finally got a message from a manager but she unfortunately did not identify herself when leaving her message. I again had to call customer service, the dispute department, but they were not allowed to put me thru to the manager. (I need to look for her name but can share it when I find it.) They wouldn't put me thru nor would they explain to me why for the 3rd time they decided I was wrong and that they were not in the wrong and weren't going to refund my money. After a long call and my showing my frustration and explaining that I didn't have over $800 to just give to company, the man on the phone said some sort of change was made to my account. That the dates of returning the pods was changed without my knowledge and that's why they were charging me for that month where I had the pods returned, according to the original dates we agreed on instead. He would not put me thru to the female manager that entered those remarks, eventhough she had left the message for me to please return her call. So, after a year of their trying to double charge me for storing my items and then making the renewal date earlier than was agreed upon to charge me another month of rental fees, I am still fighting with this company. The BBB has not done anything but forward my complaints. I will now need to investigate what steps I need to take from here. Please do yourself a favor and avoid working with this company. I had kind people on the phone when calling and I had a partronizing individual who thought my concerns were a joke and no manager had the courage to even get on the phone! read more

Worst experience ever. I ordered two pods and had them stored with them as well. Once they dropped them off one was damaged and I was never notified about it. The door was so smashed in I couldn't open the door and had movers scheduled the same day to empty my pod. The driver knew nothing and told me to call customer service . After calling four times and speaking to someone about it over a period of a week nothing was done nor will corporate call me about it. I wish I could write a review only on the driver, SAM was AWESOME!!!!!!! He rescued a bit of the bad taste I have from dealing with this company. I was charged a full second month of storage because they "could not pick up the container" on the dates I had picked up. So they finally came to pick up the container 6 days after my original date and now they are refusing to provide a full refund, claiming that it is my fault that they did not pick up the container. The billing cycle started on the 21st of the month. I had requested pickup on the 22nd, got a text indicating that 22nd was not available, then they gave me a date for the 25, with another email stating that pickup was not available until the 27th, so now I have to pay for their unavailability.... not fair, something makes me think that all the changes in date are another way for them to scam people out of extra money. If you can avoid this company, please do for the sake of your money read more

Sooooo angry. We lived in Corona and were moving to either Oregon or Washington to retire. We told lady on the phone that and she assures us that they will deliver either state to our new house that we buy. So we finally bought a house 4 months later in Washington and call to have our POD delivered and find out we are hour and half from the POD site. I guess there is only couple. So now after paying over 3000 bucks we will still have to rent Uhaul and load and unload and spend time and more money. They NEVER said this on the phone when we called. PODS has been the most expensive and most dissatisfactory business experience in my entire life. I ordered five containers over a two year period. The last container I ordered they sent to my deceased mother's house which was sold nearly two years before. This was despite having told the representative on the phone that it was the wrong address. That mistake caused me a five day delay in delivering the last container. Thanks to the colossal incompetence of the PODS organization (more to the point, DISORGANIZATION) I barely finished packing at the very last hour of the day that we closed on our home sale. Now I'm at the point where I'm ready to move in to my new home. Guess what? More problems. They charged the wrong debit card and then called me to tell me that I was being deleted from the delivery schedule. I had to start the whole process over again. I am now at the point where I have spent TWO HOURS on the phone ordering, and then reordering the delivery of my containers. Having been unsuccessful in accepting the rental agreement on line needed for delivery of my containers (a requirement that makes absolutely no sense since I am already committed to this travesty of a business) I called and talked to a very competent fellow who talked me through the rental agreement. I thought that was the end of the problems. How wrong I was. I received an automated phone message less than an hour later that informed me that I must accept the rental agreement or my order for delivery would be canceled. I called them back yet again and was told that PODS automatically sends out these automated calls regardless since it takes them at least 24 hours to acknowledge that the rental agreement has been accepted by the customer. This is not the way to engender a positive review from a customer who has spent over $25,000 with a business. I would give this business ten negative stars if that was possible. read more

Keith was patient, kind and took his time to explain to our building manager why the container needed to be placed in a specific area. Have been paying them over 200 bucks a month for years. Called to setup a day to pick something up out of my Pod. I live 50 miles away from where the pod is. THEY gave me the address to where the pod is. Spend two hours in traffic on a Friday to get there to pick up a birthday present for a friends son. The address they gave me was an old address where they used to store the pods!!!!!!Called them and it took them 70 minutes to tell me where my Pod was!!!!! The unit was 35 miles away from where they told me it was. By this time they were closing and I didn't have time to go to where it was before they closed. Had to get up next day at 6:00 to be at pod by 8:00 to get what I needed. Ruined two days. Offered me 25 dollar credit. Seriously 25 bucks. Totally crazy experience and nobody from corporate has contacted me about this. read more

My moving experience with PODs has been a disaster so far, mistakes have been made that have seriously impacted my move and despite numerous calls there has been no resolution. I still have a container that hasn't been picked up that should have been picked up weeks ago. I have stuff that was supposed to go into a container that was picked up too soon. We used PODS to pack up our "stuff" and then used Merit Movers to move the furniture. We moved from San Bernardino to South Orange County. We were quoted correctly for the service. I would not say it was less expensive to pack our stuff ourselves and place it into the PODS. But it was more convenient and less stressful. We were able to take our time to sort and purge and then place the boxes into the POD to make room for more sorting and purging. Don from the Riverside office is the best. He was able to explain about moving between marketplaces as PODS is nationwide but handled locally via marketplaces and local offices. TIP: Book online, but then talk to the local office. If you are moving between marketplaces, you need to understand how it works and know that the billing will look a little crazy. But I went back through all the invoices and credits and I was billed as quoted. This was our second time using PODS. Our first move, seven years ago, was in town and went off without a hitch. read more
