I would absolutely avoid this joke of a company unless you only need 1 POD and live in the middle of nowhere on a completely clear, level plot of land. Oh, and only if you're ok with your belongings taking a month to be delivered, and your pick-up/delivery dates changing every couple of days. So, here's what happened. We ordered 3 PODS. 2 16', and one 8'. All three were supposed to be delivered on the same day, as we had movers ready to go. We only recieved 2 PODS.‍ The movers could not fit everything into the one 16' and one 8' PODS. We had to leave A LOT of our belongings in our driveway for a haul away company to pick up...which we had to pay for. Obviously, we cancelled the 16' POD that was not delivered because it was useless at this point. Well, to pour salt into the deep wounds they had already caused, they delivered the 16' POD anyway, blocking the other, full PODS from being able to be picked up. ‍ And then they let the PODS sit on our property for two weeks...while we're trying to sell the house. This company needs a logistics department. One of the drivers told me that he NEVER talks to a human at the office.‍ We spent hours on the phone with these people...on the occasions when they *didn't* just hang up on us. We are out sooo much money and time just because we chose PODS. PLEASE, don't make the same mistake. To the social media response person...please don't post your standard, stock answer in response to my review. It shows how little you actually care. The ONLY response I want from you people is a HUGE apology and a HUGE discount for all the money and time you cost us. Update... So, as everyone can see, PODS did exactly as I requested they *NOT* do. You PODS people have already been contacted. My spouce has already spoken to corporate exec members, and at no point did they offer recompense of ANY kind. Again, your company is a joke. You have my first name and last initial. PODS was supposed to deliver my pod on August 28. I waited for the duration of the window of time, three hours. I then received the text saying that my pod would not come until September 1. I ordered my. on the website and they asked how many bedrooms I had. I wrote down 3. A 16 foot pod was recommended when it arrived it was too small for my furniture. I contacted pods and explained that the pod was too small and that they had come late so their service was useless to me even though I paid almost $500 for they took no responsibility and I would not recommend this company to anyone read more

Just try to get a person on the phone.. they give you one general number that disconnects you. You cannot reach the local storage facility where they store you PODS so that you can see what is inside or the condition its in before you move them. Its a really bad communication network for something that should be better since its your home's contents they are moving. Is it really so difficult to have a call center that serves the people who pay high fees for this storage. Its not the cheapest way to move your property and they are not available to you when you need a live agent. United Van Lines and UHAUL and all the old guard movers surpass this company in human intelligence. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would ! I booked a pod to be delivered this Friday and picked up Monday. I was told it would be getting there at the latest 6:45, then 7:15, then 11:24. At 11:30 they told me it would be delayed by 2 weeks. No one would give me a straight answer about what happened, or any real reassurances that this wouldn't happen if I waited the two weeks, something that would have been impossible for me anyways. Not sure how they are completely overbooking themselves like this, but I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I used pods a few years ago on my move from Texas and it was wonderful. This go around has been an absolute nightmare. Pick ups and drop offs keep getting rescheduled (even after confirming multiple times the day and time). Packed up all of our stuff (including our beds) thinking we would start our drive down after the pod was picked up today but it was rescheduled to Tuesday ONE HOUR after we called to confirm and they said we were 3rd in line. So. now my family (including 3 kids) have no beds for the next 3 nights. The driver left my 2nd pod illegally in the street and now I can't get them to pick it up and no one can get a hold of anyone at the facility and I don't feel comfortable leaving the state with my entire life sitting in the road. Oh, and all this joy for $5K+ a pod. That's just half the story. Praying for some good news on Monday morning. read more

I am not a customer of pods. Yet I received a pod on June 22 that was placed in my driveway in my parking spot blocking my access to park. The pod is not mine. I've called every single day a few days twice a day. Requesting that they come and pick up the pod that is not mine. I have waited on the phone every single time I called well over 45 minutes before someone actually picked up the phone. I'm getting some sort of overseas person to speak with. They have put in multiple tickets supposedly for someone to come and get this pod off my property. Eight days now and it's still here. I genuinely don't know where to begin because every single interaction with PODS somehow managed to be worse than the one before it. We used PODS for a cross-country move, and not one step of the process went according to plan. Not the drop-off. Not the pickup. If there was an opportunity for something to go wrong, PODS found it and exceeded expectations. The pickup of one of our PODS at our old home was delayed so badly that it actually impacted the closing of our house. That's not an inconvenience; that's a major life event being disrupted because a moving company couldn't manage its schedule. Then came delivery. When our PODS failed to arrive within the promised window, did anyone call? Email? Send a carrier pigeon? Of course not. Instead, the delivery simply disappeared from our account as if it had never existed. We eventually reached the point of threatening to call the police because we genuinely had no idea where our belongings were. And we are still waiting on the final POD. Trying to contact customer service deserves its own special section. Calling PODS is less of a customer service experience and more of a psychological endurance test. Long hold times, transfers, conflicting information, and associates who seem completely powerless to help. We spent more than 10 hours on the phone trying to get answers. One of my favorite parts was being told to complete actions online that cannot actually be completed online. It's a fun little scavenger hunt where the prize is having to call customer service again. After hours of waiting, being transferred, and slowly losing your will to live, you'll eventually hear someone tell you they're "doing everything they can." If by "everything they can" they mean driving customers to the brink of madness, then yes, they absolutely are. This review doesn't even scratch the surface of how frustrating this experience has been. To successfully work with PODS, you need the patience of a saint, the persistence of a hostage negotiator, and the investigative skills of a detective trying to locate stolen property. Our pickup was confirmed for May 30, 2026, between 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM EST. When the POD was not picked up within the scheduled window, we contacted PODS Customer Service and were advised that there was a delay and that pickup would occur later that same day at approximately 4:36 PM EST. After receiving no pickup, we contacted Customer Service again and were informed that the driver was completing another delivery and that our location was the next scheduled stop, with an estimated arrival time of 5:11 PM EST. While actively speaking with the PODS representative, we simultaneously received a voicemail advising that, due to "unforeseen circumstance driver hours," our pickup had been canceled. No definitive rescheduled pickup date was provided at that time. This situation is completely unacceptable and has created significant hardship for our family. We are scheduled to close on the sale of our home on June 2, 2026, and we specifically coordinated our move, closing timeline, relocation plans, and POD rental around the confirmed pickup date of May 30, 2026. Our home has already been fully vacated in preparation for closing, and we are relocating out of state immediately thereafter. As a direct result of PODS' cancellation, we are now facing: -Potential delays and complications with our real estate closing. -Additional moving and logistical expenses. -Potential liability issues associated with having a POD remain on the property after ownership transfers. -Significant disruption to our relocation schedule and move-in arrangements at our new residence. Rescheduling my POD on someone else's property without permission is in breach of contract. You cannot legally leave my container and personal belongings on another party's property without authorization. The property belongs to someone else officially on June 2nd at 12:00am. Additionally, the new property owners are threatening to have the container towed if not removed already, which could result in the loss of my family's belongings. I emphasize that if this occurs due to your negligence, it could expose PODS to significant legal liability. 0/10 - do not recommend this company at all. They have zero compassion or regards for people, only that their drivers make it back in time to clock out to avoid paying overtime. read more

That was the level of additional customer service I received. I do find it amusing Pods responded faster to my public complaint posts than they did any other communications I tried. First off the delivery was okay, our issue came when scheduling a pick up, we were given a day for them to come, that morning I get a call stating they didn't have a driver to come out so they needed to reschedule which was a whole other week away. the reason we picked the 1st delivery is so that we wouldn't be charged for another month. now because of an issue on their end and another week out they charged us for another month $232.27 and additional $78 for pickup charge something they did. when we called to complain my husband got no satisfaction and asked to speak to a higher up he was told no one was available and would return our call, which never happened. So the resolution came when we checked our bank and found that they waived the pickup charge and refunded partial payment of $153.31. I wouldn't recommend them for that reason. The absolute WORST...we have had many PODS containers over the years, and delivery and pickup were managed very well. Our current experience has been a complete NIGHTMARE. Container was delivered as scheduled, but pickup was cancelled after our window had passed and reschedule for 10 days later. I have called the 800 number a dozen times in the last three days, and NO ONE can tell me when the container will be picked up. Custom service finally shared that they had overbooked and do not have the capacity to service the current schedule of containers, leaving me and likely many others high and dry during an already stressful move. No offer to credit or discount fees, just no answers. A great example for how NOT to run a business. read more

PODS for the win!! I recently had to leave southern CA pretty urgently and PODS was on it immediately. From the first phone call, everyone was friendly and helpful. One customer service agent applied a 10% discount that was available online that I didn't even know to mention! PODS prices were highly competitive, over $3000 cheaper than Allied, UHaul, etc to move my life across the country. MyPODS portal is super user friendly and has everything from booking to reservation changes if you're not a phone person! Drop off/pick up were a breeze, always on time and the drivers were very communicative. Everything arrived safely and in the estimated time window. Emptied out my POD at the Bristol, CT location and the staff was friendly and helpful! My POD was waiting for me in the parking lot right at 8am! (Shout out to CT Moving and Storage who are right up the street to help me move everything!) I will absolutely use PODS again and I highly recommend them to others! read more

I hired pods to help us move from an apartment to our first home. We were moving to a town 10 miles away! They dropped the pod as planned and we had a scheduled pod transfer day of Friday May 29th, which was closing day on our house. We received an email the night before saying that we had a scheduled transfer day for Friday May 29th and that we would receive a call in the morning from our driver, letting us know what time they were picking up the pod and bringing it to our new location. That morning we never received a call from the driver so around noon we gave Pod a call and they said our pod would be transferred between 2 PM and 5 PM. We sat around at our new house waiting for a pod to be delivered so we could start moving in, the pod never came. Around 6 PM we called pod and asked if they had a delivery update because it was now 6 PM and our three children did not have their beds, their clothes or any of their belongings. They reported to us that they did not have a driver to pick up our pod that day so they would have to reschedule the transfer for the following day. As inconvenient as this was, they promised us a call at 8 AM to schedule a transfer time. My wife and kids had to plan for other sleeping arrangements because everything that we needed was in the pod. That night around 8 PM I got an email that the pod was successfully delivered to our new address. A little bit confused because we were told it was not going to be delivered I drove back to the new house to find that there was no pod delivered, and it in fact still sat at our apartment. The following day we never received a call at 8 AM. I called the pod Company at 9 AM and explained that I got an email saying the pod was delivered and it wasn't and that I never received a call at 8 AM to let me know the new delivery time for today. They explained that they could not in fact deliver it that day and that we would have to reschedule. This was not a sustainable option for our family as we have three children and we needed to get moved into our house because we had taken days off from work and had to be out of our apartment by the end of June 1st and we were losing time. So I went and picked up a moving trailer that morning and we made trips to move everything out of the pod into our house. We had called pods to notify them that we no longer needed a transfer and that we just needed the pod picked up off of the property by June 1st so we did not get charged an extra months rent. They said they would cancel the transfer and pick up the pod the following day. That night I received another email that the pod had been successfully transferred to our new home. however it was not. Every day we keep getting promises that the pod is going to be picked up and every day we continue to be charged from pods for services they are not providing. They explained to us that things like this can happen and that this is part of the "contract schedule" I cannot seem to get through to anybody that is not in a call center in another country giving us the same exact false information over and over again we are at a loss of what to do as the pod still sits in the driveway of our old apartment and we continue to get charged. No matter how many times we call and beg and plead with them we are getting nowhere. This has been and continues to be incredibly stressful And has put significant hardship on my family. We just want them to pick up the pod and refund us for the service they did not complete But according to pods this is normal and they have done nothing wrong! Recently had my PODS delivered to my home in preparation for a move out west. PODS representatives handled all the logistics, all I had to do was provide addresses and dates. Regarding my drop off, the young lady Jaime was exceptional. Her professionalism, knowledge and her operating the heavy equipment was more than excellent. Now that we are trying to move they are telling us that they are going to charge us business rates to move it?? They also said that our 2 hour move is considered long distance so they have to store it in a facility overnight (which they will charge us an additional $500 to put it in and $500 to check it back out.) They make it very easy to start with them, but once they have you hostage they will bleed you dry. We could have used a full service moving company for less than they are trying to bill us. If I could do zero stars I would, ordering and drop off was a breeze, now come to pickup day before going to our new home and they lose all my set locations and dates in the system so now the earliest I can receive my belongings is 6 days after I move into my new home 800 miles away. Than I receive a call from the driver saying he doesn't feel comfortable going up my driveway due to the incline and needs to reschedule. Now the new owners are moved in and made away of the delay. The next day I receive no call from any driver only a call from customer service saying the driver can't pick up your pod due to a moving truck in the way that won't move.( I reached out to my realtor who confirmed that was a lie) he never even stopped the truck. after countless phone calls and promises to be called back and endless lies from everyone we are even further out on our delivery date and still have our belonging now sitting in someone's new home right in their way. I've had Comcast internet, flown Spirit Airlines, and been an AT&T customer, but PODS is without a doubt the worst customer experience I've ever had. When you move, things are stressful enough without complete incompetence from the moving service that you are expecting to help you out. I scheduled a drop-off service in New Haven about 1.5 months before my move. Before the scheduled drop-off date I had four separate conversations with customer service representatives confirming my details and asking them questions about the service. This was all fine. NOTE: When you call a local PODS number, even though you use a local area code they all get redirected to a national hotline. In my probably about a dozen calls that I've made to them, wait time has been at least 20 minutes if not longer. Day of drop-off comes, pod doesn't show up. I have a permit from the city for the pod and have paid to have no parking signs put up. Website says it is scheduled for that day/time/address. Guy on the phone even tells me "it's on it's way." - Nothing. Not even a phone call to say "we aren't coming, sorry". About two hours after the service window comes and goes, I have to call in myself and try and figure out what's going on. Then they tell me, "we can't do drop off service in CT." What?!? How is that even possible? Why would four different customer service representatives have looked at my account and not figured that out? How to they have the gall to charge my credit card for a service that they know they can't perform? If it was just one person who missed the boat and didn't see this, fine. But the levels of incompetence needed for it to get to that point is unbelievable. How did four people miss this? Why did I need to call them to figure this out? If they had just told me from the get go that they can't do what I'm asking: fine, no harm done. I still have weeks to figure out an alternative. But instead I'm sitting there thinking everything is hunky-dory until literally after it was supposed to arrive the day of the move. Best part is, at this point I still can't get ahold of the local office (who are the ones saying they can't do street delivery in New Haven, despite the fact that the city issued me a permit for that purpose and even sent officials out to put up "no parking" signs). I'm still talking to freaking Jake from corporate who has about as much information as I do at this point. In total, have probably spend 3 hours on hold or trying to get information from customer service reps on a day I'm supposed to be moving. Long-story short, I needed to spend additional money to rent a U-Haul truck to bring my stuff up to Bristol myself. I wish I could have avoided giving this incompetent company money but at that point I was already a whole day late leaving my apartment and this was the only solution I could get on such short notice. I got to have a nice chat with the guy in the local office who pointed fingers at the corporate people as the ones who screwed up. This is likely the case but the fact that the local office didn't even try to contact me to clarify the situation is still unacceptable. Will never use again. read more

I immediately got an email, and after going back-and-forth with the guy, I finally got somebody to call me. No surprises here... That woman promised to call me back the same day or the next day at the latest, but never did. My original complaint was about their incompetence, repeated changes in delivery dates, and no callbacks. It's only gotten worse. Stay as far away from this company as you possibly can. I booked a POD to be delivered for storing our furniture for 1 week while we had our floors redone. We have to pay for an entire month, despite only needing it for 1 week. We booked in advance to make sure it would be available the week we needed. We had it delivered with no issues. The next day I see a commercial on TV for their special of 30% off. I spoke with customer service questioning the special, and am told because it was already delivered, they could not apply the promo. The special was active the day they delivered, yet I was never notified. An email for pre booked reservations would have been nice. If I had waited until the last minute, I would have saved well over $100. Terrible customer service. I hope I NEVER have to use this company again. I would never recommend them. read more

The only problem is that when orginally delivered, the delivery person could not position the pod where we had originally asked, due to some low-hanging power lines. The problem I had Wit the drop off of the container is they back the lift into my fence and broke it. Picking up the container at the same address they drove into one of my flower beds and crushed all my flowers. When it was time to deliver to my new address I was not living there yet I get a phone call 5:30 in the morning they're at the house dropping it off. no consideration for my neighbors. Then when it was time to pick it up when I was done with it they drove on my neighbor's lawn and dug up her grass and left ruts in the lawn again my driveway has plenty of clarence as their website States. I am profoundly disappointed with my PODS experience. I chose PODS for a move from MA to New Haven, CT, knowing that I would need temporary storage for my belongings. I considered just using a regular storage facility but decided to pay more for the door-to-door service that PODS promises. Although I did not have a specific delivery address, I stated clearly that the container was to be delivered to New Haven. At no time during the multiple phone calls that I had with representatives to order and schedule my service, was I given any suggestion that I would get less than door-to-door service. Now, come time to have my container delivered, I am informed that PODS is unable to park the container on street parking. During one of the many phone calls I had with customer service, I was told that this was due to city regulations, but I could see if the city would make exceptions. I called the city, and was told clearly that I was permitted to park a storage container and was instructed on which permits to get. I then called PODS back to confirm that I would be able to get all the necessary permits. I was then told that *EVEN WITH A PERMIT* this particular PODS facility will not deliver containers to street parking in ALL OF NEW HAVEN. This has nothing to do with city regulations, it is a PODS policy. Why then was I not told about this prior to shelling out thousands of dollars on service that they knew they could not deliver? How simple would it be to just post that information on the website? When I ask them what my options are, they have no answer. I am now left in the position of having to spend extra money to collect my stuff from the PODS facility an hour away in Bristol--not to mention all the time and back breaking that I thought I was saving myself by paying PODS in the first place. I certainly would never recommend a business with such poor customer service and transparency practices. To top it off, after spending 45mn on hold to schedule a time to collect my stuff from the PODS facility, I am told that they cannot make my container available to me on the date that I need (the only day that I can do it, because I obviously had not planned to take a whole day to drive, unpack, load, etc...) and that I must call back, and have to go through the whole process of being on hold forever again. This experience just keeps getting increasingly enraging. read more

What a disaster this organization is! We ordered a pod with no problems, had it picked up and dropped off (again not a problem) but when we scheduled our last pick up the driver came out and told my husband he couldn't figure out how to get the pod. We were told he didn't have the capability to get the pod. He told us to reschedule. The following Tuesday comes and I call to find out about the pod. Come to find out that the Assistant Manager (Mr Owens) who did not pick up the pod reported that the pod could not be picked up because it was snowed in. For whatever reason, I am not sure why he gave the snowed in excuse. Ultimately, I don't care what he tells his company but unfortunately we had to pay for it. We were then charged for the month without notice or anyone explaining to us that because he didn't pick up they assumed we needed the pod for longer. The rep Jill on the phone told us specifically "that Tuesday was too late to call and that we should have called earlier to reschedule". I asked why we would have needed to call when the driver was the one who couldn't take the pod. I was told that we should have immediately called. Jill, I would have called had I been told that I was going to need to call to avoid being billed because your assistant manager couldn't figure out how to pick it up. The guys who picked up and delivered previously where fantastic they had no problem getting the pod placed and picked up perfectly. They did not enter the billing information correctly so did not take the payment when they should have, so claimed they could not deliver the POD, then this caused an extra month of being billed for storage of the POD, due to their mistake, when I repeated pointed out their mistaken accounting methods, they told me I was rude and it was my "fault" that there was a problem not theirs. I would not recommend this company for any reason what so ever A resolution is being processed. read more

Horrible company - do not use. They were fine on pick up and storage and granting access to the container while in storage. Except, and a big one, they forgot to add insurance to the original order, even tough it was in the quote initially given. Then, they refused to add it and said it could be added when the unit was moved. On the move to my new location I has given three quotes in five days, with an $800 difference among them. And they refuse to insure the move. Like many companies nowadays, half their people on the phones are utterly clueless as to policy and procedure. read more

Worst possible service ever. Customer service people aren't really the cream of the crop. "Cordelia" couldnt even explain why there was additional charge when i closed out the acct, especially since they deliver it to me, I had to go pick up my belongings at their facility. She then cut me off and transferred me to someone else when I questioned her. Forget about the added costs that "forget" to tell you about. What a scam. read more
