After trying salon after salon, reading reviews. Searching and fell into this place by chance after the other two I called were booked. The look is clean and modest. Aren't those always the hidden gems? Here is the review: 5 star Atmosphere:The staff is friendly and they are heard laughing, so they enjoy working with each other. Soothing music playing and two TVs. Appointment: No, walk-in. Tech: Tammy Costs: Very, very, reasonable. $30s, $40, $50s. Service: Dip with Tip and Pedi with massage. Experience: The pedicure first, the chair was very comfortable, the basin was clean, and the massage remote wasn't difficult to set. For the step up from a regular pedicure, I received the foot pumice, with care and attention to detail of each nail. Did I mention that they have leg support while your foot is serviced! The scrub scent I chose was Jasmine, she scrubbed and rubbed, and my legs are smoooooth. Next, was the massage, it was not rushed, and it was excellent legs and feet. Let's not forget the cream with the warm (not burning) wrap. Relaxation level: 100%. DIP: Done perfectly, yes I said per-fect-ly. My shape was almond. No grooves or dips, no hang nails, no color bleed onto my skin around the nails. Side note: I was so relaxed from the pedi, I was almost falling asleep as she did my dip. I have been to other highly-rated salons. Not sure how because with my too-long to-admit years of getting my nails done, I do not see all their hype. With others in the area, I can't say I have been impressed, yeah I liked it, it was ok, or no to the no, no. This is the first place that I did not feel rushed. I come here for gel pedicures and they last. I bring my mom who has dementia for Dip and they are patient with her and make sure that even if she's fidgeting she's comfortable and that she leaves with beautiful nails. read more

I just moved back to town and I used to go here years ago back when it was V&A. They did amazing. I got a gel fill and they were fast, but paid attention to detail, and gave me exactly the manicure I wanted. They followed the picture I showed them exactly. I've been to this nail salon before never had an issue, but this time i booked through yelp and in the messages i stated that we needed full set ACRYLIC but when we got there they had an attitude and said "next time you have to tell us acrylic" they said we wanted a regular mani. If I could give negative or zero stars for this place then I would definetly do that! I got an acrylic set with one color and 4 designs. I got it for New Years two days before the Saturday of December 31st. So that would be Dec 29th..While waiting in line for a table at texas roadhouse two of the nails popped off. Ths next day a third one fell off and the next day after that a fourth nail fell off.. I was so lividly mad I called the next day they said they would fix it for me and then an hour later a fifth nail fell off, I never went back because I didnt want them to deny to fix them because many were off even though I did nothing rough to them at all. I didnt gk back because I didnt want to get in a fight to defend my hard earned $50 for less then 48 hours of "nailtime". Never again, please no one go here. Trust and believe when I tell you I would have rather gave my $50 to a garbage can because thats where the nails ended up. read more

I've been looking around Frederick for a place that has the right balance of clean, good, and reasonably priced and I think I've finally found it. I walked in without an appointment and they were immediately able to take me for a gel polish manicure. There was no one at the front desk when I walked it, but there were also only three people working at the time. Even so, I was greeted right away. I like that the color wheels are right at the front desk, so I could make my choice immediately. The salon is very clean and organized and calming. I was offered water as soon as I sat down and was given my own individual bottle. I'll be honest: I am SUPER picky about my manicures. I have often gone to get a manicure and then taken it off hours later or the next day because I thought the polish job was bad and that I can do better. My manicurist, Tina, did a beautiful job on my nails that I'm supremely happy with. She asked me if I wanted my nails filed and how much. Before she even applied the polish, she made sure there weren't any ragged nail ends from the filing. She was careful and thorough and wrapped the polish around the tip of the nail. The coats were even and matching, so there wasn't any weird terracing effect and no thin spots. She made sure I was happy with the color on the first coat and the last coat. My nails look GREAT. read more

I'm really sad because until February 15, if had nothing but great experiences at this nail salon. I love the way the lady at station 1 (don't know her name) does my eyebrows! And everyone is so friendly- when you walk they immediately greet you and give you a water bottle. I went on Christmas Eve for a quick eyebrow wax and they were giving gift wrapped Asian cookie boxes to customers. So sweet! Except that on my last visit, I picked up infections in not one, not two, but three fingers. I went to a doctor after finger 2 started swelling with pus and he confirmed I have an infection and put me on antibiotics. I've been going to nail salons since I was in high school and I've never gotten an infection!!! I guess now I have to listen to all those magazine articles I've read advising to take your own set of nail tools. I guess cleanliness isn't a priority here. read more

This is a shady business and all of them are overly rude I went in for a fill and to have 3 nails fixed, I showed her the design I wanted and as she's doing my nails I'm telling her their too thick and uneven she's saying no their not and as she did the design I already see It's not what I wanted and I told her it doesn't look like the picture and I'm pretty sure she was rushing because I was her last customer which is still no excuse to mess up my nails then she's not telling me how much anything is or what might be extra and I asked her the price and she's ignoring me trying to get me to give her my card to just charge me without telling the price and once she ran my card she tried to hold the Receipt she needed me to sign and cover the price with her hand saying I did my best, $65 for a mess!! And not to mention a nail popped off soon as I left ! The money is not the issue, I want what I paid for. I called in the morning asking for them to just take the nails off and give me a refund or a new set but they wanted to charge me to fix my nails and they were very nonchalant even after looking at the mess she put on my nails I had to dispute the charge with my bank and still go to another shop and pay for them to fix my nails NEVER AGAIN ! V & A is the best Nail salon in Frederick! This is my go to nail salon and I absolutely love it there. I have been going since I was in high school and have never had a bad experience. I used to get just pedicures, but now I get gel manicures as well. I have had just about everyone who works there and have never been disappointed. All of the ladies are very professional and do great work. Van is my go to now (just one of my favorites there so I like to be consistent) and she is AMAZING. I love how she takes her time and puts me first. She is just very passionate about her work, cares for her customers and does a great job every time. read more

I was actually pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was given its a run downish strip mall. I waiting longer than they told me but i was getting a pedi and it was fine. They offered water and treats. Massage was great and prices are great. Would def recommend. They also have a chair for kids. read more

I do not recommend V and a nails, I had a gel manicure and regular pedicure the work was amateur not crips and clean, I was not satisfied with my mails I had areas on my nails where the polished pooled. The place was dated and didn't look very clean. I would not recommend v and a nails. read more

I called a few places with high ratings on yelp. This was the only place available for a walk in at 430pm on a Wednesday. The location there me off but I was willing to give it a try. Gotta say, this place did and AMAZING job. I got an acrylic fill in with gel polish. They have tons of gel color options. They did an incredible job at the fill in. I can't remember the woman's name who did the fill in but she went above and beyond what I expected. Perfect shaped. Perfect length. Clean facility. Very calming. Really nice spa like atmosphere without feeling too uppity. 5 out of 5!!! read more

BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!!! It's terrible. I'm not even giving it one star But I didn't have the options not too. Let's start from their overall customer service and their professionalism is just plan awful. I came in for Mother's Day to have a full set and pedicure done. Which I had a appointment for 11:00 and I was not seen until 11:45 then lady who started on me was rushing and I told her I didn't like what she did and how the shape was and I even try and show her a picture of what I wanted and she said okay I'll fix it for you but you need to go and sit down and I take my next customer and I do for you after her and starts laughing I said no it's not funny and she said she has a appointment and I said I have a appointment too and I haven't even got my pedicure yet. Then she goes okay I'll fix for you after going back in forth a couple times. She goes to proceed and they still look awful at this point I'm like it is what it is and I ask to speak with a manager and their response is she out of the country and we don't know when she'll be back. So at this point I'm figuring this is why they are being so rude. I just decided to pay and leave. As a the days went by and continuing to look at my nails and I'm like no I needs these nails off they look terrible. So I call and request to have them off and my money back. They said no refunds and argued not even to redo them. So I reported them to the police at that point the agreed to take and redo but made me come back another day and which I did and didn't see me again and they said they were busy and they have no time. They proceed to do this 3x and was just playing games. So they were reported again and I received the girls license number who did my nails and I reported her license. In all the years I have had my nails I've never dealt or with people like that or experienced this in my life. All I wanted to do is fine a new place after relocating. Worse decision ever!!!!!! The paradise mural behind the pedicure chairs is very pretty. I get my waxing, pedicure, and manicures there and Diane is the best. So glad I found her again! read more
