First time I came to this salon I loved the service and the look of my nails. Second time I cannot say the same. The service was great but when I left this salon my nails had bubbles all over. Went in to get them fixed, and unfortunately the results weren't any different and this time the polish just started coming off. They left the previous color and doubled the gel polish which made it impossible to take off. My nail turned super brittle and weak. Hasn't even been 2 weeks yet. read more

This nail salon is the most recent in a list of new to me nail salons that i've been occasionally frequenting. We (SIL, her daughter and I) were there right around Christmas, and understandably they were very busy. I called and booked an appointment probably a week prior but they do have an online portal that you can set up your own appointments if you wished. Because I was trying to book 3 appointments simultaneously, it was easier for me to call and talk to someone. I got a phone call the Wed before my appointment to see if we could move up the appointment by 30 mins due to their scheduling and we were happy to do so. The salon was clean, and well managed. There is a check in process where you check in via your phone number. The check in area is by the front window to the right -- pretty easy to miss if you were not looking for it. The customer at the register waiting for check out pointed out the check in kiosk to me. There were many technicians on that day (probably because well Christmas). We were able to pick out colors fairly quickly, slightly confused only because the bottle of polish I picked was labeled gel and I was there for a regular pedicure.. so not sure if the bottle was really a gel polish that they utilized for my regular pedicure or was this a different bottle? After some discussion about regular polish (the child was getting a child manicure not gel.. so we needed to figure out what polish we could pick from) we were quickly led to the pedicure area to soak our feet. They quickly came over to grab the child for her child's manicure but she is only 4 and really wanted to do the manicure with her mama (very understandable), so they let her sit in the pedicure area -- this was pretty early on so we were a bit concerned that they wanted to separate the mom and daughter (again, we're at Christmas so.. slightly understandable they wanted to get the manicure out of the way but also, not sure that the 4 year old should be separated from her mama). Pedicures done, we were transferred to the manicure area, they didnt really have a spot for the 4 year old to sit and wait for her technician to do the mani and when asked if they could do both mama and child's manicure together, they were told that the child would be taken care of later... They ended up doing the child's manicure on Mama's manicure station (with a different technician) while Mama was getting hers done (thanks for working with us, but i think this could have been solved by the appointments getting staggered -- remember I said i booked via phone so the person taking the phone call could have easily moved the child's manicure down by 30 mins in order to accommodate the pedicure timing). The technicians did a great job with the child's manicure as well as the adult manicures (tho the child was pretty rough with her manicure and she had chipping on day 2 and required some touch up at home). They only take Mastercard, Visa and something else that is not AmEx only and tips should be given in cash or you can venmo the technicians. We had a pleasant visit and assuming my mani and pedi hold up, I will probably frequent this salon as I've had a pretty good experience with them thusfar. read more

Today my 16-year-old daughter and I went to this particular nail salon located in Urbana, Maryland to get her nails and toes done because she wanted to look nice for her prom later in the evening. Before I took her to this location, I called beforehand to make an appointment and make sure that I received the actual price upfront and beforehand for the services my daughter wanted. From my experience with dealing with nail salons when I go with my wife things can get very tricky and somewhat deceiving, so I made sure I asked what the prices were up front. I was quoted $70 for long French manicure acrylic nails and $50 for French pedicure toenails. I wrote down the details and the price at that moment. The total quoted was $120 which compared to other establishments still is very expensive for this suburban and country like area. Once we got there at 11:00AM we ended up waiting over 3 hours and a half to have just those 2 services I described above performed. The shop did not even seem as busy to justify the 3 and a half hours wait. Once I received the bill due at the register to pay for my daughter's services, I was now quoted $150. I was in shock because the original price I was quoted was $30 less. The cashier told me that my daughter asked for or accepted other services however when I turned to her, she told me no she didn't. My daughter told me that she felt overly pressured and tricked because they were recommending many add on's and using high pressure tactics pushing her to accept things she did not understand but never told her that there would be an additional charge for the add-ons. I called the manager afterwards and explained that I and my daughter felt taken advantage of and wanted a refund of only the $30 I felt I was over charged. The manager told me to bring my daughter back so she could remove the gel on the nails because the gel was extra. Imagine telling your daughter or wife to do this and having to find extra time in your day to go through something like this. I felt this was horrible manager to customer relations because I went as far to get an actual price before the work started and I explained when I made the appointment what exactly I wanted my daughter to have and how she wanted her nails and toenails done. I feel this establishment cheated me and my daughter and took advantage of the fact that she is a minor and didn't understand that any further recommendations and add-ons were billed extra. They used high pressure up-sell tactics to push expensive add-ons to boost their profit margin and increase their revenue at the customer's expense. I will never return to this business, and I am contacting my bank for a refund of the $30 over charged to my credit card. Make sure that you get the actual price for the service or services you want upfront and agree to this price firm set in stone before you allow them to perform any services on you or your daughter. Imagine how much more a business is getting away with by overcharging and swindling every customer or every other customer all day long using these tactics. The money adds up tremendously to benefit this shop. Businesses that do this are very unethical. read more

I'm not one to leave bad reviews but my experience here was far from the best. I was recommended this salon thru a friend so decided to give it a chance. I called made an appointment same day which I was happy about showed up for my appointment at 3:30PM was greeted which seemed the owner and then I waited . 4pm came around and still wasn't seen until "Pencil " called me over. The moment I sat down the vibe was off, he seemed mad and annoyed really. Kept quiet until he would ask me questions . I let him know I had Gel x and design but was just looking for Gel X Ombre effect with the color blue . He then asked me what shape and I said well in Cali we call it ballerina but not sure what's it called here but willing to look over the sets they have to decide . He seemed annoyed by that. I tried to look past that so still keeping quiet even though at this point I'm extremely uncomfortable. He begins to have trouble getting the Gel x nails to stick and I can see him getting frustrated even more . By this point it's 5:30 and we haven't even started the ombré effect just barely applying the nude color . Then the ombré effect starts with a sponge and the color , I was very confused with this as I explained I have only seen techs use the spray bottle to do ombré effect he told me to be patient and trust the process . There was no ombré effect happening and it started to look like a sponge streaks of blue down my nail at this point it's 6:20 and he knows I'm upset . I've been sitting for over 2 hours and have been in hostile environment with "Pencil" . When what appears the owner comes to his station and is like "pretty nails , you like? " I responded " no I don't , this isn't ombré and I've been sitting for hours now. Pencil is upset from my response and the owner responds "What did you expect " I was applaud that that would be there response when customer satisfaction is what they pride themselves on. I said I would pay and just leave but Pencil upset says he will take them off if I'm unsatisfied and I agreed . I asked for a solid color blue to make it easier and he was rough with my hands at this point , visibly annoyed and pissed . He then asked me "how often do you get your nails done ?" I responded "every 3 weeks " and he said " and you don't know what your nail shape is or what ombré is?" Me applaud respond " I'm sorry why are you asking me this and being aggressive with me " ,He responds " you don't know about nails & your trying to trick me " he was so rude to me from the beginning and got worse as I didn't like his work. He didn't even care at this point 6:40 he was sloppy with his work and didn't even let me fully dry before telling me to wash my hands and pay. I was so uncomfortable at this point I just paid and left without washing my hands . I can't believe a establishment treats their customers like this and honestly let their workers make customers so uncomfortable. I will not be returning and hope that management does something so this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

This nail salon is among the best that I have gone to. They are clean, beautiful decor, more than accommodating with their scheduling, thorough, and attentive to your specific needs and preferences.
