They recommend coming back every 6 months for touch-ups but I managed to come back after 8, even though my hair definitely was in need of a trim at that point! Tammy and co. are super professional and attentive to all details of the straightening process. The process itself is long (~4 hours) but they help make the time go by with their efficiency! And since I'm relatively new to Austin, I turned to Yelp for help in choosing that professional help :-) I absolutely love the cut and style Lynnie gave me, and, as I said, I felt like her task was extra challenging because of all the chaos I wreaked on my own quarantined head, ha. So I'm extra impressed with the end product! This cut is super cute and stylish and attractive and it feels very "me." I love it! Also, I love that Lynnie asked about how I style my hair at home, and maybe bc I'm lazy or maybe I'm impatient, I usually just let it air dry. So she gave me tips for styling it that way and then put me under the dome dryer to mimic the air dry so we could see how it looked after. I really appreciated that extra touch too-- it was so helpful to me since I feel like I learned some new tricks that I will actually carry out bc they're easy and don't require me to do anything time-consuming. Also, I felt very comfortable with Lynnie. In addition to clearly being so talented at her craft, she's a warm, friendly, all-around nice person who I enjoyed chatting with while she was making over my head :-). I immediately went back to Mint and am lucky enough to work with a stylist who has been there as long as I've been going there-Macari is amazing! This is a solid place with friendly people and very talented stylists. The older building provides high ceilings and the white and mint paint job presents a cool and fresh space. It always feels open and airy, which is especially important during this pandemic. The Covid protocols here are outstanding: everyone is wearing masks, stations are spaced out (it seems that every other station is empty to ensure social distancing), and the place is spotless. The owner of the business, Melissa, is always so friendly and kind. She remembered me after I hadn't been there in several years. It really felt like going home to return back to this amazing place.
