I like being able to call and get my hair braided a day or two later, there's usually availability and I usually decide kinda last minute. Ola is very nice and the staff works fast. I can pretty much get in and out with enough time to get stuff done over the course of the rest of the day. I've gotten braids in many cities over the years and the prices are fairly reasonable (with or without hair) considering it's in South Austin. read more

Ola is amazing caring and professional. I took my five-year-old daughter to her to get cornrows. She did not braid too tight she was very gentle with my daughter, and even laid her baby hairs .My daughter has been getting many compliments and has a new self-confidence about her hair. Long overdue! Ola, the owner, is SO sweet. She has a very fun & relaxed personality but is also very professional and SUPER knowledgeable of the industry. Her staff is also super lovely and good at what they do. It was $300 to get my box braids installed, which, considering takes about 6 hours due to the density of my hair, is actually quite reasonable. I've asked other salons which are closer to me how much it would be and I've been quoted at as much as $700... no thank you. I am partial to box braids because of how long & flowy they are, but I'm excited to try sew-ins there. Despite how far they are from where I live, I will definitely continue to go there to experiment with new styles. They have TONS of colours to choose from, so it's a great place to go to try something new and fun with your hair! read more

Ola and her staff were professional and courteous during my time there. This was my first time get hair added to my own hair as I have very long hair to begin with. It took longer than anticipated but I was not in a rush the day I went. When I arrived to my appointment, Ola informed me that she was out of my color hair to add for my braids. So i had to go get my own. Thats why I couldn't give 5 stars because of the non communication. How ever Ola was ablw to braid my hair which I was happy about cuz she is the owner Her braiding was just right for me. It was not too tight and she left my edges out as I asked. (This review is from a previous time and not the date posted) I requested cornrows but what I got were Ghana braids. I don't like the way they look and they are too tight! Also, there were other people in the shop getting their hair done and the owner, Ola, went from someone else's head to mine which disgusted me because they usually don't shampoo hair here and she did not wash her hands after touching someone else's scalp and hair and then touching mine which is VERY unsanitary! That is a great way to give someone lice or a contagious scalp condition so in addition to taking down the too-tight Ghana braids, I had to wash my hair when I got home even though I had already washed it before I went to get it braided! Also, she makes you sign a paper while your getting your hair done that says you will let her know within 48 hours if something is wrong with your hair or you want something corrected but one time when I was getting my hair done, I pointed out to the stylist that something was wrong an Ola got mad and argued with me (and she wasn't even the one doing my hair). And, even though I made the appt with Ola over the phone, she was not even in the shop when I got there and neither of the two women working when I arrived for my appt knew who I was, that I had an appt or what I had made an appt for!) read more

I wish I could put no stars. I've been here more than once and each time I try a different braider and different style to no avail. They take my money, tell me they can do the style and then blame it on my hair when the style is not right. My hair was braided two days ago and the braids are literally unraveled and coming out. They are all different sizes. There are spots on my edges and throughout my entire head that were never even braided. I finally got tired of losing money to them so I messaged the owner Ola and she told me she could not help me until I told her I would be writing a review. She then called and offered me %10 off of my next style that would cost over $200. I did not agree so she offered half off of a style that cost $120 which is half of what I paid initially and I would still be out off $220 plus the $60 for a style that I didn't want. I asked if she could just reimburse a percentage of my funds and braid my hair down for a sew in and never got a reply. Extremely Un-empathetic and unprofessional. I would never recommend this buisness or go here again. There are 2 different businesses that always give me great styles that hold everytime and they are significantly cheaper. I'm from Ohio and here for a wedding and wanted a simple twist out. I was on the way to get my hair done and confirming the location Me: hi I'm your 930 appt and wanted to confirm your address the owner answered: " yes that's right but ,,,ahhh I was thinking about you are you adding extensions? Me: No what twist out with extensions cost $45 Owner: well I never done a twist out on natural hair Me: well what hair do you do a twist on Owner: weave mixed in natural, I can try it's called a watermelon Me: your website said twist out not watermelon, please cancel my appointment What type of service is that? You have natural all over your business but say you don't just do natural hair! Came in today to get the perimeter of my box braids fixed by a prior salon. Mrs.Olas salon is so clean, professional and loving. Great atmosphere and energy. She is the most loving person ever. She cares about your hair, edges and making it healthy. Although she didn't personally do my hair, her braider did amazing and Mrs. ola watched the whole time and checked in to see if I was satisfied and I tell you, satisfied is not even the word. Second time coming here, never coming here again. Since they decide to just upcharge you whenever they feel like it. For the style of medium box braids, regular length, I came here August of 2018 and I paid previously $180 for, to pay just yesterday $200 for. Yes, the same I desperately needed to get my hair done, so I was in no mood to argue. But it's just plain unprofessional. Also warning to people w/ natural hair, they have no care of damage to natural hair, nor do they know how to properly handle it. My previous visit, I thought they were being rough, because I thought I didn't blow dry my hair enough. But yesterday I took my time to blow dry and detangle my hair, yet they still felt the need to add more heat to "detangle" my hair. It should have been obvious to me since all the workers there have short damaged hair. I wear braids not only as a style, but as a means to protect my hair. This hairstyle I bought is not worth the money I paid for, and I recommend everyone to do proper research before letting just anyone do your hair. A mistake I wish I wouldn't have made. So I didn't look forward to sitting in a chair for four hours just to get my hair braided. But all right and her girls made it doable the braid in my hair so fast they had tagteam and knocked it out like nothing I have the car as it is and I got medium to small size box braids and they had to be done in about three hours her pricing is reasonable the only thing that I didn't like it they had requested from the beginning for them to leave my edges out being that the last time they braided my hair they did it so tight that my edges broke off and then when I came back this last time they didn't do it Until I reminded them in by then it was too late so I ended up only having edges on one side of my head and having the other side look a little crazy I called all her and she offered for them to fix it with no extra charge or anything like that but by that time it had already been like a week in my hair and naturally came out enough to where I felt comfortable all-around a great experience. I highly recommend they are actually right across from a good place to get some drinks as well. read more
