I feel bad giving bad reviews, but I hate shady companies. I contacted them because there was a leak in the faucet of my sink. After asking some questions to get a better picture of my situation, I expressly asked how much everything would be. He responded an hourly rate of $130 (he didn't say any other fees or that the minimum would be for an hour) Fast forward to the date they were supposed to come to service it. Appointment was at 12. They arrived about 1:30pm. The plumber goes in the bathroom and I hear him say "fuck" several times. Uhh okay? lol he then comes out a couple minutes later and says he doesn't have the correct parts so he has to come back tomorrow. I said okay, but please let me know what time ahead of time. The next morning, I get a text that they are outside my door. Ummm, why didn't they give me at least a heads up they were coming? I had both of my kids, and I was in the middle of a teleconference. Anyways, the plumber took about 10 minutes, and he just yelled "done!" And walked out the door before I could even come out from the other room lol. Okay.. The next day I got an invoice for $303. I immediately emailed the owner and said he quoted $130. Again, he did NOT tell me ahead of time that the price he has to order was "x" amount of dollars and the minimum hourly rate was $130. He literally only quoted me "hourly rate of $130" and that's it. He emailed back explaining the part he needed to order was $132, plus the $130 as a minimum. I ended up paying it, but I wouldn't be so upset if he was just straight forward with me from the beginning on the price, especially since I asked straight out how much it would be. read more

Contacted them first for a leaking shower in my cottage.. Unbelievable, they sent out Kai the same day!. Kai was very professional, respectful and neat. Did a great job! Oh, oh....2 days after that I find out I had a leaky toilet in the main house. They sent James out early the next morning... Again, James was very nice and replaced a difficult Kohler flushing mechanism (some type of canister thing). Plumbing Works (PW) made me feel special and important. I recently had a serious clog where the water in my pipes wasn't draining. I've used my electric auger many times before, but this time, after feeding it about 15 feet into the pipe, the steel line got stuck--and I couldn't get it out. It really freaked me out because I thought I now had a major problem on my hands. The next day, I was advised to call Davey at Plumbing Works. After explaining the situation, Davey told me he would send one of his guys over to take a look. Within an hour, his technician (I believe his name was Isaiah) arrived at my home. In less than 30 minutes, he removed the stuck auger line and cleared the clog. He worked quickly and professionally, and I was genuinely impressed. I was expecting a huge bill since plumbing jobs usually isn't cheap, but when I received the invoice today, I was pleasantly surprised. I've dealt with many plumbers in my experience as a past property manager and as a homeowner. This was my first time requesting for a proposal through Yelp. I submitted a request with 3 different plumbers and only two responded. Of the two Davy was actually willing to give me an exact quote. Keep in mind I knew exactly what needed to be done and what was involved. This isn't one of the jobs that needed to be inspected first. He gave me a quote and I further insisted on sending him pictures just so they couldn't say there were any surprises. He sent one of his guys as promised the very next morning and got the job done. Funny story is I was waiting for his guy to arrive. Now you typically expect a plumber to roll up in a loud work truck, possibly a little sloppy in appearance and rough around the edges. Well to my surprise I get a call asking if it was ok to park in my driveway, 1 pt. I say sure. Next I peek out to see that he was at the right house because I didn't even hear him pull up. And, guess what I saw in my driveway...? A Prius...10 pts! I have to admit that just broke all the stereo types of plumbers in my mind. Dillion was polite, quick, kept a clean work area and was in and out in no time. I paid by check and he was off. I didn't receive an invoice, but nor did I ask for one. I knew my check was proof enough and this island is way too small to burn any bridges. Davy and his crew are awesome! My rental property management company always sends them & with emails to both places & texts I get same day service when I have huge problems. It's a super old building so you can imagine the issues... Though different guys have done service calls, everyone has been clean cut, friendly, helpful with tips on how to maintain the pipes. Equipment is always clean and maintained well. If they run late or get lost (which is easy since GPS doesn't show the right info for the building), they call immediately so I never have to worry. They also stay long enough to really check to make sure the problems are gone before they pack up. Davy also texts me after the job is done to make sure everything went well. I can't say much about the negative reviews since I don't know how much the repairs cost as it's part of my rent. But communication has never been a problem in the 4 times I've had to call for service. read more

1 star may be a bit much. "Dave" came by in mid March to do a plumbing inspection. An inspection report was required for my homeowners insurance. I allowed a stranger to go through my entire house to inspect my plumbing. While doing so, he was continuously on the phone. When done, he shook my hand, gave me his business card and said "ok, I'll contact you later today with the billing info, and the report." Til now, yes, over 2 months later, no report, no bill, no email, no call, no coming by - NOTHING! I never heard from him. I left messages for him in April. In May, his phone voicemail was full and was not accepting messages. He has my ph no., email address, and physical address. Yet, he made no attempt to contact me. No clue why???Unacceptable! Another plumbing company gave us a quote that was $3,000 higher Plumbing Works. So we went with the owner of Plumbing Works. The other company came and did an estimate and never got back to us until we called them. The quote was $6,900 just to install our walk in bath tub. They are very thorough.
