My hot water went out on Friday night, so I was scrambling to find a plumber to take a look at the hot water heater on Saturday morning. After calling several plumbing companies with no luck, I reached a plumbing company (which I wrote a separate review about) that agreed to send someone out that afternoon. The technician arrived around 4pm, and after spending - max - 5 minutes "diagnosing" my hot water heater, he told me that the problem could be a variety of issues, maybe a broken gas valve or potentially a faulty burner assembly. He then went into detail about how, because the labor to fix a burner assembly would be "almost as expensive installing a new water heater," I should just go ahead and get a new one installed. WHAT?? That's what you call a diagnosis of the problem? He then went on to quote me a fee - for labor, pulling a city permit, and working in the attic - for over $1,000 - and that DID NOT include the cost of the water heater itself (which was covered under warranty). I was left with the feeling that I might be getting conned, so I called Plumbco to get a second estimate. If I was going to pay that much to get a new water heater installed, I wanted to be sure that I wasn't getting swindled. Gary quoted me a price comparable to what the technician from the first company quoted - BUT, his price INCLUDED a new water heater. If I supplied the water heater myself and only wanted to pay for labor to install? Gary told me it would only be about HALF the price the other company quoted me. Gary then started asking me what my issue was. After I explained what was happening, he told me that, unless my tank was leaking, I didn't need to replace it with a whole new one. He had a good idea of what the problem was, and agreed to come by Monday to fix the water heater. He called on Monday morning to confirm he had the replacement parts, showed up EARLIER than originally promised, and fixed the problem in under 45 minutes. The best part is, it cost me only about 1/3 what the other company quoted me. Gary and one of his other technicians were polite, friendly and professional. They wore booties in the house, and Gary even made sure to clean up all the dust and debris that had floated down from the attic. To top it all off, Gary even stayed around an extra 10-15 minutes, and then went back up into the attic to double check that the water heater was, in fact, working properly. Recently had a bad experience with Nick's Plumbing. So I called Plumbco and they sent out Zack and Gary. They came on time and called about 15 minutes before they got to my place. They even had shoe covers, a plus in my book. They fixed my leaking tub in less than an hour and even gave me helpful tips on where I could buy some fixtures. We had the best experience with plumbco today! They came out to replace my kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. It was not an easy job due to the design of my kitchen but they didn't give up. Once they were finished I asked if they could look at my daughters sink which had been clogged for a while. They had it cleared within minutes. We had a drain clog from slime buildup coming from the drainage line in the air conditioning unit into the sink drain. This was the second time, so I not only wanted the clog removed but better access so I could snake the drain myself in the future. The previous plumber was less than honest about installing a cleanout - instead he drilled a hole in the pipe and then glued a piece of pipe in the hole he drilled! We needed a new plumber and checked a lot of reviews. Plumbco came out quickly and was incredibly professional. They had been working all day under a house and apologized repeatedly for being sweaty even though I don't think they were that dirty. Plumbco does not charge for estimates and they tell you directly what the price will be. I believe their pricing is fair for quick response quality work. read more

I called Plumbco based on positive Yelp reviews. Everyone was right. Gary is quick and gets the job done at a reasonable price. He quotes the job right after he understands what the customer wants to accomplish. It was a non-emergency and we agreed on a 2 hour window 2 days later. He called half an hour into the scheduled time window and let me know he'd arrive in 15 minutes. The hot and cold water pipes coming out of the wall under the sink that are fitted with shut off valves were old and rusty. Since I wanted to change a faucet, I thought the pipes could possibly break off during installation. I told Gary that I wanted both pipes and shut off valves replaced. Gary and his assistant James (also a master plumber) were in and out within about 20 minutes. They were neat and cleaned up any mess made. I am extremely pleased. read more

They were fast and efficient! Got the job done a little after an hour after I called.

We had a clogged drain that made the washing machine, the pool backwash, and a toilet drain (all on the same line) overflow. I tried fixing it myself by renting a snake from Home Depot, but couldn't. Plumbco was called because of very good online reviews. I explained to Gary what the problem was, and the three places where the water had overflowed. He said it would cost $196.00 to open the line. That sounded like a lot, but we needed it done. Gary and his partner used a big snake to open the main drain, but the 10-foot stretch from the dishwasher to the main drain remained closed. He said opening the main line usually fixed the problem, but he would need to get a different snake from his truck to finish the job. He said he would do it for an additional $98.00. I objected because we had agreed on a price to open the line, and the dishwasher drain was part of the problem I had showed him in the beginning. I said if his initial quote had been almost $300.00, I would have looked for another plumber. Gary argued that if I had to rent two different snakes, I would have had to pay more. While this is true, he is the professional and quoted a price that I agreed to. He already had the equipment and just had to walk 30 feet to his truck to get it. Even with using the second snake they were there for just 20 minutes. I would think being paid at the rate of $588.00 an hour would be enough for anyone, let alone $882.00! Incidentally, I paid $196.00, as agreed. Update- Gary B. messaged me shortly after I posted my Yelp review. He said, "It is so sad that people like you have to make bad reviews because you could not do it yourself and don't want to pay a professional." Actually, I did want to pay a professional, and good money at that! My review is a factual and honest account of my experience, which is what Yelp is for. Since Gary could not challenge what I wrote, he attacked me instead. Now, that's sad. 2nd update- Now Gary B. tells me he is notifying my employer about my review. Not sure what he thinks that will accomplish, but I don't care for the attacks and threats. Beware, neighbors! read more

I've used Plumbco twice. The first time was fine. The second time, they were a no-show during the appointment window of 10:00 - 12:00 with no phone call or anything. I called them around 12:30, no answer, and left a message. No one called me back. Then I called back around 1:00 and was told that the technicians were running late, although I'm not sure why I wasn't notified of that. Since they still couldn't get there before I had to leave at 2:30, we rescheduled to Friday. I was told that there were no other appointments so any time works. I scheduled it to 8:30 AM. Again, 9:00 rolls around and I call to see if someone was still coming. I was told that the technician had left about 15 minutes ago and should be here shortly, which he was. I would have liked a call beforehand when they were heading to my place like most other companies do. It's just nice to know when they have left and are coming over. I will say that the actual technicians that came out to my place were knowledgable, speedy, and courteous. So no issues there. I just wish they were better at communicating timing for appointments. read more

The water pressure in our kitchen sink and front bathroom sink was really low. I feared a leak. I first called John Moore Plumbing and the guy they sent out didn't really test anything and proceeded to tell me that buildup within the pipes was the likely culprit and that I would have to re-pipe the entire house for about $12K. After reading several reviews here on Yelp, I decided to call Plumbco and made an appointment for them to come to my house and give me a second opinion. Gary and one of his workers came well within the window they told me they would arrive (between 10am and noon). After telling Gary my experience, the first thing he did was unscrew the faucets and cleaned out the filters on the tips. Once he screwed them back on the water pressure was back to normal (actually above normal) on both sinks! I'm so happy there are actually honest professionals out there like Gary and his company who don't try to gouge their clients. read more

They were quick and got the job done. They were courteous enough, too. I was a little surprised at how expensive it was. We had a clog and it took about 20 minutes to get it cleared and cost close to $200. This may be standard for the industry, so I am not sure I can fault them without getting a comparable quote. But in the end we got everything cleared out quickly and got our sink back. 3 stars means A-Ok on yelp, and that seems about right. read more

I have used Plumbco many times over the years. Gary can do just about anything. When he does it he does it right the first time. His work has been excellent and he leaves the work site cleaner than he finds it. I have also been using him since my house flooded during Harvey to repipe the entire house, install plumbing fixtures, make a couple shower pans, and repair any plumbing issues we found during the repair process. Everything he has done has been perfect. I wouldn't even consider using anyone else. I noticed that there is a complaint about his fees but he is very fair in his pricing. I have found that his fees, for the high level of service he provides, are very reasonable and I am very happy I was able to get him to help me with my repairs after Harvey. Just look at all the 5-star ratings he has and you will see that I am good company with the others who recognize excellent service when they get it. read more

I've used Plumbco in the past, and I've had good experiences with them. But Gary exceeded my expectations recently when I couldn't be at home for our appointment. Luckily my contractor was there and let Gary in. Gary called me to tell me one of the problems I had was a missing part on my faucet that got lost when our kitchen cabinets and countertops were replaced. He said we could order a new part or replace the faucet. Since we had been without a kitchen for 4 weeks we wanted it fixed ASAP so Gary went to the store and called me with pricing on various faucets. I picked one out over the phone and he installed it. My mother passed away and her Houston house had to be left unoccupied. When I heard there would be a "hard freeze" in December, I called upon Plumbco to shut off her water supply to protect the pipes from bursting. Plumbco took advantage of no one being around to look over their shoulder. They did not shutoff the main supply and sure enough, the main line froze and ruptured! When I called Plumbco, they told me they were too busy to fix the leak and would be out in a couple of days. When I told them that was not acceptable, they told me there was nothing they could do on the weekend and they would reimburse my $89. Guess what? I haven't seen a nickel of that reimbursement. As it turns out, they did shutoff a ball valve outside the house (a 5-second hand twist operation) and claimed that was "good enough" for $89. When I informed him that was not sufficient to prevent water freezing, he told me "they do not know how to prevent freezing" by shutting off water at the main. I couldn't believe a so-called plumber would say such a thing. Bottom-line, no matter what defense Plumbco wants to use, they were unsuccessful at preventing the very thing my very financially poor family paid them for; preventing the pipes from bursting. According to the next REAL plumber that came out, Plumbco just didn't want to dig the sediment (dirt) out of the main shutoff valve box (necessary to shut off water) an easy way to pocket our money. read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They came out to my house to fix a leak in the pipe between the house and the meter. 5 months later it started leaking again. I called my regular company out and they replace the part that was leaking. My regular plumber told me that Plumbco put a rubber cover and a gasket over it and that was not a correct fix. My plumber also told the pipe is made of copper and did not need to be changed like Plumbo told me that it needed to be and was quoted over $1400. I called Plumbco back and spoke with the owner, Gary Bloch, who was very rude and took an attitude with me from the beginning and did not even let me finish my sentence. I told him that I was not satisfied with their service and he started getting aggressive on the phone so I hung on him. It's amazing and shame that we have owners who operate their business this way. I am so happy to have access to a reputable company other than Plumbco. If I could give them a negative rating I would. Stay clear. read more

Plumbco sent out James when I called one evening around 7pm. My renter's were complaining the water was not draining all around the house. Toilets overflowing, tubs and sinks not draining. The dishwasher was also overflowing. I had someone previously in the day come out and tell me it was going to cost me a few thousand since it seemed the main line was broken. Was going to require digging, possible breaking of foundation to find the problem. I decided to get a second opinion and Plumbco serviced my call less than an hour from my call since they were already in the area. All James had to do was unstop sewer line from the clean-out and unstopped kit sink drain disposal side due to too much food at once. My bill was only for $286 and they took my payment over the phone. Rapid trustworthy response. Will definitely consider using them again in the future. I was very satisfied. My renters learned their lesson as well since they were the ones left to pay the bill for their bad habits. read more

I have to say that I have never written a review before today but needed to share my experience with Plumbco. I had a few leaks in my upstairs bath that were coming through the ceiling downstairs in my living room. I had several plumbers attempt to repair but there were still a few leaks that could not be found! After searching for a different and reputable company in my neighborhood Facebook group, I found Plumbco to have the best reviews and decided to call them. I am so glad I did! Plumbco came out to my home to assess the problem. The friendly office staff called the same day to schedule and just a couple of days later they returned to fix the leaks. Then after just a few hours everything was repaired! They were prompt, knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and honest. It has been about a month since Plumbco helped me with a major plumbing issue I had in my home, and I can't say enough about what a wonderful company they are!
