Playland pool
Rosie C.

We visited Rye Playland pool on Saturday, Aug 9 around 2:30 PM. Parking was straightforward and we bought our pool tickets online, which easily transferred to our digital wallet. We brought a wagon and cooler, only to be told at the entrance that wagons, coolers, and outside food aren't allowed, so my husband had to haul the wagon back to the car. Inside, the space looked nice--clean and not overcrowded. There were plenty of families and kids, and we were able to grab a first-come chair and settle in. The wristbands scanned smoothly, and the upstairs area was pleasant. The downsides started early and persisted: there were frequent whistles for even small actions, like a child grabbing a parent's neck or a quick jump from the edge. Floaties and foam toys weren't allowed, which felt limiting for kids who just want to splash around. Every hour, five lifeguards led a safety check that paused activities for about 10 minutes. While safety is important, the interruptions made it feel less relaxed. We ended up spending $51 with parking, which isn't terrible for a family outing, but the constant restrictions and noise of the whistles dampened the fun. This probably isn't the best choice for families with small kids who want to unwind; it might be nicer for adults or older kids who can handle stricter rules. If they loosen a few rules and improve signage about permitted items, it could be a better balance. Suggestions for management: Clarify what you can and can't bring (wagons, coolers, toys) in advance. Create a kid-friendly zone with a few allowable toys and more space to play. Soften the whistle/discipline rhythm or offer warning periods to avoid constant interruptions. Consider more flexible options for families while maintaining safety.

Mini park, boardwalk and beach, amusement park, restaurants, ice rink and more... though it may not open the amusement park in 2025 due to budget concerns. Also watch the speed traps on the way in, saw a few people get ticketed. $20 to park between Memorial and Labor days. Big lots. Otherwise open to the public to walk around the beach/parking but amusement park looks a little desolate.

My nephew came down with my sister Fourth of July I wanted to initiate him into going to Playland. It's a big nostalgia for everyone in the family we've been coming for 40 plus years. Came early the definitely had parking situated before the crowds. Line was long for tickets and thankful a new window opened right when i Got here i got to beat the line. Unfortunately I wasn't aware that majority of the park was disassembled. All adults rides minus a handful and the rest was just the basic kiddie rides. I'm glad i came early because my nephew was able to get on rides without the crowds. We had Nathan's from the food truck. Very slim picking for food options by this time park started filling up with that rachet young crowd smoking weed in front of the kids no respect. Leaving took forever just wasn't worth the headache but we kept the memories alive.

The actual bay!

I like this place I've taken my kids here twice. Our first trip we did both meaning we did the amusement park then went for a swim. I really can't recall the first time because it was over 2 years but I do remember the food was the only downside it wasn't that good very bland and expensive. On this second occasion which was yesterday was a pleasant experience this time we only did the swimming experience and we did the beach and pool combo which remind you that this is a bay and not the actual ocean so with that said of course the water was calmer but wasn't that clean so we only spent minimal time there. Now on to the pool section which was nice because they had a kiddo swimming area with nice sprinklers and a decent size shallow pool and they also provide life vests for the kids. Then off to the adult pool which only went to 5 ft. And I'm only giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 because one of the lifeguards hit me by accident with the cord of his lifeguard equipment he did apologize tho once I brought it to his attention. Otherwise everything else is pretty clean the pool water and it's a decent size pool for everyone of all ages!! Pricing is reasonable too we paid $65 for 5 people for the beach and pool combo wristbands that last all day plus $10 for parking so that's $75 for a day of fun for five people. Last side note yes you can bring your own food and drinks just no alcohol allowed.

Came here for the season kids Halloween thing. Brought back memories of camp outings here as a kid. Line was pretty fast getting in. Price was reasonably and, tbh, I prefer kid rides to "thrill rides" for adults. It was a morning well spent, and my son had a lot of fun, especially on the kid coaster and with the face painting. Playland is a no-frills classic, and a little saner than Coney Island.

So the bottom line is this, it's a place you go to once a summer. Playland's been there for 1 million years. In the Park shows that. It's a lot of original rides and some new ones. The original rides really need a lot of love and care. The Dragon coaster, which is the main event, really needs to be sanded and painted. Generally speaking, they could easily spend $5 million upgrading the older rides. We went Tuesday at 6 PM and the Park was 80% empty so we didn't wait on any lines. If you go during prime time, expect to wait up to 20 minutes for a ride. That really cuts down on how many rides you're going to go to. If you decide to go on the water ride to get extremely. The staff are interesting. They appear to be mostly high school kids and 20 yr olds. Some of them are more invested in their job responsibilities than others. Lines ***** Parking $$$ Admission $$ Food $$$ Fun ***

One of the rides

Playland was very fun this summer. I love the beach and the pool it wasn't too crowded and very clean. Only half of the rides were open but it wasn't their fault... I believe that plans with the developers fell through.. they said that they'll fix it next year. We have fun every year at Playland and next year will be great too. I highly recommend.

I gave it 2 stars but 2.5 would be closer to my review. It's a small park located in west Chester NY. The rides are a bit on the older side but still not bad considering. It's 20 a person and 10 for parking on weekdays which overall is a great price. The reason for the low rating is the age of the park, the size of the park, but more importantly their guests. Expects large groups on every ride and expect them to "save spots" turning a 10 min wait to a 20-30 min wait. It consistently happens. Otherwise....if you're in the area check it out...it's something to do.

Great park. Beginner level for a amusement park goer. Great staff, great options and kid friendly.

We arrived at 10:30, which I would recommend based on crowds. My 4 and 5 year old had a good time, though I'd say this spot is optimal for slightly older and above. There were just a handful of activities they really couldn't do. That being said, I saw a bunch of toddlers who were also having a blast. The namesake slide was closed all morning, which was a bummer, but I'm also not sure my kids would have actually done it. The trampolines, acrobatic swing bar, and multi-level play structure were their favorites. I agree that some people working here were more happy to be there. The waiver is long. Try to do it ahead of time.

Great experience at Air Riderz Adventure Park in Port Chester…read more Large covered parking lot shared with other stores and shops nearby. We used a Groupon and had no issues redeeming when visiting on a Friday morning. We were instructed to complete the waivers at the kiosks near the entrance. We did have to purchase the mandatory socks which was $18 for three (3) pairs. Before proceeding to the play areas, we put our things in the little cubes they have for storage...i.e. shoes, bags, etc. Keep in mind these are open cubes which anyone can access. I never felt unsafe in leaving our things there...but as always, there is a risk. It was not very crowded on a Friday morning at around 10:30am (they open at 10) so it was a pleasure navigating the space with minimal crowds. There are lots of areas to enjoy for both adults and children. The main area has trampolines as well as some interactive areas where you jump to tap buttons and two video screens where you mimic the movements on screen...both area great. There are a few obstacle courses: ninja, balance beam, and swing pit. The basketball area is also great with a cushioned surface, two hoops, and targets where you can throw balls at. There are two huge slides in the center which are fun. Finally, there a "rock climbing" area with a few different climbing options. You must have the "climb" option added to your pass in order to use it though. You will be belayed during the climb. Be mindful that the gripped socks provided do NOT offer the best grip while climbing in my opinion...climbing was much more difficult that I experience in traditional rock climbing places that provide rock climbing shoes...then again, maybe it is just me. There is a food area which sells some snacks: soft drinks, chips, candy. There are also a few tables nearby where you can eat. Overall we had a great time here...the space was very clean and well-maintained. All staff we encountered were very nice. Be sure to check ahead if visiting with toddlers as there are some restrictions on which areas they are able to visit.

We came here for a classmate's 7th birthday party. Upon entry, a party host inquired which party we…read morewere attending, crossed off my daughter's name, and asked what her ice cream preference was. Straight off the bat, it was very organized. We arrived a few minutes late, but we didn't miss much, as they initially started out with the kids playing in the soft playground area. The room has a rock wall, soft gym (no shoes) with ball pit, and a bouncy house. There was a host in there, watching the kids. There is a small area for parents to sit. The venue space is pretty big. It definitely looks like a warehouse that they kind of mismatched things together, to make it an event space/family amusement space. The look is odd. Some of the party rooms resembled wedding reception halls, with the kind of decor they had. I mean, the kids didn't notice but I'm sure the adults will wonder why, as we did. After the soft playground, the kids got to go on some of the rides. They had all the kids line up in an orderly fashion as they all calmly transitioned from one space to the other. They had fun driving the bumper cars. Parents were able to ride with smaller children that could not drive in their own. Our party was filled with 6, 7 & 8 year olds, so most were able to fit three kids to a car. They also have a Free Fall ride that a lot of the kids liked, and a more intense, Super fly ride, that I was surprised my kid even went on. The hosts definitely let the kids know that it's a scarier ride, without scaring them. They simply asked who's brave enough to try out Superfly, and the more reserved kids got the gist, bowing out. After the rides, they went back to the soft playground, where parents recevied coffee and the kids played until it was time for lunch. When the hosts gathered the kids for pizza and ice cream, they brought them to the party room, and immediately gave them all hand sanitizer. Everyone had pizza and lemonade, already waiting for them at their table settings. There was plenty of pizza, so the parents were also served, if we wanted. The birthday boy got to make his sundae first, and then they served all the kids ice cream with whipped cream. This part kind of grossed me out. The hosts initially had on gloves when serving the pizza, but took them off when serving out the ice cream cups. Soon after, I noticed one of the hosts with whipped cream on her finger, which suggested that her bare hand was coming into contact with the whipped cream coming out of the can. She kept serving the kids the whipped cream, and then proceeded to lick her finger, and go right back to serving more whipped cream. She licked her finger a second time, and gave the whipped cream can to the other host. I was so disgusted, but relieved that she had already given my kid the whipped cream prior to the first lick. They should be using gloves the entire time they're serving food, especially with this being flu season, covid still on the loose, and the additional threats of RSV, and the dreaded norovirus. If they're handling anything someone will be putting into their mouth, they should 100% be using gloves the entire time. These kids are already germ factories. I don't want to have to worry about getting sick from a party host. After lunch, the kids were given game cards to use for 20 minutes of arcade play. Most of the games reward the kids tickets to redeem for prizes. We stayed even longer than the 20 minutes, and we're not rushed at all. Some of the arcade games are pretty old and beat up, as were the bumper cars. A lot of the items they have looked like they were purchased secondhand from closed down carnivals, and the like. Looking at their older pictures, it seems their former location was filled with carnival rides and games. They've definitely downsized, but it also looks very disjointed inside. They need to ditch the catering hall tables, chairs, high cocktail tables, and silver wedding-style decorations, and put in more kid-friendly furniture, that fits the vibe. It should be nice it they had more seating for parents in the soft playground area. As I said, the kids probably don't even notice how odd the layout and decor is. They'll have fun regardless. You can visit on your own if not attending a party. It's around 20 dollars just for the soft playground, rides and rock climbing range from 4-7 dollars, laser tag is 10 dollars, and you can also purchase arcade cards in several denominations. After the arcade, the kids were able to count their reward tickets and redeem them for prizes. They still have the archaic way of earning and counting tickets. The tickets are paper and you have to bring them to a machine that counts them, and provides a slip with the amount of tickets available for redemption. The prizes aren't that great, unless you get loads of tickets. Our kiddo still had a good day, and I told some other parent friends of mine about this place, so I may return.

Barely any signage, even in front of the parking lot and in the entry way. I've never seen less effort put in to highlight a business. Going inside, it's not the most organized in the world. Have to kind of figure out where the cashier and everything else is. Kids play tunnels are already if quite a bit dated. Nice bouncy house at least. Rides in the back looked cool even if nobody was there. Games were a disgrace, as multiple different machines didn't function correctly. That aside from the crane machines, which were unwinnable because of when the claw grips on (it doesn't). Ticket-to-prize ratio was pretty scary, even by today's standards. Know there is laser tag however my son is too old at this point. Place seems geared primarily to events, however even then, why would you pick here other than location? Light Eyes P's review was spot on: Chuck E Cheese or Billy Beez is a better bet for kids, and Dave & Buster's is a better bet for adults. Laser tag or a few carnival rides isn't enough of a draw; if you want the latter, Rye Playland is better. I appreciate what they were trying to do here and I'd rather they be here than not, however this is not what it could be for the $.
