Ahhhhh , what to say about this place .. ?? I was really looking forward to my visit , but I must say I was a little disappointed. Parking is a bit ridiculous , takes forever because they make you wait in line until people park and gather their stuff out of the car etc . In order for you to park next to them . = VERY BAD PARKING SYSTEM . Lockers .. they have plenty of lockers but only 2 machines to buy them and the line takes forever . They have private cabanas , but I feel like they are private simply because you have shade , there's nothing so private and special about it , could use some extra care . They should also have a section reserved for ADULTS ONLY , because we were trying to relax in the lazy river and instead got mobbed by screaming children who are afraid of the water and to many people at once . I understand it's a public place , it's summer , however would it be a lot nicer if they could have an adult only part of the park . More appropriate for the people who want to relax . Updating my review since SplashDown Beach called us at the last minute to let us know they had a cancellation and now had a cabana available for us. Thank goodness they did -- because the picnic area they had offered as a substitute was nowhere near as comfortable or private as the cabana. It wasn't the same value at all, and trying to pass off a free public picnic area as comparable to a private cabana (especially for a birthday package) felt super shady and not at all what someone expects when booking a special event. You can really see the difference in the pictures. Also worth mentioning: their only offer to make up for the mix-up was a free pizza and chips -- maybe a $50 value -- which felt like a pretty weak response given how much a cabana costs ($180) vs a public table. And just a heads-up: the food packages they offer when booking aren't that great. You're better off ordering directly from the menu and using the 20% discount instead. Despite all these issues, our group still had a great time -- but the booking experience and how they handle problems could definitely be improved. read more

Splashdown Beach is a lovely water park in Fishkill and I can't believe that I didn't know about it until now. Feel free to view my review on the disaster that is Six Flags water park, and this is everything that Six Flags isn't. It's clean, fun and staffed by nice human beings. There were plenty of staff and it was very well run. The baby area is adorable and there is something for everyone. We did mostly the wave pool and larger slides but spent the whole 8 hours. They have a really reasonable season pass that I'm going to purchase for the rest of the summer. We got a lounger and it was great for a hot day because the chairs are covered but there is plenty of seating. They also have cabanas for larger groups. read more

Man oh man has Splash Down changed. Back when I started coming they only had the kids pirate ship area and 3 water slides; feel like I should be sitting in a rocking chair thinking about it. I even remember when they put in the lazy River. Now it's all grown up with an impressive variety of huge water slides for thrill seekers as well as more play areas (3 total) for the kids. The young kids play area is particularly well done. Lazy river is an oldie but a goodie, even if the design from a boarding/offboarding and walking path perspective is outdated. Prices have grown up to as is expected. Came on Labor Day weekend which wasn't the greatest decision, however the whole damn summer slipped by and they close up on 9/5. Lots more decor around between palm trees and sand. My wife complained there wasn't enough shade--which is true--however it was more than they ever had before. There are now a number of food places however they gouge like crazy. $6 for shitty pizza and $5 for water at a local water park is just plain stupid. Didn't try to eat here with my son as he has a severe dairy allergy, and the reviews online around this did not inspire confidence. I would recommend bringing food/drinks instead, rules be damned. We ended up waiting to eat and then drove down the road once we left (good halal food nearby). Oh well, at least the souvenirs were surprisingly well priced. Back to acting like an old man: nobody watches their fucking kids. It was absolutely ridiculous, with teens, pre-teens and even elementary school kids running amuck while their parents sat on their asses and did nothing. Splash down is not shy about enforcing rules and there's a ton of staff around, so not sure why they don't require everyone under 18 to be with an adult for crowded days like this. It makes things much harder and more stressful for the actual families who are visiting. Or maybe cap attendance so there is such a crunch of so many people to the point that some are just camping out in the ground because there are no chairs/tables left (and there was PLENTY of chairs/tables). All in all my 3 star rating is nostalgia driven. I don't mind paying so much with all of the upgrades, however I wish we got a better experience for the money. Will be back next summer to give it another try as my son gets older, and go on a weekday perhaps. read more

I am so happy I took the time to come here. It is a smaller park. Do not come here expecting six flags level or even splish splash. We were able to do all the 6 rides that were open (2 were down) and the lazy River within 4 hours and some twice. But I loved that. There is also a wave pool and a regular pool which the kids spent most of the remainder of the time in. Additionally they have a kiddie section that I think is adequate if bringing a smaller child here. The staff was great. Very attentive. Very helpful. Very kind. Very shocking from most teenagers/young adults who work in theme parks. The grounds were very clean including the bathrooms. As I say on the beach area watching the kids in the wave pool, I swear someone came by at least every 15-20 min to pick up trash and sweep the sand.....yes sweep the sand. The only disappointment I faced was the ticket buying process. I purchased online. The first time it stated error and to close browser and start over, do not press the back button or I could get a double charge. I waited 10 min, checked my email and when nothing opened up s a new browser and purchased again. This one went thru and I got my tickets. Welll my email them at the same time showed 2 sets of confirmations with separate numbers. I emailed them immediately. In the park the next day they refunded me...everything but the online transaction fee. It was only $3 but I was annoyed because I should not have been charged anything for their system error. Also the fact that they charge over $5 for a bottle of water. But they did have hydration stations around the park. read more

I haven't been to Splashdown in years. They have made a lot of changes since I've been over 5 years ago. We went on what we didn't know was "National Waterpark day" but they didn't have any extra activities going on. The admission line to purchase tickets & bag check moved pretty quickly. We arrived at 11 am, an hour after they opened. That was a great time because we were not disturbed in the lazy river & was able to go around as many times as we liked versus when they became crowded after lunch time they would only let you enjoy going around the lazy river once, return tube & get back on line if you wanted to go again. They have a regular pool & a wave pool. The wave pool only makes waves about every hour or so & you can hear people chanting, "we want waves, we want waves!" We rented a "luxury lounge area, " which comes with 2 lounge chairs & a table. There are also cabanas for rent as well. This is an extra price with your admission ticket. The lifeguards are very attentive to doing their job & the safety of the guest. Shout out to life guard Eddie! Food prices are a few dollars less than other waterparks. I have been going here for the past 9 years. Yes I keep coming, only due to proximity to my home , and not owning a pool . NOTHING IS CONSISTENT. 1. The lifeguards / staff at the front : every year they add a new restriction ... they refuse to let you on things with glasses or sunglasses unless it's strapped . Most new lifeguards insist like it's their glasses or they're going to get fired. The tubes are so heavy and they make people carry all of them except one ride . 2. You CANNOT BRING OUTSIDE FOOD INSIDE. ( because then they can't make money off of you . - hoping you buy there ) unless you have a baby stroller which is how some moms get in with a ton Of stuff . 3. They search your bags and make you toss out food or leave it with them . So don't try . ( it makes me uneasy they have their hands in my purse ) you must park where they tell you, except I have handicap parking they don't care I have to drive down the gravel with rocks hitting my car , but they don't care . 4. Due to there being no inside smoking area even though you are outside , the front and the parking lot is filled with smoke butts . 5. THEY HAVE SO MANY BEES THEY DONT HANDLE IT WELL . 6. Some days they decide kids can't jump into the pool... other days it's fine . 7. Since Covid they don't stay open as late which is BS as the park is always packed at closing they would make more money .... Instead they close at 5 - the time most adults get out of work so no 7 pm anymore. 8. The employees sit in the bathroom stalls on their phones . 9. This year I got a rash , on a day I. Was there I still have it, where I didn't smell chlorine - and I always do smell it . Wondering if they have lowered the levels ... Overall you should go , but be prepared with these crazy rules . Pretty small water park--not that many water rides as you'd expect. Hours are 10am-6pm. We got here at noon, and had plenty of time to explore everything for a few hours. Was worried we wouldn't have enough time, but the park is not that big. All the rides are light in terms of the adrenaline rush that you'll get. Get here on a weekday. A Monday was perfect, as we didn't have to wait in lines for the rides. It gets crowded on the weekend, so be prepared to spend a lot of time waiting in line for the rides. $99 season pass and $129 season pass + perks. All day locker rental is $12 for a small locker and $18 for a big one. Free parking. You can enter and leave and re-enter the park at any time with a special hand stamp. I visited this water park today. It was very clean a little smaller than other water parks but very comfortable and cute. There are lots of food options as well but of course you know when you're at a water park the prices are more so be mindful of that. Parking was free. It's also very crowded even on a weekday like today when I went at 12:00 it was packed. Bare in mind that being it is still summer time a lot of camps will be there, so be prepared for that. Also if you want to rent a large locker it is $18. My family and I really enjoyed the wave pool and The lazy River and the pool itself and also the slides. Spent the day at this water park. It was a lot of fun for the kids and us adults really enjoyed the wave pool. It was incredibly crowded the day we went. I think the feels like temperature was about 102F. They have lockers that you can use to store your stuff. They need more change areas. The wave pool was nice but because of the combination of the heat and all the people, it felt warm rather than cooling. They also lacked enough life preservers for kids. We went to the area where the kids to get in and wade around the water while climbing off of structures and the train area. The kids really enjoyed that. We saw this huge waterslide that I was not bold enough to go near. If they are open this summer, I plan to take the kids again. Hopefully, it won't be as crowded this time. read more

The facilities are absolutely gross not sanitary, food overpriced and cold and very unorganized with the 4 water rides they have as individuals consistently ran up and down cutting those waiting. This year, we chose to get weekday season passes after 3 years of going once a year. We live about an hour from the park, and have going weekly this year. My 9 and 7 year olds love this park, and so do I. Beautiful landscaping, very clean, free parking, efficiently managed, and a good assortment of things for my kids to do, along with friendly staff and pretty decent food offerings (although they are pretty expensive). If you go early in the day in a weekday, you'll get to enjoy a lot. Yes, there will be camps - I like to call ahead of time on a Sunday and ask what day that week has the fewest camps scheduled, as this is helpful for us. The only real complaint is that you can't bring your own snacks or drinks - most parks do (we are also season pass holders for Legoland New York, as it's only 20 minutes from our house, as they let you bring your own food. Heck, even Disney lets you bring your own food!). The souvenir cups are a decent value for us, though. Overall, we feel like this has been a great summer investment for our family and plan to get Weekday season passes next year, too. Keep on splashin'! read more

It's a fun place for the family. It is pretty small for a water park but it does the trick. Camps frequent the park making it a little more crowded and longer lines. Getting the whole park done is possible in only a few hours. The staff at the food service booths, not inside, are not the friendliest and don't order the bubble teas because they can't make them right. Overall, the kids loved it and it's worth the visit. Cute local water park if you go after 2 it's slightly discounted. Not as many slides as some of the bigger parks but I think it is worth the price and a nice way to spend the day. This park seriously needs to stop letting people in at a certain point. It was so overcrowded. Slides had over an hour wait. I've never seen so many people crammed into a pool. Just a matter of time. Before someone drowns or is seriously Injured. Letting that amount of people in is hist reckless and dangerous. The bathrooms were a mess. 2 were not flushing and had unspeakable things piled up to a the seat. It was disturbing. Waterpark- Everything was FREEZING to the point that made me upset and ruined my moment. Wave pool was small and not strong enough of waves. Most of the rides are not thrilling for teens or adults maybe for kids it is though. They could extend there open time to 8pm or even 7:30pm instead of 7. Customer service- people were overall quite nice but my boyfriend got stung by some sort of bug and although they gave us ice and sting cream it seemed as though no one really cared. Food- Semi expensive food but food was just good not delicious but good. I do have a tip for the waterpark on the souvenir cups if you put the price up for 14.99$ and free refills you are most likely to get way more customers then when you have only the 99 cent refill option if you wish to keep that the you may do better business making the cups 11.99$. I bring my brood of boys here every summer. A quick breakdown: Cons: It's a race against every friggin' camp in the surrounding area - this makes the lines much longer. Food is expensive. Small. Can get so crowded, people trip over you. Tons of (albeit cute) toddlers running around who could seriously use a swim diaper change. Expensive for the small park that it is. Pros: Fun, clean (they really try hard!), friendly staff, fun slides and rides, great for all ages. Small & easy to navigate. Great music. There you go. Go early or go late and enjoy. And watch out for "Baby Ruths" floating in the wave pool. read more

This place is insanely small but it's a nice park to have in the suburbs. It only has about 7 major attractions, wave pool, large donut slide that you see when you come in, lazy river pool, some speed slides and a shallow swimming pool (3.5ft). Arrive early and you'll have a great time but after about 1pm it does get insanely crowded. You do get some ghetto visitors from neighboring areas such as Newburgh and Poughkeepsie so be weary of crowd. I saw at least two incidents where people wanted to beat up staff members just because they lack home training in civilized society. The park offers gazebo rentals for about $100 which are nice if you want to spend the extra coin but they do have very small shade tents with two chairs for reserve for about $45 which didn't seem to get as much shade as I would have liked to see for a "paid" spot. Full gazebo's are really nice but for $45 the shade spots are not terrible for two. The park is kept really clean however my only complaint is that all the pool water could probably use a more powerful, better, filtration system because the pools did seem to have cloudy almost borderline dirty water. Don't get me wrong it wasn't blatantly filthy but the water everywhere did start appearing cloudy because of the volume of customers. The wave pool for example had water that tasted like salt water so keep your mouth closed. It's not supposed to be salt water but it may taste like such because of the amount of sand that makes its way into the wave pool from people walking from the sanded areas into wave pool. Overall not a bad place at all, just don't come with huge expectations of a Six Flags water park or other mega park. Arrive expecting a small water park where you'll have some fun and leave refreshed. read more

I was looking for something fun to do in Mid Hudson one summer. This place charges $30 per adult and $26 per child (not determined by age, but by height). They do not have many slides and most of them were for kiddies. If you are a grown-up, you would get bored with this place after 30 minutes. For little kids, this place would be fun. Compared to all the water parks in Florida, this place is way too small and expensive. That being said, I give it 2-star for being one of a few places where you can kill time in summer in Mid Hudson. read more

Today was a wonderful day to checkout a new water park, with the Boss, Dee and family , For a small park, it has a kick. LoL So today started , by hanging out in the wave pool. That can knock you on your butt, with the power it compacted,then we ended up, at shipwreck bay, the boss loved this one, all you saw him, was diving and running about every chance he got.
