I'm like the Mommy Poppins of events and venues for a day with the kiddies. Recently I did some research on spray parks throughout the tri state area and came across this treasure in Bay Shore ! This is a great idea for a DayCation on Long Island. You get the feel of being outside of New York in Suffolk County. We had such a beautiful day here. We spent our Friday afternoon basking in the sun and ocean breeze over at the Bay Shore Marina. My daughter really enjoyed this little spray park. It features 2 small water slides, a tipping bucket, spray cannons and splash pools. Great for the tiny tots and children up to ages 10. Adults can even get in on the action here. There are several lounge chairs and umbrellas to relax under while supervising the kids. Arrive early or close to closing to enjoy. The staff are professional and really monitor the children and surroundings. They even reminded me that there was no eating on the premises. They run a literal " tight ship" here. Lol. There's also a cute little snack bar called " Sea Toys" next door near the bathrooms. Ship Wrecks Cove is located near the entrance and it's 15.00 for admission each person plus parking fees. 50 Cent each hour to park. There is a beach, playground, basketball court and pier to enjoy while viewing the Ocean candy. We will definitely be back!

My 2.5 year old son had the best time. The half an hour drive was definitely worth it. The water temperature was just right for a hot day. It gets pretty crowded, we were able to get chairs and an umbrella when we went 10:30 am on a Sunday.

Excellent place to bring the young kids. Parking is $.50 a hour and $15 to get in for people 3 and up. If you're a Town of Islip resident it's free. They have about 20 tables with umbrellas so if you want to sit you have to get there early. Bathrooms are easily accessible and very clean. The only thing I don't like is kids aren't allowed to wear puddle jumpers or life vests. I understand it's against code but some kids wear it for security purposes.

A lot of fun for young family. Slides aren't to much. After a few minutes you are comfortable with water. Bring cash for food. Parking good.

I had heard about this sprinkler park from others and decided to take my son on our way home from being out east.

It is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Two hours are enough to experience it all. There is a splash water park with many slides, a refreshment stand with good snacks, a botanical garden, a walking trail with several benches, a gazebo with a bench underneath, and plenty of good spots to picnic. Today I saw several banana trees, a teenage girl posing for photos in her sweet 16 ball gown, a protective swan father guarding his two cygnets and life partner, an amateur fisherman doing a catch and release although fishing is forbidden in the lake, and some youths joyfully playing soccer on the grass. A local resident told me that last Fall he even saw a baby fox wandering around. Geiger Park is a must visit for those who admire nature and seek adventure. It is also a great date spot. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Today, one staff member offered me a free potted Zinnia plant, but I politely declined.

And here we are, at Splish Splash, a place I took a road trip too when I lived in Queens. Then it seemed like it was across many states. It's funny how you perceive things as a kid versus as a grown up. Now this place is no more than 30min from my parents, but I still haven't been here since becoming an adult and I'm glad we did. The place has changed so much. Better layout. More family friendly. We rented one of the luxury cabanas for the entire day. It cost $1200 and allows 32 people, but holds 40. You have to buy additional wristbands at $20 a wristband. You also still need to buy tickets. The sales office was wonderful to work with and answered all my questions and we got the group rate for our day at the park. As much fun as we had, and as great as the space was, which we plan on doing again, there needs to be more support in the Cabana areas. At one point security asked one of my guest if they should be there, and when they showed them their wristband they continued to follow up with the cabana staff, meanwhile, people kept coming into our cabana trying to use the area for themselves. Where was security then? The food and drink service also lacked. We were instructed to order off the QR code which were on signs throughout the cabana, but half of them didn't work. We had to wait over an hour and a half for our food and some people didn't get their drinks. Once I expressed how long we waited, and how we felt overlooked the staff gave us a few additional canned margaritas. By this time it was late afternoon. Most of had to leave because the kids were exhausted. Moral of the story: this place has had a major glow up, I'm hoping that the staff and service follow suit as they continue to grow. This is a piece of nostalgia on Long Island and I would hate to see it go away anytime soon.

They also of course had huge slides for adults. I couldn't find areas to eat at maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. But yeah, just go on a weekday because on a Saturday, the lines were super duper long. The reason why I took off one star is because not only do you have to pay for entry into the park, but you also have to pay for parking, which is another $30 so altogether it was $60 + tax.

Far too many patrons allowing their kids to swim around in the hot tubs with no oversight or correction from the employees. Slides - the shrek slides were amazing, the trip to get there, not so much. You're climbing 6 flights of stairs on concrete and although we wanted to do this slide multiple times. We stopped at 3 because the concrete was ripping our feet apart. If we came back swim shoes would absolutely be necessary. Walking in general - there was only one walking liner, roughly the width of a generic bathroom mat, to walk on around the park otherwise you're liable for a fall. My daughter fell twice so swim shoes are 100% in order. Lockers - at $20 a pop you'd think you'd get something spacious but no. In the summer it's not that big of a deal but mid winter it was a hassle cramming 3 coats in. Waze pool - where are the waves? We got a few here and there but I was expecting more for sure. At least a section of time where we got some fun waves but it was just sporadic.

I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.
