Where I live (Babylon Village) has a very popular pool, but this is my favorite. It has waterpark-tier slides that are incredibly fun (and I'm old enough to have survived Action Park). The pool is very clean, and both of the times I've been there recently (including today) there were "possible thunder" closures, which is fairly standard for pools. I'm pretty sure I spotted a Town of Babylon SPF dispenser which is nice. There's also a very robust splash area, and what I think is a baby pool or kids' pool, plus several lap lanes with diving platforms. Another reason I like this pool a little better is because you don't turn blue and freeze to death with the bay breezes. I wish I could get here more often. read more

Bought the pool pass this past summer and it was totally worth it! This pool has specific areas for adults and children, even a small pool for the babies! If you get there early enough they have lounge chairs and they also have a concession stand with pretty good food! They have a ton of lifeguards on watch also! My son loves it here & I will definitely be buying the pass again next season! read more

Very nice town pool located exclusively for the town of Babylon. It has two awesome slides (48inch min), a large pool, kiddie pool and kid water park. Small snack bar and lockers also available. Plenty of parking. Costs 7 a head for residents but must bring ID for any adult. My only downside is no adult guests. Not even a limited amount. Otherwise I love this spot. Nice town pool for the TOB residents. This past summer, I signed my little guy up for beginning group swimming lessons (starfish class for age 2). In the group class, there were about 5 instructors which is nice. The water gets to 2 ft deep which is perfect for this age group and for splashing around. A great way to get your child adjusted to and comfortable with water. After class (approx. 30 min) we were able to stay and hang a bit longer which was nice. I know my son had a blast. I hope we are still in Babylon to take advantage of the classes next summer, and then my toddler will be able to take advantage of other amenities at this facility. Well it would have been nice if you could bring your guests with you who are visiting from another state, but well...i guess this what keeps this pool not so crowded. Came yesterday to purchase our yearly summer pass. Everything was organized and well managed. However, if you go online you will read how they require everyone visiting to wear a mask and yet some of their own staff weren't wearing one. Posted a video. Not a good look. read more

My family just recently moved to north babylon and everyone was telling us how great this pool was so we got summer passes. The pool really is great. One large pool and 2 baby pools, one with a play area, kind of like what you might find at a waterpark. The water is very clean. Now here comes the problems: 1. The bottoms of the baby pools are VERY rough. I know that most pools have cement on the bottoms, but this is ridiculous. After the first day, all 3 of my kids had missing skin on their big toes. After the second day, my son had missing skin and was bleeding on his hands from the bottom of the baby pool. I complained and I think other parents did too because the other day, the baby pool with the play area was drained and they were fixing the bottom. The other baby pool has jagged pieces of cement on the bottom. I got my hand stuck on one. If anything, GET YOUR CHILDREN WATER SHOES!!!!!!! 2. The lifeguards. They all look like they're less than thrilled to be there. They allow the kids to run ALL THE TIME. I have never heard them tell any child to stop. They make some people take off their shirts in the pool but others they don't. For what reason, I don't know. 3. The woman's bathroom. It was ok on the first day. After that, it has went downhill. The handicapped stall was clogged with toilet paper and poop. It reeked horribly like urine and the shower floors felt slippery, like they were growing algae or something. 4. They don't allow swim aids or floaties. I tried to enter the pool with my 4 year old daughter while she was wearing a swim aid. Kind of like a life jacket, but different. It's for learning how to swim. They told me she couldn't get in with it. But all the while, they're allowing other children in with kick boards and toys. They also seem to have no problem with beach balls and footballs. I almost got hit by a football today because 2 teens were playing catch in the pool. If it's not in anyone else's way, why should it be prohibited? It seems ass backwards. I am going to utilize the facility because I paid $150 for summer passes and I live just down the street but there is definitely a lot of things that need to be fixed. I know that no place is perfect, but these things are so easily fixed and I feel like the effort is not being put in. read more

Phelps Lane has been my family & my choice of a pool since we've moved to North Babylon over a decade ago. There are two slides for kids 48" or taller, and a neat little kids pool with a jungle gym of sorts in it. Nothing has really changed besides staff and some rules. My sister-in-law & the kiddies come from the Bronx and we all go together. Up until Friday (7/15) it's never been an issue for one of us (my brother, mother or I) to show our ID and that be enough for the group of us to pay our money and enter the pool...now they require every adult over the age of 18 show ID to prove residency. I understand, I guess...but why the sudden change? And honestly what's the big deal? 1.) If you're in a group with several people from the town and 1 person is an out-of-towner it's pretty silly to turn away a party of 8 ($48) for one person ($6)..and 2.) Why not just charge an increased fee for out-of-towners ($8 or something). I think that would be more reasonable. We ended up resolving the issue by showing a piece of mail with my sister-in-laws name on it, but that took us having to make a trip back home with toddler twins and a restless 10-year old all hot & frustrated. We were also pretty close to the front of the line, but of course by the time we got back there were no chairs, picnic tables or even a place to lay our towels down. My husband was there with our son and wanted me to bring my daughter (8.5 months) when I got home from work. He met me at the enterance and went to hand them $7 for me to enter although I would not be swimming. The woman said I am not allowed to enter without a bathing suit on? This was news to me and we both looked at her and said I am not swimming and she proceeded to tell us it is still required. Not understanding what the issue is when there is a parent there with a bathing suit on and going in with the kids??? I left my daughter with him and had to go home since I was not permitted in the pool area. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to that pool in the future. read more

First off, I wish I could give no stars, but wasn't allowed. My family and I decided to go to Phelp's Lane Pool on August 6, 2018 for my daughter's 2nd birthday. The pool had things designed for small kids so I was excited for my daughter to enjoy the amenities. When we got to the entrance, a female employee seated on a cooler politely directed me to the booth where another employee could assist me. The girl at the booth was rude from the get go. She rolled her eyes and just bluntly commanded "ID's!" Okay....I pulled out my ID and proceed to take out the money to pay for my party. She looks over at my husband and states that she needs his ID as well. He didn't have his ID on him as I was the one driving and our plan was to just go to the pool. I told the girl that he didn't have his ID on him. She just shrugged and repeated "I need his ID". I remained calm because I wasn't going to argue with her. I asked her if there was a different fee for someone that didn't have identification on them (like a non-resident fee). Again, she continued being rude and stated with an attitude, "No, but I just need to see his ID". My husband tried taking it in stride and said he would drive back home in order to not waste anymore of our daughter's birthday time. In the end, I decided that we all go and spend our money at the Lindenhurst pool where we got in with no problem and had a good time. The fact that Phelp's Lane Pool decided to implement a new rule (despite the fact that I think it makes no sense) doesn't bother me, it was more so the flippant attitude of that employee. She could've explained that these were new rules implemented by the park. I would have taken it with a grain of salt and made sure in the future that everyone in my party have identification. So, in case you go to Phelp's Lane Pool and encounter an female employee with brown, straight hair, parted in the middle with protruding ears, go to your happy place, have your ID and don't engage in her stank attitude. read more

We decided to go to Phelps Lane to use the pool as a change of scenery from using our own pool as I had relatives in from another country and two little ones ages four and five we thought it would be a good idea to let them use the slides. As we approached the entrance the young kid said we all need to show IDs so I showed my ID as a Babylon town resident and they refused to let them in because they were from another country, I am also a Suffolk county employee and show them my ID and they refuse to let us in but said try the main house with the real manager, so I did the same thing there and she told me to try Another park in Deer Park. So rather than except our money as there were eight of us they decided to turn us away. I will never ever attempt to go to the pool again never recommend it to anybody else to go there read more

My family goes to phelps lane pools only once in a while when our friends our there, and the only reason why we go is because of the slides!The bathrooms are disgusting (at least the girls bathroom is) and I am sure the boys bathroom is just as bad. When you go into the girls bathroom the smell just is.............. terrible! The showers are just so slippery before you even put the water on that if you were to take a shower you might slip. Now I have never taken a shower at phelps because the showers are #1 not cleaned and I don't know if it is not just me but i don't want to shower in an unclean shower. The water is pretty clean but other than that I would rather just go to my other town pools read more
