In plain view was a Park Police vehicle, so I felt safe. I also saw several people riding in a paddle boat. How fun! There are multiple clearly marked trails, which are great places to ride your bike or walk. There were several people feeding the ducks and geese in the lake, ignoring the signs that warn them not to do that. The two children's playgrounds are quite spacious, and leashed dogs are allowed. There are lots of picnic benches and huge tables. The restrooms have a lot of stinky toilets. Staff needs to clean them more often. Finally, BEWARE OF DEER TICKS! A few people said that they saw some, so bring some tick repellent.

There is a football field, tennis court and basketball court, but each one was empty today in the late afternoon on a weekday in early September. There is a gazebo with several benches underneath and a few BBQ grills beside it. There is also a kids playground with a slide and some swings. I also saw two chess tables. The restroom was pitifully filthy with lots of dirty toilet paper strewn across the floor. Chestnuts littered the ground as they fell off chestnut trees, symbolizing the start of Fall. Several people were sitting down, smoking weed under the gazebo although there is a sign that says no smoking or vaping in the park. Nearby the gazebo was an empty bottle of Hennessy that was lying on the grass. If I had been in a bad mood, I would have called 3-1-1 to report the condition of the park to the Town of Babylon, and I would have called the Department of Public Safety's 24/7 number, 631-422-7600, to report the weed smoking. Wyandanch Park, which is located diagonally across a middle school, has community activities during the warmer months. Despite its relative filth and some weed-smoking patrons, the park is not a bad place to relax from dawn to dusk.
