    Free fish ceviche
    Jose C.

My wife has been wanting to come here for some mariscos. They have to different entrance. One of the indoor dining area and another for the outdoor patio. It was a little confusing and wound up sitting inside. They sat us down right away. We started off with a michelada and some horchata. It took a while for us to get our drinks and a little longer to place our order. My wife ordered their ceviche tropical and I ordered their habanero aguachiles. These are supposed to be eaten with tostadas, which our server failed to bring. I had to ask him for some and had to wait a while for a sealed package of tostadas to come to our table. I then saw my server start washing some dishes. I think he forgot my tostadas at that point. It was a little frustrating because I couldn't really eat anything until I received my tostadas. The aguachiles were good and very spicy. My wife ordered their ceviche. There was hardly any shrimp and served with bell peppers. I have never in my life seen ceviche served with bell peppers. Yes it makes the dish more colorful, but it will also add an unwanted crunchy texture to this dish. It seems like it was used more of a filler than anything. Way to many vegetables and not enough shrimp is a big no no. Will without a doubt not be returning.

Horrible customer service, horrible food. I placed an order at 1 pm today online through their website and got the confirmation that it was ready. When I get there, they say there was no way I placed the order since they turned off online orders since the morning. Which she lied because i have the screenshots below. She then says I have to wait 2 hours for them to make it. I live 30 minutes away, I shouldn't have to go back and forth. I said whatever and waited those two hours for them to call me, I get there and wait an extra TWENTY minutes for them to give me my food. The juice from the tray was spilling and she just goes on to say i'll give you another bag. That obviously didn't help since ALL the juice came out, the tray was obviously broken. I waited 3 hours for dry food. No need to give this restaurant your business.

Now open. They have 2 other locations in Melrose Park and Addison

New location and they have 2 more in Melrose Park and Addison. The Longostinos plate was well flavored. The sides that came with it were a small salad, rice and fries. The salad was plain and I wish they gave a dressing for it. The fries were ok kind of over cooked and dry. The rice wasn't really flavored and tasteful. The star of the dish, Longostinos were small but had a good flavor to them. We order 2 soups, a shrimp soup and a seafood soup. I think the broth for all the soups come from the same stock pot and they add the seafood afterwards. The stock seemed flavorless like they just add water to the stock when they are running low. They do give you onion and cilantro to add to the soup but it still needed more flavor. The service was good and the waitress was attentive until she gave us the check. Oh this is a BYOB place but the charge $3.99 per person as a corkage fee. Just to let you know in case you bring any drinks, it's not totally free. The sign says now open so I'm not sure how long it has been open but I am hoping they work on getting their routine down to have more flavorful food. Or I could have just been in at the wrong time, I did go on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy.

We had children with us and asked for their menu items to come as fast as they could. However, the server was extremely short with us and didn't even bring drinks quickly. While the restaurant was not very busy, it too a very long time to get our food - especially one in our group who didn't get food until almost everyone else was done. The food itself was ok, but I would say that nothing was exceptional - somewhat bland entrees and lacking originality. Could be what we ordered...as I know many people find the food here to be quite good. The prices are reasonable for the area but I was disappointed with the general unfriendly service and time to receive food. I've been here previously and we had a somewhat lackluster meal that time also. The previous time, they were pleasant enough but food was only ok - entrees were not very hot when we received them. All in all, there are friendlier spots in the area.

Because Yelp doesn't breakdown…read morespecific ratings, let me do it: Service: *** Food: **** Overall impression: Barely **** There is a small warning at the end. I had their grilled salmon. It had a base of pureed butternut squash, a different temperature than the salmon, and the roasted/salted kale underneath, also served with pickled onion. It was fine. We had a small loaf of their bread as an appetizer, served with a goat cheese and a red pepper sauce (perfect spicing), also deemed very good. The hummus plate was also good. My partner had their eggplant dish, which she said was fine, not amazing, but good. Each of us, save me, had a drink (except me, the designated driver) of alcohol or wine. Also good to very good. I had their coffee, which (an Americano) was quite good. For a side, we tried their mac & cheese, which is mac and another pasta and cheese with panko, strangely delicious. I say strangely, because it looked pretty standard but the flavorings were good, and it retained its heat. This ran about $60ea (incl wine or liquor + coffee). Oddly, after decent beignets, I looked at the tab to find that a 3% surcharge had been added. I asked, Why? It was immediately withdrawn without explanation. I would recommend viewing their menu online to see if it fits with your budget and dietary desires. There are vegetarian entrees, and meat options (including an Amish Chicken half, which was rated good) that might suit you. It's good food. It is not totally amazing or exemplary, so no five stars. Would we go back? Maybe. Watch your bill carefully.

Mom tried the burger which was ok - nothing out of the ordinary. I tried the vodka pasta and added chicken. it was ok. The chicken was ok but not mind blowing. I feel the food was rather expensive at least my pasta which was $23 for the pasta and an additional $9 for a small piece of chicken so $34 for pasta with chicken which seems quite excessive. With tip and taxes $70 + bucks for two people with no appetizers, desserts, or drinks. Probably won't come back.

The meal started with complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered a mezcal margarita (fruta picanta) and my friend got a mango cocktail (mangasa). I liked mine a lot, my friend didn't care for the tajin rim on hers, and the waiter offered to replace it, but she stuck with it and liked it in the end. There were so many great sounding things on the menu, with gluten free and vegetarian options. We ended up splitting the calabaza- an acorn squash stuffed with mushroom risotto and also the wild mushroom tostada. The calabaza was great for winter, warm and filling. The tostada was lighter but really delicious, it was probably my favorite of the two. It was a great dinner, that I would definitely visit again if I'm back in town.

Thank goodness we had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server Meyah was super friendly. We started with a few cocktails ..one being the Oaxacan Old Fashion..smokey and delicious. For our entrees we tried the Barbacoa Tacos and Blackened Fish(Tilapia) tacos. Both entrees were 21.00 for 3 tacos but no rice or beans on the side so a little pricey in my opinion. Street parking is a challenge but they do offer valet for 5.00. They have a fantastic patio that is open in the summer so we will definitely be back to enjoy a few cocktails and Latin American eats.

The vibe inside is perfect for an intimate evening or afternoon lunch. Dark wood seating, an ample sized bar with dim lighting makes this a comfortable, chic spot. There is street side outdoor seating; however, there were no table umbrellas during our visit. The staff greeted us immediately and was happy to review the menu with us. We had the mole with roasted broccoli and cauliflower, unicorn pescado tacos and a Plato Fuerte with shrimp, lobster and chicken in a tasty creamy sauce. We loved all of the entrées; however, thought the mole was a lacking the traditional mole flavors we've tried before. The unicorn fish tacos were the standout and were crispy and delicious! We also appreciated the 4 taco serving, which was perfect for two. Prices were on point with other similar style restaurants in Oak Park, slightly elevated but fair for the quality of ingredients. On the downside, the bone marrow was undercooked, and we actually found a piece of aluminum foil in the mac and cheese that was prepared without truffle (menu states truffle). For example, we were told the street corn wouldn't be on the cob, but it was. Overall, some hits and some misses. Ambiance is ok - there's nothing that stands out. Drinks and mains were good, but a few things really missed the mark. For the price I don't think I would return.
