It's a clean place, the wait staff is nice and attentive, the food was mediocre at best, had calamari it was like chewing a rubber band. There were several children in the place having dinner, the music that was being played in house was loaded with rap profanity, (f bombs) My daughter it was inappropriate. as a small business owner myself I did too. Hello Foodzies, today I'm doing something I rarely do and that's posting a second post about a restaurant. The restaurant I'm talking about is Circle, Tavern in Elmwood Park. I was told to check out the cheesesteak flatbread. I've been there numerous times, their smash burgers, smoked clams, toasted raviolis and their sandwiches are very good. Circle, Tavern offers many things, it has gaming, TVs with wide variety of entertainment, music and of course great food. Our server Alex was attentive and helpful with her knowledge of the menu. Let me talk about this cheese steak flatbread. I've had many flatbread pizzas. This one on the other hand has a firm crust the toppings go from edge to edge unlike most of the flatbreads I've eaten which only fill the middle and you get nothing but bread, as you can see from my my photo the flatbread is completely covered. I highly recommend trying this flatbread pizza among all the other foods but the reason for the repost is that flatbread pizza. I give it five stars Ciao Ciao for now. I have been waiting for this spot to open for months and was not disappointed on our first visit. The interior is very similar to the old setup that was 18 west, however they have done a few minor changes that improved the experience. Nice size bar, plenty of seating and a nice menu to compliment the bar. The first noticeable improvement was the addition of house liquors that are locally made; rum, bourbon, vodka, and gin all made in Wheeling, IL. Very impressed with the house liquors. The next compliment is on the menu; it's a small menu with wings, smash burgers, and sanGwiches - cool twist to a traditional menu item. Last, the craft beer list was on the smaller end but overall impressive. I'm pleased to say they did a great job on the craft beer offerings. Hopefully they rotate brews from time to time. The service was attentive and friendly and I hope that this place ends up being what I've wanted for the circle for so long - a good place to grab a quality drink and quick bite. Circle tavern was an undiscovered gem of a place. I'm so mad at myself for not finding out about circle taverns amazing atmosphere and food. This place was such a pleasant surprise and I almost want to keep it a secret. They had patio seating and was dog friendly. Everything that we ordered was so good and we all agreed it was the best we've had in a long time. From the double cheeseburger, Philly cheesesteak, tavern fries, and the bacon breadcrumbed mac and cheese everything was perfection. Perfection. I will soon become a frequent local here. This comes across as a neighborhood joint that, when busy, makes you wonder if you need to be a regular to get attention. We soon realize that they were understaffed and heavily populated. Once we got the attention of a bartender/server/hostess every thing changed. A nice beer collection of packaged and tap offerings as well as a pretty nice cocktail menu got us started. The old fashioned was top notch, and you get your choice of bourbon, even when choosing the official version on the drink menu. It was a bit late to sample a lot of the menu, but the Mac and cheese with real bacon crumble was to die for. The double smash burger, well, not really a Smashburger, the patties were too thick, was top notch, especially with the Village Sauce. The ambience was a comfortable pub atmosphere, they will definitely be back again. I'm only giving it for Stars because I would like to try more of the menu, but I would not be surprised to go up to five! If you're in the Elmwood Park River Grove area, definitely hit this spot. read more

Home of the smash burgers! I find the food here very enjoyable, especially their crispy thin crust-well done pizza and fried raviolis. The home-made sauce served with their onion rings is tangy and sweet with a spicy kick to it. Exceptionally good cheese steaks. So far, everything I have tasted here sums up to 5 Stars. What's not to love about this place? Everything on the menu is a must try. My favorites are the clams, wings, cheesesteak (held the jalapeños) or a burger. The restaurant despite having a bar is family friendly. The staff is attentive and if you like a great drink try any of their self made vodkas! Did not expect to give this place 5 stars. The service was slow, but so very nice and helpful. The food was fantastic - I understand they have the same kitchen staff as when this was 18 West. The garlic knots are simply sinful. Slightly underbaked inside and crispy outside, slathered in butter, garlic and parm. Creepy bar manager sits and leers at everyone. Only greats his friends. Service is ok. Food is horrid. Most deep fried food often in dirty oil. Burgers are as thin as paper and nothing special. This place keeps changing names (yet same creepy manager) for obvious reasons. They should try making real changes instead of keep changing the name. read more

Their cheeseburgers are extremely underrated. My favorite is their Bacon Mount Burger and a close second is the Diaz Brothers. The bartenders are outstanding, especially Catherine, Krystle and Tina. I can't wait to go back for more. read more

I went here tonight with a friend of mine and we were both starving so we knew we had to come here. I ordered the Chicken Parm Sangwhich with fries and a side of the delicious tavern sauce. My friend ordered the Double Bacon Smash Burger, also with fries and loved it. Together we shared the Tavern Sampler which consisted of a good portion of toasted raviolis, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. My personal favorite was the toasted ravioli, it was nice and crunchy on the outside fried perfectly. The staff were super friendly and the owner especially. This place is a piece of shit and so are the owners. The food sucks. The experience was awful. I got there and had to wait 15 minutes until I got a water. The server was rude as well, like it's my fault your having a bad day. I ordered a coke, it was flat, so I ordered a sprite, tasted like soda water. Started off with some cheese sticks, TERRIBLE. How do you mess up cheese sticks?? No crunch, all the cheese spilled out. The marina tasted like cold Ragu. The the entrees took about 45 minutes to get to our table, the place wasn't busy at all (I can see why) I got the pork chop. It was dry like chewing on a tire, awful. The fries were soggy, no flavor. My buddy got the double burger, it was like they slapped two crappy Salisbury steak patty's from a hungry man microwave dinner on your local jewel brand buns.. The GM/ Manager or whatever he was is a complete douchebag. I won't be back. I suggest no one go there ever. I don't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more
