Skip this place. Recently moved to the area and had been passing by. We should've went to another chicken and seafood restaurant. Upon entering, the place was dead with only one customer eating. Marcy took our order and she was not the kindest person. The food came out fresh after we waited for over 15 minutes, but was nothing special. Very greasy and lacked flavor. She was unprofessional on the phone talking to Uber Eats and it made the meal uncomfortable on top of the tacky and random marine animal decor and poor choice of music playing in the TV. Their restaurant is lacking severely in taste and hospitality. I patiently waited to request for sauces that she forgot to give and she made it seem like I was intruding and interrupting her. She looked over at our table with a rude look and was displeased to give us the ranch that is included in the combo meal. The cole slaw is shredded to pieces and has no bite, the catfish was undercooked and too soft, the shrimps still had shells under the batter, and the chicken wings were small. Everything was extremely oily. They are charging extra for hot sauce, but it literally is just Louisiana hot sauce in a tiny dipping cup. Our total for two meals was $33. You're better off going to another chicken and seafood restaurant for a better deal and price. Schwings was recommended to me from a friend who says he tries to eat there every time he goes to O'hare. Completely worth the drive north on La Grange road. This is a great little take out spot. It's hidden in a strip mall. I ordered the 1/2lb shrimp dinner. The shrimp were fresh, crispy n delicious. The fries were homemade fresh cut like Gene & Jude's! Cute woman taking orders. She was very pleasant and personable...I paid for my order with a credit card and she thanked me using my name. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and some catfish. Wings were very good, but different. I could tell they were fried, but I don't think that they were drenched in flour. Lemon pepper flavoring was done right, but next time I will ask for extra. Catfish was very hot and very good. Breading was excellent. Seen some reviews where they talked about the fries being soggy, but mine were crisp, hot and good. Shwings is definitely a hidden gem. I highly recommend giving them a chance if you live in the area and haven't been there yet. Their wings are phenomenal. We ordered their buffalo wings, lemon pepper and Cajun. The Cajun has a very good kick, but with intense flavors. I've had very spicy wings from other places, but lacked flavor and tasted horrendous. I feel like a paid 3 bucks in confinement's alone asking for Hot, Buffalo, Ranch , Tartar. The cat fish filets w/ lemon pepper were good. Although it wasn't better than JJ. The fresh fries were also good and a bit crispy which I like. However, the 5 pc lemon pepper wings were ok until I got to the last 2 pcs. There was so much grease at the bottom I couldn't eat them. Tried this place for the first time today and glad I did. Absolutely excellent chicken wings that are flash fried to perfection. I got 10 of them with two sauces (cajun and parmesan garlic). I usually avoid the latter, but gave this place a try looking at past yelp pictures and pleased that I had the courage to go with them. They were the highlight of my meal! Cajun were decent for sure but outshone by parm garlic. Catfish would be next to try on another trip as those look super. Service was fantastic from the owner himself.
