We recently found this neighborhood gem, and it has quickly become one of our favorite spots in the city. The neighborhood feel is exactly what we've been looking for. Welcoming, comfortable, and the kind of place that makes you want to become a regular. Everything we've tried has been excellent. Our go-to order has been the wings and the chicken Caesar salad, which are both consistently delicious. But today we tried the Shia LaBuffalo Bowl, and WOW it was absolutely incredible. And honestly, the name alone deserves bonus points. So clever! We cannot wait to try the rest of their menu, EVERYTHING sounds delicious. We have to give a huge shoutout to Katie behind the bar. She makes us feel at home every single time we visit. She's warm, friendly, funny, and an exceptional bartender. I'm pretty particular about an Aperol Spritz, and Katie makes my favorite spritz in the city. She also makes an amazing mango margarita and a fantastic spicy watermelon marg. Quality neighborhood sports bar. Good for bears and cubs games, though depending upon the day and what is on you may not get sound on the baseball game. Which is understandable. The food is solid and made to order. Seems like they get a fair amount of take out as well. I miss the tots which seem to be off the menu. Cheese Curds are Illinois good. They pour a proper Guinness and saw a few black and tans as well. Outside of st Patrick day it is interesting to see. Good crowd, great staff. Pass on the chicken sandwich. read more

Recently went here for an animal fund raising event. The food and dessert prepared by the staff was second to none. Steak sliders , assorted wings and fries and great home made carrot cake. The cocktails were great and I have to tell you the prices were so reasonable. The quality in food has diminished! Me and my family are so surprised of the quality of food. We decided to ring in the New Year visiting one of our friends' favorite "Main Street" bar(s). Located right off on Addison, it's an easy miss smack dab in the middle of a residential area. GREAT local bar! Service was great from the start. All of their food choices are great! We tried their : wings (spicy bbq), battered cod plate, cheesesteak, cheese curds & their classic chili bowl. This place is walking distance from my house and I always forget about how great their food is! Came in a Tuesday about 6pm and a decent crowd not too crowded but not dead. Waitress greeted us right away. We split the dinning hour burger with fries and it was perfect! We saved room as waitress told us about $3 taco night so we also had the steak which were very good (lots of steak) but the shrimp were the best! They were medium shrimps and not breaded which we loved. We of course finished it off with the carrot cake made from scratch and it did not disappoint. We only ate 1/2 it was a huge piece and took the other half home. Great local place don't forget about it for a great dinner! We will make sure to come back more often. read more

The bartender/server is amazing, so friendly and knew everyone who walked in the door. The food was 10/10. Good neighborhood bar located of course in the neighborhood of Dunning. It's nothing really that special but sometimes you just want something that's easy and relaxing. Dunning Pour House is that kind of bar. Kind of far away from public transportation except for buses but worth it to avoid the limited parking around here. The prices are pretty cheap especially when there's a special. After making plans for an evening, we came here. It took awhile to get to by bus, but it came right in front of it. The special going on was Berry Sangrias on Wednesdays. It was only $5 each. These were full of berry flavor and not overly sweet unlike lots of these. As for the food, it's more of the basic bar kind of stuff, fried and greasy. It's about $4 for fries, and this is probably the healthiest thing on the menu. A lot of people like the burgers. There's also cheese curds. Basically it's an overall okay neighborhood bar. It won't blow anyone away, but it's good for a few cheap drinks as well as greasy food. This is a pretty affordable place as well, and you can save even more on the specials they have daily or weekly. read more

Located in the Dunning neighborhood this local spot gives me mixed feelings. While there is nothing wrong with the drinks or service, I have found the "vibe" here to be a bit off putting. I think it has to do with the primary clientele "regulars" and general culture. To give you the vibe I will describe my average experience here: it is often blasting country music or rock from 1960-1985 (dad music) and consists of many 30-40 year old men yelling and engaging in shenanigans reflective of someone half their age. The decor of the bar consists primarily of police/fire memorabilia from 1960-1990. The men are often accompanied by their wife or gf who is either drunkenly engaging in similar silly behavior or is completely disconnected and quietly waiting to leave. It feels a bit like a local frat house for Police/Fire workers and other local blue collar men who used to roughhouse in the parking lot after their team won a football game back in high school . Again there is nothing wrong with this but it's not necessarily my preferred atmosphere, however if you think you might like that visit the pour house as you will likely enjoy it! I still come here from time to time as it has a certain small-town/high school vibe which can be nostalgic. Food is fine. Specialty Drinks are hit or miss, I've had really good one here and really bad ones. Pricing seems a bit high on the food but ‍ . Rating three stars as this bar is likely not for most Chicagoans, and the food/drink don't particularly make it worth going out of your way to visit, but also their is nothing necessarily "bad" about this bar either. Bartenders have always been above average for sure though especially given the situations I've seen them have to deal with. They are always super kind and conversational! read more

I stopped in because I read great reviews. I was by myself. I ordered a sangria and the sheet pan nachos. It was lunchtime. David was fantastic. He treated me as if I were a regular. There were other parties and people at the bar, but I was not forgotten. I had some time to kill so I had an additional drink and ordered wings to go. My nephew reports they were great! This place has some really good food. I usually have the shrimp po' boy and it's delicious! When you eat it in the restaurant the shrimp is nice and crispy, but for delivery it doesn't stay that way. Only thing is that it can run very salty and overpowering because of that. The burger was good, along with the wings. Tacos were okay; The meat was dry and it had a very heavy cumin flavor. The salad was eh, nothing to write home about. Everything was salty like I mentioned, which is why it gets a star off. I want to tell you about a quaint place on Addison Ave in Chicago called Dunning Pourhouse located at 7718 w Addison Ave. anyone who knows me knows that Glenda and I like a little moonshine every now and then. One of my Officers recommended this place because it has Rootbeer moonshine. When we walked in there were a few patrons there but by the time we left it was packed. It had a Cheers atmosphere, classic rock playing numerous TVs with every sport you could think of playing. Our host was also our server; Abby. She was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We started with some moonshine, Glenda went with peach and I of course had the Rootbeer which was awesome (I bought a bottle to take home), we then switched over to Blue moon. We started with the chipotle bbq wings very tasty with the right amount of spice, I would have preferred them to be a crispier but great nonetheless. We had the Cajun jambalaya complete with andouille sausage, chicken and shrimp. Very flavorful and there again great spice level. Glenda opted for the bbq chicken salad with Chilled grilled chicken, tomato, avocado, roasted corn, black beans, cheddar, crushed tortilla chips, house BBQ, and ranch. The chicken was sparse and cut to small the bbq sauce was a sweet and smoky flavor. I really enjoyed it. I elected to get the Cajun chicken; Crispy hand-breaded chicken, house Cajun Grilled chicken breast, smoked bacon, seasoning, lettuce, tomato, onions, and lettuce, tomato, pickled red onions, and roasted pepper aioli. Fantastic, a little small but packed with flavor. That along with a large portion of tater tots was awesome. All in all I highly recommend it. Very friendly environment as soon as we walked in, young and old and some families. The bar itself is gorgeous carved wood, seats at bar, high tops, and a few regular tables. Excellent menu, some different options. The BBQ chicken salad (not sure of exact name) was superb. And delicious left over too. Street parking, but we don't have any trouble the two times we went. We've been to Dunning Pour House a couple of times now;once for lunch and once to just grab a drink. Both times we were impressed. Its everything that you would want a neighborhood bar to be. The food is rock solid all the way around from the burgers to the steak and cheese which I really enjoyed to the apps like the cheese curds and the nachos. Exactly what you want for pub grub. The vibe is local old school like the retro bar which I personally love, but also gives that farther into the city feel with being pretentious. The bartenders and staff are friendly and on top of it,l and really make you feel welcome. Good draft beer selection as well as some tasty bourbon choices. So glad I found this neighborhood bar! I've been craving for some good nachos and thanks to Yelp, we landed on Dunning Pour House! The Sheet pan Nacho is exactly what I was craving for. I wanted a loaded nachos with crispy chips. Look at the topping of this nacho! The Pour House Burger was also so delicious especially with the fried egg. We cut the burger in half to share and you know.... the egg porn when you see it the yolk drizzle. This was my kind of burger with the sauce, dill pickle, and cheese. A group of 11 of us came for lunch on a Sunday. Very nice variety of food on the menu and reasonably priced. We ordered sheet pan nachos, hangover fries, chicken wings, cheese curds and a chicken buffalo dip for appetizers along with beers, mango margaritas and back porch tea. (Generous drink sizes) For our main meal, some ordered Mac and cheese, the Beefcake, the party fowl, shrimp po boy, DPH cheesesteak, & street tacos. Everyone enjoyed the food.
